Came here on a Saturday morning for brunch and was seated right away. My fiancé and I ordered the Fried Chicken Croffle and Smoked Salmon Benedict. The Fried Chicken Croffle was delicious and was fried perfectly with a very nice crunch to it. The dipping sauce was also unique with it being sweet and savory, while also having that nice Asian fusion to it. However, it was also not necessary as the chicken itself had a whole ton of flavors already. As for the smoked salmon benedict, I thought it was delicious, however, I didn't like the breading as it was super wet/moist. Overall, the staffs were nice and the food was good. The portion size was also pretty big so we actually had several leftovers. Plenty of parking.
We were on the hunt for a good brunch spot in Chino and came across this place on Easter Sunday! So glad we did! It looks like they also offer hot pot for dinner, which we're definitely curious to try next time. We started with hot lattes, and they were delicious. The ube latte and the "Shrek" (matcha) latte had the perfect level of sweetness, not too overpowering, just right, and sooo good. For food, we ordered the ube French toast and the fried chicken with a croffle. The croffle alone is worth coming back for--wow. It's this amazing blend between a waffle and a croissant, super crispy on the outside and full of flavor. Honestly, I'd come back just for that. I'm biased as a croissant and waffle lover!! Everything was satisfying and the service was great!Definitely a spot we'll be returning to!
We tried a few different coffees as well as a matcha and ordered 3 different breakfast items. I wasn't a huge fan of the horchata latte but the Spanish latte was pretty decent as well as the matcha. The steak and eggs with the chimichurri sauce was absolutely delicious and cooked perfectly. The chilaquiles were good and we added chicken. Lastly we had the croffle with berries and it was larger than expected. The ambiance is clean, however, the restroom has a very distinct smell of urine. The staff was friendly but it feels as though they try to avoid eye contact so they can avoid your table. There were just a couple staff so maybe they were understaffed that day. Overall, I would return to try a few more breakfast items.
Waited for 20 minutes for our order to be taken & waited another 25 minutes for drinks. Service isn't great. Will update again if we ever get our food. Update: food took 50 minutes to receive, but the food didn't disappoint. I ordered the steak & eggs. Food was good, but won't come back again.
This place has gone downhill. I haven't been here for awhile & was craving my breakfast sandwich & my sister was craving her eggs Benedict to find out that they took out the sandwich out of the menu & they only serve the Benedict on weekends!! WTH!!! So we end up ordering a pesto chicken sandwich & waygu burger. The waygu burger used to have bacon included but not included anymore & prices have increased. And to make things worse today the food was very salty I didn't even eat finish my food. I'm sad that they did not improve this place or at least keep it up. They are still serving water in paper cups & place doesn't appear very clean.
The girlies and I came to brunch and catch up at Wara. We were informed by one of the staff that our 90mins starts as soon as we are seated and would be best to wait for our whole party. I ordered the smoked salmon bagel with chive cream cheese. All our plates came with a side salad and fingerling potatoes. My plate was so filling! I love that they weren't shy with the cream cheese or the salmon. The fingerling potatoes were perfectly seasoned and the salad added the perfect, light touch. The gals also loved their dishes. The only thing is we wished we tried their coffee!
It was tucked away in a shopping area. Apparently they share the space or convert the space to a different concept at night time. The seating situation could use work. There's a tablet that you MUST sign up on to be sat. I feel like a greeter would be a bit easier but I like the concept. I would maybe make a sign or bring more attention to it. The staff once you get sat were AMAZING. I got corn matcha, really good, you have to request it sweetened, I didn't but you should. I got a steak and egg breakfast with fingerling potatoes and a salad. The potatoes were perfect and everything was cooked masterfully. Awesome pit stop for a quick breakfast and if you wanted to impress.

