I am recently widowed and a bit overwhelmed with managing all that does wrong. When I tore the spoiler off my Prius while opening the garage door I was beside myself - Toyota wanted to charge an arm and a leg and would not even help me detach the spoiler completely so I could drive. This place is the best around! I got in an accident in 2011 which nearly totaled the front end of my Jeep. When I picked it up it looked better than new. Though there was $16000 worth of body work done, you would never know. Gary and his staff are the nicest ever. I never spoke to the insurance company after my initial report. They took care of everything. 3 years later, I started having problems with my radiator. I was up from LA on a little beach vacay. Someone else managed to pop loose the right side of my front bumper while driving my car. Went to Yelp. Five stars for Superior, so I headed over there. Gary took a look, said they could take the bumper off and put it back on right after his guy got back from lunch. A couple of hours later I returned with a check in hand. The nice woman behind the counter handed me the keys and told me there would be no charge. NO CHARGE! What? I wasn't a return customer, just some schmuck from out of town. We all know that dealing with most auto shops leaves you feeling like you just left the DMV: pissed off, tired, not listened to and just generally sick of people. They rip you off, they lie, they jerk you around for weeks, they don't return phone calls, they do subpar work at best, and downright abysmal work at their worst. It's polite ladies actually answering the phones, speaking to customers kindly and calmly, and giving them accurate and helpful information. Hear that? It's employees actually talking to each other about their work, what they have to get done, how it can be done faster, and what they can do to help each other out. Feel that? It's satisfaction, knowing that at the very least, these people are legit and professional, and completely know what they're doing. I was in a terrible fender bender last month. I thought my car was totaled, and I was devastated. Insurance told me to go to Superior, and I would be taken care of. I was completely stressed out, and not in the mood to deal with anyone. I dealt primarily with Dan Trouts. He was nice, always took my calls, answered what I can only assume are stupid questions, and didn't make me feel like an idiot. He found parts timely, kept in touch regularly so that I would always know what was going on, and was always honest about my car. He told me more than once that they do excellent work, and sometimes it takes a while, but that it was worth it. Truer words were never spoken. I picked up my car yesterday, and it looks and drives like a dream. These people are unbelievably kind, very smart, and not here to fool you or undermine you. I know next to nothing about cars, and Dan was always willing to explain exactly what he was doing, or why something was delayed. I appreciated that, as sometimes you're not always given a detailed list of what you're ordering, so to speak. I took my car in after I got into an accident. They handled everything with the insurance company, so I pretty much just dropped it off and picked it up 1 1/2 weeks later. I know close to nothing about cars, and before I picked it up friends and family were telling me I needed to inspect the work that was done. I was nervous asking for that because I wouldn't really know what I was looking at. The person who handled my claim, Gary, took me out to look at the car without me asking. He then showed me exactly what they did, what was replaced, and got a quote from another shop for me for an issue I was having before the accident. I never felt like he was talking down to me and made me know I could trust their work. I will definitely recommend this place to anyone needing a body shop. Hands down, Superior Collision Center has the best customer service of any auto repair place I've ever been to (and trust me, I've been to a few). In my experience, getting your car fixed is never fun, especially when it's been damaged by someone else and you need to deal with their insurance company and the place their insurance sends you to get your car fixed. I was leery to use this place, simply because I didn't get to choose, the insurance company chose for me. From the moment I walked in, the front desk staff was friendly, courteous, compassionate and helpful. I asked to have my car done by a certain time and they actually made the valiant effort to have it done early. Imagine that! They did a great job, handled the paperwork, and even cleaned my car for me (inside and out) before giving it back. The repair itself (rear bumper replacement) was done perfectly. After being involved in an accident that nearly totaled our 2007 Toyota 4Runner we were directed to Superior Collision Center to assess and repair the damages. Significant repairs were necessary and our car was in the shop for a full 30 days (which happened to be the amount of time allotted by our insurance for car rental coverage). When we picked up the car it looked brand new.....and then we started noticing that was not the case. While Superior Collision Center did excellent work on the exterior it did not appear that their attention to detail extended to the interior of the vehicle. The airbags had deployed which caused some circuit damage to the dashboard so the car was shipped off to the local Toyota dealer to have the airbags installed and whatever accompanying issues resolved. I am unsure who was responsible for the quality control for this portion of the repairs but I hold Superior responsible since they were the business listed on the invoice. The dash cover had been installed incorrectly, effectively jamming an AC direction wheel behind the cover, rendering it immobile. The hazard lights did not work, the defroster light was out, the gear shift was missing a cover piece and the frame around the gear shift had not been popped into place. After we noticed that there were still items that needed to be fixed with the car we returned the vehicle to the shop, they provided us with a rental car (free of charge) and called us within two days to let us know the repairs were complete. We picked up the car only to notice that the defroster light was still out, despite having given them a checklist of items to fix. They were able to fix it in the parking lot after about 20 minutes and we were on our way......then we tried to get gas for the first time since the 2nd repairs were done. The latch that opens the gas tank was now broken. It looked as if when they went under the dashboard to repair the lights they broke the gas tank latch! So we are VERY FRUSTRATED with how this process has gone. I am torn between 2 and 3 stars so I gave them the higher rating because despite not getting things right the 1st or 2nd time, they are very nice when you contact them and I appreciate the free rental they provided when they were fixing their errors. I don't think that our situation is typical of how things go when they repair cars but it doesn't make it much less frustrating when we are the ones that have to deal with the inconvenience. read more

