Funny how my first and second time ordering from here was when I was under the weather and not working. Comfort brunch sounded good so after picking up coffee somewhere else, I decided to order from here to head home to enjoy the food. The person who helped me over the phone was very nice and made me excited to try the food again. I ordered the u too cheesy which was grilled cheese and fries. I wanted some veggies with it and was recommended spinach so that's what I went with. I also ordered a single serving of the scream cloud cake which came with thai tea and ube cream. Everything was only $25 which i thought was very reasonable. Exactly 15 minutes later I got a text saying my order was ready. I came inside and was helped right away. The place was pretty busy but if I had decided to dine in I think I would have gotten seated right away. I will dine in on my 3rd visit. So for the items I ordered... the fries and spinach were good. The grilled cheese was only okay. I think they should spice it up with tomatoes and eggs. Not sure if that is a possible request with their grilled cheese. As a pescetatian who likes to eat vegetarian, that would have made this sandwich better. For meat eaters I wonder if they can add ham to the grilled cheese. That would be a good option. A few hours later I ate the cloud pancake and I can appreciate that the flavors went well together. I also appreciate that you can buy a single one in the case you can't eat a full order of 3 cakes. Would recommend asking for the cream on the side if you like to dip your pancake in it or else it will come like melted butter on top. It came with roasted pork belly, a poached egg, sautéed spinach, onions, and rice, it's a perfect combination of flavors and textures. The Basque Cheesecake ($8.95) was rich, creamy, and so yummy. But the highlight for me was the Cloud Pancake! it was incredibly fluffy and delicious. This has officially become my favorite item here and is a must-try! The service was excellent! It's now 1:45PM and I've already found another spot to eat but thought I should share that TakeUrSeat Chino would not allow a party of 2 to join the wait-list while there were available tables both inside and outside and only two people waiting to be seated and the hostess said it's because they are backed up. To drive all the way here (40 minutes drive) and arrive with more than an hour of time before closing and being told it's not possible to order seems very confusing from a customer's perspective. I think if anything, it's more like a 3.5/5 My boyfriend and I came on a Monday around 11:20AM. I had joined the waitlist on yelp and checked in when we arrived. They offered to seat us outside, but it was kinda chilly that day so we opted to just wait for a seat to open up, which was about 10-15mins. Upon being seated, she informed us of their souffle pancake, which is what they were known for before leaving us to browse the menu. I was super excited to try it since this is all I've heard about this restaurant. We were kinda left there for a while before a gentleman came to take our order. We ordered the spam musubi, their seasonal strawberry cheesecake cloud souffle pancake, and TUS breakfast sandwich subbing fries for home fries, and a cup of orange juice. Orange juice: I love me a cup of freshly squeezed oj and not many places have them (typically it it tastes like bottled oj). BUT!!!! this oj as 100% freshly squeezed and it was soooo good. If you like freshly squeezed oj and crave that natural sweetness, this is a must. Spam musubi: very flavorful! I really liked the sauce they used for the inside it and it was a great way to start the meal. The downside is that the spam slice was pretty thin and the musubi itself did fall apart pretty easily, which made it very messy to eat. TUS breakfast sandwich: the sandwich had great flavor and was huge. My boyfriend really enjoyed it and found it to be very filling. I liked the home fries a lot, seasoned very well and so crispy. Strawberry cheesecake cloud pancake: I won't lie...I was kinda disappointed with this. It was a huge portion, which is good if you want to have your money's worth. The strawberry flavor was pretty subtle and it tasted more like strawberry pocky. The pancakes themselves were pretty dense and not as airy as I would prefer it though, so I was full after like 1.5 pieces. The cream on the pancakes was a good balance though so it wasn't too sweet. It also had cheesecake bits, which was good too. Overall, the food was just okay. I think if I were to come back, I'd probably get something else. As to why I had take away some stars, the wait for the pancakes were kinda insane. I think it was like 15 mins? and I wouldn't mind had I been told how long it would take, my bf was already halfway done with his meal by the time my order came. On top of that, another group of two that came in after us was able to get their orders and finish before the pancakes came out....which kinda made me feel like were forgotten, especially because no one came to update me. It was also kinda difficult to wave someone down since no one really walked by us. When we were ready to pay, we waited like ten minutes for the check to come out. Only after locking eyes with one of the servers did they finally come to tell us that they were working on the check and was running into issues. Again, another instance in which early communication would've been appreciated vs letting us just sit there and wonder what was going on. Don't get me wrong, they were very nice and accommodating (the table behind us had an antsy baby and they were able to accommodate them and moved them to a bigger table/space). However, the lack in communication about orders and issues did sour this experience. I hope that they're able to improve on that so customers can make informed decisions (such as not ordering the souffle pancakes if they're in a time crunch). read more

We had their Berry Cloud pancake and Big Five breakfast. The berry cloud pancakes were soft and fluffy just as advertised. It is served with whipped cream, strawberries, blueberries and a side of fruit preserves. It is like a cross between an Asian sponge cake and pancake. Parking: I came here after a hike around noon on a weekend. The parking lot was actually pretty crowded even though it was a big lot. You can probably get parking more easily if you park a bit farther away from the restaurant. Exterior: There were some benches outside for people waiting. Upon sitting down we immediately put in the order for the soufflé pancakes and ordered some coffees. The lattes came out first but were kind of lukewarm and the house coffee required a couple follow-ups. Refills also required a lot of asking. Service wasn't the best, if you haven't realized it yet. When it came to our meal, the pork belly bowl was properly delicious and we also really enjoyed both soufflé pancakes. The crème brûlée French toast was also a hit with the kids. The last item was the berry good cloud pancake, which was delicious and there's a reason it's one of their top dishes. It comes with three soft and fluffy souffle pancakes and a side of berry compote and some fruit. From what Ive heard, the souffle pancake is a difficult technique to master and they do it well. Do note that the pancake will take 25-30 mins (which the server warns you about). As for ambiance, it was nice and lively (although a bit crowded for my tastes). We decided to share the Cookies M Scream Pancakes as our "appetizer" and it was the best decision ever.