Juicy and perfectly cooked patty Chicken burrito: 9/10 Chicken croffle: 10/10 I've never tasted chicken this tender and juicy. It went perfectly with their chili oil + maple syrup combo. Tucked in a little nook of Chino Hills, behind the old Harkins theater, is Wara Cafe. Good things come to those who wait, because wait you will here at Wara Cafe. Staff and service is laid back, some may say slow. You'll have to check in via Yelp on their iPad and wait to be seen by an actual human. You'll have to wait to be seated. You'll have to wait for your server. And you'll have to wait much longer for food. But the food is good quality and delicious. We ordered an ube french toast and fried chicken sandwich. I was initially disappointed because I wanted steak chilaquiles, but they had run out. But it was just as well since it would've been too much food for two if we had ordered 3 entrees. And we probably also would've had to wait more. The ube french toast was decadent yet manageable. It was not overwhelming sweet. It paired well with fresh fruit. The fried chicken was succulent and juicy. The brioche was fluffy and delicious. The potatoes were a good complement. We demolished our plates and were content. If we aren't in a rush and can enjoy a slow morning, it's worth coming back.
Love this place! It is on the pricier side but the food/drinks/vibes are great for brunch. My friend introduced me the first time, and it was so good I brought a group of six friends the next time I came. I had the same order both times: smoked salmon bagel and blueberry matcha. Both of those are absolutely delicious. I'm always on the lookout for blueberry matcha, as not many places have it. My friend group also shared a matcha flight to try each flavor, and I didn't like the other ones as much as blueberry. The patio is really pleasant to sit out, and they can accommodate larger groups. The first time I went, service was pretty good, but the second time, even though it wasn't busy, our server seemed a bit absent-minded and rushed. She forgot to take cancelled orders off of our check despite them not making the order. I had already paid, and they were trying to figure out how to refund it, but my friend just paid and had them make the drink instead to save the hassle. Regardless, I enjoyed both my experiences here and highly recommend!
highlights: - very friendly and attentive staff - food presentation was great - taste of the food was good and the serving size was good - seated quickly cons: - the wait for the food was exceptionally long, my friend and I waited around 40~45min for two breakfast dishes - the food was very good but the wait is something to account for - price was around average but more on the expensive side around ~$20 per person overall: would visit again, but would plan around the wait time, other than that, this restaurant was good!
My girlfriends and I came after a hike for brunch on a Sunday morning. This was my second time here. There's always a wait, thankful for Yelp Waitlist. We were seated after 20 minute wait. This is a cute place with seating both indoor and outdoors. It is in a plaza with ample parking. It is a hot pot place in the evening. The food was good but did take a while to come out. We all enjoyed our dishes. My friend especially love her candied bacon. I am a Benedict lover, so of course, I devoured my Smoked Salmon Benedict. It was tasty and well-flavored. I definitely recommend this place.

They need to figure out their waitlist system when it comes to their tables. People were waiting for too long that they end up leaving when 60% of the restaurant was empty. They also have the bars so I'm not sure why they couldn't sit the people there who only had 2 parties. Their food of choices was not that good and not worth the one hour wait either. read more

The weekend brunch menu and drinks are to drool over and spectacular to have as a treat-yourself kind of meal. I met up with a friend at Wara Cafe and we had the best time sipping on our Shrek Lattes and eating their Croffles. We ordered the Shrek Latte (Hot) and Shrek Latte (Cold) as our drinks, and both got the Croffle w/ Mixed Berries, Fresh Whipped Cream, Hazelnut Drizzle, and because it was the weekend and my stomach begs for brunch food, I also got their Classic Breakfast which comes with 2 eggs, 2 bacon, side of toast, and salad. Let me tell you and stop you right in your tracks if you're looking at other things on their menu. Their Croffle is top of the line, the best croffle invention I have ever had, and gave me another reason to exist and enjoy life, just so I can eat their Croffles. If you are wondering what it is, it's like a dessert fusion breakfast item in between a croissant and a waffle pressed in a waffle iron. This makes an airy, buttery, crunchy, waffle bite, and it's got me drooling as I am typing this hungry. They pair it here with mixed berries, and their house-made fresh whipped cream. The whipped cream is another story I need to say, because I originally thought it was too much since its a size of an ice cream scoop, but I finished the whole thing and enjoyed every bite of it since it is also one of the best fresh whipped creams I have had. Just get the croffle, OK? 100% gauranteed you will love it and thank me later, please. Also, if I may convince you of another thing. If you love matcha and cinnamon, it is no doubt you will love their Shrek Latte. I read "Matcha, brown sugar, and cinnamon, as their description, and I was immediately sold. Sign me up for another Shrek Latte please, and I'll change my name to Fiona. I absolutely loved it and would order again. The staff here are also beyond friendly, and genuinely sweet. They checked on my friend and I every now and then and made sure we were taken care of. They are all so beautiful, and have such great smiles. I can see why the wait line was so long! I would come back every weekend if I were closer to Wara Cafe, but it just gives me more reason to bring another friend along and make the trip out here. We went to eat breakfast here after church. It was crowded but the wait was not too bad, around 30 minutes. It was worth the wait! I ordered the smoked salmon bagel with eggs. Super delicious! Went here with my friend for brunch on a late Sunday afternoon. Wara Cafe is located in the center of the plaza and have a cute outdoor patio area if you want to be outside or indoor area. Plenty of parking spaces available and the plaza is located right behind the Kaiser Medical Center offices. It seems like during the day, it is a brunch restaurant, and for night, it is a shabu hot pot restaurant. We came around 11:15am and didn't have to wait long before getting a seat. They had a decent, diverse menu filled with brunch items with a diverse drink menu. We got: - Smoked Salmon Eggs Benedict- definitely taste the smokiness of the salmon and it was a delicious yummy plate if you like eggs benedict. - Fried Chicken Croffle- if you like fried chicken and waffles, definitely try it. - Ube French Toast- highly recommend if you enjoy a sweet dessert to share with a friend. - Dirty Ube Latte - perfect blend of the espresso in the ube latte- not too sweet. - Salted Caramel latte- that one was more coffeeish. Food did took a while to come out, and surprisingly our drinks came out last. But it is a great place to hang out with friends and chat. Overall, definitely will come back again! read more

