When in Ontario, you gotta stop here this place DOVA , is fairly new about a year old. The owners and the staff are so nice and accommodating. As we first walked in my mom was complaining of the heat and I asked them where it was a good spot to sit because she was hot and they understood they actually brought out a fan just for her and put it right there next to her. I thought wow that's so kind of you to do that. The Resturant itself is so cute with the red pinkish flowers throughout and let me tell you they had Sade playing the entire time and really really good music which makes the biggest difference for me in a restaurant. Ambience is everything. They do have vegan options YAY.. which I absolutely love alongside with regular food both delicious. Everything was fresh and tasty. Oh, and by the way, they have the best café de olla. The owner's Sandra and Anthony are so humble. They take the time to actually speak to the customers , greet and thank them for their patronage there. I love that I hope this place is here for a long time. I will definitely be going back. Maybe we just got some bad luck here but our experience was definitely not great. The food is not worth the price we had to ask our waitress to fix way too much I ordered the steak and eggs steak was flavorless borderline unseasoned and my over medium eggs were definitely overcooked and my toast forgotten. The second round of eggs were ALSO overcooked. At that point we gave up because we didnt want to bother our server another time. My aunt ordered chilaquiles which came criminally under sauced and the chicken was rubbery. My friend ordered at $9 plate of carnitas which was dry and the portion was extremely small for $9 Our server initially checked on us fast but we asked for a little more time and then waited another 15 minutes before we asked an employee who said theyd get the server but then no one came so we had to call after someone else another 10 minutes later. Wait time in general was ridiculous we were there over an hour and half and still didnt have all our food on the table. the waitress didnt seem to be paying attention to the kitchen window and they weren't notifying her either. Also we waited extremely long and paid $16 for a dutch baby that was smaller than my friends hand. HOWEVER the owner came over and was very apologetic and receptive to our feedback. The tortillas weren't fried, and they were filled with dried beans--nothing like enfrijoladas. They're supposed to like enchiladas, but made with like kind of beans (salsa), not dried beans. I didn't even touch them. Im feeling sad. It hurt to pay $65 for something so simple and of such poor quality, and on top of that, it took more than 30 minutes to bring our food. Had this spot on my places to visit for a while and I'm glad we finally had a chance to go. The salsa verde chilaquiles skillet with carnitas, oh my goodness sooooo good! Definitely had a nice spicy kick, portions were pretty big. My husband got the fajitas skillet, he thought my chilaquiles skillet had more flavor. My daughter got the kids pancake plate, portion was actually pretty big and we stole a bit Of the pancakes (they were so good) I wouldn't mind getting the pancakes myself next time. We had a fantastic time, the inside is almost as beautiful as the outside. We were warmly greeted and seated at a booth. One of the owners, Sandra, came by and offered samples of posole - I could've ordered that as a main, it was delicious. We ordered a variety of drinks - blueberry lemonade, Nutella latte, strawberry match, horchata, and a mocktail. Our servers Lehua and Joshua were so nice and got us whatever we needed fast. Visited on a weekday morning right when they opened. Server informed us about items they did not have in that day one was avocado and cold brew which was what I was going to order. I visited for a second time, hoping to enjoy the food as much as I did on my first visit, but unfortunately, it was a disappointing experience. The food didn't taste anything like before (I'm convinced there was a different chef), and the service was poor. Although the restaurant wasn't busy, it took a while for the staff to seat us, and they ended up bringing the wrong orders while forgetting items we asked for. The omelet my friend received was the strangest I've seen--very thin and made entirely of egg whites--and according to my friend, it didn't taste great. My eggs Benedict was also incorrect, and when we both ordered the café horchata, they arrived cold and tasted completely different from each other. Worst customer service ever at Dova Cafe. We waited over 35 minutes for our food. When it finally came out, they brought plates for my husband and me only to then tell us they were out of crepe batter, meaning there was no food for my daughters. What made it worse is that no one checked in on us the entire time. We were sitting there waiting, thirsty, with no updates or communication. Why not tell customers ahead of time instead of waiting until food is already on the table? They offered pancakes as a