We are very satisfied with Q construction and are glad we chose them for our significant remodel…read more There are several things that worked well for us. 1. The quality of work was high, which is of course most important. Our home is wonderful and we feel blessed to live here again. 2. The bottom up planning and implementation process was very transparent. We knew the cost of each item and were able to make informed decisions about where we want to spend and where we want to save. 3. We had worked with designer so we knew what we wanted and had plans for execution. But as they say, no plan survives first contact with the enemy. Q did an excellent job of identifying issues and developing solutions. The end result is well beyond where we started, and much of that is from their creativity, attention to detail, and experience. We hope to not remodel again, but if we did, we'd choose Q.

From start to finish, the team was exceptional. Their attention to detail was second to none, and every member of the crew treated our home with care and respect. They kept the work site incredibly clean (which made a huge difference during a long renovation), and their communication throughout the entire project was flawless. We always knew what to expect, and they were proactive about updates and timelines. More than just contractors, the Q Construction team truly cared about the quality of their work, about our experience, and about bringing our vision to life. The final result completely exceeded our expectations. They masters of their craft. If you're looking for a construction partner who is skilled, communicative, and genuinely thoughtful, I can't recommend Q Construction Solutions highly enough. We look forward to working with them on our next project, and all of our future home renovations!

This was an excellent experience working with SKY-LAN Services…read more I had a half-attic that was water damaged and Skylur and his team were excellent! They showed up in advance, gave me a quote that was competitive and knocked out the project in a day. I'd be happy to recommend them any one and any job! Best, Kevin H.

I've owned my home in Austin for 15 years. I've seen every type of contractor you can imagine. I'm…read moreproud to say that I have FINALLY found the best one yet: Sky-Lan. I'm calling them for everything that I need from here on out. Skylur came recommended to me by an electrician I trust. I had just finished paying another contractor 50% of the job when he flat-out disappeared on me and left me with a half-demo'd hall and bath (yep, tale as old as time). Skylur was extremely sympathetic to my situation and came over immediately! He looked at the current gutted bathroom and provided a quote within a couple of days. The quote was extremely fair for such a large amount of detailed work. His quote was less than ABC who wanted more money for far less work (ABC was just going to do patch jobs...but Skylur removed and replaced all drywall so it was perfectly seamless and brand new!) Skylur is patient, professional, and knows exactly what he's talking about and how to best solve a problem. He answers every single call or text right away. The communication is outstanding; fast, clear and always "yes, can do!" which is huge for me. He doesn't push back or say "well...that'll cost more." He just happily gets it done for the price he quoted and sticks by his word. For this project, I needed pocket door installation, major drywall repair, new baseboards, new trim, prime/painting, vanity installation, electric work. It was a very detailed and technical job (and I am admittedly pretty OCD when it comes to my house projects). Skylur made some smart suggestions that would not only get the job done, but look 1000% times better--aka: brand new. Our old hallway and bathroom were dark, crusty (bad caulk jobs over the years) with layers and layers of terrible texture and paint. Look at the photos and you'll see what a difference Sky-Lan made. Our new hallway and bath are bright, clean and about as perfect as I could ask for. Our kids finally have a bathroom that's bright and fun. There was a team of two who worked every day from 8:30am until past 6pm until the job was done. They protected the floor, covered all the walls and worked quickly and quietly. Every evening, Skylur would personally come over to inspect the work and make a plan for the next day. If I had any questions or concerns, Skylur was there to address them. We would walk through the progress for the day and I could just point to things I was thinking about. His answer to every question was "Yep, we can do that" or "Yes, we'll get that taken care of." Every night, the team swept, cleaned up all tools and materials, and removed the old plastic from the walls. Then the next day, they set up new plastic and got right to work, minimizing dust. Drywall/demo can be messy, but they were the neatest, most respectful crew I've seen yet. I even had a few huge ceiling cracks with some water damage in a nearby living room. While they had the materials, Skylur's team fixed those cracks and painted the repaired part of the ceiling and wall at no extra charge. And not once did Skylur say that something would cost extra to do it right. He just did it the right way to begin with. There was never any nickel and diming. Even after I paid in full, Skylur came back over to touch up a few things and install the pocketdoor hardware that I ordered. He also helped plumb the sink for the new vanity when I couldn't quite get it myself. Learn from me: don't hire the "guy with a truck" to save some money (that guy will take the money and run). And don't hire the big ABC guys off the internet who just want to charge the most money for the least work. Hire Sky-Lan for the personal service and attention to every detail on your job. His crew is talented and put a lot of time and effort into the job. The craftsmanship is top-notch. And as we all know, no job is perfect. So if there's something you see that you want done just a little differently, his team will do it with no questions asked. Skylur does not charge you until you say the job is done. No other contractor does that. He's truly one of the greats, and I'm glad I found him. Just wish I knew about him 15 years ago! Skylur and Sky-Lan are my new go-to contractors. Hire them, get the job done quickly and beautifully for a price you're comfortable with--then move on to the next project with Sky-Lan!

