    Halibut sandwich

We stopped by for lunch. They were out of salmon. Halibut sandwich consisted of fried fish sticks, a slice of cheese, some lettuce, red onions and dressing on a bun. The salad was a side, instead of fries. The waitress was nice.

We decided to come here for dinner close to 8 pm on a Friday and it was completely empty, except for the staff. I ordered the fried mozzarella to start out with, which came within 5 minutes. I was confused as to why it was served on top of a bed of shredded lettuce? I've never seen that before and found it quite odd. The mozzarella sticks tasted like it was frozen from a box in my experience. There was nothing special to it. The pizza came out pretty quickly too and it was super floppy. Every time you try to pick it up the toppings and cheese would fall off. It was quite irritating, but it tasty good nonetheless. The kitchen closed at 8:15 so we had to order quickly. Not sure if this is an everyday thing or just certain days of the week. It was an overall cute place with plenty of seating inside located in downtown Seward near the harbor. Nice area, but pretty empty due to the end of the season.

The food was good and that's what gets Apollo 3 stars. We had a basic cheese pizza and a salmon spaghetti special of the day and both were good. Portions were decent but overall the food is pricey as was our experience in seward at other places too. Now with so much abundance of salmon in Alaska, I'd expect it to be cheaper. But I wonder whether the brown bears get them all, raising the cost for humans. We were not so impressed with the service. The gentleman who seated us didn't seem like he was happy to see us. The server was nice and friendly but the service was just super slow. It took really long to be seated, for someone to even come take our order and then for the food to come out. We thought of leaving a couple of times but hung on there because we were so hungry.

This place is perfect vacations food, big pieces of fish my favorite was the halibut. everything was really good. They have great Italian food. Pizza was excellent large portions. Nice to clean. Definitely go to this place. Wonderful for families. There's something for everyone. Large menu with different things.

A cute little spot serving up Italian and Greek eats in Seward. They're open later than most places, but are also a tad understaffed -- the wait for getting a table and also the food to arrive was pretty long. That being said, our server was so nice and checked in to see if everything was good! The food here is solid, comfort food -- I wouldn't say anything knocked it out of the park flavor-wise but the ravioli had lots of cheesy goodness and the pizza was pretty tasty too. The portions here were also very large and I recommend ordering any pizzas and pastas family-style!

This wasn't my first dining choice for Seward, but the place I wanted to go was not open. We ended up here and dinner was good. I had the seafood pasta and my friend had the lasagna, both were very filling and tasty. The breadsticks were SUPER yummm! I jokingly told him I wonder if they are frozen because my taste really does range, sometimes I'll really like something that isn't even homemade and other times I can despise it. Either way, get the breadsticks - they come with most of the entrees I believe. I also had a nice glass of red wine. All in all, there is really little to nothing open in AK in October we were grateful to have a warm meal that tasted good and great service.

During summer time, all the restaurants were packed and has a long wait so we decided to come here as we were able to be seated in 10 minutes. They were severely understaffed and you can tell how stressed out the waitresses were. We ordered salad and it was never served. We got the halibut fish and chips and thick pizza. The fish and chips were good; wish the fish or batter had a bit more seasoning. The thick pizza was overwhelming with the amount of dough; definitely way more than it should be. Even my friends who love pizza thought it was too much. Would not recommend getting the thick pizza; maybe their regular pizza is better.

