We finally made it to Violet Rooster, and wow... it absolutely lived up to the hype. This is easily one of the most fun and unique breakfast spots we've been to, and it might honestly be one of our new favorites. First off, the service was fantastic. Everyone was so friendly and attentive, and you can tell they genuinely care about making sure you have a great experience. The food was incredible. We ordered the Banana Nana Nut Pancakes, the Chilaquiles, and the Famous Benedict, and each dish was packed with flavor. The pancakes were soft, fluffy, and perfectly sweet, the chilaquiles were comforting and full of flavor, and the Famous Benedict was rich, satisfying, and easy to understand why it's a customer favorite. One thing we weren't expecting was how BIG the portions were. You definitely get your money's worth here, so don't over-order like we almost did! The drinks deserve their own shoutout too--they were creative, delicious, and almost too pretty to drink. Came here for lunch w/my family on Saturday - it was very busy but the wait didn't feel too bad. We sat inside and upon walking in, I was blown away by how colorful and busy the place was. The decor itself is such a sight to see. Lots of options on the menu - we tried the shrimp omelette, the banana nut pancake, the chilaquiles & the chicken fried steak. That banana nut pancake was amazing, it was my favorite item and it reminded me of childhood because my mom would always make banana nut muffins! This place is a nice little breakfast eatery. The decoration is fun and the food is great. My daughter had the French Toast and said it tasted like churros, and she was right. It was great and the portion size is huge. I had the Avocado Toast and it was great. The seasoning, the bacon crumble, and the feta made the meal pop. We will most definitely be coming back here. The Violet Rooster is a fantastic little brunch spot with unique, charming decor and seriously generous portions. ​ PRO TIP: Reservations are highly recommended through Yelp! It is not a very large restaurant, so if you don't book ahead, expect to wait about 30 to 40 minutes for a table (which is exactly what we waited). Because of the cozy size, it's also probably not the best spot for big parties of more than 8 people. They do have both indoor seating and an outdoor patio option. ​Once we were seated, our server was incredibly friendly and attentive throughout the meal. We started with drinks--a Violet's Secret Mimosa and a Paloma--both were refreshing and well-made. ​For food, we ordered a bit of everything: ​Feta Me Betta: Egg whites scrambled with spinach, mushrooms, red bell pepper, turkey sausage, feta, and everything spice. It came with homestyle potatoes, fresh salsa, and a piece of sourdough. Heard this place was busy so we joined the waitlist online as we made our way to the restaurant and that made our wait faster. Burrito was delicious, I chose chorizo as my protein. The biscuits and gravy was okay, it tasted like it was missing something but I couldn't figure out what. There wasn't enough gravy that I was just eating the biscuit by itself. The interior was pretty cool and very different with the decorations. Only complaint is our waiter never checked up on us after our food was served so we kept having to find someone (anyone who passed by) for things we needed. We asked for a box and our check but only got the box. Then even after our plates were taken off the table, we waited 10min just for us to ask AGAIN for the check because our waiter was too busy chit chatting with the women next to our table. read more

The food was honestly delicious, we ordered the sandwich sammie with house potatoes, fluffy pancakes, and avocado toast with fruit, and everything was so yum. The vibes were cool, but I have to say the interior made me laugh a little, definitely not your typical aesthetic breakfast spot there were Christmas lights inside and it's pretty dim, which kind of adds to the charm in its own way. So much personality in this restaurant! We added ourselves to the waitlist around 11am on a weekend and got a call that our table was ready. I was amazed at how it looked inside. So vibrant and lively, and loved how the tables, chairs, and walls are decorated with such intention. The walls are personalized with travels, while all the chairs are handmade and painted as well. I loved hearing about heater behind everything! Food was delicious! Big portions and worth sharing. The breakfast burrito was tasty, and you can choose potatoes or tater tots on the side. We arrived early and waited outside with a bit of a line. Someone arrived and walked in and didn't say anything to the customers waiting outside. We all walked in and waited for someone to seat us. It was another few minutes before a second person arrived and sat everyone. He was the only server. One person in our group of 5 received the wrong order (pancakes instead of French toast). That individual also ordered the magic (I forget the name) but it was a mix of coffee and hot chocolate. There was no magic (sprinkles) so I asked the waiter for her to get them. As far as food... out of the five of us only two really loved their dishes. I ordered the tots and I swear it stated there was nacho cheese but they had queso. I do not like queso at all so I wouldn't have ordered them had it stated such on the menu. The tots were also soft, I would have preferred crispy. The country fried steak and the omelette with jalapeños got good reviews. The breakfast burrito was described as ok as well as the French toast. The salsa came for the burrito at the end of the meal as well. Maybe they had a server call out, maybe