    Carne - Weekly Special
    Tyler G.

My first time going to flatbread and it was amazing. The carne pizza special was top notch and all of the staff couldn't have been kinder. It's cool seeing the open kitchen in the back and all of the pizza professionals cheffing it up. I would definitely come back, and recommend for any young kids or people looking for a fun date night!

Really excellent wood-fired pizza. I had pepperoni and mushrooms on mine, and it was done to perfection! The crust was so good -- crispy on the outside, nicely chewy on the inside, and fairly thin-crust. The smaller 12" size is just right for a fairly hungry adult. Service was super friendly, and the place is in a cavernous stone/brick building that used to be a warehouse, I think (this is the original Flatbread Company location), giving it a nice rustic and quaint atmosphere. Service is super-friendly and quick. If you like pizza at all, you must come here!

This is the original location for this small chain, and happy to say everything about our visit was on point. It was a beautiful day for late October and we were happy to eat outside on their patio in full sun. The inside also looks great with the big wood fired oven and casual seating. We had a very pleasant and attentive waitress who had our order, a large Jays Heart Pizza, out to us in no time. This is one of my favorite pies. Super thin crust, with just enough bite to make chewing enjoyable. Delicious herby sauce and the right amount of cheese. We've been to five of their locations (across New England, and the location in Maui), and I have to say they have all been consistently good. One thing we noticed about this pizza however is that it is best enjoyed at the restaurant. While still excellent as takeout, there is a little something lost with it if not straight from the oven. They do offer par baked pizza which can be finished off in the oven at home, and we find that to be the right way to go if doing takeout. Really the best of both worlds, I wish more places offered that option. Don't hesitate with this place, they do pizza right!

    Anxiously awaiting pizza!

We've been coming to flatbreads for 20 years. Such an amazing place. Start with their signature salad with goat cheese. Then stay classic with the Jay's Hart cheese and her pizza, or try the pepperoni and mushroom. Ask for "play" dough for the kids too. In the past ?5 years? they've added more seating downstairs and a second stone pizza oven which speeds up the process. Awesome beer selection. All so so good.

Was looking forward to coming here but was a bit disappointed in their GF pizza. I don't have an allergy it's a preference and even one of the servers said she loves their Gluten Free pizza so we decided to order one. After almost waiting 45 minutes for our pizza, it came out undercooked and soggy. The Manager said they had a different crust to work with but you would think to try it out several times first to get it right and to serve to customers. The place was very busy but still you should keep things consistent and make sure that everything comes out just right so people keep coming back.

The food on our wedding day was incredibly amazing, and our families and friends still rave about how delicious everything was. We haven't stopped thinking about it either! They even gave me a pre-game bite before the ceremony with the AMAZING BEGGER'S PURSE and ensured that I didn't get any sauce on my wedding dress!!! Thank you to Jenny, @jennys_wedding_cakes. I happen to find this Jenny just by chance and I am so…read moreglad I did! I wanted a classic yet beautiful and delicious cake, and Jenny delivered. We chose the raspberry champagne cake. It was a delicate vanilla French sponge cake filled with a champagne sabayon layered with raspberries and covered with a champagne buttercream icing. My only regret is that I didn't order a bigger cake. It was all gone at the end of the evening!!! This was the one thing I was really looking forward to for MONTHS in regards to my wedding reception. I strongly recommend Jenny for wedding cakes and I hope I have the opportunity to order another cake from her again!