Seward is a sleepy town that closes early and is even slower in the winter. What do you expect from a town of 2900 people? older establishments, stuck in a time warp for decor. That's Alaska. But then you stumble into Apollo which doesn't look like much from the outside. Friendly server, Valerie I think washer name. My friend ordered a calzone and it was by far the biggest calzone I have ever seen in my life. I ordered the cheese ravioli with marinara sauce. Our other friend ordered chicken Caesar salad and soup which looked delicious. My ravioli was so fantastic. I haven't found much good Italian food in Anchorage. So the next time I crave Italian food I might just have to drive down to Apollo! Highly recommend

    Potato soup -no bueno

Well this was one of two places open on a Friday night. It's been years since I've been here and there is a reason. Starting with the ambiance...it's dated and run down, could use a major facelift. The service...they were kind and quick which we appreciated so much. Our waitress was as sweet as could be. The food...meh. I got a cup of potato soup and it was different. Mostly emulsified, so no good chunks, just baby food style. Flavor was ok. The breadsticks were disgusting and saturated with grease. The Pizza was acceptable, could have had a little more meat but that's just nit picking. Overall, I would not eat here again unless I was desperate and there was nothing else. The prices are sky high and while this is a tourist town in the summer, it is winter and only locals go here. It's just not reasonable when the food isn't even that good. Bummer

You can smell the BBQ as you walk up. The seating is picnic tables in an outdoor setting. It makes you feel like you are eating a BBQ meal in someone's backyard. You just walk up to the order counter and pick up your food when it is ready and grab a seat. A couple from Texas started Firebrand BBQ when they moved to Seward. It was nice to find some Texas-style BBQ in this little town. The menu has a number of smoke meats like brisket, pulled pork, sausage, turkey and pork belly. Sides are the usual sides that go with BBQ like potato salad and cole slaw. I got the Sandwich Combo with Brisket and Cole Slaw for lunch. I loved my meal and enjoyed my time here with my buddies. Firebrand BBQ has some specialty items like Frito Pie and Loaded BBQ Potato on thier menu. They also serve breakfast before 11am. You can pick up a bottle of their BBQ sauce at the order counter.

Our meat of choice was the brisket, which came shredded. Parts were hard and dry and we doused it with their BBQ sauce which is very watery. Tried a bit of my SIL's pork belly which was hard and dry too. We weren't asked if we wanted onions, jalapeños and pickles, and I didn't realize it until we were almost done. They might have balanced out the meat. Oh well. Wanted to order the crab legs, but they just ran out. Cashier said we could check back later since they were de-thawing more. Outdoor seating only.

My son ordered the chicken and waffles- he said the waffles were good but the chicken, tho well fried was completely lacking seasoning My partner ordered the buttermilk fried chicken entree with mashed potatoes and he had the same sentiment- no seasoning and also added that it was a boneless chicken thigh, and the texture was also off putting. I ordered the Alfredo pasta with a bay shrimp add on and the clam chowder- both were okay, my main complaints being that my food was lukewarm while the chicken that my son and partner ordered were steaming hot- the chowder was very well seasoned and flavorful- but also very thick and I got a clam that was gritty. Not a terrible place to eat, their hospitality was great... but also idk if I would go back if given the choice. Based on past reviews, we prob should have ordered burgers.

I walked in and was seated immediately, I chose to sit at the bar because it's just easier and the chairs all have better cushion. After seeing another patron eating a burger i decided to order one too! Great choice. I had the jalapeño burger with bacon jam and man was it delicious. The burger was a perfect medium well, the brioche bun was perfectly toasted, the white cheddar cheese was the perfect complement to the slightly sweet bacon jam, the bacon was crispy, Smokey and not greasy. The only complaint was the slice of tomato that is out of season and tasteless. I mean it is Alaska after all. My seafood chowder which I paid an additional $4.00 for a cup was okay but whatever, the burger made up for it. All in all it was a great experience and delicious meal. Because it was the middle of the afternoon on a weekday, the place wasn't as packed and noisy as it can be sometimes. The ambiance was super relaxed today so I sat and ate inside. We took a walk to the waterfront for 15-20 mins and could have easily gotten a drink somewhere or done some window shopping. The fried chicken, salmon, and shrimp and grits. We ended up ordering the cream cheese ice cream which ended up taking FOREVER since they forgot about it and never checked on us. Unfortunately the cream cheese ice cream was also kinda disappointing and was just like scooped frozen cheesecake - which don't get me wrong is delish but not worth the wait or $.
