I've been eating this pizza for at least 20 years. I can honestly tell you it's the same quality the same consistency the same uniqueness every time I go there. The folks who work the ovens and prepare the food work their butts off. Good work guys. I can't believe all those people willing to learn how to toss and work as hard as you do seeing three or four or five people we make all that food in the servers and stuff. It's pretty impressive. The wood stoves are nice and hot but the place is very comfortable the air conditioning the bathrooms overall it's a great great place. read more

This location doesn't have bowling but it's still a great spot for lunch. On a gorgeous day, the outdoor seatings are perfect! You're surrounded with old mills. Delish pie cooked to perfection. Thin crust (not soggy here) and not overly salty. Service is on a slower side if you're seating outside but they are super friendly! Go see host inside before sitting down (outdoor). read more

My first time going to flatbread and it was amazing. The carne pizza special was top notch and all of the staff couldn't have been kinder. It's cool seeing the open kitchen in the back and all of the pizza professionals cheffing it up. Stopped by here twice on a trip up to NE recently. They have a solid house salad that's easily customizable and have a nice variety of options for pizza. I got the Vegan Pizza which was better than most spots. I enjoyed it both times. Extensive drink menu including pretty inventive mocktails. The place is rustic and cozy inside and outside there are plenty of tables to sit out on the square. Both visits the service was fast and friendly. Couldn't ask for more. Great place. read more

Used to be a favorite of ours in Amesbury. But not anymore. Summary of our last 2 visits. First was an order mixup and then made it incorrectly and we were glutened. Stupid but we gave them another chance and a take order after 1 hour was still not made correctly again. One pizza sat cold while they had to remake a pizza due to a mixup. We recently had dinner at Flatbread in Amesbury, MA- The location is not unlike the other locations, but an open kitchen where you can see the pizza coming out! The service was amazing- very polite and attentive. The pizza is always top notch. Highly recommend their current Veggie special with corn. Their salads are always very good as well. Used to come here all the time when our children were little. Came back with them as young adults. Pizza taste went downhill. Apparently they don't use any red sauce when you order a cheese pizza or a pizza with pepperoni. Seriously, how does a pizza place.... NOT know how to make a pizza? read more

Really excellent wood-fired pizza. I had pepperoni and mushrooms on mine, and it was done to perfection! The crust was so good -- crispy on the outside, nicely chewy on the inside, and fairly thin-crust. The smaller 12" size is just right for a fairly hungry adult. Service was super friendly, and the place is in a cavernous stone/brick building that used to be a warehouse, I think (this is the original Flatbread Company location), giving it a nice rustic and quaint atmosphere. This is the original location for this small chain, and happy to say everything about our visit was on point. It was a beautiful day for late October and we were happy to eat outside on their patio in full sun. The inside also looks great with the big wood fired oven and casual seating. We had a very pleasant and attentive waitress who had our order, a large Jays Heart Pizza, out to us in no time. This is one of my favorite pies. Super thin crust, with just enough bite to make chewing enjoyable. Delicious herby sauce and the right amount of cheese. We've been to five of their locations (across New England, and the location in Maui), and I have to say they have all been consistently good. One thing we noticed about this pizza however is that it is best enjoyed at the restaurant. While still excellent as takeout, there is a little something lost with it if not straight from the oven. They do offer par baked pizza which can be finished off in the oven at home, and we find that to be the right way to go if doing takeout. Really the best of both worlds, I wish more places offered that option. Don't hesitate with this place, they do pizza right! read more

We've been coming to flatbreads for 20 years. Such an amazing place. Start with their signature salad with goat cheese. Then stay classic with the Jay's Hart cheese and her pizza, or try the pepperoni and mushroom. Ask for "play" dough for the kids too. In the past ?5 years? they've added more seating downstairs and a second stone pizza oven which speeds up the process. Awesome beer selection. All so so good. read more

