I had the maple bacon cheeseburger and a shake from the specials board (I think it was a summer breeze). The shake was thick and, I was told, made with love (it was...I could tell) and if I have had a better burger than that maple bacon cheeseburger, I don't remember when. Service is fast and friendly. What's not to love? read more

I went in for some take out after fishing on 7/18. Staff was very nice they had seaing in a bus but i didn't stay to eat. The place is a small building open front with neat signs and stuff inside for standing room only. The kitchen looked nice and clean. I got the bacon cheeseburger and regular cheese burger. They both came with fries and wow they were pretty good burgers and fries. The bacon cheeseburger came with allot of bacon was soo good. The fries were really crunchy and well seasoned they were delicious! read more

Awesome burgers. Very full and worth the price. The French fries were also amazing. We wish we would've tried a shake. Great service. read more

The food is good, but the wait time is a real drawback. Despite having only 2-3 orders ahead of mine, it still took 30 minutes to get my food. On a positive note, the waiting area is thoughtfully stocked with children's books, which helps keep little one entertained. read more

The burgers were good, the fries were really good, and the chocolate milkshake was unbelievable. So chocolately and flavorful. It was the best milkshake I've ever had. I wish we would've gone here sooner so I could've tried other flavors while we were in town! read more

So worth the wait on this beautiful day in Seward. Fries were fantastic as was the burger and onion rings.

The burgers were very good , didn't like French fries had too much flour , wished they have substitute side dishes such as: Cole slaw or veggies read more

Delicious food, cute atmosphere and friendly staff. Checks all the boxes for a casual dinner!

Okay so the burger was decent not as bad but it was ok personal rating 6.5 out of 10 It was real awesome to sit on in a bus where u can eat your food I never thought I would see something like that in my my whole like my family also loved it read more

Great food, exactly what I was craving. The burgers were cooked to a perfect outer caramelization and inner temp. Fries were cooked at the right temperature and pulled exactly in time to make them the perfect crunch. The chili was a bit heavy on the chili powder or other seasoning. But it's a nit. My only regret is I didn't get a chance to sample the shakes. Cool bus to dine in, a picnic table or take it to go. read more

Burger was definitely an above average burger, the fries that came with it were very good. I timed the wait it took to get the burger though and it was about 35 minutes. I'm not sure if we stopped by at a busy time but it didn't look too busy. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and say it usually doesn't take that long to get a burger out. Other than the wait time it was a pretty good burger, if you want a bit more meat and juice in the burger I would get a wild meat patty. read more

Best burger I've had since I've been here the last 2 summers! The location is an order at the counter type spot, and you can eat outside or inside the converted school bus. It was comfortable and plenty roomy although this place does get busy, so I'd recommend planning ahead if you have your mind set on sitting inside the school bus. The burgers are generously sized, and they don't skimp out on the toppings. I had the jalapeno burger and it was one of the spicier jalapeno burgers I've had, and I've had my fare share. Definitely recommend a milkshake, especially if you order the jalap burger! read more

This spot had lots of fried things (chicken, fries, onion rings) and burgers and not a ton of vegetables. We really enjoyed eating in the bus which had cute animal footprints and local animal info on the walls and ceilings. We ordered from the counter and they called our number to pick up so limited encounters with staff. read more

Red's Burgers - Dining in a bus! - Burgers Near Me - Seward, Alaska

We really wanted to love this place. The bus is so awesome and quaint, the customer service was so good, all the reviews were spectacular and I loved the menu choices too! Unfortunately the quality just missed the mark. I ordered the Red's burger and was excited at the idea of eating warm ham and cheese with my burger. But the burger patty itself was just weird. It was thick and super dense and just had this texture like it wasn't a homemade patty. I mean maybe it is homemade it just didn't taste or feel that way. Plus, I got none of the ham flavor. My wife had the garlic burger expecting the burger to have like a garlic aioli spread or something. Nope, she literally had a whole entire layer of raw minced garlic slathered on her entire bottom bun. No kisses from her that night lol yikes. The chili cheese fries were good but beans in my chili is an instant . Beans in chili should be served in a bowl with a spoon not on my fries. I know it's a picky preference, just thought I would mention it. Maybe you can go see for yourselves. Maybe I'm wrong. I still think there were some really nice people working there and loved eating our lunch on a bus. read more

