After all these years! We retired at least a decade ago and this was one of our breakfast stops on our way to work. Amazingly, its still a pretty darn good place for breakfast. Today's breakfast was a Sausage Scramble covered in a creamy country gravy that was oh, so good. Can't complain about the generous portion of great tasting sausage in my scramble. Better yet, there was plenty more to bring home. I could not love the biscuits however. These are not house made, a restaurant supplier failure, IMO. So what is so hard about making a real, flaky biscuit? Glad about the gravy, however. Portuguese Sausage and Eggs. The 1 1/2 sausages were plenty big and were cooked perfectly. Too bad they didn't taste as garlicky and spicy as we remembered. Different brand, I think. So, where can we find a great, spicy Portuguese sausage, I wonder? I love the old style lounge ambiance. They might have reupholstered since last time but they kept the oldies but goodies Lounge "look" I remember. Very nostalgic. And the service was just as outstanding as it always was. Sadly, it's not as convenient for us to visit here as it was 15 years ago. That's only because, after we retired, there was little reason to drive this far. But, I still have my fond memories and my bubble has not burst. We would definitely come back again. read more

Time to update my last review. We g Have always come here for breakfast but never dinner until now. I keep getting email to come for dinner. We got prime rib and shrimp scampi. I was actually surprised to not see it packed like this for breakfast. But bar area was happening lol. I got my prime rib and it was perfect for me. Meat was so tender it melted very delicious. The shrimp scampi was great too and perfect portion for my wife too. We enjoyed our dinner. read more

THIS place has all the ear marks of the best karaoke dive bars! We were greeted warmly when we walked through the door and the place was already humming with happy energy. Cheerfully conversing diners in booths and folks bellied up to the bar filled up the cozy space. Homey country style decorative touches, strings of white lights, leathery booths, and wood panels create a warm and rustic atmosphere. We came at the tail end of dinner and sadly, we missed the prime rib as they were sold out (get here early for prime rib & close to the action booth seating!). However, we enjoyed our meals, and the service was spot on. Now, this is not a handcrafted cocktail bar experience. This is a what-you-came-for generous pour over ice with your choice of mixer, and they'll just keep coming until you say otherwise. Our waitress, Tiffany, was super personable, friendly, here there & everywhere, and completely at ease with every guest she interacted with. But the main reason we were here was for the fabled karaoke! Roger kicks it off and keeps it rolling. The singers' choices ran from golden era standards to epic rock ballads and everything in between. Sing along, clap, dance in your seat or in the aisle - everybody joins in. There was a great feeling of bonhomie and camaraderie through music here. Whether you're this side of pro or off key with enthusiasm, this is the place for you! Everyone is a star here. We were referred to this place and honestly almost didn't go in at first-- from the outside, it looks more like a bar than a restaurant. But once we stepped inside, we were pleasantly surprised. It's actually a cute, country-style diner with cozy booths and charming wagon wheel decor that gives it a warm, welcoming vibe. We were immediately greeted by a lovely hostess who also ended up being our waitress. She was friendly, attentive, and very knowledgeable about the menu, which made the experience even better. We ordered the blueberry pancakes and the eggs Benedict, and both dishes were absolutely delicious. Everything was cooked perfectly, and you can tell they really care about the quality of their food. This place is truly a gem! The service was excellent. Everyone was so friendly and genuinely seemed to care about being there and making sure we had a great experience. The food was outstanding, and you can really taste the quality and tradition behind a restaurant that they have been serving up since 1957. Joe's recipes are the best! Obviously, we love the prime rib and the rib-eye steak. But you really should try the chicken alfredo. All of the soups are good. The desserts are excellent. Nothing is cheap anymore, but at least you get something good for the price. read more

First time eating at this restaurant for Valentine's Day. Loved the ambiance of the place and the staff was so friendly and welcoming. The food was good. We had the prime rib and the bone in ribeye. My only complaint was both the prime rib and ribeye lacked flavor. Other than that we had a great time and the prices were very reasonable. read more

