Excellent burgers, excellent service, good price, but poor atmosphere. You forget about the latter once you get your food. They have a burger menu. Meaning, leave your idea of what a burger "should" consist of at the door. Order by number the burger that sounds the most interesting and pull the trigger. You won't be disappointed. I had the #7 Marko's Special - not something I'd ever order a la carte - and was quite impressed. Tater tots are good (nothing spiritual, but you could definitely put a pound of them away before you realize what you've done). For five stars I'd like to see an improved atmosphere (needs to be more cozy; feels like a back corner of a Walmart store). The food and pricing are already there, in my opinion. Now that Megan M. mentions it--it DOES seem very similar to Jake's. And I mean that in a good way, because I love it when they put the jalapeno chips on the cheese burger. I also like thin patties that taste like the grill they were grilled on. There were a few differences, however, the burger seemed bigger and tasted better. Not that Jake's isn't a respectable burger, this was just better. The whole sandwich seemed really stacked with fresh and tasty toppings. The spicy fries were not as spicy as I wanted them to be. They were the battered styled fries. I liked them but I love the heat. Service was fantastic and I love that they support Woodrow Wilson High School. Last night I was bored with the places I can walk to downtown and wanted to take a ride on the bike to enjoy the nice weather we've had this week so I headed towards east Dallas around White Rock Lake. While enjoying the scenery and a not so healthy Parliament I decided a burger sounded good. I opened the Yelp app on my trusty blackberry (thank you yelp for v2 btw. It is so much better!) and searched for nearby places to find a burger. Flaming Burger came to the top of the suggestions and the reviews looked good. Off we go. This place is not easy to find in the huge shopping center across from the Home Depot off Garland Road but after a few laps I ended up finding it and parked. It was around 7:30 when I walked in and I was the only patron. I went up to the counter, quickly browsed the menu and settled on the Marko Special "Double meat, monterrey jack, spicy mustard, ketchup, mayo, bacon, lettuce, tomato, pickle, jalapeño. VERY TASTY" so the menu said. $9 for the combo with fries and a drink, not bad. As I was waiting for my meal a few others customers came in and picked up to go orders and sat down. A few minutes later my burger arrived and it looked spectacular. I munched on the fries as the burger cooled down a bit and they were better than average. The burger ended up being fantastic with the stars being the poppy seed bun and mustard. Oh the mustard! It reminds me of the jalapeño mustard that Tios Tortas off Lemmon used to have. I discovered this place a couple months ago and now I go at least once a week... if not more. This is a hard to find burger joint with no visible signage off Garland Road. It´s tucked away behind Comerica in front of a Home Depot. Very hole-in-the-wall with excess supplies (gigantic cans of sauces, paper products, cases of potatoes) sitting in the lobby. There is a sign on its door that says ¨Texas-size¨... they ain´t kidding... those burgers are HUGE!!! Sometimes I can´t even finish my burger... seriously. Extremely generous portion of fries come with the combo meal. Burger combos are about $10-11 and definitely WAY better than fast food or other burger joints nearby. I also like Dugg Burger, but their burgers are never that hot. I recommend the Marko Burger, Chili Burger and Mushroom Swiss Burger... honestly, everything is good on a toasted poppy seed bun. read more

Crummy atmosphere OK overpriced burgers on great buns.

This hole in the wall is a yummy alternative to more expensive Dallas burger offerings. As the name suggests, many of their offerings suggest jalapeños, and their jalapeño bottle caps (fried jalapeños, and they were the best we've had!) are a popular appetizer. I actually elected to go without jalapeños on my sandwich, but add bacon, and it was quite enjoyable. We'll be back. Tip: They're located at the end of the strip center, behind the Comerica Bank. This place has become a regular on our rotation and never disappoints. To echo the other reviews, the poppy seed bun makes their good burger great. I ordered the Marco's Special. I'm glad it includes 2 patties because the fixings would have overpowered a single patty. It's a tall burger. Since I can't dislocate my jaw like a snake, I had to smash it down just to take a bite. But it's worth it -- fresh, hot and tasty. I was disappointed with the onion rings, however. They're the standard, frozen, fast food rings. I should have gone with the fries. read more

We were in the area and looking for a place to eat. I noticed the Flaming Burger had an almost 5 star rating. I was quite impressed that a burger joint could have such a high rating. We went there and now I agree. This place has real honest food. By that I mean they don't cut corners to save a penny here and a penny there. The meat patties are huge and well cooked and delicious. French fries are excellent. The ambiance is not the greatest, but this place nonetheless could very well branch out and have locations all over the city as well as franchises all over the country. It's that good! I told the owner he needs to open more spots around the city because this place has really great food. They have a great menu and the poppy seed buns are distinctive. Sorry Flaming Burger. I know you have gotten a lot of really great reviews. My review is simply for the burger and nothing else. The burger for me was just a little bit bland. Changed my mind. They have the best grilled chicken sandwiches around, bar none. Get the one with bacon; you will not be disappointed. I still do not like the tiny dry cups--those fries are too good to be stuffed into a Dixie--but this place has slowly become a local staple. I was so happy to see this place come in down the street from me. The Marco Special is absolutely the burger for me. The look of the place may leave you wanting, until you try the burger (though they do have two t.v.s with relevant sports on display). I've tried most menu items and they've all been good. The owner is great and the staff has always been wonderful. My only gripe is that they've made their fry and tot portions smaller while charging the same price.
