My family and I are actually pretty regulars but we will no longer be . Today we walked in and we're served by the manager "Terry". Part of my party had not arrived and I happen to order for them halfway through my breakfast. I told her I wanted " Chicken fried steak" and an order of waffles with scrambled eggs. She finally brings the plates out and tells my sister to " move your stuff the plates in my hand are hot" . I thought I misheard her say that because her tone of voice was extremely rude. We didn't say anything but as soon as my sister cut her steak she realized it was steak and not chicken. We informed her that was not what we had ordered and she literally started screaming saying " that's exactly what you ordered and I'm not going to change your order because you even pointed at the menu. " First of all I didn't even have a menu on me to begin with. I didn't mind the mistake, it was the tone of voice she used and the fact that she was screaming and had everyone looking at us. She ruined our breakfast. We packed everything and are on our way out. The fact that she is a manager saddens me because she should be an example for her employees. The Omelette was so salty, you could only taste salt don't know if maybe the ham was bad but I started getting sick a couple hours after I ate only a small amount, threw the rest away. The service I received today here at this location was amazing, outstanding, and one of the best experiences I have ever had. I called to see how the wait was and that I would have a large party and they said it would just take some time for them to arrange tables. When we arrived there they had the table waiting for us. They were patient with taking each order and giving us a receipt for each order. They constantly checked on us and refilled our drinks. The food was very good and responsible priced. This place has gone downhill and is overrated. It's unfortunate but this place is living off its past reputation. When I mentioned my order hadn't been taken she said she was busy and would get to me. They weren't that busy all her tables except me had there orders. Awesome homestyle breaky in Chino. Used to come here all the time with the fam on either saturdays or sundays, and we have always been satisfied with the food and the service. As everyone else has already mentioned, you have to try the biscuits and gravy, throw on bacon and sausage and it's just delicious sinful indulgence. I'm a huge fan of cornbeef hash and they prepare it really well here. I always find myself in a tumultuous inner battle because I can never decide what to I want to fill my belly with that day. Whenever I'm really hungry and I'm feening for some good homestyle southern food I come here. Come with an appetite because usually I can't finish in one sitting. The prices are good, most plates being about $8 which is reasonable the portions are huge also so it's worth it. First thing when you walk in the door and greeted, just don't stand there seat yourselves anywhere and wait for the waitress to help you. Very hospitable service that makes you feel welcome and a part of the family. Cozy diner atmosphere the wait for the food wasn't that bad. There was a drunk loud patron over in the next booth cussing up a storm, but the when the food arrived even that didn't matter. So much food it's on two plates .. Of course I got the popular tender and juicy country fried steak, eggs over easy, crispy hash browns, butter biscuits, and gravy over everything it so good and delicious, I really enjoy southern style cooking, because it's so different than the Asian foods I usually grub on, I wonder if they have grits, probably do. Like their slogan says, definitely "country cookin at its best" Of course I got their famous biscuits & gravy and it totally hit the spot! The 1/2 order consists of 2 fluffy biscuits on top of hashbrowns, then gravy SMOTHERED on top. =) It was a pretty big portion for $3.50! So cheap! Only bad thing was I found the hashbrowns a little mushy. I also got a waffle ($3.75) which was just okay. Their coffee ($0.95) was pretty good and they even left a coffee container on your table so you had your refills on the spot! My friend got the california omelette ($8.45) and that was pretty yummy! It had bacon, onions, bell pepper, tomatoes, cheddar cheese, and guacamole. I really like the guacamole because it tasted homemade. This dish also included your choice of side, so my friend of course chose biscuits & gravy. This place was pretty busy on a friday morning.Thankfully the parking lot is pretty big & there was no wait. It's a kinda small, old-fashioned dining room set-up. Service was just okay. Yum! What a nice breakfast spot , it kinda old school and the staff was very friendly. I sat at the counter and my server was very helpful with the menu being that it was my first visit. I was in the neighborhood and after reading the reviews on Flo #2, I decided to give this place a try. I ordered the country fried steak dinner and my mother ordered the fried chicken dinner. Since today was Monday, the special of the day is a combo plate. This includes one entree, 3 sides and choice of bread all for $6.45. You get a lot of food for the price that you pay. The fried chicken had a sweet batter that I couldn't figure out which made it different. The sides that were good were the rice pilaf, corn nuggets, green beans with tomatoes, corn and the mashed potatoes and gravy. The only thing that we didn't care for was the pinto beans which were salty. The chicken fried steak was bland and didn't have much flavor. We ordered the biscuits and gravy with hash browns and that was good. The only bad part of the experience was the service. Our waitress came to take our order and bring the food. Those were the only two times we saw her without her bus boy needing to tell her we wanted to order dessert. In fact, the busboy brought our drinks and refilled it once after we had to ask and we hardly saw him either. We could hear our waitress having a conversation with someone but for her to not check on us once, is plain ridiculous. Food-4 stars for value and taste Service-1 star and that's only because the bus boy brought our drink and refilled it once. Since there is no 2.5 stars rating, I'll round up to 3. Well I hate to write this review to be honest but I have no choice. I have been coming here all my life... Best breakfast ever. My past experiences always bring me back. But now it seems this restaurant has lost it's way. The last time I was here, which is not why I am writing this review, the service/food/atmosphere seemed off. As soon as we came in the restaurant there was nobody to greet us at the front counter (there use to be someone here at all times). It took 5 minutes for someone to come to the front (they were not very busy). Servers would walk by and not acknowledge you. Once they finally came they pointed out where to sit and said they will be there in a minute. 5 minutes later no server.. bus boy comes and asks what to drink. Server finally comes to take order, acts like they have no time to actually take it and are in a hurry. Not very friendly. I don't know... This time when we went it was the same thing. Except our server was nice. Same setup though, met us and pointed out where to sit, etc... I mean like before they would walk you to your table? There was another server who came by and she was not nice at all, very rude. Sorry if this review is all over the place I don't write these really ever lol.. The food was literally disgusting. The bacon was crips and chalk. The eggs were okay but came out cold. I ordered a waffle and it actually tasted worse than one you would buy frozen and make yourself. It was fluffy and barely cooked. I just ate it though and moved on. Like I don't know what to say. This use to be the best food ever. It's pretty bad now. The service is bad. The atmosphere is full of unhappy people that do not have passion for their job. I heard they changed owners or something. It's now like eating at home there and having someone who is upset to make food for you lol. Like if you don't like your job just quit and move on. Maybe they should sell the place to new owners. Disappointed =( Chicken Fried Steak - nice portion size but that's about it really. The coating on the steak wasn't crispy like how I'm used to having it. Before anyone says it was because the gravy soften it or anything, let me tell you, that was not the case. Gravy was on the bland side. The biscuits were not biscuits; they were like Hawaiian rolls. This is my second time eating at Flo's in just a matter of a week! First time was with my fiance and we were craving us some breakfast in the afternoon. The decent breakfast spots that we went to before are usually closed early in the day, so we thought we'd have no luck satisfying our craves for the day until we browsed through Yelp and decided to give this spot a try. As soon as we stepped in, we were greeted and told to choose to sit any place that we'd like. The modest setup inside was comfortable with feelings of homey warmth that are inspired from the welcoming and spunky placards that were hung along the walls. The service was as warm as the interior decorations ensued and the food tasted just as we imagined it would-- deliciously hearty. Also, the portions here are very generous!
