Bland rice. Check. Over cooked Lobster Tail. Check. Well done Filet Mignon. Check. This is not how I remember Ohana. The Nor'easter restricted us to remain closer to home. So instead of going to our first choice in Pelham, we chose Ohana for convenience. We've had great experiences here in the past hibachi and sushi-wise, but this evenings visit was an entirely different story... ...'Hibachi Chef, please don't over cook my lobster.' As I sadly look at my plate, I received an over cooked lobster tail...What a waste! Hibachi Chef asks, 'How would you like your Filet Mignon?' 'Medium rare, please.' 'Medium well? 'No, medium rare, please.' As he's cooking and flipping and whatever else he's doing, I'm trying to get his attention without making too much of a fuss, as I know the temp has surpassed medium on my Filet. But then it dawns on me, he only knows one cooking temperature and that's well done. So what I receive on my plate is a well done, tough to chew Filet Mignon. Another waste. Geez!! I hate wasting food. Our young hibachi chef, poor thing, tried to entertain doing the flippity flips and singe flame your eyebrows off, but that's as entertaining as it got. It was a sad display. He even dropped one of his spatulas...no doubt, jokes ensued. Forget the food. Forget the odd brighter than bright, bright lights meant for a doctors office within the main dining area. My family being who we are, we made the best of an unfavorable birthday dinner and laughed and joked at the situation and had a great time despite the two and a half star food experience.

Came here for my friends birthday and the person making our food was so funny! He was interactive with us and made jokes. Food was good and the place was a relaxed state that you could speak to others in (music not too loud) not too classy either. Hope that when I come back it's the same way.

Our server was so fun!!! He had us singing and laughing. The food is really good. The portions are a bit smaller than the other hibachi spots in the neighborhood but overall, it was a great experience and I'd come back!

Everything about this place was great, the service, the drinks and the food was delicious I'll definitely come back

Horrible service! Waited over 20 minutes for our drinks. Please keep in mind we where the only customers there. We had to wait for the cook to come back from a break to get our food. No apologies for excessive time wait. Furthermore, the food was pretty good. I was unable to get the pictures of the rest of the food. Despite the horrible service the food is good. Next time I would order and do curb pick to avoid the wait.

Ohana is always a good time paired with good hibachi they also have a Japarican menu which I think is pretty cool. I have been here numerous times throughout the years and the staff is always kind. The cooks are pretty hilarious, and stay hip to modern youth lingo. The food portions are pretty large and you get a lot for your money. 15% Gratuity is automatically added onto your bill but if you choose to add extra you may do so. I always have the Hibachi chicken which includes soup, salad, shrimp appetizer, fried noodles, fried rice, a medley of fresh mixed vegetables such as, onions, zucchini, broccoli, red peppers & mushrooms. It is also accompanied by fried rice and of course a large portion of chicken. The meal ends with a choice of ice cream, all this for about $21.50, drink not included. I usually visit late afternoon during the summer , so that I can catch the great sunset along the water after dinner. Great location, very clean, flavorful food, wonderful staff, clean restrooms, it is City Island what is there not to love. Go check it out.

Always a great time, chefs are always funny! Food portion are on the small size but that's why the hibachi combo comes with soup, salad, veggies, noodles, fried rice, meat of choice and ice cream or sorbet. Alcohol beverages are great. Price is a bit higher then everybody else but worth it.

We ordered the grilled octopus and cuttlefish risotto to start the meal. The octopus was perfectly cooked, crunchy skin but tender on the inside, and the risotto was scrumptious. Then, we shared a grilled fish entree, which came with a potato and chard mix as a side. We wrapped up our meal with some coffee as we enjoyed the last few pieces of bread. Parking took a little patience, as both the front spots and lot across the street were full, but we secured street parking on a second pass. From the outside it feels intimate, almost modest. They start you with eggplant caponata, a welcoming touch. We shared the Four Cheese Arancini and a grilled calamari and shrimp special, both well executed. I ordered the Bucatini all'Amatriciana, the daily special and one of my favorites, and it delivered with depth and balance. My wife's Pappardelle del Bosco, finished with truffle oil, was rich and aromatic. Espresso and a house-made amaro to close sealed the experience. A strong first visit. Our server didn't greet us and instead immediately asked what we wanted to order...less than five minutes after being seated, before we had even looked at the menus or been asked if we wanted drinks. We told him we'd like to start with drinks, and although he reluctantly took the order, he returned a few minutes later empty-handed and again asked us to place our full order, without even bringing the cocktails to the table first. It felt rushed and disorganized right from the start. Throughout the evening, every interaction felt pressured, despite the restaurant not appearing particularly busy, which made what should have been a relaxed birthday dinner feel uncomfortable. When our first round of drinks was finished, he never once came back to ask if we wanted another round, which was surprising given the setting and price point. The most surprising part was learning that our server was the owner/chef's son. When we casually asked who Padre Pio was, he couldn't answer, which felt like a missed opportunity to share the story behind the restaurant. As for the meal, the total came to about $500 for cocktails, wine, four appetizers (grilled calamari, baked clams, eggplant rollatini, and insalata di campania), and entrées including ravioli, spaghetti Padre Pio, chicken scarpariello, and branzino, with sides of mushrooms and escarole and beans. While some dishes were decent, others fell short--particularly the spaghetti Padre Pio, which was overly soft and lacked texture. The ravioli also tasted very similar to JB & Sons from Yonkers. The clams were mushy and overly saturated in oil. I did enjoy the eggplant rollatini. The complimentary eggplant caponata was oddly sweet. The menu itself was oddly presented. I've never seen chicken scarpariello listed with add-ons and separate pricing depending on whether you want it on or off the bone or with sausage, it felt more like ordering a pizza with toppings than ordering from what's supposed to be an elevated Italian menu. It cheapened the overall experience rather than enhancing it. Service issues continued throughout the meal. When our entrées were brought out, no serving utensils or extra plates were provided. When he later asked if we wanted new plates, he simply dropped a stack on the side of the table rather than setting them properly, which felt inattentive and unprofessional. Additionally, the bus staff were overly aggressive when clearing the table. At one point, a busboy dropped dirty utensils directly onto my friend's lap and into her purse that was next to me. To top it off, instead of offering us a dessert menu, a piece of cheesecake was simply brought out alongside the check. After spending this amount of money, especially for a birthday celebration, this felt dismissive and frankly rude, as it removed the opportunity to choose or enjoy dessert as part of the experience. Moments later, the lights were turned on, making it very clear we were no longer welcome to sit and enjoy the end of the evening. Overall, for the price point and the occasion, we expected a much more welcoming and attentive dining experience. Unfortunately, the service and pacing overshadowed the meal.
