My first visit here was for an event, we got dumplings, wings, sushi and sashimi for appetizers and got the fried rice with vegetables, steak, chicken and shrimp. All the food we had was delicious! Even the drinks were very well made and strong! Everyone that worked there, the servers, bartenders, chefs, greeters were all very welcoming, accommodating and quick! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Place had plenty of seating and was clean![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

The chef created beautiful art with his meals.

We had an amazing night at Benihana. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Everything was perfect, from the decor to the layout.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Five stars are deserved for the food. The food arrived hot and fresh, ready to be devoured. You don't find places like this very often. All staff members provide great customer service. The staff at Benihana New York West could be an example to others. Throughout the night, management kept an eye on everyone to make sure they were having fun. If you have never been, I highly recommend it. And if you have come back for another great dining experience. Whether it's a date night, family gathering, celebration, or a foodie night out, the space is perfect.

My favorite birthday spot! Thank you Benihana for another special night in the books. Till next year. You never disappoint! Hibachi chicken is always a hit. The soup and salad are forever so flavorful. The sauces are perfection. This time I got teriyaki sauce which was great. Only wish the server disclosed it was $1 more when asking. My friend had a piece of chicken that was underdone. Obviously that's very dangerous. But it can be hard with hibachi style cooking for perfect temperature on everything. I am happy and for that I say thank you.

I always enjoy my dinners at Benihana. Yesterday was a grandson/grandma date so I took my 4 year old grandson because that's his favorite restaurant. I gave it 4 stars simply because the service was ƙ yesterday. Usually, it's a bit better. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Especially, when the table behind us are doing song alongs & things. That's the kinda vibe I like and am used to[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. Anyway, the food was really good. I told the person (which I've had b4 and he was always good but maybe he was just off today) for extra garlic butter on everything & it always does the trick. So good the food was really good. The waitress was slow & wasn't as attentive as they usually are. Actually, before leaving the couple next to us warned us to look at the bill properly because they had issues & she seemed really focused on tips. She actually made mention of it a couple of times as I overheard her convo with the other guests. I always tip so there's no worry there from me. Sorry, didn't take much pics besides the ones of us. I'll update this next time I go.

Seafood feast meets hibachi heat We pulled up to @benihana and went ALL OUT ‍ Started light with that classic onion soup & fresh salad ... then things got real REAL Lobster & shrimp gyoza wrapped in pumpkin skin = next level Colossal hibachi lobster tail dripping in butter & lemon Bounty of the Seas (shrimp, scallops, snapper, calamari... basically EVERYTHING) Lobster fried rice loaded with flavor Sweet treats? Say less Matcha, vanilla & chocolate Mango mochi And the drinks?? Mermaid's Brew (Don Julio, coconut, pineapple, lime... yeah, it's THAT good) Mango lemonade = refreshing perfection Shoutout to Amada for top-tier service & Saha for putting on a whole show at the grill 10/10 experience -- come hungry, leave obsessed

We had a 5:45PM reservation to celebrate a birthday for an eight year old.. and waited by the entrance/bar area for an entire hour. That completely defeats the purpose of making a reservation. If reservations are going to be treated like walk-ins, why have them? We also had a four year old who needs to wind down/be in bed around 8:30PM, which made the long wait even more frustrating. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The waiting area was very crowded and the kids were surrounded by adults having drinks and there was little communication from staff about the delay.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They kept telling us they were cleaning the table.. for an hour. After 45 minutes, one of us went across the street to get food for the little ones. Literally an hour later at 6:42pm, our table was ready but we decided to leave since the kids already ate and they had to wind down. Really disappointing experience trying to celebrate a birthday for someone who turned eight.

"I'm going back for that" Used to going to Benihana, but never have I got the seafood trio or the a5 Waygu. I'm hoping that the steak wasn't limited time because I'm going back for that. Was worried that the lobster/scallops would be overcooked. Boy was k wrong.

    Wagyu 6 course meal!

I visited Benihana for the first time in years and it was better than I remembered! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The entry way is calm and peaceful, but the restaurant comes to life upstairs.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]It was packed this Tuesday.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] My friends and I enjoyed the 6 course wagyu special and it was phenomenal. The mushroom soup was balanced and delish, the salad dressing was to die for, and each subsequent course from the veggies to the friend rice to the steak (the Australian cut is the best!) were all phenomenal. Our chef Romeo crushed it and was so fun and talented. Our server Kendal was amazing!! Such good energy and great recommendations and down to help anytime. We all adored him. All in all, great value and great experience! We'll be back :)

