Food is very good, and beer was nice too. We stopped going to this location because service was diminishing, but might give it another try.

Had an early weekday lunch there and was very pleased. The place is nice and comfortable (inside seating and out), the service was quick and friendly, and both the menu and beer list looked very good -- I had a hard time deciding on both. I had fish and chips -- my go-to for evaluating any "pub food" type establishment. It was reasonably priced at $14, there was a decent amount of cod, which was perfectly cooked, and the fries -- which didn't look like much -- were actually much better than expected. I would definitely get this again (even though there are other things on the menu that I'd like to try). Bowler Hat black IPA was very solid. Nice body with a nice balance of hoppy and roasty flavors. Again, even though there are other beers there I'd like to try, I would definitely get this again. If you're looking for a vegetarian option, they have a hummus wrap that looed pretty good. read more

I want to like this place. I just can't make it happen. The food is good in general. The beer is just ok. I love craft beer. I don't drink it any more. I prefer a good mixed drink or a wimpy light beer. I don't understand the restaurants that don't have an option for everyone. I don't want to here it's too difficult. 600 Degrees in Georgetown only carries craft beers yet they have a few on the light side. The service is odd here. They are very automated (which I like) but they take forever to key in the orders. They are always slow at checking to see if you need another drink. I'm not one to really complain but I've been here 5 times, I've asked the people we are with and we all feel the same way. This place is just missing something. read more

I'm not going to lie, as much as I want this place to be amazing, I've had a satisfactory experience at best here every time I've come. I've come at least 6 or 7 times the past year since the pandemic hit and have even invited friends, to convince them and myself, that this place was worth coming. And to be fair, the food here is great, but there are hiccups every time I've come. First, the outdoor space is a gem. It is such a large, great area for people to hang outdoors, especially during the day. At night however, the ambiance is there, but it's incredibly hard to see. And if it's a busy night and they put you at the bottom of the outdoor seating area, expect to wait a while because the waiters and waitresses don't always recognize your table. So that's frustrating. Also, majority of the parking is in the back of the restaurant which faces the outdoor patio space. So why make 80% of your people walk all the way up (past a smelly dumpster, btw) into the building, through the building, to talk with the hostess, only to walk all the way out of the building, and back outside to sit. Seems redundant to me. They should have a hostess posted in the outdoor patio area so the guests are not walking all throughout the place. Second the food menu is great. I've had their burgers, fish and chips, wings, pretzel and more. All fantastic food when it comes out fresh. Just a forewarning that they only cook their burgers medium well, and even if you try asking for it another way, you will still get medium well (our waitress the other day didn't even know they only cooked it like that). My wife also got a burger the other day and they gave it to her with no bun, which was no big deal, but still frustrating when you're hungry and ready to eat and still have to wait for them to get something that should've already been there. Also, how do you forget a top bun for a burger?? Third, the beer menu. This is one of the more frustrating things to deal with every time I come. They always give you a menu with their own beers but: 1. Not all of them are available on draft, and 2. They have more beer available that's not on the menu. And to be quite honest, the beer they brew is not my favorite, so I usually prefer to have something else, so I have to always ask them what is on tap. I'd prefer to have all the beer available in one spot on the menu. So that's frustrating. Lastly, I'd just like to say that I think the wait staff is great. We've met some amazing people there that have nothing but love for this place and want the best for it. They do seem to go through a lot of people, so it's hard to find someone that's regularly there to look forward to having when you come. That's hard to control, though. Overall, I love this place and want to keep coming back more and bringing people here, but it's hard when there are so many things that keep happening that take away your love for this place. I hope the staff will at least take into consideration some of the suggestions on this review and hopefully we will be back with a much better experience than we've had in the past. read more

This is a pretty good little brewery with a nice size patio. We tried the Hefeweizen and the German Kolsch both are good. They also have 4oz pours if you can't make up your mind and want to try several beers. The food and service was very good. I had the Wilco Cobb and it was very tasty. The wings and wedge salad were good as well. I highly recommend them. read more

First time today and it did not disappoint. I Learned of HOHW when I bought some plants from Paula. Place is super cute. Inside and outside. We went for lunch and had the pretzel, chicken tenders and coconut shrimp. Service was top notch. Food came out hot and quick. And so tasty. Loved it all ans thrilled I could bring it home since I was full. The chicken tenders were my fave. We will be back. Thx. I bet sunset from outside patio are gorgeous. read more

