For what this place is (ie a local pizza/sub shop) perfect scoring. Their pizza always has perfect crispiness and tasty crust. My 2 favorite items are Buffalo chicken pizza and their Buffalo wrap. Pizza Factory is the only place I have order a cheese steak from in the 35+ years I have lived in Amesbury. If it isn't perfect I wont order again for years. Fast forward at least 2+ years, just ordered one. "May I place an order for pickup please" What can I get you? "small cheese steak chopped up extra extra extra fine" the response - why of course! "extra extra extra cheese please" I opened that sandwich and I was so thrilled, it looked perfect. I misunderstood how to order my food the way I wanted. The steak tip dinners come BBQ style or as marinated tips . I asked for my meal plain meaning no onions and peppers to me but it meant no BBQ sauce to them . I politely asked the woman at the counter why my meal was not prepared the way I wanted . Where are the employees' masks? The pizza was what you'd expect from a Greek style pizza joint, and the service was friendly. However, I don't think I'll be back for a while. Many of the workers behind the counter worked close together with no masks. And the woman who ferried food from the counter to customers inside and out, lingering and chatting close up with people behind the counter and customers, was also wearing no mask. Maybe everyone who works there is part of the same household, so they don't need to wear masks around each other? But as a customer, it didn't fill me with confidence that the owners take the safety of their customers OR their workers very seriously. read more

I love the factory! I grew up here and grew up on their pizza. When it changed hands in the late 90's the food only got better. They improved their pizza and expanded their menu. While they are a standard Greek style pizza and subs joint they do almost everything right. I am rarely disappointed by their offerings and I've had close to everything on the menu over the years. This place has changed owners again... and it isn't for the better. They've been a go-to when I wanted pasta and others wanted pizza or wings. I used to enjoy their chicken fettuccine Alfredo. Now it arrives with a hard glob of (sometimes inedible) "sauce" on overcooked penne. The owner claims that it has always come that way...trust me I would have never ordered it if that was the "usual" way. You can try to dump it upside down on a big plate and heat the blob. But any attempt to mix the mess leaves you with shredded penne from the stirring process. I gave them three chances before I gave up hope. A call to complain was met with a rather rude response from the owner. Eventually he'll realize Amesbury is too small of a town to keep putting out that kind of food and attitude to stay in business. As for salads, I have yet to receive the same ingredients consistently despite having ordered the same salad. While we don't have a ton of pizza places in town, we do have choices. I encourage you to explore them. I'm giving them 3 stars because they do have decent plain wings and onion rings, when they have not run out of them. read more

So we ordered a works pizza this past Friday night - and you know what they did? They cooked a pepperoni and sausage pizza - then grilled some peppers and onions and mushrooms - threw that on the pizza AFTER it came out of the oven - and TONS of toppings - sopping wet - and no cheese on top - and the whole thing wasn't "done" cooking. I work at a pizza shop - I know how a pie is supposed to look and taste. This was garbage. I wanted to drive over to the store to show them what they did - but my smarter half suggested against it. Tips for Pizza Factory: You should try making a pizza the way you make it for a customer - and try eating it yourself. First question - can I pick up the slice of pizza? If the answer is "No" - then make it differently. If you get the pizza in your mouth you should ask yourself "Does this pizza taste good?" If the answer is "No" - you should make it differently. I used to love this place - back in the day. They haven't made me a good pie in years. Every so often I give them a try. The other local shops are no better - does nobody know how to make a pizza in Amesbury? So many pizza shops - but none are any good. Salisbury and Newburyport have much better Pizza. My family and I have been coming here for years - it used to be our favorite place to go for subs and pizza. But, over the past several years, the quality of the food continues to drop. The quality of the lettuce, tomato, chicken (!!), bread (basically all the fundamental ingredients for subs/sandwiches and salads) all have gone down hill. First of all I don't know what happened to this place, I remember when it was a great place with great friendly staff and decent food. Definitely not the case anymore because it is now absolutely disgusting. I ordered a chicken parm and after they told me it would be 15 minutes, which was fine, I went to go pick it up. When I get there and get my sub I was horrified at how FILTHY this place was. None of the kitchen staff making subs were wearing gloves, no masks, and a very dirty prep station. The floor was also dirty. The staff was very rude and looked like they wanted to be somewhere else. Which I totally get- its food service after all but it would be nice if you at least pretended like you gave a single fuck. After already paying and getting my sub I get home only to be even more disappointed. My sub was a soggy mess. It also had no cheese even though I told the girl over the phone to please put extra cheese on it. It was basically just frozen reheated chicken tender and canned sauce on a soggy sub roll. I understand this is a no frills establishment but Jesus Christ could you at least clean up a little bit and maybe put a little more effort into your food? Definitely not going back! read more

Just moved to Amesbury. My husband likes the subs & gyros...cheeseburger rocks. I cannot order anything but the steak Caesar salad...AWESOME! Always cooked perfectly with massive, tender pieces of steak. This salad scores a 10!! People are very friendly. I am not a fan of Greek pizza...but they are open late & I bet an after the pub slice is a good call! I wonder why no rice pilaf with the dinners though?? Still...close & tasty. The main qualification is that it's open. Yeah, there isn't anything open late night and when the rotary area becomes a ghost town, Pizza Factory is always there to save the day with mediocre pizza. It's white flour dough, sauce and frozen cheese splayed onto your pie. It is literally your run of the mill, basic, no frills pizza. Nothing more and nothing less. read more

The pizza is average - good greasy and satisfying. The service gets four stars. We had pizza delivered on a week night. After the delivery guy left we realized that he forgot to give us our onion rings. We called and he came right back and pleasantly gave us our onion rings with a smile! Then we opened the pizza box and saw that all the cheeze on our pizza had slid over to one side. We called, and the delivery guy came back again with a brand new pizza for us. The best Chicken Caesar wrap EVER. Seriously, you have to have this sandwich. Other food is decent to good too - large servings of light onion rings, standard sub shop fare of premade chicken cutlets and mozz sticks, dinner entrees are large enough to share, the calzones are packed and huge. Oddly, I am sure they use the same dough for these (which are good) and the pizza (which is not). Pizza factory is what it is- decent food, for cheap. If it were located somewhere else, I'd prob give it a 3 at best, but because it's in Newburyport, cheap food is a blessing. It's a reliable lunch location and pretty much the only place in town I can get lunch for under $5. read more

My 3 daughters and I were searching for a place to get a quick bite after a dance competition (it was late and a few other places were already closed!) and stumbled upon the pizza factory. The staff was friendly and helpful, and we all loved our food. The salads were fresh and delicious (and it was 10pm!), my youngest who is the pickiest of eaters loved her pizza (it is extra cheesy, and right up her alley!), and my middle daughter had the spaghetti and meatballs and absolutely loved it (and the garlic bread that came with it!) The staff kept checking on us to make sure we liked everything. If I lived in the Amesbury area, this would be my go-to place for take out! Oh and the wings were great too! :) read more

the bf convinced me to go here for din last night because "they have the best square pizza" and they are open after 9pm which is rare in this area. So we got the pizza/salad home and much to my bf's disappointment, the pizza was not cut in squares, it was a regular round pizza. Must be different ownership.. how sad. I thought the pizza was good, esp. if you like greek-style and extra greasy. There was lots of cheese and the crust was crisp so I enjoyed it. My caesar salad was bland, but the dressing was good. I don't mind when I really need a junk food fix, I love Greek food also, but they are sorely overpriced and they charge 2.00 for delivery but the driver always wants an additional tip when i live literally around the corner. Takes him less than 2 min to my house.