Red's Burgers - Burger - Burgers Near Me - Seward, Alaska

Not sure why the reviews here are so good. Nothing was made fresh, everything was frozen food service ingredients. All the burgers were really overcooked, the fries were those weird coated ones and not fresh. The chicken fingers were just like the Tyson frozen ones you get at Costco. Fun atmosphere, and friendly staff, but not worth the almost 20 bucks for a burger and fries. read more

So much fun and kid friendly. Yummy food, vegetarian options and delicious shakes. Thanks for a great meal Red's!

Note: CASH ONLY My photo of the burger here being featured made me realize that I never got around to reviewing this establishment, better late than never. As apart of a road trip thru Alaska, stopping in Seward was top of the list. After a long drive, we stopped at Red's on a whim and so glad that we did. My son talks about this place to this day! It was a chilly August day and we got a total kick out of being able to eat on an old school bus, which I'm noticing is gaining popularity recently. You place your order outside, grab a seat in the bus and wait for your number to be called. There are also card games to keep you busy while you wait or to keep your kids entertained , which wasn't long by the way. The burgers we very good, I like my burgers loaded with sauce and toppings, but my counterpart tends to like just plain burgers and both of us were very pleased with everything. The fries were SO good as well, curly fries meet regular fries, I can dig it. If I ever was back in the area, we would absolutely stop in ! read more

This is the best meal I had in Seward. The burger price is higher than what I'm used to but it was delicious. I got Red's #1 with maple bacon, grilled ham, onions, mushrooms, jalapenos, cheddar and swiss; contains all the ingredients I like. There was a bit of a wait but overall, I think it is worth it as I didn't have great experiences at other restaurants in Seward. I ordered a oreo shake and it was wonderful on a sunny day! read more

Bring cash. If you're visiting Seward, you owe it to yourself to save a little room in your belly to try a burger from Red's. If you're feeling nostalgic for childhood, you can eat on the school bus with refashioned tables. I'll warn you, the lines are long and the output is slow. Took awhile before we got our burgers. Also, it's a fair bit expensive in terms of burgers go... but think experience! Where else can you enjoy an amazing burger, near the water, in the fresh, open-air of Alaska? I'm not sure if my star rating really works. There isn't much nearby and going out of my way was basically a day trip. ;-) HOW TO READ MY REVIEWS: 1 Star - Does not approach edible. Enter at your own risk. 2 Stars - If I'm in the area, I'd pick something else. 3 Stars - I would stop by if I happen to be in the area. 4 Stars - I would pick this place out of other places nearby. 5 Stars - I would go out of my way to dine here. read more

Red's Burgers - Burgers Near Me - Seward, Alaska

Alaska hospitality cannot be beat! The burgers were all delicious, and the fries on the side were incredible. But the factor that put Red's over the top was their service! My party had ordered three burgers in the beginning, but wanted to make a change in the order to switch out one of the burgers for a buffalo patty. When we received our food, the staff immediately notified us that the burger was made with the original patty and they would make another with the buffalo patty. Not only did they just give us the additional burger, but they also offered three mystery shakes as well (which were so fun, highly recommend). An amazing dining experience in the lovely Seward Alaska! read more

The Burgers were the best I have had in Alaska, bar none! Four of us stopped at the old school bus that has been converted onto tables and benches. The cheese burger I ate was everything you want in a burger. The wife had a jalapeño burger also very good, a double meat burger was eaten by one of us and one ate a BLT, great bacon and very well prepared! The fries were cooked just right fluffy on the inside and crispy on the outside. We also had onion rings, they were just "so so" frozen and they fried! No one makes in house onion rings anymore. I did eat them though! If I come back this will be a place to eat again! read more