We actually heard about this place from TikTok that they were known for their old fashioned so we decided to see for ourselves. Order old fashioned, pub pretzel and chicken and waffles. The pretzel was a great shareable size, warm with the right amount of salt drizzled on top, easy to pull apart, served with a side of white queso and stone ground mustard. Queso was good, mustard was a bit strong from what tastes like horseradish mix, so dip gently. Chicken and waffles came with a side of potatoes, chicken was moist, fried perfectly and the waffles were a little on the sweeter side, and that's without any syrup. If you have a sweet tooth, then this entree is for you. Now their famous old fashioned made with local Still Austin whiskey----- I really enjoyed the flavor--- the whiskey was smooth and just the right amount of sweetness... so glad we tried it out, the old fashioned gets 5 stars for sure. read more

Went to dinner tonight randomly in Liberty Hill and decided to try Hell or Highwater. We sat outside on the patio because it was such a nice night. The food was really great. I ordered the Bourbon Grilled Chicke with sautéed spinach and mashed potatoes as my sides. It was so good the only thing left on my plate when I was done was a Leaf. My friends ordered Fried shrimp and Coconut Shrimp and they said theirs was equally deliciious. That grilled chicken was moist and the sauce was amazing. We will definitely come back!! read more

This is my go-to spot for food, drinks, and a great atmosphere in Liberty Hill. No matter how busy they are, they have a spot for us and attentive service. The food is great, as are the in-house brewed and local beers. The beer flight is my favorite. They are very accommodating: I had an issue with an appetizer and they took it off the bill. I truly feel like a valued customer here and I have not had a bad experience yet. I never wear restaurant "swag" but I proudly wear my hell or high water t-shirt. I support local businesses; thanks for being a beacon in the darkness of chains, franchises and fast food restaurants taking over our beloved Liberty hill. read more

Tonight is the first time I've been to this restaurant and I was so pleasantly surprised! I had the glazed salmon with golden potatoes and asparagus. Every bite was delicious! Perfectly cooked and tasty! The waitress was sweet and attentive but well timed. I had the apple cinnamon cake for dessert, also delicious. We sat outside and it was pleasant as the weather was good. Definitely give this place a try. There are parking spaces in a lot behind and along side as well as a parking lot where Loop 332 (Main St) and CR 279 meet so don't let that stop you either. read more

This location has a lot of potential with its seating and environment. However, I was disappointed that they only had 2 beers on tap that were actually theirs (brewed there). I had the Pilemto burger and it was good. The fries had to much pepper for my liking but otherwise they were good (I still ate them). I asked the manager if they had any written beer list and he said "no because we rotate our beers out to much to print it". Come on now HHWB, this is 2020, get a chalk board or something so your guests don't have to stand up and stare at a TV (with a rotating beer menu) that only shows 3 drinks at a time. read more

I'd been to a family reunion in Kerrville, Tx., and was on my way back to Fairfield, Tx., hungry, thirsty, and ready for a break from driving. I was coming up to Liberty Hill, Tx. So I phone searched for a restaurant. There it was! Kinda jumped out at me! Hell or High Water Brewing Company!! I was like, "hell yeah" I'm on it!! I found it, parked, and as I walked up to the restaurant/brewco, (I love these places) the layout was very inviting. The look of the place said c'mon in and stay awhile. The atmosphere was simple, inviting, staff was friendly and who can argue with air conditioning and ice cold beer on a hot Central Texas day. Two of my favorite quickie meals are pimento cheese and or a good Texas burger. Dang! Right on the menu! A "Pimento Cheeseburger"! It was meant for me to stop here! Lol. Wish I could've stayed longer but had to hit the road. The burger was awesome! The beer was cold and tasty. I even bought a t-shirt. I did not get to try one of their beers. They'd just opened back up after being closed due to COVID-19 and they were still fermenting their first batch. Hope they called it COVID Crush! Lol. We were hoping this would be a place we could enjoy, with all the great reviews. Unfortunately, our server Mel T., was beyond rude & checked on us once. I wasn't happy with a dish I had ordered & asked to get something else-after having to flag him down. He rudely asked "What's wrong with it?"-told him it didn't taste right to me. He then continues with "Well what don't you like about it??", making me feel very uncomfortable. I ordered something else, which took way too long to get. When I got it, he shoved it in my face. Didn't even make an effort to politely put it on the table. He made me feel very uncomfortable & we decided to just leave. Again, we had to flag him down & once again, he shoved the to go box in my face. 3/7/21 Beautiful weekend and the place was hoppin. Atmosphere : 5 Stars. The back yard is very nice and family friendly. Inside is very nice too. Food : 2 Stars. Panther Nacho's are big enough for 2 - easily. Asking for additional condiments requires the waiter to put in a "ticket" ? to the kitchen. Totally unnecessary delay. Then to add insult to a 13.00 plate of nacho's, I was charged a dollar for the extra BBQ Sauce I asked for. REALLY??? Wife had the fish and it was pretty good. Agree with a another review; wait staff is NOT very attentive. ( That's a training issue ) Beer : 3 Stars. Devils Interval Stout was bitter to me. Other selections were limited to me. We did order a flight to be fair and we're just not impressed with any of them :-( On a positive note... it's nice that Liberty Hill has a promising venue. read more

