This restaurant was a cute and fun time to the community of Riverdale…read more I went here with my father and sister for a family dinner on a Sunday night. The place is smaller, but because of the great weather, we were able to sit outside. Service was okay. It took a while to get our order in and to get water to the table. Then, our appetizer came out and a few mins later, our mains came out, so it felt back to back. Nonetheless, the food was good. In terms of pricing, I thought it was on the higher media price of food in the area, but thought it was delicious nonetheless. I had ordered sushi rice cakes and also got a chicken teriyaki. Other dishes that we had gotten included a garlic shrimp and one of the Dominican rolls, the De Lo Mio Rolls. We all enjoyed our food. Only note that I'll give is that we got the main combination courses for the garlic shrimp and the chicken teriyaki. My dad wanted to sub out the rice for plantains, but ended up not getting the miso soup and we were charged for a whole side of plantains. Wish we could've been told that it wasn't a 1:1 substitution.

Ps: they are related to the mamasushi brand, which i found out later when one of the owners showed up on a fancy Mercedes Benz. The food was not even decent. We ordered 4 sushi rolls. 2 made "dominican" and 2 normal. The taste was on point but the rice was already getting hard when brought to the table. We also ordered 2 ramen but felt it was microwave ramen and it came cold. Now rewind. When we arrived, there was 1 table inside and 1 outside available. There was a couple ahead of us so I asked if we could sit outside as I was with the fam. The young girl just nodded and left. I looked to see if she was coming back to wipe the table clean but no.. I had to go get her. Then we sat and time passed and nobody came, so I got up and another server came to take our order and apologized for the delay. After placing the order, guess what happened to the food. It took so long that when it came it came cold and we didnt want to send it back. Another table sat next to us and the same experience happened and they asked to move inside as nobody was really taking care of anyone outside. Mind you, one of the owners was there. I eat ramen constantly and this was subpar, I eat decent food but this was bodega sushi at best. I was hoping for a great experience but it just reiterated what we suspected, service was going to be sh1t and it showed. I can't support local and minority own when I feel im not treated with respect. They get 2, as the sushi taste was good but hard rice is not something I would come back for. You can do better. Ps: all these inta post are paid service, fyi

Growing up, our family used to alternate different Chinese takeout spots in the neighborhood - but…read morethe one that was most consistently on our radar was Mr. Q's. While the quality has gone through highs and lows over the years, they have recently been the most consistent spot in the neighborhood - and as such become the sole place I order Chinese from when in the Bronx. At face value, what sets Mr. Q's apart from other Chinese spots in the area is the fact that they offer a full sit-down restaurant in addition to their takeout. The dining room is a decent size and tastefully decorated. Parking can be tough as it's on a busy main road, but I have always eventually found a spot. While the quality of food has been up and down over the years, more recently I feel it's been consistently good. It's not overly greasy, and the ingredients tasted relatively fresh and high quality. The staff is also super friendly, and whenever I order delivery it arrives super fast. Overall, Mr. Q's has held up IMO as being one of the top Chinese food spots in the neighborhood. Whenever I'm in the Bronx craving Chinese, I will always choose here to go.

I followed a social media trend that suggested the best restaurants have a 3.5 rating, as sometimes…read morepeople rate the service and not the food. This trend did not hold true for this restaurant. The food was flavorless. The only thing that contained some flavor was the salad dressing on what they passed off as a salad. Now onto the ambiance/service. The chef prepared our food without the fanfare you would normally expect at a hibachi station. It was literally similar to sitting at a lunch counter watching a short order cook prepare our meal. The hostess who served our drinks and collected our payment appeared irritated the entire time. As others indicated the price was higher as they charge extra for hibachi rice and a service fee is included for a party of two. However, the poor flavorless food, boring hibachi show coupled with subpar service is the reason for the one star rating.

The Genral Tso chicken was amazing and the pork fried rice was good, but the pork part had no flavor (thank goodness for duck sauce). The cheese wontons were amazing! One of the best I ever had! I got lychee martini which wasn't really strong but had just the right amount of alcohol to be delicious . our chef was really pleasant , quick and the food was delicious and cooked perfectly ! We were greeted by our awesome sever, who was really sweet and also a female, just saying it fit the script in this moment! It was an all girls day! We decided to just do the other side of the restaurant, because we didn't want to go for the hibachi. Beautiful restaurant. Love the decor and the way the bar was out in the open you could see them making your drinks. We decided we wanted some sushi and a couple of sides. We enjoyed everything. It was so good and plentiful. My lobster roll was fresh and tasty, and the potstickers were really good, light and crispy but and had a good amount of meat. My cocktail was so refreshing not to mention I added some lychee soda to give it a bit more of a spritz vibe. So good! The fries were ok, we did enjoy that they were crispy but it lacked the truffle Parmesan flavor. Both girls enjoyed their rolls and were satisfied with the overall meal. I was really happy not to leave stuff because it still was pretty hot outside and with the heat and being full is not a comfortable feeling. I think with the hibachi side and the side we dined, this place would be perfect for social gatherings or celebrations. I will definitely make another visit. Thumb up for me! Happy Yelping!

We missed happy hour because it was over at 6 and we arrived at 6:30, she thought it was until 7pm, bummer for us. They also had no live dee jay like my last visit. We still decided to dine in anyway because she really had a taste for some seafood. I went ahead and ordered a mini shrimp boil along with some crab fries and a frozen drink that was not worth taking a picture. First off the crab fries did not have real crab meat and I was told it did, but once I ate around that, my fries were really crispy and tasty. Second my shrimp was not deveined because I ordered them with the head attached and my friend who didn't have the head attached, her shrimp was. Had I known this I to would have just ordered no head attached. It is a way to devein a shrimp with the head still attached to it, but I digress. After spending time trying to devein it myself, the shrimp was just ok. My corn was the best part of the boil, unfortunately it only came with one piece. My drink was just down right watery. It was not blended well and had no taste of alcohol. My server, who was very nice and friendly, gave me a free shot with it because the drink was just a hot mess. My overall experience to be honest. I don't care for this place and I really don't like seafood franchises. They seem to have some locations better than others but when it comes to the seafood itself, they really miss the mark. I'm glad that everything I received was a good price and really affordable, but I rather spend my money elsewhere. If you want to come because it is a big location to accommodate a large crowd, and your on a tight budget, well than sure I'd say try them but I would look for a better location, such as the one I went to in Yonkers, but this particular location, I would not recommend. So on that note Happy Yelping!
