Here's the deal with Floor & Decor: It's a warehouse for tile and some other forms of flooring, and products move fast. You may get some things cheaper than the big box stores sell for, but they may also run out and never restock, so if you see something you like, you'd better get it now. They seem to have a lot of items, but if you're looking for something specific, you may not find it. In other words: bargain hunters can't be too picky. They sell to the public, not just contractors, so I started out here just to look, and quickly found out that you can make an appointment with one of their designers to get some personal advice. Rafael met with me and put together a beautiful complementary array of tiles for two bathrooms. He's an artist with an architecture school background. She who hesitates is lost, however, and I thought it over for a week or two while I looked for contractors. So they ran out of one of my main tile choices, and also my second choice. Sigh. If you take out samples, be prepared to pay for them at the register, but they'll refund your money when you bring them back. If you don't have your receipt, you have to use the same credit card and have them pull up your account, which you'll make when you buy the samples. Management says the return policy is 90 days. Lots of contractors and designers seem to shop here. So if you're the decisive type, go for it. Make an appointment to meet with one of their designers if you want some help. read more

Bought many thousands of $ of Duralux luxury vinyl plank flooring for my new build home. Within hours of install the flooring tented/ buckled up from sunlight....in spite of being advertised as suitable for sunrooms. The vinyl flooring planks were not touching the walls or otherwise restricted from expanding. Much of the flooring is going to have to be pulled up and now glued down with much of the original flooring lost in the process. Tried to get Floor & Decor to address this product failure. Via F&D, a supposedly 3rd party floor inspector visited my home and prepared a report full of inaccuracies and outright falsehoods as a basis for rejecting my claim. Even the Atlanta BBB (at F&D's HQ) tried to address my issues with Floor & Decor. F&D refused to consider and just kept referring to the bogus report. F&D took no responsibility for the product they sold and refused to reveal the contact info for the manufacturer of the flooring. I suspect this flooring company has less than an arms length relationship with either Floor & Decor or it's executives. This whole experience has but me off Floor & Decor permanently along with this Duralux flooring product which as far as I'm concerned is not fit for purpose. read more

They are not helpful...and the person on the phone was actually being rude Update: they did pay attention and reach out. Horrible customer service!! 2x i have needed additional tile for our project and when I ask if they have it they say they do and make we wait over an hour while they look for it!! I have never shopped at stores that can't find there merchandise. After waiting an hour they are sending me to there other store. I wish I hadn't bought here or buy enough where you can return what is not needed and even that is a challenge. On top of the inconvenience to me the customer employees are annoyed they are having to look or call to verify merchandise. It's like I work for them read more

If it wasn't for the sales Rep Frank Gonzales being so helpful and making sure all of my questions were answered I would have given 1 star. I was first "helped" by Robert Patton, who is shockingly the store manager. I asked him about a sample flooring they had displayed on an end cap. Started off by saying was new and have no idea what floor it is and they are about to change all the displays. I then asked if he could show me flooring that was comparable to the display. He told me to "just browse the website until I found what I liked". He then radios Frank Gonzales to help me bc he could not. I have never experienced such blatant disinterest in a customer. There was no one who could help me ask a simple question about wood, and no one aside from one sweet and helpful young man, Curtis, showed any interest in assisting me. I spoke to the manager about the attitude of the staff and the complete lack of customer service. I'll be giving the other location my business. read more

The service I received at this store was horrible. The initial consultation was great. Courtney Haverman in pro services at the Braker store was extremely helpful. After that, I was not able to reach anyone by phone (NO ONE), and when I went by the store, no one at the pro desk knew how to schedule an appointment for me to speak to Courtney. She was busy with appointments, and did not have time to respond to my text messages regarding my existing job. I will be taking me project elsewhere. I realize that everyone is short staffed right now. If I weren't so disappointed in your service, I would offer to answer your phones for free. read more