This place could really use an updated menu. They've been serving the same stuff, which isn't much, since they opened. I believe they had a few additional items before Covid. We go when we just don't feel like driving into Leander/Cedar Park or Georgetown. If you have time and want really good food, don't stop here. I will say also, their food isn't as good of quality as it use to be. Green beans have no flavor or the mashed potatoes. Pimento burger and fries are still decent. Drinks are meh. It is a nice establishment, quick to seat & serve. I'll be glad when LH gets better restaurants. Nothing here is great as the reviews indicate. read more

Finding a roach in your drink is highly disturbing, but even more so was the fact that we had to pay after we were told our bill would be comped. I came with two friends who have also been to Hell or high water before, and we sat outside for over 10 minutes before one of us went inside to inquire, as it seemed they had forgotten about us. We ordered a round of drinks and food. When my Mexican martini came out, a roach came out when I poured the shaker into the martini glass. When I went inside to tell the bartender, they took the drink and consulted amongst themselves behind the bar. A bartender came out and apologized (I had returned to my friends outside) and told us that our bill was comped. We asked her if we could talk to a manager because we were wanting to cancel our food order and leave. The manager came out and apologized, and reiterated that everything was comped and asked what else he could bring us. We decided to stay and eat and ordered 2 more drinks for the table. Once we had eaten the manager came back and informed us that there is a separate food manager and our food would not in fact be comped after all. When the check came the last 2 drinks and food were on it. We questioned the manager who eventually begrudgingly took off the 2 drinks. We still had to pay for the food, which I wouldn't be as upset about except that he had told us it would be comped and that is the only reason we didn't cancel the order in the first place. We will not be going back here. Our waiter, Hudson, however was very nice and helpful despite the poor management. I do not typically write reviews, but I was extremely disappointed with the way the situation was handled. Going forward I hope that matters of this magnitude are approached with customers at the forefront of the issue. It's not a secret that roaches carry diseases and it was upsetting to find it sunbathing in my afternoon beverage. read more

We've eaten here 3 times beginning last year. I always get the fish and chips. The first time was amazing-excellent service, food and fun and delicious flights of beer. The second time, still had great service but there was less fish and the chips seemed like frozen fries with pepper. My husband's Cowboy burger was very good though. Our third experience was likely our last. The fish was very fishy, obviously frozen, and the chips were worse than ever. It also cost more than it used to and it was more than they had posted on their website. We also had queso and salsa. The server charged us for fresh tortilla chips after serving us mostly broken ones. Cowboy burger was still good but not good enough to keep us going back. Service was very slow when there was almost no one there. Up side: beer is always great but lots of places have great beer. Completely unimpressed otherwise. read more

We're in Liberty Hill for a wedding and we ate dinner here Friday night. The food was great and the drink selection was amazing! Definitely recommend as they were open late too. We had a little bit of a wait, but less than 30 minutes. There was live music inside which was a plus! The pretzel appetizer was delicious. read more

Great addition to Liberty Hill and worth a drive from farther away. The food is great and the beer selection is pretty good, though I'm hoping to try more of their own beer in the future. Burgers, Panther Nachos (it's pork, not panther!), and the salmon were all super tasty, even to go. Service is always exceptional. The patio area with umbrellas is nice but can be a bit too toasty in the afternoons but if the weather cooperates, it's is awesome. Parking is easy on Loop 332/Main Street, along the side street (Myrtle), or in the little parking area out back near the patio. They've also made an effort to be more accessible for those who find steps challenging. read more
