    Crunch Bowl

The food was good at the Highliner, my friend and I really enjoyed the crunch bowls. My other friends got the fish and chips and seemed to really enjoy that along with their beers. A good family friendly restaurant with quick service!

Stopped by this spot while visiting Seward and it was delicious!! Service was great and staff were very welcoming and friendly. Plenty of seating available inside. There are lots of options on the menu. Plenty of parking as well. Definitely recommend. Food review: Fish tacos: (4.5/5) Fried cod with flour tortillas. The fish was so fresh and had the perfect crunch to them. The mango was a nice touch. Blackened salmon: (5/5) Super fresh and cooked to perfection. It was absolutely delicious!

In 2025 we went to this restaurant off the beaten path in Seward. What a nice place all by itself. Four of us enjoyed our meals. I had a Mushroom Swiss burger but I don't remember what everyone else ordered. I looked at all of the dishes that other patrons were eating and they all looked great. We came back on another trip. We like this place.

I loved that it was walking distance from our historical haunted hotel. Had dinner on one of the rainy nights and got seated next to window peeking through mountain peaks. Scenic view, food was ok, little extra oily for my taste. Ordered meditarrenean linguini pasta and mushroom bean patty burger. Server was nice.

Food was fine, vibes were weird. Definitely felt more traditional and conservative in both staff and patronage. Food took quite a while to bring out and the freshness was questionable. Blackened chicken on my Caesar salad was precooked and cold when presented -- not my fave way of eating but whatever. We ate at 5-6 other places and liked all of those more than here.

This is one of the few restaurants in town open on Sundays, making it a great go-to spot, especially if you're visiting the area. They do close from 3 to 3:30 p.m. on weekends (and Monday through Friday I believe) to transition from lunch to dinner service, but the brief closure is well worth the wait. The menu offers a variety of options, including pizzas, burgers, soup/salads, sandwiches, and of course, a fair selection of seafood--which was exactly what I was craving. I recommend visiting this restaurant after exploring the Sealife Center, especially if you're on your way back to Anchorage. I ordered the appetizer halibut ceviche, and it did not disappoint! The freshness of the halibut with a good balance of citrus and herbs. The service was fast and friendly, adding to the overall positive experience. Prices are reasonable given the quality of both the food and the service. Whether you're in the mood for seafood or something more casual, this place has something. I recommend checking them out for a relaxed, enjoyable meal.

The atmosphere here is casual, with a clear local vibe--definitely a spot where the locals dine. The host was friendly, and our server was polite and knowledgeable. My wife ordered the cod fish tacos, which were so generously portioned that she shared one with me. The taco had a good kick of spiciness, plenty of cod, sour cream (not typical for authentic tacos, but I get that it's their twist), and fresh veggies. However, the flavors didn't quite come together cohesively. Still, it was a decent taco, and the price was fair. Initially, I ordered the Captain's Special, but our server kindly informed me that everything was fried, so I switched to the Seafood Trio. The presentation was excellent, but unfortunately, the shrimp were overcooked, and the scallops, though sweet, were also overdone. The crab cakes felt more like crab stuffing, with more bread, corn, and fillers than actual crab meat. The price seemed a bit high for the portion size. On a positive note, the veggies were cooked perfectly with a great texture, though the rice pilaf was cold and slightly mushy. Overall, I'd rate this place a solid 3 stars based on the atmosphere and service. The food didn't quite meet my expectations, especially for a $40+ seafood trio. However, the fried seafood platters I saw coming out looked fantastic--huge portions and well-priced, though I didn't get a chance to taste them. Despite some missteps, I'd still recommend giving this place a try because they have other items on their menu.

I relied heavily for dinner tonight and we were not disappointed. We started off with a fried calamari appetizer. It was very crunchy and the aioli helped to round out the dish. Small criticism though as there were only 3 heads/tentacles. Usually there's a lot more. Anyway, the mains were delicious. The fried chicken sandwich was well cooked in all of its crispy wonder. The halibut was cooked perfectly and there were a fair amount of vegetables which was very much needed. One of us ordered the clam chowder and while it tasted good, there were a ton of potatoes and very little clams. I had the salmon which came with mashed potato and veggies. The salmon was I little dry (perhaps because it was a skinny piece) but had great flavor. For dessert, we shared a good sized piece of carrot cake. It was very fresh and the frosting wasn't very sweet. Service was very good. All of the staff were smiling and they were attentive to our needs.

Chicken bacon ranch and a nice view

Ordered online using the Toast app at 8:10pm. Was given pickup time est. 8:35. Waited until 9pm (closing) for my order. Pizza was flaming hot and the fries and onion rings were room temp. Do the math. Hungry campers didn't mind much. It disappeared pretty quickly. One -medium chicken bacon ranch pizza, order of fries, and order of onion rings =$50 Everything was tasty enough. The chicken on the pizza was bleh but the dog enjoyed it. Without the chicken I really enjoyed the pizza but it was not worth $28. Both fries and onion rings while not fresh or hot, were really good. Customer service was also room temperature. Seems like there aren't a lot of options in Seward that aren't hiking up prices and serving mediocre food. I opted to camp for three additional days on top of the 5 I'd reserved, so when the food ran out, I had to try some Seward fare. I will keep a loaf of bread and some peanut butter and jelly on hand if that happens again.