His crew started painting and making repairs on December 5. The job included painting the interior and exterior of my home, two porches and a deck and the exterior of my detached garage. They also painted my kitchen and bathroom cabinets. In addition, they replaced damaged wood siding on home and garage, replaced laundry room doors, cabinet pulls, resurfaced bathroom tub and surround, recarpeted bedroom, installed new attic stairs, 7 smoke detectors and repaired termite damage in one bedroom. They finished all this work and did a walkthrough in record time on January 12. I can't say enough about how impressed I am with Jonathan and his crew! They were so accommodating, answered my many questions and honored my every request. Best contractor I've ever worked with. We…read morereceived several quotes but went with Joy because I felt very comfortable with her and she was easy to work with. She has lived in or around my neighborhood for decades and I liked that her shop was just up the street. Her crew was very respectful, professional, always on time and willing to answer any (and all!) questions. It was a long project and there were usually two people in our house for 6 weeks. Like I said - it was a full gut to the studs and then built back out. The project was completed on time and the changes to quote/contract were only due to requests and changes we made. There were never any surprises. They laid down floor coverings every morning to protect the hallway, front entry and bedroom and then cleaned up every day when they left. They did our master bathroom first. They ripped out a 40+year old tub/shower combo insert, toilet, vanity, mirror, popcorn ceiling, etc. They built a custom shower floor, moved the drain and installed new plumbing. They tiled the floor, the walk-in shower and a full wall of tile behind the toilet and vanity. The end result was beautiful and the work was fantastic. There will always be questions and some touch up on a project this size but they were always quick to fix anything that I noticed seemed "off" to me and even came back on a Saturday to check on a non-emergency item that they knew we were anxious to have completed. They did the guest bathroom after the master was complete. Same thing - ripped out an old tub/shower insert, removed everything down to the studs, removed popcorn, etc. They then installed a brand new tub, toilet, plumbing, vanity, mirror, and added some electrical. They tiled the floor and around the shower, build a custom shelf at one end of the tub, installed a light tube (a great way to bring natural light into a dark bathroom/hallway!) and installed the vanity, mirror and lights. Joy and her team were a pleasure to work with and very helpful when I had questions about some final decisions I had to make. They offered suggestions when I asked. Thanks Zach, Donna, Felix, Stephen and Eduardo!

We purchased our kitchen during IKEA kitchen sales - and realized later it is a pain to find the right crew to do it, as a lot of general contractors out there are either not willing to touch IKEA products or to charge ridiculous amount to read through the manuals. Of course we can go with IKEA partner - but they are kinda on the expensive side and so swapped due to the sales event. I met with Joy and Donna - both are very knowledgeable and decided to work with them. Joy's crew worked hard to stick with the agreed timeline and the quality is beyond expectation. From the very beginning the quote Joy sent over was itemized, clear and precise. They also have a very comprehensive contract to sign with you (I was surprised to see some of the companies dont do that!). Before signing - all the terms and clauses are carefully explained. During the process - her crew is NEVER LATE. Actually they are often early! Martinez led the project and he is very dedicated, detail oriented and patient. He helped answer all my questions (yes it is very important for a remodeling new-bee). Whenever there is a problem he would always make sure to walk me through the options and offer his professional opinion. The office crew is amazing to work with as well - they are very responsive, willing to listen and accommodate. We had one minor fix after the remodeling and when I raised the question, the office sent their guy over right away. Overall I will definitely recommend them!

Working with them regarding billing and what was considered in and out of scope was a nightmare. Despite my best efforts to make sure we were on the same page in regards to what I wanted done and making sure it was on the invoice it did not stop the invoices for extra work coming out saying it was out of scope. I agreed with the first change order regarding a bench but when more change orders and invoices started showing up with no heads up is when I started asking questions. And even when I said that I told them to give me a heads up on out of scope work, I still got new invoices for out of scope work. $1200 for extra hours for sloping the shower pan, $200 for extra trash removal, $600 for extra plumbing work. TLDR: Lowest Bid, Still great work, but expect them to nickel and dime you until it is done.
