Glad I didn't read the reviews before we ordered! The place was nearly empty but we took a chance - glad we did. Best fish and chips we've had in a long time. The 3-piece rockfish was amazing. Crisp, flavorful breading and not overly greasy. Loved the tartar sauce - and I don't even like tartar sauce. Regarding prices- everything is overpriced in Seward these summer days. We shared 3 generous pieces between 3 of us as a midday snack and with the pile of hot fries it was plenty. Would easily fill up 2 people for lunch. The place isn't perfect- we had to ask where we ate because there isn't clear signage outside. And it looks like they're in the midst of remodeling. Still, we enjoyed our food very much. read more

Would've likely just let this slide and chalked it up as a loss, but the fact that the person that was supposed to be taking orders was on her "break" and she said we'd have to wait was ridiculous. The employees at least share what they think is better, and... well yeah. 1.5 stars. Man, I wish I looked at the yelp reviews before I ate here with my family. We got two crab burgers, and the combo and calamari. The combo wasn't worth the 39$; the soup was bitter and briney with wine, the king crab leg was dainty and watered down, and the crab cake was bland. The calamari was rubbery and bland as well, if I didn't have the sauce with it, I probably wouldn't have been able to eat it. The crab burgers tasted like how a hospital smells. It needed to be smothered in ketchup and mustard for me to be able to stomach half the burger. The staff were alright, if not outright ignoring us as well. If you need to stay in this area, find another of the many nearby restaurants. Otherwise, get away from this part of town and find somewhere else. I wish my Yelp was working before I got here so that I didn't have to subject my husband and myself to this place. After being turned off from the Seafood Grill across the street due to a worker who clearly didn't care about customers OR his job. I made the executive decision to go here instead. And while the girl taking orders was very sweet, the food was sorely lacking. The seafood chowder was mediocre for a fishing town, and my husbands "halibut burger" looked more like a crab cake; which is why we thought there was a mistake, so I took it to the worker to have it redone but apparently THAT was what they considered a halibut burger. It looked and tasted more like bread stuffing formed into a patty and sandwiched between hamburger buns. It was literally a bread burger. And then the fries were terrible as well! Ugh. At least they let us get a refund on his food. It wasn't until I restarted my phone that yelp worked again and I saw that common complaint. If I can give this place a zero I would. We came here to hopefully pay a little less then some of the other restaurants harbor side. I wanted pizza and my husband wanted crab. First we tried two doors to get in but there were no signs to use any other doors. Finally we found a way in and this place is kind of 3 restaurants in one. A pizza, seafood and burrito joint in one. I thought she would have just handed me a soda cup for the machine they had that looked self serve but she said it was broken. Ok. I asked for root beer and she looked at me like I was nuts. I figured out that all the workers were Serbian and they don't have rootbeer there. They also don't serve ice regularly so I had to ask for ice in my cup. My husband orders snow crab and crab soup with a soda. Which btw was a whopping $32. We're thinking it would be a ton of crab for that price especially since this hole in the wall was serving it. He waited 20 minutes and finally went to the counter and come to find out they had never even placed the order with the kitchen. It's a counter service it should have taken 5 minutes. So finally he gets a teeny tiny cluster of snow crab legs and a bowl of soup with no silverware. My husband had to go up and crab his utensils from behind the counter. He eats it in 5 minutes and we both go to wash our hands. Let me tell you that if the health inspector came to this place it would be shut down. A man came out of the women's bathroom and when I went in to wash my hands I couldn't believe the filth. Completely disgusting. Please do not come here. Who knows, you could get really sick. We were pretty lucky. This place need serious work and to train their workers before opening because apparently they still have a lot to learn. read more

Our food did not come out together...My father's cheeseburger and AWFUL fries came out before my daughter's FEW snow crab legs arrived without the proper utensils. To top it off, my order NEVER came out. After seeing the quality of their food and waiting while they ate; I requested my money back rather than asking for my meal. I ordered a seafood combo and the crab cake was dry, the French fries were soggy and overcooked and there was no cracker for the crab leg. I was told that it was already split in the middle but it was still difficult to extract the meat from the shell without the proper utensils. When the server brought our food to the table, we had to ask for our drinks which he forgot to serve first. There were 2 bottles of ketchup on our table and they were both almost empty. One of us had to get up and grab a full bottle from another table. I noticed that other diners had to ask for napkin because their napkin holders were empty. Negative 10 stars. We came here two years ago and had the best Halibut ever and we were so excited to come back. Well we learned that a new owner has taken over this year and the food was AWFUL!!!! Burnt halibut, greasiest halibut I have ever tasted,and the breading was so greasy that it was soggy. Our meals did not all come out at the same time. My husband order king crab legs and fries for $35 and he got one crab leg and cold greasy fries. We ordered chicken nuggets for our toddler and saw them dump frozen dinobites into the frier.