they always have just one. It was a far drive for me so I'm not sure I'd return. First time eating here with my mom. My mom was the one who found this restaurant on Google. I wasn't sure about the restaurant by the pictures of the food. We decided to try it out since the rating was pretty good. You never know until you try it. We were quickly seated, got to choose a table inside and saw one available table in the middle. A lot of decorations, which made me think of a boutique or an old small shop. Like the ones you see in Claremont or somewhere similar. The food was pretty good. They give way too much potatoes and French fries, but it's good for what the prices are. The French fries could have been cut a tiny bit larger and the potatoes could have had a little more seasoning. I guess that's what condiments on the table are for, but the potatoes were cooked pretty well, I could say better than the French fries in texture. The coffee is not the best, but sure better than Denny's. I would go try more of their food because after all the eggs were great! The option of Smuckers Jams are great, which they have orange marmalade, strawberry, grape and mixed berry (which I've never seen mixed berry at any restaurant). The one negative was although it seemed busy at first, the food came out quick, it was not that busy after we received our food. The workers kept walking back and forth in the backside to the kitchen, so was slow to get refill on our coffee. Update 6/19/26: I would recommend people to try this place out at least once, but thinking about it, maybe the meals are a little overpriced for being eggs and a lot of potatoes. read more

Came on a Sunday. We put our name on the virtual waiting list so we didn't have to stand around until a table was ready. When we got to the restaurant we were seated right away. I ordered the Cali-shrimptastic omelette and got it spicy like the pro tip suggested. It was absolutely delicious. At one point, I was full, but couldn't stop eating it!! I definitely recommend getting it spicy. The hubby ordered the Chicos chorizo Benedict and said he really enjoyed it. There were so many options on the menu, it was so hard to choose. Arrived on a Sunday morning around 8am. We were greeted right away and a table was cleared off for us. Once we were seated it took a while for anyone to check in to get a drink order in(coffee juice and a Bloody Mary). When the drinks arrived we ordered food. The food came out promptly, but the wait between interactions with staff steadily increased, despite there being more staff arriving. This was very frustrating. So much so we didn't order the other items we had intended to order. I ordered a fountain drink that never arrived. After watching 3 employees gather and chat while we attempted to get their attention for water we decided to get up and ask for boxes and the check. We visited this place after Eid and loved it, but the waiter that served us needs training on gluten free/celiac safe practices. Some of our order was incorrect and had to be replaced, and they were accommodating, but why even serve a burnt pancake in the first place? I am a pretty reactive celiac, and didn't have a reaction and the food was delicious. Another patron was told that they could have their toast replaced with one gf pancake and we wish we were told the same. The toast was more like soggy bread, and the potatoes looked like something that should have been thrown in the recycle bin. I've been there 3 times now and I can say this is a decent American style comfort food diner spot, with kind expedient staff. Inside looks cool with a lot of nice random stuff going on all over the walls and ceiling. It's also fantastic that you can reserve your spot on yelp so you don't arrive waiting in line. My main issue is the food quality you're getting for the price. I'm not getting anywhere near diner price, especially for the "good, not great" quality of food. My half stack banana pancake, feta omelette, and French toast was $57 before tip and nothing about it (aside possibly the French toast) was great. Staff is always friendly, and Katie was my kind server this time. Girlfriend and I reserved our spot on a Sunday early afternoon while we were 25 min away and our seats were ready when we got there, which was awesome. We ordered the feta scramble, banana walnut pancakes and French toast. The food came surprisingly fast, like less than 10min, which is impressive since it was fairly busy on Sunday afternoon. After trying the food, however, I would've appreciated more time in making the food better. The pancakes were absolutely drenched in whatever sauce it came in, there was no need for the syrup since this thing was drowning in the other liquid. It was also exceedingly sweet, so I could only stomach 4 bites and take the rest home. That may be the norm for their pancakes, but it's a first for me. The potatoes were bland, no flavor whatsoever. Just a crispy texture, that's it. The feta scramble was bland too, with the cheese only thing giving it flavor. The red sauce didn't help either. I've always liked their French toast and it didn't disappoint my girlfriend's first experience trying it. So that was nice. Overall, it's a "decent, not terrible" spot that offers cool decor and kind staff, consistently expedient service, and "ok" food. This is after 3 visits, so I'd ultimately say some of their other food is worth a try at least. Again, their downside is quality of some of their food vs price. I understand the egg shortage is influencing the price but that doesn't excuse bland potatoes and scramble, with drenched up pancakes for the high price. read more
