    Halibut chowder- Very good
    Jocelyn L.

I will start by saying that the ambiance and decor were truly amazing, a very cozy space. Now on to the important thing, to me at least... THE FOOD! Almost everything we got was underwhelming. The halibut chowder was the only thing I really enjoyed and tasted great! I was very excited to try the halibut and fries based on other reviews but everything had no flavor, like they didn't even add a pinch of salt so I was highly disappointed to pay close to $40 for a meal that tasted like nothing. The fries were supposed to have salt, pepper, garlic and definitely didn't have either of the three. The fried pickles were OK, the duck drumsticks had a strong meat flavor & gave me the ick. I would not come back here for the food.. we didn't have a drink but it seems more like a cocktail lounge than a place you should go to for food. There was only 1 waitress & 1 person bringing out food so props to them because the place was packed, they did a great job!

This place usually has a line out front. Passed by the first day and they could not accommodate a walk up so we made a reservation for the next night. We were seated pretty quickly. This place is an unexpected fun retro gem in a small town. Made me feel like I had stepped into Palm Springs 1965. So fun. Service was friendly and attentive. Food was fantastic. I highly recommend eating here.

    Rockfish with orzo

This is a snazzy retro cocktail lounge with okay food. I ordered the rockfish which comes with orzo and it wasn't bad but it needed more sauce to better balance the flavors and dryness. The ambience is neat and had lots of figurines and liquor bottles lining the walls. Our server was very personable. The place gets busy so definitely make a reservation.

Funky place for sure! They have Baby Bakers appetizers that could feed an army and is so delicious! Must have reservations but we got lucky and snagged a couple of bar seats.

Passed by here on our first day in Seward. The vibe looked funky as Hell on the outside, which I kinda digged. Immediately wanted to go in and try it out, but it was packed. Which I honestly didn't consider since it was toward the end of the season. It just goes to show how good this place was that it was still loaded during this time of the year. Would definitely recommend getting reservations if you want to eat here. We were able to reserve dinner for the next night, and it didn't disappoint. Whatever image that brings up in your mind when you hear Flamingo Lounge, that is the atmosphere you are walking into. We got the Bucket of Butt and the Sourdough Bread Board as well as a couple of drinks. The drinks were top notch, and the Bucket of Butt was some of the best halibut I've ever had in my entire life. If I had one complaint, it's only that there wasn't enough butt in that bucket. If we ever come back to Seward, this is definitely the first place I'll eat at.

Literally stumbled upon this place while exploring their downtown area. Would've eaten there then, but they were completely full so made reservations for the next night. So glad we did! Feels like you're stepping back in time, and I am here for that. Such a classic vibe, and the menu reflected that. Let me tell you - the Bucket of Butt is the way to go. These chunks of halibut were perfectly cooked and so freaking delicious. And their tartar sauce was just a bonus. Also enjoyed their soughdough bread board - good starter. Nice drink menu. Loved their Pink Pony Club Marg. It's definitely busy here, so it is a bit louder. Service was good. Make reservations. If you want to eat here, it's your best bet of getting a table. Overall, great dining experience. Highly recommend.

"Sinatra Would've Ordered the Halibut" If Frank, Dean, and Sammy ever took a detour north to Seward, Alaska, The Flamingo Lounge is where they'd hang their fedoras. The place oozes mid-century cool -- like someone took a page out of the Sands Hotel playbook and dropped it right on the waterfront, only swapped the desert for glaciers and halibut. Step through the doors and you're instantly back in the golden era of jazz and martinis. The lighting is soft, the music croons, and the cocktails are mixed like they mean it -- none of this "just a splash" business. The bartender could pass for Sinatra's understudy, pouring an Old Fashioned that would make even the Chairman of the Board raise a glass. The seafood? Baby, it swings. The halibut was so fresh I half-expected it to start humming "Fly Me to the Moon." The scallops came out golden and buttery, the crab legs practically winked at me, and every bite felt like a curtain call for Alaska's finest flavors. The crowd was a perfect mix of locals, travelers, and a few folks who looked like they might've stepped right out of a Rat Pack photo shoot -- all smiles, no pretension. You get the sense that if Dean Martin were alive, he'd be crooning by the bar with a martini in one hand and a shrimp cocktail in the other. Pro tip: Dress up a little -- not because you have to, but because it feels right. Order a martini, look out at the harbor, and pretend you've just finished a show at the Sands. The Flamingo Lounge isn't just a restaurant; it's a time machine with better seafood. As Sinatra might've said: it's the kind of joint where the world still spins on vinyl.

