You go here for the wonderful food, and hospitality, not the ambience. It is basically a small sub shop with a wide range of Italian and Indian fusion dishes as well as subs and pizzas I really need to try some of his Indian dishes, but I can't seem to not order his Indian pizza. I always just end up ordering a small Chicken Korma and Chicken Tikka Masala pizzas. I'd also like to add that it's one of the few pieces where I enjoy eating the crust. It's in and very buttery. If you eat in during the winter, it can get a little cold with the people coming in or take out orders. The owner is quite a character and his wife and daughter are wonderful as well. read more

Food and service were excellent. The owner/chef is a very nice and thoughtful man who always inquires about your experience with Indian food so that he can be sure he cooks everything to your liking. Everything is made fresh and cooked to order. We ordered quite a bit of food and it was ready in 25 minutes. We ordered chicken curry (hot). Nice spice and the chicken is succulent dark meat and trimmed perfectly. We also ordered goat biryani (medium heat), basmati rice, garlic and aloo naan, as well as Tadka Daal (medium heat). Ordered chicken tikka masala and some garlic naan online and didn't notice that there was a pick up time on my confirmation email so I showed up a 1/2 hour early but the man working in the kitchen told me to not worry and it would be ready in 10 minutes. Which it was. the chicken tikka masala was probably the best Indian food I've had in the last 10 years. Creamy, just the right amount of spice, flavorful... just delicious. We have been delighted by our Pizza Grove experiences for the last 7 years. The family is very dedicated to delivering delicious (an exotic!) curry pizza. We've had their mixed pickle too - which is THE condiment to enjoy with your pizza. With some reservation, ordered a variety of Indian dishes and their cold Turkey sub. ALOO TIKKI, BUTTER CHICKEN TIKI MASALA CHICKEN, CURRY CHICKEN, VEGGIE SAMOSA, GARLIC NAAN, ONION CHUTNEY and BASMATI RICE. Placed the order at 4:30, arrive at 5:00 and I wait 10 minutes and told it'll be another 5 minutes and I confirm my order and go out to my car for a few, come back at 5:20 and sort of ignored until 5:25. He places a large order on the counter that I could tell wasn't mine. He looks at me at 5:30 and says, "here's your food". I explain it's not mine and tbh a little irritated at this point. He then apologizes and actually tells me my order has been ready since 5:00. Now I'm annoyed.. but he apologizes and is a bit sheepish. To make up for it he doesn't charge me for a Turkey sub I ordered for a picky eater at home. Still add a 10 dollar tip to a $120 order. Get everything home and nothing is labeled so tbh was 100% sure what was what b/n the chicken dishes but everything tasted ok, the Newburyport spots I recall to be much better, but admittedly order Indian 2-3 times a year, so I'm no expert. I can tell you the aloo tiki is/was terrible looking and tasting, very greasy, heavy, foul tasting. The naan was good, samosas very good and the chicken dishes just average. Now the icing on the cake, the picky eater found a human hair, black, maybe 3" long in the Turkey sub so naturally that gets tossed, good thing it was free... To be fair the cook was wearing gloves and had a hat on and pretty sure had no hair so not sure where that came from. Gross just the same. The interior of the place should not be confused with a place that is concerned with appearance or cleanliness. So the Indian cuisine gets 2.5 stars, the Turkey sub gets negative 3 stars, service 2 stars. All in all a generous overall 2 star experience. Won't be back. read more

This place has gone downhill. The food is never ready even close to when they promise it. They'll tell you to pickup in 20 minutes and it'll take 45 and this happens every time. Usually, when I show up when they tell me to, they are just putting my food in the oven. The quality of the food used to make up for this but now that has dropped off too. I only get the pizza and subs here but now I almost never go here anymore. read more

Why would you charge a 3% service fee for a pickup order??? And you don't even disclose the charge on your menu or website anywhere. This is plain old bait and switch.... Show one price but then charge a higher one. If you think your deserve a service fee (aka, tip) for just the basics of running your business, then get into another business. read more

When you are driving down 97 from Georgetown thru to Haverhill the last thing you expect to see is a sign for Pizza and Indian Cuisine! I passed it several times thinking it was just a strange leftover sign, and then one day i decided to see for myself... My biggest mistake...waiting as long as I did. The place is great, the family running it, wonderful and the food is as authentic as you want it or toned down for those with less tolerance. Chatting with the owner I felt like I was part of the family or like I dropped by an old buddy's place. I mentioned that I live with two vegans and he explained how almost all of the Indian food can be adapted, and for myself as a carnivorous flexaterian, he can add spices and more to taste. And the results are incredible. The masala sauce is incredibly rich with a spectacular delayed burst of flavor that hits you a few seconds later. The nan I'm told was great and the butter chicken was also very good. They have also created several hybrid pizza and sub variations that leverage the Indian flavor Profiles while still coming out like pizza. I've now gone there twice in as many weeks and almost feel guilty going elsewhere. Cannot possibly recomend them enough! read more

We love the pizza grove!!! The prices are on point for the portions, the food is ALWAYS excellent every single time. The owner and his family are always welcoming and friendly. The samosas are huge and have so much flavor. The chicken tikka masala is creamy and delicious, I order medium and it's the perfect amount of spice, and the chicken is tender. The mango lahsi (spelling?) is also one of my favorite. My only comment would be even if I order 2 of the exact same thing, I'd like to be asked first if it's okay to put it all in one container! Had a friend over and we got the same thing and it came in one container which made it more difficult to split everything up evenly. (Cause you 100% will have leftovers too!) This place is by far the best Indian food around and we come all the time. Give them a try! They do pizzas and subs too. And even Indian pizzas. Love it! read more

Local spot for me, i've been here time and time again.. Ordered a small pepperoni pizza.. Got there and decided to get two small cups of blue cheese, as well.. As the gentleman rings me up, I see the pizza, fair, the pepperoni, fair, a "service charge".. uhh ok.. then I see two random made up things.. one for $1.80 something, another for $1.17ish something... We drove by this hole in the wall and then saw the sign for a place with Indian AND Italian food and I HAD to jump on Yelp to check it out. The reviews couldn't be ignored so we flipped the car around and checked it out. We were not disappointed! We started with Aloo Tikki which I had never had before. That was my 10 year olds favorite! We also had veggie pakora and the sweet lady brought out a plate of fries for the kids. We ordered chicken tikka masala pizza, and the very nice man really wanted to get the spice right for our family so he had the boys taste test the sauce until it was the perfect temp for our family. That personal care goes a long way. They took such great care of our family and we will definitely be back. We can't wait to try Indian dishes!! read more

Over the summer, PG catered my wedding. We had a very casual backyard affair with about 60 people. They made Indian pizzas for lunch and then an Indian/Italian dinner for us. The food was incredible! I'm still getting compliments on it months later. For a lot of our family, this was their first time eating Indian food and they were instantly converted. Absolute flavor explosion! A group of us ordered several items off the menu and each one was great. I can't remember every dish but my husband and I got the samosas, garlic naan, jalapeño paneer pizza, malai kofta and lamb korma and they were all amazing. If you want some crazy good exotic creamy mouth feel get the malai kofta, I prefer to eat vegetarian so this was really fantastic for me. We live in haverhill and were looking for somewhere different to get pizza. We tried the grove based on reviews and so glad we did. We got the jalapeño curry pizza and the sweet and salty.
