Really cool local place. The first time we ate there my wife and I both got the bourbon chicken plate and were unimpressed as the chicken appeared formed, and it was marginal in the taste department. However the second time I had a burger and it was fantastic. We like the atmosphere and of course the beer! Will be back to try more on the menu. read more

Terrible service. Water glasses were never filled, were empty when we left and the waiter said absolutely nothing when giving us the bill. If you have elderly folks in your party, they will not be allowed to order from the smaller meals listed on the 12 and under menu. We will not return. read more

I used to go here weekly from Salado. Still great beer but the menu changes are extremely disappointing Bring back the menu

Service is wonderful. Very quick. Super attentive. The beer is great. The black IPA is very good The food is meh. Ive been here 3 times and each time the food was unimpressive. I'm pretty sure the pretzel is frozen and reheated. The fried fish is bland. The burger is ok. Go for the beer if you're nearby. The staff is wonderful. Oh and they allow dogs outside. read more

Great nachos, and the unexpected treat was the fish and chips, fantastic!! The beer is pretty good as well. read more

We visited for the first time and will definitely be back! Kristen provided excellent service, the food was fantastic, and both cocktails and beer were tasty. I tried the hefeweizen and kolsch and enjoyed both. The covered patio was the perfect setting for a lovely spring day. Look forward to the next visit! read more

I have lived in Liberty Hill/Leander for 3 years now. I like to support local businesses. I have tried to give Hell or High Water the benefit of the doubt. Unfortunately, it is just not worth it. Went to brunch this morning. We were the first ones in the restaurant. You would think that would mean that the service would be pretty good. Unfortunately, this was not the case. Once they dropped off our food, it was nearly impossible to get anyone's attention for anything - butter for the English Muffin, another cup of coffee. More water. Anything. On top of that, I ordered a breakfast that specifically states that it comes with 3 eggs. They served me 2. And it took me over 10 minutes to let anyone know as there was no wait staff whatsoever around for extended periods of time. Needless to say, I won't be going back. read more

Something changed. Haven't been here in a while but drinks watered down. Mule was bland. Small portions, big price. I get it is more expensive today but $18 for chips and fish, is bad. 3 small pieces. Not flavorful. Great service though. Give it a chance next month. New management. Very cute place. Has its own brewery. read more

On March 14, 2021 my boyfriend and I decided to go for a drive and enjoy dinner on a gorgeous Saturday. I suggested Hell or High Water Brewing as I had heard great things about their food. We arrived and its a small but very nice place. Not into beers but we had a some cocktails...he had a Spicy Mexican Martini and I got the Hibiscus Devil's Punch. Both were great and the martini definitely had a kick. We ordered chips and queso/salsa for an appetizer and the chips were crispy and yum (I hate greasy chips) and the salsa and queso were so good. The queso could have been hotter temperature wise. We decided to just eat the yummy salsa and take home the queso to eat later. My boyfriend ordered the Fish and Chips and I ordered the Fried Shrimp but substituted Coconut Shrimp. We ordered the Sauteed Spinach and Garlic and Jalapeno Cilantro Corn for sides. This was one of the BEST meals we've eaten!! The fish and shrimp were crunchy and golden and not greasy at all. The sides were outstanding! We took home a dessert...the Cinnamon Apple Brown Butter Cake...and omg...what a treat in our mouths!! Not gonna lie, the place is kinda pricey...$10 for the dessert...the drinks were $10 and $13...the Coconut shrimp plate was $17.50....but it was a good splurge and the food was WORTH it. Our waitress was really sweet and checked on us to make sure everything was great. We will go back...that fish was some of the best I've ever had!! read more

Food was good, not much wait, the atmosphere was quiet even with a full house so that is extremely good. I had pulled pork nachos and my friend had chicken Cesar salad; his was much better. I should have had a salad I guess. The nachos were okay but nothing to swoon over. We would come again for drinks and food. read more

Went there with the family on a Sunday afternoon. It was a great place to get some food and beer on a nice day. The staff was very friendly and the interior was clean and nicely decorated. Incredible food - their pub pretzel is fabulous, fish + chips are spot on, and their cinnamon apple brown butter cake is out of this world. We've sat outside (cute lights at night and live music) and inside, both have great ambiance. The staff are always kind. We love Hell or High Water! Would definitely recommend. read more