Was looking forward to coming here but was a bit disappointed in their GF pizza. I don't have an allergy it's a preference and even one of the servers said she loves their Gluten Free pizza so we decided to order one. After almost waiting 45 minutes for our pizza, it came out undercooked and soggy. The Manager said they had a different crust to work with but you would think to try it out several times first to get it right and to serve to customers. The place was very busy but still you should keep things consistent and make sure that everything comes out just right so people keep coming back. read more

I'm trying to rate this like I don't live on Long Island and have access to amazing pizza, but it's proving challenging. They're called flatbreads but they're pizza? I think? I had the sausage flatbread which was surprisingly good. The crust was not good, but I'm very picky. My friend got the vegan flatbread and she said it was "pretty good." We got takeout and our order was ready quickly. I think I'd go again in a pinch but this is why I don't order pizza when I'm traveling. read more

You guys, I love the pizza pies here -- and the salads too. Scrumptious! I want to high five the chef(s) all day. If you've never been to this adorbs lil' restaurant, go on and give it a shot. The vibe is super 'homegrown' and 'earthy' - like, this place truly believes in sustainability. And that's good for the planet that we all live on together.  Their meats are sourced from free range animals and do not include any gross growth hormones or chemicals. The pies are cooked in visible clay oven right inside the seating area, basically -- which is super fun if you're nosy and like to watch your pizzas cook in an open oven. Plus, fun fact, this Amesbury location was their VERY FIRST spot. They now have 5 restaurants in New England, 1 in Canada, and 1 in Hawaii (....wanna catch a flight and dine on some pizza there?).  The veggies in their salads and such are SO super fresh - you're, FOR SURE, gonna be like; 'Whoa! Those are some fresh veggies, etc.' And the pizza pies?!!!...Perfection! I ordered the Cheese & Herb pie and basically devoured it. Burp. It was baked to perfection and seasoned as if it was intended for royals to consume.  Pro-insider tip: you can put your name on their waitlist via Yelp (this very platform!). Do that...and then, like, there will be minimal wait time.  They offer a large full bar as well as outdoor seating alongside a flowing river. IDK the name of the river, but a local historian might. Flatbreads is great for families. They are super accommodating and give the kiddos dough to play with. I'd say it's a pretty significant upcharge if you are gluten free for the small ammount of food you end up with compared to a regular sized pizza. read more

Even though there is a Flatbread in Salem, I never made it there, but I'm glad I made it the original location. It's really fun and funky inside and they have a great outdoor area too. I was thrilled to see the Wachusett Blueberry Ale, an OG fave, offered, so I ordered that. My friend and I split the Jay's Heart and Mopsy's Kalua pie. Both were excellent. Jay's Heart is their cheese pie and it was super flavorful. However, it was served room temp/almost cold, which we couldn't figure out, because both pies came out so fast. We really should've sent it back but it was still quite tasty. I loved the Mopsy pie. We got the pork and it was delicious. And the mango BBQ sauce is addictive. Service was good and I see why people love Flatbread. I'll be looking forward to returning when in town again. read more

I smelled the quality walking by as we were just sight seeing the area. Sure enough, we were drawn in. The pizzas are made in the brick wood fired ovens. You add what you want for toppings. Add some fresh on tap beers and you've got a fantastic lunch. I haven't ate out for pizza in over 20 years. This is the place. Go in, you'll be glad you did. There are lots of places to eat in Amesbury, but this is my favorite. This is the original "Flatbread", over the Pow Wow River Falls, located in an old mill by the Al Capp Ampitheater. They now have "Flatbread" in Maui and Vancouver, but this is the first. Amesbury Millyard is one of the North Shore's hidden treasures. I love the farm to table concept using organic food coming from local farms. yep, Cider Hill Farm in Amesbury. (#1 Spot to pick apples in U.S.) The pizza is good as well as the organic salads. The homemade ginger tamari salad dressing is incredible. They should sell it. The open wood fire gives a cozy feeling. I love the smell of the pizza in the wood fired oven and watching it be prepared. Summer nights are great outside especially on Thursday nights when you have music in the Millyard. I can bring my " Sweetie " outside and sit on the patio. My only contention is I like the "Fold Hold" style of eating pizza and its difficult when the dough is cut in squares. JS It takes more time to cut the pizza in squares than triangles and when cutting your dragging the toppings with the pizza wheel. LOL Being able to fold or not the pizza, all the pizzas are great. Just go you will not be disappointed. read more