Only reason I gave them 2 stars is because the first person to help me a week ago was super nice. I bought 300 feet of 4 inch tile. Only about 2 thirds were here in austin. The rest was in San Antonio. If I wanted it, I needed to go get it otherwise it would take 3 to 4 weeks. Okay... road trip. I get there and we pick up our tile with no problems. I pick up some end caps, (the only ones on the shelf), and on my way back to austin. I get back and realize that the end caps are too long by 2 inches. I go back to the Austin store, and I approach a gentleman who appears to be a manager. I felt like I bothering him when I told him the my end caps were too short. He asked me if I looked for them, I said I did but did not find any the size I need. I asked, would he look with me, and with a huff from him..... we went. He said they were out. I asked if they could get me 6 pieces, his response was, they will not make me six as they need to make thousands at a time. We, screw me i guess... then I asked him if he had any suggestions where I could go? He said, with out googling it, he had no idea. Hmmmmmm helpful I guess. Then he suggested I cut them. This is the only place you should look for Tile and Flooring!!!! I am having my second bathroom renovated. I got everything for the master and guest bathrooms from here over a year ago. . The master bathroom was done a year ago but the guest bath was not. Now I have totally changed my mind. I brought back all the stuff that I initially selected for the guest bath and the "overage" from the master bath. Alisha has helped me with three different transactions over the past week. She inventoried ALL of my TILES today...and I mean all - I had 2 flatbeds. When I got to the check out with all the new stuff, it was seamless. She called a manager to discuss my return and new purchase. They were both kind, pleasant and extremely helpful. Also a shout out to Rafael who help me select my new tile. This is a great place to shop for floor products. The location is fairly convenient at 183 and West Braker Lane. The prices are what got my attention. I just purchased 13" x 13" quality ceramic floor tile to install in a fraternity laundry room for $1.09 a tile. This is a great price!!! Installation is not included in their pricing but Floor & Decor has a list of qualified contractors if you need one. I'm going back with another client to look at hardwoods. Oh, and the staff is so helpful. They stand at the check out counter and offer to carry out your goods. Always compare prices but I think when you check this place out--you'll be glad you did. Just know that this is the product and you will need a flooring contractor to install your selection. Floor & Decor has a list of contractors if you should need help in that area. read more

While their selection and prices are great I found their professionalism lacking. There are always a ton of employees just standing around talking with each other instead of offering help or advice. We just bought 700 sq. feet of Exotica Walnut Porcelain Tile and when we were checking out the clerk was less than stellar. All the employees look bored and like they can't wait until their shifts are over. So to sum up. Prices good. Employee helpfulness and friendliness bad. read more

I do shop here because of the selection and prices. But when I have received any customer assistance, it's been worse than have none at all. First trip: I loaded up a cart with 8 boxes of flooring myself, while a group of 5 employees stood nearby. No questions, no assistance, and by nearby I mean I actually had to ask one of them to move so I could get the boxes. While walking around the corner, one of them assisted me in putting all of my boxes back and taking my cart to the front. I said nothing, got another cart and started loading the boxes once more. They noticed this time and laughed at the employee who put my boxes back. Again offering no help. Each of these were young men at least half my age and probably double my size. Next trip: Had to ask customer service employee to step aside because after 15 minutes of chatting, he never noticed I was standing waiting to look at the wood floor behind him. Last trip: No customer service at all. Which I think I prefer. The check-out people have always been nice. read more

This warehouse is about half (maybe less) of the size of the warehouse in Houston. I felt like they had very few 13x13" or similarly sized ceramic/porcelain tile choices -- most were very basic. They do however have a very large selection of ceramic tile that looks like wood - maybe 5 different kinds of Exotica brand tiles (I got the cherry, a medium brown with a reddish tint) and maybe 5-6 other styles of wood-looking tiles. I concur with previous posters, the employees are usually conversing with one another and don't seem to be in any hurry to help at all. PS, my new floors look awesome. read more

I'm pretty sure I already left a review here, but here it goes again if I overlooked it. This place is freaking amazing. Ring the alarm. Better than your local home improvement stores. They have a much better selection. The service is twice as great, and it's cheaper. There are people constantly walking around to help you. I was terrified of going in to buy my gazzilion boxes of white subway tile. I thought I'd end up seeing the Chiropractor by the end of the day. To my surprise, I didn't have to lift a finger. Without even asking for help my material was loaded on my cart and unloaded in my car. I just pointed, counted and smiled. Here is the kicker. They declined my tip. Ladies, you NO LONGER have to fear hauling and carrying tiles, backsplash, flooring, etc. The guys at Floor & Decor will hook you the heck up. Wow is all I can say. I asked for help and a sales person told me can't help me. I needed a pallet tie cut so I can take individual boxes. He handed me a blade. Are you serious? I, a woman of 125 pounds hauled 6 boxes, easily 50 pounds each, into my cart. People all over no one stopped to help. I don't think the savings here are worth it. Big store with a lot of options. We are working on a backsplash product. Found several samples we liked. The staff was very helpful and friendly. We ended up taking 5 samples and some trim home (they make you buy the samples), and had no problem returning all of it. We ended up buying tile from a different store, but lived a lot of what we saw and the experience we had here. read more