Full disclosure: We didn't end up working with Jenny for our wedding, but based on our experience…read morewith her before, during, and after the tasting, we would wholeheartedly recommend her. We contacted Jenny when we were looking around for a baker for our wedding cake. Emailing with her was easy enough and we ended up getting a tasting scheduled a few weeks out. Jenny was responsive and detailed in all of her email correspondence. When we showed up on the day of the tasting, Jenny welcomed us and ensured we were comfortable. It took me a few minutes to warm up to her (the fiance loved her from the get-go), but once we sat down and got talking, Jenny was fantastic! She listened to all our thoughts, despite them being less than precise, proposed a number of truly excellent ideas, all while showing us bits and pieces of previous cakes she made. Once we settled down on a couple ideas, Jenny sketched out a couple options, provided suggestions, and adapted based on our comments. I (and the fiance) appreciate when others can provide their own creativity and suggestions in a way that doesn't ignore or invalidate my (our) own ideas. This is one of the things that distinguishes a good service from a great service. At one point, we were talking about adding sugar flowers/hand painting. When Jenny realized that we weren't set on one of these looks over a simpler look, she volunteered pricing information and transparently indicated the difference in cost to aid us in decision making. We weren't concerned about pricing and hadn't mentioned anything about pricing to Jenny either, but the fact that she was looking for the best way to get us what we want without the "up-sell" was just awesome. I love when service providers are honest and down-to-earth like this. Moving onto the cake - when Jenny brought out the tasting plate, I immediately noticed that it was very carefully curated with different cake types, filling flavours, and filling types. The way she squeezed in so many different options that allowed you to get a sense of what she can do with a cake was brilliant! No other baker we worked with did anything of the sort. We definitely appreciated the ability to get a rather broad tour of Jenny's options in a single sitting. Let's talk about the taste. Just wow. Her cakes and fillings were superb. Some of the best we've had despite visiting three other very, very carefully curated bakers (from word-of-mouth recommendations, Yelp reviews, and multiple wedding website reviews). You could taste the quality of the ingredients, feel the perfect texture of the cakes, and pick out the tastes in the buttercream, fillings, and cake itself. Her cake wasn't overly sweet, which I've found is a common problem in mass produced cakes (where cakes are either dry and tasteless or moistened with sugar syrup and cloying), and her buttercream was great (of the European variety - hers is either Swiss or Italian, I believe - that is less sweet and more tasty than your more common American buttercream). We were both more than pleased with the cakes. Once we were done, Jenny wrote up a couple of quotes for us and sent us on our way. She was an absolute delight. When we walked out the door, we both knew we had a really difficult decision in front of us. We were waiting for a quote from another baker we really liked and Jenny, who was the last baker we had a tasting with, had just jumped right into first place tying with that other baker. After deliberating for quite some time, we ended up going with the other baker for the mere fact that she provided a handful of flavours that worked better with the direction we were taking our reception. We emailed Jenny once we made the decision and were surprised to receive a response thanking us and wishing us the best. That was totally unexpected, but very appreciated. Despite choosing another baker for our wedding, based on our interactions before, during, and after our tasting and on the quality and taste of her cake, we are convinced that Jenny would be an excellent choice for any special occasion. We'll certainly have to find an excuse one of these days to try her pumpkin spice cake!

They now accept multiple forms of payment, which makes a huge difference because most people don't carry cash anymore. Being able to tap or swipe a card here has definitely improved the overall experience. This location is truly seasonal. They open in early April and close at the end of October, and on a warm day, you will see steady lines of people stopping in for a cone, sundae, Blizzard, or quick treat. Everything is served outdoors, and the parking lot is large enough that you rarely have trouble finding a spot. My go-to order has always been the classic vanilla cone dipped in chocolate. They make it well, and it's consistently good. They offer doggie bowls, too, which is a nice touch, though the portion size is small for the price. In general, the prices here run a little high, and the amount of ice cream you receive can vary depending on who is serving. When management is on site, you can sometimes tell the portions are more controlled. Still, the staff is always friendly and the service is quick. This DQ doesn't sell hot food, but if you're looking for soft serve, sundaes, Blizzards, or frozen treats, it's a convenient and reliable stop in Salisbury. The updated payment options, friendly employees, and easy parking make it worth coming back each season. A solid four stars, mainly because of the price and quantity inconsistencies, but overall it's a great place to grab a simple ice cream treat on the North Shore.
