Walked around Newburyport for the day, looking for pizza for a quick lunch and stopped by Stone Crust. Loved their crust, on thinner side and crisp - we got the fig pizza which was a tad sweet for us but it was good! They even brought our water for the pups as we sat outside and ate. So disappointed today with Stone Crust Pizza. We always enjoy their pizza and fries. Today, we ordered to go a couple sandwiches, 2 orders of fries and chicken tenders. It wasn't until we were 20 minutes down the road that we unpacked the food only to find the fries burnt to a crisp (maybe 12 were barely edible) and the chix tenders were way overcooked. My daughter who loves all things chicken couldn't eat them. $30.00 down the drain. A lot of young people working who seemed to be goofing off and not monitoring quality of the food before it goes to a table or in a box. They had to have seen how crappy the fries and tenders were and they still boxed them up. read more

Was walking along newburyport and stumbled across this place we were visiting from NYC and were craving pizza. We ordered a margarita pizza. The pizza's flavor was ok. There was plenty of sauce and basil but there were parts of the pie /slices that had absolutely no cheese on it. The crust was tasty very crispy but would be considered a thin crust in NYC. The staff were attentive not overly friendly. The decor was modern gray brick with black metal trim and tables .The menu was this large wall display on the side of the ordering counter which i thought was great . Your not standing in front of a counter gazing up like a deer in headlights while the staff wait for you to take in all the possibilities. Getting pizza anywhere outside of NYC is being adventurous and optimistic to say the least. read more

Great food. Funny, we went looking for pizza and ended up with burgers and wedge fries. Small sit down area in store. Giant sized wall menu described each ingredient that made up the various pizzas, burgers and salads. I went for the farm burger. Ham, bacon, egg, ground beef patty, mixed cheeses, lettuce, onion, tomato, mayo and ketchup. I obviously made some changes. No salads on my burgers. Off with the lettuce, onion and tomato as well as the ketchup. Within minutes, I had a hot off the grill, juicy, ever so slightly pink, delicious farm burger!! An outstanding burger experience after a 500 hundred mile trip. With my burger were wedgie fries. Small cuts and pieces of steak fries, but maybe they double fried them? Every single fry was crispy and salted to perfection. Washed it all down with a Dr. Pepper from a small beverage fridge and was thoroughly content. Staff were friendly and got everything I needed. What a sweet slice! We were out and about and ended up in Newburyport on a Sunday afternoon. It was later in the day but was starved so we decided to get a slice at Stone Crust. What a slice! Their slices ate a quarter of a pizza! And they are not kidding when they say "stone". The bottom crust is crispy and crunchy and the crust itself also has a crisp crunch. Normally I don't eat the crust. I eat the crust at Stone Crust. The sauce is delicious. Not that acidic sauce you get at some pizza joints. Cheese...delicious. All at a very affordable price. There is seating outside and some inside. They also serve subs and all kinds of sandwiches and calzone. They're open til 9 pm all nights and on Fridays And Saturdays til 1 am at the window. The slices are $3.97 each but generous in size, about a 1/4 of a 14 in pie I would guess. The crust was thin and crispy after they warmed the slices in the oven. Ordered delivery so I don't have an opinion on what the inside/outside of the place looks like. We ordered two large pizzas: a cheese and a broccoli onion one. The broccoli and onion was my favorite. I love how crispy the broccoli came out and the onions made it flavorful. The crust was thin but not too thin. The cheese pizza was good as well but not as good as the other. I feel like the cheese pizza was a bit boring compared to other pizza places. The pizza was a bit on the greasy side as well. I had to soak off the grease at the top with my napkin. Overall, the pizza was delicious for a quick dinner meal. Delivery speed was average, about an hour but they were probably busy with takeout orders. Every time I go by in the past months and look in the window (you can see workers from the street) the employees have no masks or masks pulled down under their chin. Today we ordered an italian sub. I asked how big was the sub roll, when the employee showed me the roll, I noticed mold on it. I also noticed mold on another sub roll from the same package. I told the employee that there was mold on the roll and they couldn't serve people those rolls. Thinking they would get and use a fresh package of rolls (my mistake!!!) we took our sub to our picnic. When we got there we noticed the sub roll did indeed have mold on it. Being too far away at this point to return to the shop, we had to toss the sub. Not one person greeted when my girl and I walked in the door and during ordering everything seem like not just one person but the other person at the register had a bad attitude. Pizza is fine enough, but literally ZERO of the staff are wearing masks. And there's a lot of them - maybe 7-10 people on an average Friday or Saturday night, plus whoever's in the shop waiting. You have to go inside to pay, and try not to get sick of the goddamn PLAGUE. I don't fault the workers - they're a bunch of kids probably getting shit pay, but I definitely fault the owners for not enforcing this. Plus, the owners should be putting up plexiglass barriers between the workers and the customers - there's none of that. You get the sense that the owners don't give two hoots about their customers' safety, nor that of their employees. read more

This place nailed it! We were up for a day trip to Newburyport (which is gorgeous) to break the quarantine monotony when we needed lunch. We ordered a small cheese (for the kids), a small Port-Italia (for us), and a chicken kabob salad. The pizzas were both very tasty, the fig one being really special, and the salad was fresh and tasty with nicely grilled chicken.