I'm building 26 homes and 250 apartments. Several commercial buildings and more. I've always loved floor & decor and wanted to use them as my main supplier... but today they yelled at my wife for not making my 3 year old son where a mask. She tried but he's 3... they followed her around the store and if she took her mask of to deal with our two kids (1 and 3) they yelled at her and made her leave in shame. 6 ft of distance means nothing. We have bought tile both times here. I think they have a great selection and the price is reasonable for tile projects. As with the other reviews you have to go and try to find someone to help you. Most of employees are wandering around or occupied doing something else. Seems like everytime I am in there its never a quick in and out experience. Between getting someone to help you and check out it takes forever. But if you know what you want and willing to be patience, still a great place to get samples, ideas on your flooring needs. FYI...just had to order a few extra tiles on their website, they will charge you at least a minimum of $10 in shipping for a few tiles. I had no choice since they were out of tiles at the Austin warehouse. read more

Specially a gent called Frank Gonzales, he is the main reason we choose this store to do business with. I placed an online order yesterday for pickup today. I live in far south Austin so I wanted to pick up on a day I'd need to travel up north already. I finished up with my errands around 4 and had yet to receive an email saying that my order was ready. I went to the store anyway to see what I could find out. I wandered around inside and every associate was busy and there was only one register open with about 10 people in line. I was finally able to track someone down and they said "you'll just have to drive around back to see if they can help you." I go back out to my car, drive around back and there is a line of about 5 cars waiting. I sat there for 30 minutes and not a single associate came out during that whole time even though I saw about 5 walking around in the warehouse. It was just so confusing because there was no information about what to do. I was so frustrated that I just left. I want to cancel my order, but couldn't get through to anyone on the phone at the store. I tried the online virtual assistant - "no agents available" so then it directs you to contact through their online form. Tried that, but it doesn't submit. Fun! I'm out $200 and still no tile. I refuse to go back to this location for another headache. This was so extremely frustrating to me. I honestly have no clue what's next or how to get my money back. read more

3rd time shopping there and always get great help. I disagree with other reviews about the employees. I find it like any hardware store, you sometimes have to wait to talk to someone because they give you a lot of attention when it's your turn. I got the attention I needed as well as the advice and the consideration for my budget. 4 stars because selection can be tricky - you have to make sure there's enough quantity for your project. But Jeremy, Chad and Gary all helped me recently with my last purchase and took me to other similar items when the one I wanted didn't have enough in stock. Very cheerful employees. Good selection for what you pay. I spent $650 for 120sf of very nice travertine tile and glass backsplash - 4 different styles for a bathroom. Jeremy helped me with colors. Gary and Chad helped me hand pick from the palate to find 160 pieces and make sure none were chipped or broken. Loaded every bit of it into my car for me. If I could rate different aspects of Floor & Decor it would give you a more accurate picture, hence I went with 3 starts. I recently purchased this really hip marble tile for our new master bath and we were stoked, it was going to be the show piece. Unfortunately, every single piece of this awesome tile had scratches and chips rendering it useless. We didn't realize every piece was damaged until the installer started putting it up on the wall. I won't bore you with the details but it was kind of a complicated return and Supervisor JEREMY was ultra helpful. As were ALEXIS & AMBER - all three of these employees were courteous, professional and very helpful. 5 stars to these fine folks. However, to complete our transaction required the stores manager - My interaction with him was very unpleasant, he was passive-aggressive, acted like he didn't have time to take care of me and even insulted me to my husband when I left the counter! Totally unacceptable. Really, really poor customer service. To make matters worse - he failed to reimburse us for our entire return. Negative 1 star for management. Luckily, we phoned back and JEREMY again took great care of us! Pros - Good price point, good selection, they keep up with your orders so returning merchandise is (usually) easy. Find Jeremy, Alexis or Amber - they will take good care of you. Cons - Inspect your product BEFORE you leave the store cause they see no problem in putting damaged goods on the shelf. Also, be sure to do everything in your power to avoid speaking with a manager, their customer service is less than exemplary. Take aways - Its totally worth giving it a shot, just be diligent and find an associate you feel comfortable with and work solely with them. Good Luck! read more