replacement, which felt like an afterthought rather than proper customer care. Found this Gem of a spot looking for a place to meet up with a wonderful friend. The building is covered in beautiful mural making it even more exciting to see the inside, once you enter you'll feel relaxed and ready to sit and listen to the Playlist while checking out the menu. We were treated with a suprise crepe because we were there too celebrate our birthdays my personal opinion is you can't go wrong with anything on the menu! The food was okay overall, but a few things could be better. The chilaquiles didn't come with eggs, which was a bit surprising, and there was an extra charge to add them. The kids' pancake, unfortunately, wasn't great, it was thin, dry, and overcooked, and my child didn't want to eat it. I tried it too and agreed it wasn't very good. We ordered hot chocolate, but the first one just tasted like warm milk, so we sent it back. The staff was nice about it, and the second one came out much better. The restaurant had a ton of Halloween decorations, which were fun, but a few were a little too scary for my child and even myself. The staff kindly let us move to a different table, which I really appreciated. Prices felt a bit high for what we got. I get that it's a small café, but the food quality didn't quite match the cost. We went on a Saturday morning, right when they opened and they were still cleaning the floors and windows. It smelled heavily like PineSol in the restaurant. The smells went away eventually but we were thinking of leaving from the strong smell, as they were mopping right in front of our table as well. New hidden Gem in the heart of Ontario!!!! I like to find coffee shops to work and saw this one on my maps for a while and I'm so glad I tried it today :) not only were the coffee drinks good, I ordered the pesto chicken sandwich and my friend the Vegan soyrizo burrito and they honestly were so delicious. But the best part of it all was the service. A sweet lady came to ask for our coffee drinks and made them upon our liking, she kept checking up on us to make sure we were satisfied with everything, and come to find out she was the owner!! Date of Visit: Saturday, January 10, around 9:30 AM We visited Dova Café on a Saturday morning and were the only guests in the restaurant. The space itself is very nice and inviting, but unfortunately, the service and food quality did not meet expectations. After being seated, the hostess mentioned someone would be with us shortly, but it took several minutes before anyone came to take our drink order. We ordered a Café de Olla and a Brown Sugar Latte, both advertised as 20 oz drinks. When served, each was only half full in a 20 oz mug. We pointed this out, and while they agreed to refill them, this should not have been an issue in the first place. It also took quite a while for someone to return and take our food order. My wife ordered the Breakfast Delight (waffles, two sunny-side eggs, two over-medium eggs, and house potatoes), and I ordered the Chilaquiles Skillet with over-medium eggs and chorizo. Breakfast took 45 minutes to an hour to arrive, and when it did, the food was lukewarm at best. The eggs were cold, and the skillet was not sizzling as you would expect. We brought this to the server's attention, and they explained that the food "normally comes warm," which is concerning. They offered to reheat the dishes, but it was clear they were microwaved--some parts came back hot, others still lukewarm. Additionally, my over-medium eggs were fully cooked, not prepared as requested. They did bring a second set of eggs, but those were also lukewarm. While the restaurant gave us a 35% discount and comped the drinks, the overall experience was disappointing. For an empty restaurant, service should have been faster, and food should have been served hot and prepared correctly. This café has a nice atmosphere, but the execution on food and service needs significant improvement. I truly hope they address these issues because, at this rate, I don't see them lasting long. We came in early on a Saturday morning with my family--there were four of us total. It was a little busy but not overly crowded, and there were still plenty of empty tables. We waited at the front to be seated and asked if we should wait or pick any open table. The staff told us to go ahead and choose any empty table, so we did. After sitting down, we waited about 15 minutes and no one came to acknowledge us or take our order. Our table was right in the middle of the dining area, so it wasn't tucked away or difficult to notice. I eventually went up to the register to ask if we were supposed to order there or wait for a server. They told me someone would come to the table. We waited another 10 minutes before a waiter finally came over, introduced himself, and apologized for the delay, saying he'd be right back to get our drink orders . Unfortunately, he never returned--even though he was helping other tables nearby. After waiting so long without any service, we ended up leaving.