LOVED IT!! We actually got take out and then when I went to pick up it was so neat looking inside I kept it on my list incase we could not find any other place to eat the next day. We ended up eating lunch here again. Only reason I did not give 5 stars is when we went in on Friday 10/11-at 11 the staff was not really nice. Our girl did not check on us at all. Hardly anyone in there and all the staff was hanging out at the bar. We sat right across from them but could not get their attention for refills or anything else. Also I ordered so extra marina and the pizza maker apparently put the bowl in the fire to warm it up. I was not told this and really burned my hand. Also the sauce was still completely cold insde only the outside of the bowl was burning hot. So this place has to be great for me to put up with bad service and a burnt hand. It was, the pizza is so good and the salad was wonderful. Also the atompshere was really cool. I would go back but I would push for better service. We were on vacation so I did not want to get in a bad mood so I did not say anything to the place and I do not think any of the people working that Friday would have cared. Our first stop in Amesbury town- very cute and reasonably close proximity to highway. Yelp attracted us to another restaurant but it was closed so a local resident suggested pizza. A fantastic restaurant!! Fun and friendly!! We were welcomed and seated immediately. Our server Paige was friendly and helpful. We enjoyed great local beer and a salad to start. It was delicious with local greens, veggies and some Atlantic seaweed- YUM!! So good!! The pizza came next and it was delicious but I'm not going to lie it was quickly assembled with all the good stuff dumped in the middle. It was not cut properly so we were struggling to pull it apart. Honestly I make homemade pizza in a real pizza oven and I thought it could have been better for their signature pie. Delicious and fresh with a great vibe and excellent service. I highly recommend this restaurant. read more

This would have been an absolutely perfect time- the pizza was delicious, the outside patio was great, we were seated quickly, but...it took 1.5 hours for two pizzas to arrive. We got here at 5:30pm and ate at 7pm. This place has so much potential to be a great family friendly establishment, but our toddler only survived the night because we had packed so many snacks, and I guess if we want to eat before her bedtime, we'll have to get here at 4:30. I used to love flatbread, but they really fell off the last few years. First of all, they changed the gluten-free crust to some pizza dough you can find at Market Basket second of all they put goat cheese on my pizza for no reason and this is very disgusting but they put a rubber glove under my pizza and I found it halfway through eating it. Delicious! And, a GREAT space for groups! Love the ambiance and how you can see the pizzas being tossed and oven-baked. We got The Lafayette Vegetarian which was very good. I love lots of veggies on my pizzas. My favorite was The J.G Whittier which had really great italian sausage! I'm a sucker for sausage pizzas, but there is definitely good and bad sausage and this was REALLY GOOD! Even the gluten-free pizzas were good and kudos to our server who asked whether the gluten was an allergy or a preference. I appreciate them being careful in the process of cooking because we had a gluten-intolerant person in our group. This whole experience raised my blood pressure. I tried to place my order online on my phone. The website wouldn't let me check out, so I called to place my order. I spoke with the most unhelpful person who informed me I had to order online. I told him their website wasn't working and he said "try again". I asked " so can I order on the phone "" and he told me not if I want delivery. I hung up and place my order on a desktop computer. Then we waited an hour and a half for a pizza! We only live 2 miles away. When the pizza finally did arrive, The driver didn't even ring the doorbell, just dropped the pizza on my doorstep, in the rain and ran. So now I'm eating a stone cold pizza, fuming over the tip I left for exceptional service. The pizza was fine, albeit cold, but this place needs to work on customer service. I'm not asking for much , just don't actively try to make ordering pizza a miserable experience. read more
