I got the mortadella sandwich and it was very good. I think it had some sweet syrup glaze and I didn't really enjoy that part. My friend got the wine flight and she really enjoyed it. The wine was a special import from Spain and the owner was actually visiting from Spain. It was very fun to talk to her. The vibes are immaculate. It's a little hard to find when it's on the maps but just look around for it. It was so fun and I can't wait for it to be warm again to sit on the patio!

The food was delicious; we ordered burrata and mushroom toast and I would have both again today. They definitely find food flavor profiles that work well together. Our drinks got lost in the shuffle, so we didn't get them until after our food, but they were both intriguing. The funky martini was a take on a martini that I actually liked! The pear Negroni was a little sweet for me, but tasted just like a pear.

Had such an amazing experience at Standby!! The food and especially the drinks were outstanding…read more The cocktail menu was organized into three parts: Opening, Principals, and Finish. The theme was "Yes, Chef: An exploration of culinary icons through a cocktail lens." Each drink was inspired by or dedicated to a famous culinary icon, and you can read about each one in the index. We each ordered one drink from each section. From the Opening, I chose the Diaspora Club, which was so refreshing and delicious. Then from the Principals, I chose the Chingona, which was a little bit spicy and savory but still so refreshing. To Finish, I chose the Chocolatier Cosmo, which came with a tiny house-made salted dark chocolate. I loved all three cocktails I ordered, especially the chocolatier cosmo because it was perfectly sweet and went so well with the small piece of chocolate. For food, we started off with the crispy pork belly milk bread. For my entree, I ordered the miso butter gnocchi. It was kind of on the salty side but I still really liked it. The apple sofrito added a bit of sweetness to it. For dessert, we had to get the rhubarb coffee cake, which came with strawberry ice cream. Omg one of the best desserts I've ever had!! I never thought of combining cinnamon coffee cake with rhubarb or strawberry but it's perfect, and I might have to make something like that soon. Service was great and we were seated right away at 8pm on a Saturday despite not having a reservation. Food and drinks came out promptly and timed perfectly. We spent about 1.5 hours here and we never felt rushed.

The pork belly on toast and roasted carrots were absolutely delicious. About the drinks, these bartenders know their stuff. I ordered a late 1800s gin drink called the Clover Club and he knew right away what it was and made it perfectly. The guy had skills behind the bar and showed some flair making drinks. The vibe was super chill and relaxed with good music gently played in the background. Highly recommended this spot if you're in Detroit.

The foie gras was sooo rich and smooth. My sister also enjoyed her beef tartare. Both came with about four pieces of toast. I also got the burger, which is off the menu but our waiter mentioned it and when he said house made brioche AND house made cheese, I was sold. I got the double patty as recommended, which was the right decision even for me (small person who usually thinks a double is too much meat). I think because it was a smash burger, so the meat wasn't too thick. Service was excellent, very attentive and wonderful recommendations. I highly recommend this place if you're looking to have a nice meal in downtown Detroit.

The restaurant was getting full by 6pm, so having a reservation is probably best. We finally got a chance to eat here and decided on the Tasting Menu ($95/pp, the whole table has to have it) because a lot of the dishes were items we were already looking at. We started off with some drinks, all the drinks were well balanced and not too sweet-perfect. For Tequila: Good Behavior & (Mezcal): Better Off Red were super delicious. Note for the tasting menu (for the 2 of us), they plated 1 dish per course so just note that you do not each get a separate plate so I'm assuming the portions are double (although I wonder what they do for a single person and the whole trout...). I guess it's nice to share a plate so my hubby could enjoy more food but seems like a lot of plates and silverware getting used/changed with each course so it makes me wonder why each person doesn't just get their own portion. Anyway, first course: I don't really like scallops, but these scallops was cool, refreshing with a very mild scallop flavor so I really enjoyed it! Second: tomato tart with goat cheese +heirloom tomatoes salad (very good), Third: Ricotta Gnocchi (YUM), a lot of pancetta pieces, Fourth: Whole trout (the chef removed 95% of the bones, yay, loved that. It was pretty mild taste which was overall good, I liked all the different mushrooms that came with it & Last: Banana Split- feels healthy with the banana there and wow, the cherries look like Luxardo ones. Honestly, this was a good amount of food (I wasn't overly stuffed thankfully but full). I would definitely recommend the Tasting Menu (note, no modifications/subs allowed) and was glad we ordered it. The pacing was not hurried (we were not in a rush), but they can definitely accommodate (bring 2 courses out at a time), if you need to be somewhere by a certain time for a show or game. They also have a free parking lot (fenced in)! We will most definitely be back, it was an amazing night at Bar Pigalle!

The vibe of the bar is a bit upscale with the dim lighting and professional staff while also feeling quaint and approachable. Our server was so friendly and helpful, especially helping navigate the extensive menu of cocktails and liquor. She helped me narrow down my first drink to a Clover Club which was perfectly made. I decided to order a second drink, a Pisco Sour, because it's not something I find at many bars. Yet again, the drink was perfectly made and balanced. Pricing was very fair and I would highly recommend this bar to anyone looking for an elevated date night.
