Flaherty's is another one the outstanding pubs and restaurants in Webster NY. They have all kinds of televisions to watch the games, a full bar, and plenty of great food. There is a large dining room in the back to eat in if you do not like all the noise in the bar area. That large room works well for large parties or even private parties. They do entertainment on the weekends in the bar area including karaoke from time to time. I am a big fan of just about everything on the menu. I enjoy the fish tacos, the Ruben sandwich, and the New Orleans jambalaya just to name a few. The place is spotlessly clean and the staff here is friendly and quick to take your order and get you fed. Wow... Came in with my boys for Father's Day for a late lunch. Sat in the bar area. Waited 20 minutes (not exaggerating) and had 3 servers walk past us several times each. No drinks, no food... NO SERVICE. 7 people people at the bar and 2 booths with people. Pathetic Flaherty's... PATHETIC. This is another reason we don't frequent Flaherty's anymore. Service is horrible. Unfortunately, Flaherty's has become a victim of its own success. What do I mean? They have an extremely large following that visits very regularly. The parking lot is always full. There are drinkers that stay until closing every Friday and Saturday. Because of these factors Flaherty's has been extremely slow to change - they obviously haven't felt the need to. Their menu hasn't been revamped in years and their quality is a result of overcrowding and a small kitchen. Service is slow; the hostesses are young and tend to be overwhelmed on the weekends. If you come for the dining, be prepared to wait. Come to think of it, if you come for the bar be prepared to wait for that, too. All of this is very disappointing because I used to love, absolutely love, Flaherty's. It used to be my second home because it's right around the corner. The layout is classic with dark woods and greens. I used to get my Irish up at the bar with a Jameson's and ale chaser, but no longer. When they first put the bar in, all those years ago, it was a true Irish pub with a little Celtic tuneage now and again but no longer. Now it's no different than any other neighborhood bottle-bar. Back in the day I could sit at the bar and converse with the tender for a spell while I sipped and relaxed. If you can get a drink from the tender there's nowhere to sit. There's no peace. There's no justice anymore. Don't get me wrong. I don't begrudge Tim and Terry their success, I really don't. I just want my old Flags back. Can't we start over Tim and Terry? I want things the way they used to be. The bisque has become way too thick with too much cream. The fish fry is better at Wegman's right next door. The pub fare is well . . . just pub fare. Wraps and sandwiches and blah, blah, blah. They used to have a wonderful Sunday brunch a long time ago and it was extremely good but now it's gone. And where, for the love of all that is holy, is the bangers-and-mash? Where's the soda bread? Where's the shepherd's pie, the corned beef, the leek or Irish potato soups? Corned beef and cabbage only on St. Patty's? Please, oh please, put the Irish back up on the wall. HOWEVER, if all you're looking for is an appetizer or maybe a chicken Caesar wrap with a domestic ale, then Flaherty's is still your place. It's location is excellent and the only place in the area where you can get it. The prices? Ouch, babe. And don't even get me going on their diminished imported beer selection. I'm hurting myself saying this. I really am. Flaherty's has been my one and only Irish pub but I just can't take it anymore. Now with the senior living center across the street the clientele is not only shoulder-to-shoulder, but very . . . let's just say they like to take their time. Oh well. To everything, turn, turn, turn . . . there is a season, turn, turn, turn. Flaherty's . . . you and I had so many special, happy times together. That is all in the past now. Extremely slow service with a server who was only attending to 1 or 2 other tables in a generally dead restaurant? Check. Blandest garlic bread I have had in a while? Check. Raw chicken breast in a sandwich? Check. Server (despite being told before the orders were taken that we need separate checks) claiming she can do them at the end but has no idea who got what at the end and gets it wrong even after asking a million questions? "Flags" gets a ton of local traffic. It's next door to the Eastway Wegmans and there's an Applebees' on the other side, yet on a Friday night, few diners think to park in Wegmans' lot. And so Flags is jammed. Flags tries to be many things: a bar, a family restaurant, a karaoke joint. This schizoid personality makes it a good meeting place, but mostly an average restaurant. The food is okay. Nothing extraordinary. One of our party loved the lobster bisque, which seemed abundantly stocked. The fish fry? Not so wonderful. Not overly greasy, but it had signs of having been fried a bit earlier, then re-heated or kept warm in an oven. On the plus side: the food's less salty than similar fare at Applebees. Service was prompt, friendly, and attentive. No complaints. Prices seemed on the high side; $12.99 for a fish fry (that skimped on the French fries), $16.99 for a grilled or baked fish Oscar. So if you want a very busy neighborhood bar/restaurant atmosphere with OK food at somewhat pricey cost, Flags would be worth your time. read more

The night started off with a Skunky Bluemoon traded it in for a Samuel Adams Oktoberfest ..Had the Irish Bangers and shepherds pie....... The bangers were very over cooked, the mashed potatoes were OK.... Now the shepherds pie was very good! Not sure we will be returning anytime soon. read more

One of our favorite restaurants!! We frequent this location often. But have visited all locations before. Honeoye Falls is hands down our favorite! The food is always amazing and portions are so big there's always leftovers for home. The staff is very accommodating and the drinks are fabulous. We have come for family dinners and nights out. They often have great entertainment on the weekends! And the manager makes you feel like family and always says hello. If your looking for good food in a nice atmosphere this is definitely worth the visit! I would give it 10 stars if I could. read more