We stopped here after a boat tour of Kenai and it was nothing short of excellent. Service was fast, the school bus seating was SO cute, and we loved getting to look through the free books!! They had two veggie burger options (black bean burger & an impossible burger) which is more than I expected, and you can sub those on any of the burgers on the menu. I loved the mushroom swiss burger with an impossible patty, and my friends got a maple bacon burger and the chicken sandwich which were delicious and the perfect meal after a long day on the water. The (double battered!!) fries rocked and I'd definitely recommend to top it off with a strawberry smoothie :) Huge shoutout to Red's Burgers, the best part of our Alaska trip second only to the views here. read more

The lady who took our order was spectacular. So friendly and super kind to fit one more burger in when my Husband arrived. The food took a while but they were super busy. It was well worth the wait! This place has such an amazing vibe; just off the main drag in Seward. Friendly staff and a well organized operation. A fun and unique experience , with a school bus for indoor seating. Grab a book while you wait!! Perfect ending to a long day in Resurrection Bay. Buffalo, Elk, and Venison available as well. I had the Red's #1 with elk. Very delicious and well balanced flavors. The generous serving is fries was fantastic as well. I highly recommend this as part of your visit to Seward. read more

Red's Burgers - Our try full of delicious burgers. - Burgers Near Me - Seward, Alaska

Red's Burgers is a must-visit in Seward. For a town with such limited vegetarian food options, this place exceeded expectations and we would definitely visit again. Loss of 1 star though for messing our order up (giving us a different group's order) and telling us to throw it away rather than understanding the situation and correcting efficiently. They have a long wait and limited hours so prioritize coming by. Veggie burgers were delicious - they also let you swap the patty out in their specialty burgers - and the shakes were super thick and creamy. Fries were so crispy and portion was very generous. Their school bus dining setting is also fun and unique. If I ever find myself back in Seward, I'll definitely stop by again. read more

Yum! What a great find! Greated by a friendly efficient counter host!! Reds burgers and "vegan" burger was delicious! Love me some sweet potato fries - these did not disappoint! Review is for vegans. It is not easy finding a place to eat in Seward as a vegan. We tried to go to quite a few places that ended up being closed, and decided to try Reds. It is evident they are not used to vegans trying to eat here, but they were very kind and did try. They gave me a list of ingredients in the veggie burger which I appreciated. Buns are potato buns and not vegan. I asked for the veggie burger without a bun, vegan. It came out with cheese and battered onion rings and I had to go back. They were very apologetic and made me another. The burger was okay (I think it was a Morningstar frozen burger), but I did really love the sweet potato fries! The price for my husband and I's food was $46 (two veggie burgers & 2 fries) which we were kind of stunned by-there are so many up charges they don't advertise but were on our receipt. For example, getting no bum is a $1 charge, sweet potato fries are $3 more, and the veggie burger was extra. We thought it was pretty insane, but at least they are very nice and had the option! read more

Great burgers! An abundance of fries! And who doesn't love eating in an old school bus. They even have cards to play Uno while you wait for your food. Only drawback is there isn't a lot of seating. We were here after hiking Exit Glacier and it was raining. Thankfully we got two tables for the six of us in the bus. Otherwise might have been a little damp eating outside. Good food and a great spot in Seward. Will definitely go back if we are ever back in town. read more

delicious burgers, delicious fries and wonderful wonderful people behind the cashier stand and behind the grill.

Customer service was 5 stars and the location is definitely fun. Their "indoor" seating is an old school bus and you place your order from another bus next door, which makes for a fun and interesting dining experience. We ordered the bacon cheeseburger with cheesy fries and the cod basket. The burger was good, but the cod was hard and not at all fresh. I would definitely stick to a burger when eating here. The food took a while, it they were busy so that was expected. When they did call our number our fries were cold and the cheese basically hardened onto the fries as though they had been sorting. Again, the employees were so kind and helpful, I hate to only give 3 stars, but the food was subpar. Definitely stick to the name and just get a burger if you end up here. read more

This place is eclectic. The seating is located inside an old school bus that has been converted to a dining room. The food was good, my burger was cooked perfectly and the flavors were awesome. Not sure what the hype is about. This place is incredibly disappointing. We waited 30 mins or so for food because we were in the next "batch" to be grilled, and all our burgers and fries were cold. For $80, not worth it. I wouldn't eat here again. read more
