When I arrived and realized it was located inside of a liquor store, I wasn't sure if it this spot would be any good, but it just goes to show that you shouldn't judge a place by how it looks but by taking a bite. The day before I tried this spot, I went to another deli that had a bunch of Italian imported goods and seemed like it would be a legit spot for a good sub, yet this spot blew it out of the water imo. Grabbed the "Mafia" which has capicola, salame, and mortadella as well as their "Turkey Bacon Avocado" sandwiches. Both sandwiches were enjoyable with well balanced bites throughout. Grabbed two half sandwiches for 16 bucks and had 1/4 leftover. Tasty and filling at a reasonable price. I struggled to pick a favorite they were both good. Came back the next day and tried their meatball. It was fine, but enjoyed the other two subs a lot more. The location has no indoor seating but they have three tables outside. The lady making the sandwiches is very friendly and professional. No public restroom though. I'll be back whenever I'm in the area and craving a good sandwich! read more

Located in a residential neighborhood, Lisa's Market has plenty of convenient parking. There was seating out front of the store but too hot on this day to sit outside. First time having a sandwich at Lisa's and it was excellent. The young lady who took my order was polite as she prepared orders on this busy Sunday afternoon. I Ordered a large Mafia Torpedo which was substantial in size with plenty of fresh ingredients. For $13 I felt this was a good deal since it could easily feed two people. While you're there you can pick up chips and a drink. They have a fountain drink dispenser as well as a big selection of bottled soft drinks and adult beverages. Great sandwiches! Customer service was great and quick even when they were busy at the time I went. They have a few benches outside that you can sit and eat at. The market also has a variety of chips and drinks to choose from. I definitely can't wait to go back and try something else off their menu. read more

2026 update: sandwiches are $13 each for a full. This was our first time trying this place and we will never go back for the sandwiches again. They are bland and flavorless and they definitely skimp you on the meat. I got the beef deep and there were 4 slices of very thin roast beef in it. I had heard about this little gem from someone I know posting about it on social media. So I had to try it sincerely my favorite thing ever is a great deli sandwich. The location is literally in the middle of a neighborhood of houses and there is street parking. This is a liquor store/ market, and the deli is in the back of the store. There was a line of people there when I got there so I knew it had to be good. The store is small so space is tight. The deli lady was friendly, I ordered the turkey bacon and cheese sandwich. It took about 7 minutes to be ready. We took it to go. The sandwich was about $12 and it was big! It was so delicious! The bread was soft, the ingredients were fresh and it was a very good sandwich. After seeing on instagram we decided to give it a try. Went to the back of the market and ordered 2 sandwiches. Turkey and avocado was the first and a bacon, lettuce and avocado was the second. Both were made to order. The staff were very cordial and customer oriented. Small kitchen area with 3 girls making sandwiches among other items. The market is a neighborhood market that had a wide variety of products. The sandwiches were some of the best we had. Perfectly balanced and they don't skimp. Lisa's Market was started in the 60s by a Chapman College graduate who sold the business to a Korean fella in 1987 who ran the business for 30 years and sold the business to an Indian fella 5 years ago. How do I know this? The now retired Korean fella was hanging out at the market when I was eating my Mafia Torpedo sandwich and we chatted. First, a large sandwich here is A LOT of food so half would have been fine. The bread is fresh but a bit on the soft side for me. Bread may be better with one of the hot sandwiches? They asked if I wanted everything on the Mafia Torpedo sandwich and I said 'yes' but I should have asked what's everything? They put mayonnaise on it. I like mayo but not on any 'Italian' style sandwiches so oil would have been better. Besides sandwiches, this place sells a lot of unique snacks and drinks so look around when you're waiting for your sandwich. My childhood sandwich spot!! The day I went I was really craving a salad so I did a salad instead of a sandwich but I had some of my mom sandwich and it was delicious. I love the variety of candy and snacks they have here! The pickled egg was delicious and the crackers instead of croutons was actually really good . This place is funky. Funky as in bad, not kitschy. Weird smell in the place. Pre-sliced meats slapped on bread reminiscent of an old slipper. Turkey was slimy to the touch, as if it had sat awhile. I stared at the $23 worth of sandwiches (2) in the box and couldn't even eat it. The sandwiches smelled like the restaurant and there was no way I could do it. I knew as soon as I had walked in that I should have turned around but once again I was fucked by Yelp and misleading reviews that dreamed of the place it once was twenty years ago. Great reviews for this market. I came in for the small sandwich counter in the back. I do have to tell you that I venture to places near and far in search of the best food. I enjoy good neighborhoods and moderate neighborhoods but I have to say that this is one scary neighborhood. Being a 6 ft. tall man in the middle of the day, I felt safe. For those that follow my reviews, be cautious. I saw some very scary looking dudes shopping here. I did not feel unsafe but others might. It's a small neighborhood market and the sandwich counter in the corner was spotless with a nice "A" rating on display. The workers wore masks and gloves. I went for the Mafia sandwich which is a sub on a thick white torpedo roll with capicola, salami and mortadella. The crust was soft instead of crunchy which dropped a star for me but the meat and lettuce were fresh and flavorful. No real complaints there. It's super cheap at about $5 for a good sized half sandwich. Also nice to be able to score a cheap beverage from the market and pay one time at the front. Very friendly service, too. read more

Finally they're open! It is a small section of the store in the back that yields some really great food. Their sandwiches are delicious! The tuna salad sandwich is good. Something in the sandwich was sweet, however, the jalapeños balance it. The hubster ordered a large 'Godfather!' Huge sammie....at least 18-20 inches. It yielded 4 servings! That's right....1 sandwich 4 servings & $10.99. Where oh where can you get that? EXACTLY....LISA'S is the place to go. Oh and it's like a one stop shop....they have multiple functions. You can get water (by the gallon 25cents), get your Lottery fix, and plenty more. There's a slight language barrier but ummmm...dollars and cents are universal so you will get along fine. I hadn't been before the remodel so I'm not sure if it was worth it. I just know now that it's a cool spot for some home style food with reasonable prices.