Ah yes, The Flamingo Lounge. This has been on my must visit for a few years and this summer was finally my opportunity to try it! I thoroughly enjoyed the ambiance and decor of the restaurant but I am disappointed to say that the menu wasn't as exciting as I had hoped. I ordered the Tanner crab and it was good but the mushrooms on the side were under seasoned and the stuffed dates were burned. Service could have been better as well. Perhaps next time will hit the mark.

Whiskey bottle with an elephant stopper. White Negroni with blueberry ice cube and perfectly cooked rockfish.

Love the ambiance, and the food is good,, but not amazing. The cocktails are amazing. Best thing on the menu is the bucket of butt. We had the rockfish and it was cooked perfectly, but was unseasoned. If not for the salty fries, I would have had to add additional seasoning. All in all, make time to have a dinner there, but be sure to make reservations as it's a very popular place.

Their one and only dessert. Brownie al a mode.

It was nice atmosphere very very busy probably one of the coolest places in Seaward. Must try the crab legs and the halibut chowder! Pass on the hummus plate

The flamingo lounge in Seward Alaska has lost the class of the old THORNE showcase lounge. I've never been so insulted by a bartender.

I am on a 100 day tour around Alaska and Canada and have travelled through the south eastern islands / marine highway and Haines Junction / Tok by this point with no issue. 5 nights booking. Stated in booking I had mobility issues. Did not check until I arrived then they downgraded me to a room on the second floor via elevator. Would they come get me in an emergency? Would not have chosen this hotel if I couldn't get the advertised room. The given room only had a single handrail in the bathroom a distance from the toilet or sink. The shower was not step-free but mostly step-free. There was no rubber mat. The breakfast was very difficult to use with a walker and there was no assistance. On 3 occasions non disabled guests parked or blocked the disabled spots, raised with front desk, did nothing. On two of those occasions the lots were also full and I had to walk with my walker a significant distance in the rain. They had company vehicles blocking spots preventing me entering and others leaving and when asked if they could move temporarily I was told no. On third occurrence of disabled use/blocking informed them if I see it again I will be contacting police. Supervisor told me he was unaware of these issues which means they must have never raised or discussed them among themselves. He got sarcastic with me and told me I should call the police right now. I said it's your hotel I'm doing you a courtesy by telling you and not calling the police but I will the next time I see it. I left the hotel at this point as I simply don't know if I can park there or trust they would rescue me. DO NOT STAY HERE Attached are some photos showing these issues

The oysters were good, the dip could be improved. It seemed to be greasy. Our waitress was very good and attentive. That food was mediocre, but at least we did not wait forever. Today it was pouring in Seward, and the one genuinely lovely part of the experience was the window seat. The rainy harbor view was beautiful, and we even saw baby otters while waiting for the food. Service was inconsistent from the start. We were never given table bread, even though every table around us got some, so not sure what happened there. We started with oysters, and they were just okay. Definitely not memorable, and nowhere close to Taylor Shellfish oysters on Chuckanut Drive. For mains, we ordered the halibut fish and chips and the halibut Andaman. Both were disappointing. The halibut was dry and chewy, which was surprising given how expensive it was. I love fish and usually enjoy sea bass and cod, but this did not work for me at all. The Andaman description mentioned fish with rice and vegetables, but it literally came with rice and basically two pieces of broccoli. For the price, that felt almost insulting. Two mains alone were close to $100. Dessert completely finished off whatever goodwill I still had. We ordered ice cream with hot fudge, but it looked like it had been sitting out too long before being served. The fudge was not even warm, and the ice cream was already half melted. Overall, Ray's Waterfront gets points for the harbor view and atmosphere, especially on a cold rainy July Sunday in Seward. But the food was underwhelming, the service felt uneven, and the pricing did not match the quality. Beautiful setting, disappointing meal.