Such a great restaurant in great old building setting. Today I had the Texas Chicken Alfredo and a side of jalapeño cilantro corn. It was so good. You could taste the jalapeños in the Alfredo sauce and the corn but it wasn't too hot. Great service. Fast and friendly. My new go to for this dish. read more

We stopped in after hiking and I'm so glad we did. I live in Leander and will definitely be coming back. The drinks, appetizer, entree and dessert were all good! The Sheriff and Deputy(queso, salsa and chips) was really good. they even have the code that almost had a double crunch to them! The Cowboy burger was flavorful, but I would like to see more barbeque sauce next time. I tried a side of the jalapeno corn and it had a really good flavor! The corn was cooked just right and want too soft. It has tons of pepper, but not too much of a jalapeno flavor. Lastly we had the chocolate cakes(can't find the name). These tiny cakes are warm, rich and have a melted center! read more

Pretzels are good, but everything else is mediocre. Drinks taste watered down and the food poorly constructed.

Food was delicious. We shared the pimento burger and fries. Highly recommend. And the beer was great too.

Really enjoy taking home a growler of their Red beer! Really nice outdoor tiered patio and spacious which is much needed these days! read more

A simple friendly small town meal. Burger was delicious, beer was delicious. Thanks for a good time

Tried this place on a whim after going through Yelp. My son was in a marching band competition and we were hungry between prelims and finals. Picked this place. First off, I ordered a Mexican martini...it was all store bought premix and no alcohol and crunchy olives. Didn't finish. My husband ordered the Hefeweizen..cloudy and not good at all. The "Float the River" kolsch wasn't bad though. Our waitress...was a bit rude to our older patrons, short and rude. I'm sorry my mom asked a second time for a straw that you didn't bring the first time she asked...not when you brought everyone else drinks..it was a whole lot of rude to cut her off and patronize her. Also sorry my aunt was a little specific about what she wanted in her burger. The good. The burgers are so damn good. I took a little bite from my 4 yr old's burger and wow. So good! The flavor was killer! I myself, ordered the fish and chips...had a nice crunch. Absolutely no salt or flavor though. The batter was so dark, it was cooked a higher heat than it should of been. Also ordered the queso and salsa with chips...the queso was AMAZING, the salsa wasn't bad. The chips were stale, no crunch. Ruined the whole appetizer. Would also like to point out, the table behind us ordered the "Mexican martini" as well and was not given what I was. Theirs looked more what a martini should resemble and not the yellowy mess I was given. For what we paid for our food and the quality put out, I wouldn't really recommend it. All in all, I would LOVE to give this brewery a bad ass review but it really fell short. Will say though, the restrooms were clean and cold! Would prefer if the whole restaurant was as cold as the restroom and lacking in flies. read more

The food came out quickly and was standard bar fare. Pretzel and chips. However, our waitress disappeared and didn't show up again until my husband had gone to try to get our drinks. We noticed only one of the waitresses was friendly and trying to do a good job. The rest looked like they had just rolled out of bed and were doing us a favor by being there. Our waitress finally started being attentive when it came time for us to pay. Needless to say, we won't be back. read more

Very cool remodel with modern touches. They had a wide variety of on premises brewed beer that were above average from what I have experienced in Texas. Hell or High Water is worth the hype! Good food, awesome beer and wonderful staff with the exception of one special server. Our server wasn't pleasant and overly fake each time she approached any table to speak. Her name is Meredith B. and is terrible for your business! She literally was arguing in front of customers with the host. SMH. The server made the customers uncomfortable by saying once the customers leave she can go home and study for college courses. (3rd year senior at Texas as she bragged). Hopefully, at best Meredith B. is rerouted as the dish washer, rather than customer facing. read more

Had an early weekday lunch there and was very pleased. The place is nice and comfortable (inside seating and out), the service was quick and friendly, and both the menu and beer list looked very good -- I had a hard time deciding on both. I had fish and chips -- my go-to for evaluating any "pub food" type establishment. It was reasonably priced at $14, there was a decent amount of cod, which was perfectly cooked, and the fries -- which didn't look like much -- were actually much better than expected. I would definitely get this again (even though there are other things on the menu that I'd like to try). Bowler Hat black IPA was very solid. Nice body with a nice balance of hoppy and roasty flavors. Again, even though there are other beers there I'd like to try, I would definitely get this again. If you're looking for a vegetarian option, they have a hummus wrap that looed pretty good. read more
