It's really easy to maintain, resists water and normal wear with proper upkeep. While I liked my salesperson, the rest of the experience bordered on surreal. The first and second days I had a crew of about 12 people working in my house for about 14 hours each day. The crew left the second day and reported they were done. However, they had damaged my flooring during the install in several places, improperly installed bowed molding in a few more, had inconsistent molding cuts in the doorways, among other installation issues. I've included just a few pictures to highlight their work. There were many instances of each example. I think I had them out 4 times to replace flooring the installers damaged and fix improperly installed molding. There are other smaller issues I won't go into detail about that revolve around excessive use of caulk and not cleaning up after themselves. The salesperson asked me to write lists of what I needed addressed, which I did, several more times over a week or so. One of the things that was a challenge for me was knowing what the new flooring should look like and dealing with installers who had mysogenistic attitudes towards a female when I'd correct their work, as the salesperson asked me to do. They even had the audacity to curse me in Spanish, thinking I wouldn't know the word they were using. I was dismayed to find such a lack of support from the company's representatives, and the lack of respect and workmanship of their installers. We eventually got the flooring done. I decided I preferred to have a few issues I had to fix myself rather than have their workers in my house again. I was also tired of having to clean up after their workers. Every time they came into my house I had to dust, vacume, and mop. It was comical watching them trying to vacume the carpets in an adjacent room with a vacume cleaner that was overfilled with dust from another job. The workers didn't bother to try and contain the mess, even when I provided plastic sheeting to them. I provided them a bill for the services I'd provided that they'd promised and not provided, and was compensated. I wouldn't say don't use this company, they offer very competitive rates. If you don't live in the building they're working on, they'd probably do fine. If you don't mind having to do reiterative quality checks, great. If you're planning on doing your own clean up, even better. If you're one of the people who's moved here from the NE, you'll enjoy the opportunity to get into heated arguments with the installers every day.

They did a fast job and renovated my entire house in 1 month, which would normally take 2-3 months. However when I sold the house, the inspector found major issues including a deck that was built not to code. Normally it would be fine because TJ will cover the work. Unfortunately, the work was so poor that the buyers did not trust TJ to fix it and refused that option. In the end it costed me a lot of money to credit the buyers so they can fix with someone else. TJs did not credit me back when I brought it up. I notice when things are going well, it's great. When I put some pressure or call out some things, they avoid conflict and not be as communicative, almost like avoidant attachment style. Overall I do really like the entire crew but they did cost me a lot of money so that's very unfortunate. I'm very well connect since I flip houses and have many friends and investors looking for top contractors and I would have easily given TJs so much work but i have given all the work to other contractors after this situation.

I would have to text or email MULTIPLE times to get a response from Cristy. The finish work was awful. Within a few months, the floors started lifting and separating. When her husband came and looked at the floors, he said to me the person who installed my floors installed theirs and they had the same problem. When I asked why he was still working for them, he ignored the question and kept talking. After some back and forth, they agreed to redo the living room, hallway and laundry room. My bedroom, at the time, seemed fine. They did not redo the laundry room as promised. I had to wait several weeks for the transition pieces and then I had to contact Cristy to find out the status. They left my house FILTHY!! They didn't even bother sweeping the floors. The stuff they used to level the floors - which should have been done the first time - was all over my baseboards. It's had dried and most of it never came off. August/September 2023 my bedroom floors started lifting and separating badly - as did the living room again and laundry room got worse as it was not actually redone. I reached out again asking for a refund given all the issues. Cristy said she didn't have the money as she was now more in a consulting role. I then asked for all the floor to be replaced at no charge. She went silent again. I tired to file a complaint with the BBB but it was 2 months outside the 1 year timeframe so I couldn't. I made one last plea for her to do something to make this right. She said she would see what could be done and I never heard from her again. I finally sent one last email saying I didn't have the heart or strength to deal with this anymore. I paid $8,840.09 and my floors are awful and nothing I can do about it at this point. I have every text conversation and email ever sent/received so I can 1000% back up what I'm saying.

I've waited a while to write this because the owners of MG Floors are friendly, personable people…read more They offer a low-pressure sales environment and were great about letting us keep samples for an extended time. However, after a few years of living with the results, I feel obligated to warn others: being nice does not equal quality workmanship or professional accountability. We were very clear about our "active kid" lifestyle (cleats, sports bags, etc.). We were assured multiple times that Luxury Vinyl Plank was a great durable option for us. We purchased one of their more expensive LVP lines (Coretec), yet it has performed significantly worse than the "low-quality 90s laminate" it replaced. The LVP is covered in dents and scratches from all the same normal things the laminate flooring handled without a blemish for many years. Installation week was a mess. Despite being home to answer questions, the crew made executive decisions without consulting us, many of which had to be corrected later. They didn't provide us with arrival times or communicate about the progress unless we asked, and even then they didn't show up at the times they gave us. The only phone number provided was the office number so there wasn't anyone to call for an update when they didn't arrive as expected. We were also hit with a surprise bill for extra leveling compound (they quoted us 3 bags but used 24 which was an additional $735), which makes the eventual failure of the leveling (details below) even more frustrating. Our furniture was moved around and stacked in whatever room they weren't working in and all of it had dents and dings in it when they were finished. They also had to come back and replace the new flooring in one room where they had rolled our piano over it, leaving indentations behind from its heavy weight. We incorrectly assumed underlayment would be included because every other estimate we got included it but MG chose not to use underlayment because it was "recommended, not required" and we didn't realize this until they were halfway done with installation. Every contractor we've spoken to since has shaken their head at this. We began to notice issues with the flooring itself only a couple months in and these have progressively worsened. We had a small bump in the kitchen floor from day one. MG came back to look at it and said they could not help us and suggested we contact the manufacturer (Shaw/Coretec) to escalate which we did. The representative determined the subfloor was not leveled properly and deemed this an installation problem. Despite their own suggestion to involve the manufacturer, MG Floors refused to fix the issue unless we paid them to come back and repair it (we did not). That spot has now cracked. Additionally, small flooring pieces near the edges of our cabinets weren't glued down and they've now slipped out of place under the quarter round, leaving visible gaps at the edges of the floor. MG installed new baseboards as part of the job which they painted after installation, essentially painting them to the floor. Now, there are large, ugly cracks in the paint where the two meet. Photos are included to illustrate what an eyesore this is. We reached out to MG multiple times via email, phone, and in person, and pleaded with them to make this right but they took zero accountability for their installation errors or their poor recommendations for our lifestyle. The only resolution they offered was for us to pay them more money to come back and replace individual damaged planks of flooring. Needless to say, we declined. If you want a floor that lasts more than six months and a company that stands behind their work, I strongly recommend looking elsewhere.