After my first experience at Floor & Decor where it took hours to pull product out of the warehouse last year, I had to go back. I needed more tile to extend the existing tile to another room. Fortunately, they still had the tile in stock. I was met at the door, where the salesman loaded the cart with tile, thin set and grout. I pulled my truck up front and he loaded it. This was a much better experience than the last time. Maybe it helped that the tile I needed was at the front of the store! Over, a great improvement from my previous visit. read more

Nice that it's a big store with all the stock right out in front of you. A bit odd that the boxes are all open and the tile is priced per tile, yet they aren't barcoded, so if you just want to buy one tile, as a sample, you get to the checkout, they have no idea which one you have. So a tip is to note down the name and price from the sign. It was odd to me that they have installers wandering around asking if you're finding everything ok. I actually asked one girl (not knowing she wasn't an employee) a question when she spoke to me and she answered just fine. But then another guy (in a store vest) asked me if I was doing ok right after her and I was like, wait, who did I just talk to? She didn't have on a vest. Did I ask another customer a question? I mentioned it to the guy, who said those are installers who they "let in the store" to try to get new business. A little strange. All in all, I found them nice, though, and our check-out girl was really sweet (yes, sweet!) when she noticed my 3 year-old daughter was getting a little nervous in the big store and she mentioned she was always scared of big stores as a child, and still is! read more

Twice I have been in this store and it is impossible to get anyone who works there to help you. Everyone is always too busy to stop and help a customer in the store and completely overlooks you when you ask anyone for help. Do yourself a favor and order online. Don't bother going into the store. Guess what you need and avoid any contact with people that physically work in the shop. They will ignore you anyway. read more

I placed the order on Friday and they promised delivery on Monday by 6PM. Delivery company went twice to pick up the merchandise and tiles and other materials were not ready. Now next delivery is on Wednesday. This is very bad where I have to reschedule the install job and it will be all delayed for whole week. I am very upset for such a lousy job. I had an excellent experience at Floor & Decor. I built my house from the ground up, so I had a hard time picking the right combination of tiles that would match the house style. Luckily, my wife and I had the help of Rafael Salguero to make all those hard choices. Rafael is an excellent designer, he really knows his stuff. I picked out the flooring I wanted and decided to use their online pickup service instead of going into the store and pulling the boxes I needed off the shelf. I knew they would be heavy for me to lift. BIG mistake. After waiting a couple of hours and hearing nothing about my order, I called them. Even though they had not started on my order yet (pulling 8 boxes from the store shelf), I was told to come pick my order. When I got there, the outside texting software did not work and I had to go into the warehouse. I was told it would be at least a 30 min wait before someone could go into the customer section and pull the boxes off the shelf. Needless to say, their pickup service was awful. read more

Long story short, no one ever wants to help me or answer questions. I've never been offered help there. They seem annoyed by me. We have been sitting at the loading doc for 30 min and still waiting to get our merchandise. The customer service is horrible and it seems management has no idea how to manage their people. If they did, this place would run effective and efficient which is far from it. Their is no one in front of us and there are 3 trucks behind ours waiting for their merchandise plus an 18 wheeler! Let me start by saying if it weren't for the actions of a certain super star employee - Frank - my review would have been 3-star at best. On the plus side, the prices are great as is the selection. Customer service can be a little iffy, however. Unless you happen to be fortunate enough to encounter an employee who really cares about their job your experience might feel like you're in a self-serve establishment. I don't care to dwell on the negatives so I'll accentuate the positives. Another great employee - Ryan - went out of his way to help me find what I needed while I was shopping. He even loaded my order himself because the folks in the loading department were swamped. When I got home I discovered that one of the boxes of laminate was the wrong color, however. Since I live in Dripping Springs it would be inconvenient for me to return to the store to swap that box out. I called the store to explain my predicament and was eventually routed to Frank who saved the day. He offered to bring the correct box of laminate TO MY HOUSE and take the wrong box back to the store. Not only did he do this but he called to let me know when the box was delivered and that he left it inside my gate so no one would be tempted to steal it. Wow. Talk about turning things around. 5-star service! As an addendum, I'd also like to give a shout out to the manager of the store, Robert Patton. He followed up with me via email to apologize for the mishap and to make sure I was totally happy.