Food- baked halibut was on the dry side, squash/ broccoli/ carrots were excellent, mashed potatoes very good- great flavor. Expensive but all of Alaska is this way. Service- quick and friendly. Would return to try other items.

Clam chowder was great! It was hearty and warm to the soul. Lighting was homey and warm. And waitress was polite and helpful. 10/10 perfect way to end my vacation.

    Bacon cheeseburger

The food was soooooooooooooooo delicious!!! Especially the fries! They had like a chunky salt on them and were crisp and super fresh! The burger patty was also really flavorful and fresh!

Everyone in my party thought their meals were good but not amazing. My blackened salmon surprisingly didn't have much flavor and my dad didn't like the shrimp pasta. However, the star of the show was my aunts fried chicken. That was actually super good

We sat as a group of seven people with the plan to have one check with three people and then four individual checks. This is a bullet pointed list of the issues we had. * We had some miscommunication on the splitting of the checks, which is okay, but I believe she should have double checked, especially because we repeatedly made it clear that the rest of us were singles. This became an issue because she told us at the end that they can only split the check two ways. * All of the food was okay, except my friend's (K) burger being pink inside and the chowder leaving a bad taste in my other friend's (B) mouth afterward. * K ordered a plain burger with cheese and received a burger with everything on it, including mayo which she cannot stand. She mentioned this to our waitress who then said "can you just take the lettuce and stuff off?" We said no and got a new burger, because that was not what K ordered. * My Greek salad was also an issue. I have a nut allergy so I checked with her about the ingredients of the Greek Vinaigrette that they bring with it. She said it had an onion base but didn't know the rest so she asked the kitchen, who she says wouldn't give her an answer on ingredients. * She offered me ranch but I told her I don't like ranch so I'll just go without any dressing, I didn't mind that much. She then offered ranch yet again, which was weird, and also a no from me. * She ended up getting me some olive oil and vinegar, which was perfect. The olive oil did not taste like olive oil though so I double checked that and she said it was, it just tasted more like vegetable oil to me and B. * I overheard her talking to a table behind me (what looked to be a child and their grandma) about them not being able to find the bathroom. She said, "oh you couldn't find it? It's like right there. On your left." She was very rude about it which was surprising to me. I felt that the attitude was unwarranted. * We had the discussion about splitting checks and then waited a while to pay. We also noticed that the checks were split incorrectly even though she had probably quadruple checked who the 3 person group was herself. * It took a while so we just went to the front desk area, where after waiting for a long time we were directed to another desk area. The lady that was standing there, she was blonde and a bit older than our waitress (presumably the manager) then left and made herself busy despite staying there the whole time before,so we had to wait even longer. * J, who had the og 3 person group, went to pay with tap, which our waitress was aware of beforehand. She then informs us that tap doesn't work for checks over $100, and his was $184. B paid her check with her Cashapp card and tried to pay J's too because he couldn't. It took the money out of her Cashapp account but didn't go through. We went back to the first desk, and tried again. K was even getting ready to transfer money in case B's didn't work either. Then, she tells us that apparently she can split the payment into two that are under $100... which would have been wonderful to know before we were running around trying to figure out how to pay our bill. Also, would have been a convenient way to keep it as two checks but still split up payments between the singles. * I also overheard our waitress speaking rudely to her coworker (a girl with black hair and a ponytail who was working hostess) who had asked her a question. She said, "Just press it, it's the same," in, again, a rude tone. * B overheard the manager (? The blonde lady) being rude to our waitress. We would have been more understanding if it was an end of shift slump, but when we sat and asked if the chowder was available she said she had to check because she had just gotten there. We were all very disappointed with this service, especially considering the prices, and will not be going back.

We were hungry and we could choose all the well-known tourist eateries and pay big bucks, or we could go into Alaska Seafood Grill for a more quiet, family-friendly experience. Walking in at 12:40 PM, we saw that we needed to order at the counter and they would bring the food to our table. There were some open tables, so we did not have to wait to be seated. We reviewed the items on the chalkboard menu above the ordering counter. I don't eat seafood, but luckily they offered a BBQ Bacon Burger with fries. My wife ordered seafood chowder. We also ordered a side of onion rings and bought a brownie for later. I found the burger and fries to be very filling and tasty. My wife enjoyed her chowder. We both liked the onion rings, which were NOT greasy at all. The brownie was soft, chocolatey, and VERY good, just the way we like it. The inside of the restaurant is definitely not what you would call a high-end environment. But, it was clean, quiet, functional, bright, and, most importantly, had clean tables and chairs on which to sit. The staff were all very friendly and answered all our questions. There was a man, perhaps he was the manager?, who walked, dressed, and spoke like he would be more at home in Boston instead of Seward. This is NOT a complaint about him, just an observation. We spoke with him and he answered all our questions in a friendly manner. I don't know that we will ever visit Seward again, but if we do we would definitely return to Alaska Seafood Grill for lunch.

Prices lean toward the higher side for a casual establishment though that seems to be the norm in Seward. For comparison, I paid about the same for fish and chips at another nice restaurant nearby the night before. A heads-up: the fish here is fried with panko breading, so if you're (like me) expecting New Zealand-style or classic English beer-battered this might not hit the mark. The fries were excellent tho and the seafood chowder was the real star--rich, flavorful, and loaded with salmon chunks. Would I order the fish and chips again? Probably not. But I'd definitely come back just for seafood chowder!!
