The yakisoba is a weird tasting entrée that is overpriced and overcooked. Save your money even an expensive hotdog is better.

First, its located off Columbus Ave steps from the corner of a quaint and quiet residential W 82nd St. There are 4 large steps out front, so be mindful if you or a member of your party has mobility issues. The steps feel a bit taller than traditional height but these buildings are over 100 years old so just be mindful when walking. They are navigatable with a cane and someone to assist, as we did for a member of our party. The interior of this location is beautiful. There is a bar area at the front and large hibachi seating just beyond to accommodate large groups. The staff are friendly, professional and personable, with our chef providing his spin on the usual hibachi chef performances. Aside from the standard onion volcano, sake spray, food toss and egg catch trick, our chef did a few gags I'd never seen performed at any hibachi place we've visited. The food was good and the service was great. The lobster tail and scallops I ordered were delicious. The surprise ringing of the gong and ice cream with sparklers was a nice surprise for the birthday girl! This is our 2nd visit to this location and we will be back

The chefs were so funny and entertaining - they seem to love their job which made it so enjoyable! They also had a fun birthday celebration for one of the people in our party, complete with a gong, sparklers, and ice cream. We only got hibachi, which came with vegetables, protein, and an appetizer. I was disappointed that it did not come with noodles or fried rice like some other spots include, you needed to pay $6 extra which was steep for the amount of rice you got. The noodle portion, however, was very generous. The appetizers were also quite small, with options for salad, soup, tofu, and/or two potstickers. Food overall was well seasoned. I would return if in the area.

The food options are extensive. I've never gotten ill from eating in this place. The seafood is the star of the show! The seasoning is top notch! Instead of going to a seafood place to spend hundreds you can spend the entry and get all the seafood you want unless you want lobster lol it's worth the price The service is friendly and attentive, I don't have to chase after a waiter to refill my drink or remove my plates. They always come around to check on you. I recommend you bring cash if you want to tip, the bill is paid in the front before entering. They should consider cleaning the bathroom ever so often during service hours, because it can get pretty gross and I avoid it all cost. The reason for the 3 stars is because of the area this place is located in and the people that come here. I try to avoid coming here too late where it's more prone to getting more people. There has never been an issue or conflict before (surprisingly) until my last visit where females started arguing. It was brief and did not escalate but still a ghetto mess and I was not surprised. The difference is that this time I was seated in the middle where the area is more crowded towards the entrance. Usually I get seated towards the hibachi station and there has never been an issue there, and it isn't as crowded. I'll stick to that side next time. Also, I'm a sushi lover but I'm not a fan of their sushi. I don't like cold rice or cold sushi.. it makes sense why they have it plated on all cooler setting but it doesn't taste too good to me. There is a movie theater downstairs, so you can eat and go to the movies if you're in the mood

Teppanyaki One - Chicken special over rice. Rice was a bit hard and the chicken was a bit gummy but the flavor was alright. OK for the price

The place itself is well-maintained and clean, with plenty of seating available if you choose to dine in. It has a casual, modern setup that feels comfortable, perfect for a quick lunch or lazy low-key dinner. Service was very fast and friendly, and my order came out quickly without feeling rushed or sloppy. Food-wise, the taste is solid and satisfying. The chicken was glazed nicely with teriyaki sauce, flavorful, and paired well with the rice. The overall dish tastes exactly like what you'd expect from your typical mall food court-style teriyaki, comforting, familiar, and dependable. The rice was cooked well, and the veggies added a nice texture, though I do wish they included a bit more vegetables to better balance the three components (protein, rice, and veggies). One nice perk is their promotion stamp card which is order six times and you get one free, which is a nice incentive if you're a regular or work nearby. Overall, Teppanyaki One delivers good flavor, fast service, and excellent value. It's not trying to be fancy, but it does what it's supposed to do well. With slightly more veggies, it would be even better, but as is, it's a dependable spot I'd happily return to.

Side note: There's two chains named this and Teriyaki One with both having virtually the exact same…read morewebsite and the exact same menu down to the specialty rolls and I would bet a large amount of $ they are the same place. Anyway, this is one of the many locations of this teriyaki chain with the closest one being the very similarly named Teriyaki One in Downtown Brooklyn (see above) next to 7th Street on Jay which is $1.30 cheaper ($9.69 compared to $8.39.) I believe they replaced a Subway but I might be mistaken and the food is similar to Sarku, the teriyaki chain found in many malls. They have a special which is for now but who knows how long that's going to last where if you get the chicken at full price for $9.39, you can get another one for half off which is a pretty good deal especially for the neighborhood. They have a special with chicken with cabbage and rice for $9.69 which I got though I don't know the difference between the regular and the special. It was decent. The sauce wasn't cloyingly sweet which makes it a bit better than Sarku. The chicken itself wasn't that tasty being a bit gummy and the rice was a bit hard in places while the cabbage lacked flavor. It's in short a bit better than your average fast food but not by much. I might stop to get two of these for cheap but for full price, there's better options (not to mention the half off stuff at Ten Ichi past 8:00.)
