It's normal to feel that once you've been to one hibachi restaurant that you've been to them all but Flame really changed my mind about that, we were a group of 6 who came here on a Friday night with a reservation and we got seated right away. Reservations are recommended and they are strict with the time, if you don't check in after 10 mins with your entire party you lose your space, also the whole hibachi experience from sitting down to the bill is an hour and a half and it literally took that amount of time but didn't feel rushed. After we were done we weren't rushed out at all and maybe it's because it was later but that's always good to not be rushed out. The ambiance is nice, this is a fairly new place and it shows, the design is nice and we really liked the look of the place. They have all kinds of cocktails, beers and sakes on their menu, I went with the hot sake which I really recommend, the menu has single meats or combinations of beef, chicken and seafood, each comes with salad, soup, 2 dumplings, veggies, rice and noodles and your meat. All the food was nice I ordered filet mignon and chicken, it was well seasoned and well prepared in front of us, the chef was funny, organized and friendly, he did everything from singing songs to acrobatic stuff with some of the food, all the staff was attentive and friendly, this is how a hibachi restaurant or any restaurant in general should be run, I loved the experience and would highly recommended it! read more

I finally ate here for the first time and it was not what I expected. The chef we had (Yadi) cooked the food poorly. I was happy to see this restaurant in the neighborhood and my husband and I gave it a try. The ambiance inside was wonderful and the chef was entertaining , engaging, and the food was wonderful. We enjoyed the steak/shrimp and lobster/ shrimp combos which had really good flavors. The fried rice and vegetables were wonderful as well. You leave absolutely satisfied. I didn't particularly care for the salad, I was more used to the ginger dressing, this dressing was a bit watery. Overall, great place for a date night or friendly gathering . I been to this place twice so far. Once when they had a soft opening and I came with a friend and my daughter who loves the entertainment. (She's 3) We had to wait a little bit because we didn't have reservations, but they were able to accommodate us which was cool. Second time I made sure to make a reservation since it was a party of 8. I came with my family to celebrate my aunts birthday. The chef was funny and we had great customer service. Flame is mediocre hibachi. All of the pomp and circumstance about hibachi, with average food. Why the four stars then? The service. The bartender was really nice. Didn't charge us for the second club soda, which I guess he's suppose to when I asked if it was free refills (what...they make a lot of money up charging for drinks). Since we did not have a reservation we waited at the bar for 20 minutes where we ordered happy hour shots and the duck breast bao. The bao was not pillowy soft. The duck was not particularly flavorful. At the table the server was amazing. They even give you sake shots (from a squeeze bottle). My steak was over cooked. The fried rice was flavorful, but I can't pay $30 for fried rice--I mean I can, but not at Flame. Regular hibachi experience with incredible staff. read more

My husband and I were dropping off at FedEx next door and my eyes caught the flames shooting up from the chef's flaming grill and my olfactory was immediately hit (thru an N95 mask mind you) with the juicy delicious smells of meat being sizzled!! I was even more pleased to see that there were people DINING INSIDE!! HOORRAAAYYYY!! Overjoyed I literally ran to into the restaurant and requested a menu. Taking my paper treasure back to our car we decided since it was late we would "test" their takeout food since if you can make take out taste amazing that would seal the deal on dining in in the future. The food didn't disappoint! I had the Szechuan beef and my hubby had the Sesame chicken both were delicious and flavorful! I even had to dig into his food a little bit! We had the appetizer wings wasn't too impressed with those as they were not "crispy" wings and were soggy by the time we got home so I just popped them in the oven to crisp them up and they were ok. The food was good ( is there such a thing as outstanding hibachi?!) I ordered the shrimp and they were jumbo and juicy! The rice was shelly and the vegetables were crispy tender not limp and soggy. The chef made sure to reiterate everyone's order to perfection and was mindful and accommodating of my lobster allergy, and cooked the lobster last. I ordered the shrimp hibachi for myself with a Jack and coke and the children's chicken hibachi for my daughter. The dinner cost roughly $60 with the tip included. This was my daughter's first experience with a hibachi and it was great for her! She chatted about her Friday night dinner to all she conversed with. This is such a late review, but I want to show my wonderful experience at Flame! My boyfriend and I had reservations for 7pm on Valentine's Day. Unfortunately, there was a massive delay on the 1 train and I missed my reservation. Luckily, my boyfriend was there waiting and he informed the hostess of my train issue. They were understanding and were able to accommodate us for a later hibachi time. Meanwhile, we had drinks at the bar and the bartender was friendly and treating us really well! When we got seated, our cook was pleasant, funny, and made our experience enjoyable! The prices are reasonable and the drinks are good.