I go to Benihana's at least once a year every year around my birthday because I receive a birthday coupon. As you know, this is not truly authentic Japanese Teppanyaki, but that's not really the point. [[HIGHLIGHT]]You go for the hokey silly vibes and the food is actually quite decent.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I'm a little bougie and I always get steak and lobster and it's always been great. This isn't your fancy steakhouse, but the meat is of decent quality and who doesn't like a dinner with a show? ALWAYS order the chicken fried rice on the hibachi grill because that really is one of the best things they have. For drinks I always get a Sapporo draft or a bottle of the Sugeui (Drunken Whale) sake. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Honestly, the whole meal is just fun from start to finish.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]It can get really rowdy in there especially on Thursday nights filled with birthday groups who do sake bombs and wear chef hats.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Definitely go with friends who love a little silly and preferably know how to use chopsticks![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] ;)

This was my first experience at a Benihana. I've only ever been to hibachi once prior to this so this is very new for me. It's an interesting set up to have the seating and it makes sense to maximize the area especially if you have a smaller group. This though means that you have to be cautious of your conversations of the people nearby as well as any dietary restrictions that could influence your food. Additionally, I guess the nature of this type of place brings a lot of kids, and I felt that they were running around a lot especially around the hot grill, which poses a danger. Our chef was great and funny. Our server was great as well. Food was okay, but I didn't expect a lot from a hibachi. We left satisfied with the food and service.

I don't even want to give a 1 star review but the system won't let me give any less. My husband was working in NYC when he asked me to order something from this restaurant. I placed an online order for steak and fried rice for TWO which came to $25. When he walked in they gave him the first picture. He went back and said this is suppose to be steak and fried rice for 2. Then after 34 mins they give the second container. You tell me if I am wrong for not even wanting to put a 1 star review for this establishment.

Amazing experience at Benihana, especially since I've haven't been back in years. Excellent service and delicious food. [[HIGHLIGHT]]You usually sit with other guests while dining since it was only 2 of us, but we had the space to ourselves which was nice and intimate.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] My friend and I enjoyed the cool tricks from Chef Richard, my favorites were the knife juggling and the flaming onion ring volcano. For cocktails, I had the lychee blossom martini and my friend had the haiku colada. Both drinks were so refreshing. We had the Wagyu of the World menu that comes with onion soup, salad, hibachi shrimp appetizer, hibachi vegetables, A5 Japanese wagyu tokyo broil served with wagyu fried rice, Japanese hot tea, and ice cream or sherbet. My friend and I were very satisfied. Overall unique experience, definitely coming back and will not be waiting too long on my next visit.

After having heard about this hibachi chain for quite some time and only had hibachi once in my life as a student at my local college town, I finally got to cross this spot off of my list. I have to say that I'm pleasantly surprised how great the experience was, which was definitely assisted by our very attentive waitress and awesome hibachi chef. Our waitress (can't remember her name, grrrr) really help guide us through the menu, especially since it was our first time for all of us at a Benihana. She even had a display case of all of the meats to show us for their special Wagyu of the World menu. There were options where we were also allowed to substitute. She walked through all of that patiently. Props to her. Our hibachi chef, Saha, made our group's experience great. Super interactive and made a lot of dad jokes to keep the group engaged. Most importantly, our food tasted great. I ordered from their Wagyu of the World, which is a 6 course meal that starts out with an Onion Soup and Benihana Salad. The hibachi chef makes the shrimp appetizer, hibachi vegetables & mushroom, and the steak of your choice. I chose the A5 Japanese Tokyo Broil ($61) medium-rare. Surprisingly the other options were more expensive. We also got a side order of Wagyu Steak Fried Rice ($23) to share with the group, which was super delicious. The fried rice is a signature dish at hibachi and is a must order. Lastly, this also came with dessert, which was a choice of three different flavored ice cream, sherbet, or three different flavors of mochi ice cream. I had to go with the green tea ice cream (basic me). Needless to say, I was stuffed at this point. Yes, I paid around $80 including tax and tip for this experience. This may sound a lot, but I think it's one of those things you do once in a blue moon, like going to Disneyworld. It's expensive, but it's fun to do with a group of friends or with your kids. It also helps tremendously if you have an awesome waitress and chef, which makes the experience all that much better.

    Does their food have MSG?

i believe they use soy sauce which might have it or other ingredients but i would call the restaurant to double check .

What is a happy lunch hour ,Do they still have it?

Yes they still have. Smaller version, less expensive version of dinner.

Is this the location of the first Benihana?

I first visited Benihana in upstate New York near the Hilton Ryetown,it was a Japanese farmhouse from the 19th century an amazing experience I hope they can recapture what they once were.

Does this location offer Yum Yum Sauce?

    Yes!

    Is there outdoor dining?

    Yes.

Is it wheelchair accessible, does it have an elevator?

    Yes they do

How much does it cost for 2?

It depends on what you order. Dinners start at around 23. I don't disagree with the other answer,…

Do they still do happy hour?

Yes they do. They also have a happy hour lunch.

    Is this place still open?

    Yes it is ...

Do they use MSG in their foods?

MSG is a migraine trigger for me - and the last 3 times I went to Beni - I ended up with a migraine .