Very nice place for brunch and keeps you feeling full after. The waitress was nice and got us our waters pretty quickly and checked up every now and then to make sure we had everything we needed. The food came out quickly as well. It was a bit hard to choose off the menu though since everything sounded great, especially the many drink options. Fried Chicken Croffle - Couldn't help myself to the classics. It also comes with a side of fries and a salad. The chicken and croffles were so crispy. Their portion sizes are pretty good too, so it was big enough for my friend and I to split our dishes and share. The Shrek - This is a matcha latte with brown sugar and cinnamon and has now ruined all other matcha drinks for me because it was so good. It's not as sweet as it sounds, but it does give you that sugar kick you need to start your day. Highly recommend. We ordered it because it sounded funny but it was probably our favorite matcha latte out of everyone we've tried. read more

Service sucked. Waitress didn't take our order correctly. Food was very mid. Apparently they just changed their menu recently which sucks. Salmon bagel was pricey as heck. $17, you can get that anywhere else for $11-13. The color of the matcha speaks for itself. First and last time going. Very small menu, nothing really stood out to me. But hey that's just my opinion. Place was cute inside. read more

Visiting from Texas and ran across this great location to meet my friends. "Wara Cafe" is tucked away in a courtyard with other restaurants and medical offices. They offer a nice selection of meals and chef specials. They were able to accommodate six of us easily. Service was great. Our server, Crystal was amazing. She was on top of it from start to finish. She handled all our little particulars and kept us refilled. Make she to check out the chef specials. They were great. Take a moment to stop by and taste their goodness. Wow! I live close by and didn't even know this lil gem was hiding. You don't see it from the street and there's really no advertisement but the reviews speak for themselves. The food was delicious. Almost perfect. The staff was polite and prompt. And the pricing is on point. I'm definitely coming back. Next time I'll walk and bring my doggie. The food here was exceptional, the steak was perfectly seasoned, it's so hard to find a good steak nowadays this one was chef kiss! Customer service is okay, I think it's a hit or miss, there are some employees who seem happy to be there, others not so much haha. I don't like matcha but in all honesty this one was pretty good, definitely recommend! We went with the recommendation to try the chicken waffle I wasn't impressed. Environment is welcoming, there's plenty of space but it does get busy, just a fyi come prepared! read more
First time here today Monday at 9:30 a.m., no wait time. Spacious, welcoming staff, Aladdin movie playing on the TV screen with the sound off. Pop music playing medium loud, but we could still hear each other talk. Condiments at every table--hot sauce, ketchup, salt and pepper. The ambience is ok but you're really here for the food. We ordered the BLT with avocado, the avocado toast, and the croffle with chicken. A croffle is a waffle made out of croissant (more buttery than sweet). All meals come with mixed green salad and roasted potatoes. The bacon was crispy and candied, the fried chicken was tender enough to cut with a fork and flavorful, and the croffle was distinctive. We really enjoyed the different takes on the traditional breakfast entrees! We tried coming yesterday (Sun at noon) but there was an hour wait with a line out the door (now I can see why!), so we gave it another try today, and I'm glad we did! I'm usually underwhelmed by most fusion brunch places but Wara Cafe is so good! They have outdoor seating so we were able to bring our dog and sit on the shaded patio. Ordered the churro French toast and fried chicken and croffle. The fried chicken was perfectly crispy and the croffle tasted like what you think a croffle would taste like. So goood! Service was great too - food came out quick and the servers were really nice. Def my favorite brunch spot in the Chino area read more

The chicken eggs Benedict was really good here. The gravy was just okay but the batter for the chicken made up all the flavor for this dish. I definitely recommend it. My wife got the ube French toast and to be honest you can't really taste any of the ube flavor. I also got the hojicha latte and it was really good as well it had a really bold tea flavor. You can't tell they use good quality tea. The place is kind of weird for me just because I know in the evening it's a hot pot restaurant but the food and service definitely make up for the ambiance. Average brunch spot with slightly higher than average prices, especially for the area (chino). Food was good but not anything special! I got the chicken pesto sandwich (15$) comes with salad and roasted potatoes. Located/combined with waru shabu, so the atmosphere is not very cute or brunch-y. read more

Brunch is always a yes for me and glad to have checked out this spot! The phrase hidden gem is so overused, but it is literally tucked away in a little plaza. This place turns into a shabu restaurant in the evening. Overall food and service was good. I would check it out again and try the other menu items. Interior: not the cutest but food is bomb though Def want to try their drink menu next time. fried chicken croffle - the chicken was hot, juicy, crispy in all the right ways, and paired with the croffle?? fire combo. savory-sweet perfection. Their honey has chilli flakes in it that gives it a bit of a kick. i was dipping it like crazy ube french toast - soft, warm, and just the right amount of sweetness. the ube flavor was actually strong (not just purple!) and the textures were so comforting. vibes were chill, lots of seating, and the food came out fast. We went abt 10 min before they closed their kitchen but they were super nice and still sat us down. lowkey didn't expect to get full but Wara said don't underestimate me lol. read more

Heard about the long waits so we arrived early, pretty much when it opened to avoid the lines. This place is located in a plaza, a shabu place at night, and brunch during the day before 2pm. Overall it was just OK . I ordered the fried chicken eggs Benedict, but the sauce or country gravy was just too much. The best thing there was the ube latte . read more
