This is the Pizza establishment to judge all others not in a major city by. As far as North shore style hand tossed Italian pizza goes, this simply cannot be outdone. Quick on the phone? They sure are! There's a reason they're in a hurry and there's a long wait at 6pm on a Friday night: everyone is there! Cheese steak, chicken kabob, Italian cold cut, not one bad choice. Also- Breakfast! Actual home cooked-style breakfast with literally every combination of eggs/pig/bread you can think of and they'll even put most of it on a bagel or in a burrito. Look for that yellow sign lighting up Central Ave since before I was born- and then let your taste buds understand how a small town restaurant can still be standing decades after all others around have sold, rebranded or disappeared. read more

Drove by the old-school sign on Village Sub & Pizza and decided to give it a try for takeout, and really glad we did! They were all decked out for Christmas, and everyone working was super friendly. i have eaten at this place for many years. They used to have the best subs you could buy anywhere and their pizza was good too. Over the years their subs have shrunk while getting more expensive. I rarely get anymore. We just ordered their largest pizza (16 in) with two toppings. I was shocked when they charged me over $19 for it. It wasnt that good. Toppings were sparse and pizza was oily and thin in the middle. I had to fold it as I could not pick it up without it collapsing. If Im going to pay over $19 for a pizza, I'll drive to North Andover and get a 19in cheese for $12. Im so done with village read more

I've been searching and searching for pizza that isn't a "house of pizza" style pre-made crust and greasy cheese. Well, I found it today at Village. The pizza was excellent and they have a nice cheese blend with a garlicky aroma and taste. I was not aware of this place and it's very unassuming from the outside but that doesn't matter, the pizza is excellent, Italian style with a flour dusted crust and it they have it right. My husband and I order form here EVERY Sunday. Today I really wanted a steak and cheese with mayo. I'm pregnant and asked if they're mayo was pasteurized. The girl came back and said mayo isn't dairy (thank you captain obvious) so that's not really a question because unless it's diary it wouldn't be considered needing to be pasteurized. Their food is great and we always loved the pizza but tonight when we went to pick up our pizza the small space that they occupy was full of people waiting for their take out orders and not one person was wearing a mask. Also their entire staff was maskless. Unfortunately for them they are ignoring the fact that there is still a very active pandemic going on. I had a mask on and I've had 3 Pfizer shots. But, as of last night, Thursday 04/01, Village Pizza has lost a life long customer. The family I nanny for has me order delivery from here from time to time. It's not a bad place, but not the most amazing, either. The salads are, for the most part, good. All but one or two times I've thought their salads to be fresh and yummy. I'm not crazy about their steak tips, though, and find that their tuna is prepared with a LOT of mayo, so I usually just stick to the chicken kabob salads. I do enjoy their pizza when they cook it right. I've found that if you don't ask for it "cooked crispy," then it comes pretty doughy and not cooked enough. All in all, not a bad spot. read more

I have been here a few times. I'd say it's best to order out then to eat in cuz the staff often seems mindless and forgetful of those eating in and you often have to wait longer than if you take out. The food itself is good and an okay price. But it's Georgetown so I guess I'll take the higher price. They have great appetizers and pretty good pizza. The parking is all street and during peak hours always a hassle, try to park down the street a bit and walk down. All in all it's A-Ok but not my favorite sub place in the area. read more

Village Pizza is a good all around sub/pizza shop. The Pizza is very good, it reminds me of the north end type of thin crust pizza. Its a little greasy, but overall very good. Subs are also very good and are average size/price. One of my favorites is the cheeseburger sub, loaded with patties and all the fixins you want. They also have a good selection of salads, their greek salad is one of the best ive ever had as they have very good greek house dressing and load the salad with soft (not stale) feta. There are tables for you to eat inside, but your probably better off taking it home, or better yet.....delievered. Just picked up 2 pies to serve to my parents while they're visiting and they both loved it as well. We live in Ipswich and there is no good pizza in our area. Got a Greek salad here the other day and was disappointed because when I went to eat it the next day the lettuce was not good at all. Didn't seem like they use fresh ingredients. Two things put this place in a four star category. 1) It's open until 9:30. 2) The food-for-the-price ratio is pretty darn good. Burgers were cooked nicely and were very tasty. We usually use this place as a delivery meal service in Groveland. The food is always good, and delivery at most times takes around 45 minutes. I'm very happy with the burgers and subs, and I once had a calzone that was huge and would have fed three. Best pizza in Georgetown/Rowley. Honestly, they are the only place that makes their own crust. (except for maybe Off the Vine). They have a lot of nice sandwich options too. I love the Rueben. Their onion rings are homemade and always delicious. Their menu is so much better than your typical pizza/sub shop menu. My only suggestion is to double check your order. They do make mistakes sometimes although I noticed last time I ordered they did read back the order to me so perhaps they recognize this as a problem and are trying to fix it. read more

So Village pizza is a staple in Gtown. The place is kinda dingy and needs to be remodeled. That being said, I have noticed a dramatic improvement with their pizza. The crust is greatly improved. The outer crust no longer invades the cheese and topping part of the pizza (its only about an inch wide all around). Our meatball topping is cut into cubes and uniformed. The past few times, the pizza has been cooked perfectly. I think there may be a new improved pizzamaker back there. Whatever the case, I hope it continues. read more

I had ordered this chicken bacon and ranch dressing there before. It was delicious. I ordered it several times. When I pick up the pizza it was disgusting. It has red sauce and everything. I've been going here for a few years now, their food is very good aside the one fact of every single time out of the dozens of times I called over the years seems when it gets close to an hour before closing they stop taking orders no delivery and sometimes, don't even answer the phone! Let me start by saying that the turkey wrap that I ordered was delicious. The reason for the 3 stars is the fact that when I went to pay for my order, it was substantially more than what I had seen on the online menu. When I questioned this, the matter was shrugged off with "that menu is 10 years old". Well, then update the menu! We've been there a few times and the pizza is the best in Georgetown. The other food is pretty good, too. However, we've had more than one experience where the customer service is weak. The last few times we've called to place an order, it seemed as if we were we annoying the woman answering the phone. Then, upon arrival, good luck with getting a "hello." I don't even live in Georgetown and yet I will make a trip to this place. The service is top notch. I can only comment on two things, the chicken kebob salads and the pizza. The salads are huge and soooo good. My friend lives in the area and when I visit, I ALWAYS stop here on my way to her house. There is always parking out front and they also deliver. read more