Stopped by on a Friday night with my wife and two of her friends. Ordered a burger, which is usually a safe choice anywhere you end up. I ordered it medium rare. When I got the burger I was surprised at how small it was, and also the small serving of fries that came with it. Found the burger to be done well. I would have sent it back but service was so slow that everyone at the table was done by the time the waiter came back. Wont be going back, and I have no idea why the parking lot is full every weekend. Overcooking a burger is usually no big deal to me, It gets busy in a kitchen on a Friday and things fall between the cracks, but the bad service on top of that makes me think that they need to revamp, and maybe get some experienced kitchen management. read more

Usually when I go to Flaherty's, or "Flags" as it's often called, it's for lunch. The food is pretty good, but the pace of the meal is unfortunately (if you're on a time-crunch) usually pretty slow. If you can handle a leisurely pace, this is a good spot. The menu consists of standard pub-fair, but is not what I would consider "bar food," the frozen stuffs some joints pull out of the freezer, deep-fry and then serve you, although they do offer some of that stuff in the menu for starters, or if you're just there to drink beer and watch sports (they have a couple decent tv's and nice bartenders too). The food comes off as fresh-prepared, helpings are large, and I have never been served anything there that wasn't tasty. I recommend the Buffalo Chicken Salad with Medium Sauce and Bleu Cheese Dressing or the Flaherty's Melt with Turkey and Cheddar on Rye Bread (which comes out buttery and a little smudge crunchy from grilling). If you have excellent food maneuvering skills, I would try one of their wraps like the Chicken Caesar or the Buffalo Chicken wrap--I didn't know I needed special skills to eat a Flaherty's wrap until I tried and ended up wearing it...I believe in my situation it was "user error" and not the fault of Flaherty's though, because they did provision a toothpick which I carelessly dislodged, not realizing that it was the keystone to the wrap architectural structuring. You've been warned: LEAVE THE TOOTHPICK IN and eat carefully around it if you order a wrap. In summary, Flaherty's food is pub-alicious and tasty, but slow...the staff is very friendly and attentive, and the ambience is relaxed, with a pub/sports bar on one side or dining room on the other...Also: I am a slob who doesn't have the minimal skills compulsory to eating without sullying myself. Nice place. Good food, decent portions. I've been here three or four times over the past few years when I've been in town to visit family. This past visit, on Halloween, I had the shepherd's pie. It was very good, but perhaps had too much Worcestershire sauce on the meat portion. Still, I'd order it again. The hostess was welcoming and competent. The waitress was good. The food arrived in a reasonable amount of time. The only service glitch was very minor; we asked for two more wine glasses; the waitress brought them and the bus boy tried to take them away within two minutes because they were sitting on the end of the table. Their atmosphere is nice. I love their seafood bisque. However the last two times I went I was a little disappointed. The shepherds pie was gross and my stuffed mushrooms tasted firm and fresh out of the fridge! I usually love artichoke French but it was gooey lumpy and cold. Flags has a neighborhood bar atmosphere. I like it for that and, therefore, never sit in the dining room. I prefer the bar food choices such and sandwiches and salads, rather than the full dinners. I would chose some where else for a full dinner. I gave Flags 4 stars because of the bar atmosphere rather than the food. I would recommend it if you want a quick bite or appetizers. Ordered Black Angus Sirloin yesterday, it was tasteless. The rolls had no flavor as well. Ordered a side pasta instead of potato and was charged extra for white sauce and wasn't told about an extra charge when ordering. The Parmesan cheese container had mold in it. Really substandard. My visit was at 7:30 on a Friday night. My fish fry was rubbery and the fries were limp. My friends steak was thin and chewy. Over the last year, Hubby and I have tried Flaherty's Fish Fry (both Thursday and Friday versions). It was just plain TASTELESS, as in devoid of any flavor other than oil. I've tried the Chicken French twice and YES it sucked both times. The chicken was dry and hard! The pasta was very OVER cooked. The sauce tasted like sugar and that was it. We still didn't want to give up on them, as they were a favorite of ours for so long. So our next try was to order take out. We got the Garlic Bread, Homemade Chili, Flag Burger with Fries, Sheppard's Pie, and the Chicken & Broccoli Alfredo Pasta. YES you can SCREW UP garlic bread. The bread was soggy with oil and the crust was tough and hard to chew! The chili was ok. Hubby makes it way better. I didn't even recognize the Sheppard's Pie when I took the lid off. It was this watery looking mess with a couple of strips of mashed potatoes across the top. I've never seen anything like it. I did hope it would taste better than it looked but NO such luck. The flavor was, at best, odd. Hubby is POSITIVE, and I agree 100% it was from a CAN!!!! We each took a couple of bites then into the trash it went. The Flag Burger was small but "edible". The Chicken Broccoli Alfredo looked ok, but the chicken was hard and dry, the broccoli was so OVER cooked it was hardly green!! The sauce was lacking a cheese flavor. It was also thrown in the trash. What happened to the Chef??? Did he leave and forget to TRAIN his replacement?? The kitchen as a whole is a mess. When I arrived to pick up my order it took the staff 12 minutes to unpack, go to the kitchen, repack, unpack and repack the bags with the CORRECT food order!!! I seriously have a PROBLEM with a wait person taking orders over the phone and just deciding to add cheese to your food when it was NEVER asked for, just because it COSTS MORE!! And DO NOT ask a customer if they want to swap fries for the chips, unless you LET THEM KNOW that it costs more. Is Flaherty's that DESPERATE for money that they have to resort to those kinds of TRICKS!!!! They should be ASHAMED to charge as much as they do for such poor quality food.