More than three times the orders have been messed up, missing items and one time got a totally wrong order. Owner not take responsibility. was treated like wrong or was my fault. Had dinner tonight so I thought I update my old review from a year ago. My wife ordered the chicken cordon blue with mashed potatoes and a salad. It's her go to meal. My go to meal is the prime rib, end cut with baked potato, veggies and caldo de verde soup. As always the food is excellent and the service is better all the time. Next time I will order the porter house and try that. And yes we will be back. read more

The chicken barely had any of the lemon sauce. It was a dry piece of chicken w/ no sauce. Lack of vegetables for a to go order. Mashed potatoes had absolutely no flavor. I heard great things about this restaurant and trying it myself for the first time was very disappointing. Yuck. read more

We supported the Cockadoodle for many, many years. Lots of karaoke family parties, etc... However, I was treated very poorly after I cracked a crown on a piece of glass in my salad one time. When I handed them the invoice to my dentist they were shocked, and then took their time paying me. I thought well, it must take some time while they contacted their insurance company. We still visited the restaurant during that time. Finally after the third time asking them for the payment, the husband owner approached our table, and when he was about two feet away, he tossed a check at us and walked away, without even apologizing. I couldn't believe how rude he was. Not only that...the check was short $50! I was so upset. I know accidents happen, and I wasn't holding anything against them...I wasn't threatening them or sueing them or even reporting them to the Better Business Bureau! I just thought it was only fair he should pay for my cracked crown. We all know how expensive they are! And I was the one who had to go through the hassle of going to the dentist visits and the painful shots and discomfort of having my crown replaced. We have not returned to their restaurant since, even though I miss it and the fun times and good food we had there. I can no longer support them or recommend them after the poor way they treated me. read more

Hats off to Mercedes! The ambiance was pleasant with fun music. The service was extraordinary (we sat in the bar) we normally go and have appetizers with drinks. We were there about 5:30pm and ordered dinner. Ohhh my goodness!! The food was delicious! We ordered the Shrimp appetizer, prime rib with baked potato, filet mignon and a rib eye dinner! From the moment we walked into the Bar Tiffany our waitress as well as bar staff welcomed us in, ordered a few beers Ice Cold! Highly recommend the chicken wings they cooked to perfection! I had the Cowboy ribeye and wife had Chicken and Shrimp both entrees cooked to perfection, if that wasn't enough we indulged in their cheesecake, this was a mountain of a slice! I put in an order for pick up, so when I went to get the food I didn't know what door I should have went through but I ended up in the back. I found an entrance and when I walked in it was a bar. Looked like an old school bar! I'm sure this place hasn't changed in years but I miss going to places like this . I knew I was in the right place so I asked for directions and they led me to the Restaurant. When I got there, which was only a few feet away I walked in the cozy dining area. Again I looked around and knew this had to be local gem. The dining area was nice and cozy and decorated. I have should have just came here to dine in. Next time for sure and I'll bring people with me. Food was great when I got home. Pancakes were fluffy and the Rib eye was juicy. I will definitely be coming back . read more

A visit that took decades. So back story my parents moved to the area in the 1960sand herd of a place in chino with amazing chicken. They decided to give it a try the line was long eventually they went elsewhere. Well Mom got to go all be it a different menu today. She had the fried shrimp and minestrone soup. I had the Ortega sandwich as it was lunch. The shrimp were beer battered and large with good flavor . Her soup looked homemade and was a large portion of. She opted for onion rings as her side. The sandwich fad a generous portion of roast beef Ortega chili and cheese. This a a bar & restaurant so it was loud. The bar is dark with stone on one wall that has various liquor bottles imbedded in it. Service was friendly the prices are reasonable , parking is in a lot behind the bar. I would go again . Mom was happy to have finally gone despite not getting fried chicken. read more

We were customers when we'd go dine at the Royal Cut years. The food there and the service was always outstanding, with Judy, Myra and Gab the servers/waiters always there to see that everything was perfect!!!