It ended up taking a bit longer than promised so they paid for a rental car for me until my car was ready. That was much appreciated. The people there were very pleasant to work with and responsive. They gave me a good rate since the elderly woman who hit me had let her insurance expire when her husband died earlier in the year and I was going to pay for it myself. A SOLID 5 STARS!! I am a perfectionist, mechanically inclined and I hold my standards very high!! So when it comes to auto body repair, it's a little bit out of my league therefore I was referred to Superior Collision Center by a friend. The service here is far beyond excellent for I can't find the right words to describe them. From the receptionist to the technicians, they all provided such an awesome service and professionalism!! I own a KIA Optima and was rear ended. I had taken my car to 2 other body shops before going to Superior Collision Center. Upon arrival, Carlos Rodriguez inspected my vehicle. What pushed me to continue service with Superior Collision Center was the fact that Carlos crawled under my vehicle to see the damages to provide me with a more thorough estimate as the other 2 shops I previously visited just looked at my car without opening the trunk nor looking underneath. During repairs, I called several times to get an up date on it and they had no problems taking and or returning my calls in a very timely manner. My car was completed within 5 working days and it looked just as good as new if not better!! They exceeded my expectations and I am completely satisfied!! Superior Collision has done work on my car twice and they have done nothing but an outstanding and excellent job. I have a late model 2009 Toyota with 3 stage paint. The first time, they had my car done through Ventura Toyota, and the second time I went to them direct. I worked with one of the owner's Gary, and he was straight and very professional with me. They ordered a new bumper on Monday, ( even though insurance recommended repairing it), I dropped it off Tuesday morning, and it was done Perfectly by Wednesday afternoon. The manager was is a very nice guy and was very professional as we discussed my expectations and concerns. He discussed, at length, the paint and blending process and the particular problems with blending on my MX-5 with the previous paint job that it had before I bought it. He was very patient with me despite my unfavorable review. He offered to have the front bumper painted to match the rest of the vehicle at a significant cost reduction. I am in the process of having it done at this time and will update the post based on the results. Original post: Two Stars. May 22, 2014. My 2006 Mazda MX-5 was backed into while parked. The damage was located on the drivers-side front fender and a small nick on the drivers-side door. When I dropped off the car, the service manager discussed what would be done and ensured that the finished product would meet my expectations. He specifically went over the body parts that would be replaced and the areas of the body that would get repainted and blended so the difference between the old and new paint wouldn't be apparent. The car was completed three days later than the initial estimate. Here is a rundown on the "goods" and "bads": Goods: The body-work that was done was spot on. Flawless. I could tell that new parts were installed and done correctly. In addition, they also buffed out some scratching of the clear coat on the trunk that was there before the accident. Customer service was professional. Bads: The blending of the grey metallic paint was completely not what I expected. The blending of the paint across the hood and rear fender where done so poorly that there is now a significant color difference between the bumpers and the entire driver's side of the vehicle. When I expressed concern to the service manager he initially claimed that it was only the difference between the plastic and metal material. Later he claimed that it couldn't be matched because the car was previously painted poorly. I requested another quote from the service manager to restore the car to my satisfaction but was never provided one. In summary: I feel that the paint department could have done a better job of blending the paint from new to old so that the difference was not as discernable. When I expressed the concern, I felt the service department offered only excuses. read more

The "Superior Collision Center of Oxnard" is a fraud. IT WAS RECOMMENDED BY MY INSURANCE! I took my car so that it could get painted and the convertible top replaced and they did a BAD JOB! When i received back from them after 34 days in their hands; I could still see the scratches on the paint, it also had many "fish eyes", the convertible top was not installed properly (windows don't roll up completely), paint was found on the steering wheel, few small parts from the inside of the vehicle were missing, holes were found on the floor of the back seats. The owners got very upset when my husband brought up the issue of the scratches to their attention and they were very disrespectful... WORSE CUSTOMER SERVICE I HAVE SEEN FROM A BUSINESS OWNER! The worse part is that my car had some parts exchanged "Headlights tank/vehicle kit/battery/ and probably motor "it was an automatic speed car now it is not drivable on the 5th speed! OK and to make it seem not so obvious they placed an "spare" tire in my vehicle---- I DID NOT HAVE ONE SINCE DAY ONE THAT I GOT MY VEHICLE AT THE DEALERSHIP :( The INSURANCE (who recommended them --PROGRESSIVE) DID NOT INVESTIGATE THEM, "THE SHOP WAS PAID $9,000 FOR THEIR CRAPPY/FISHY JOB"; AND NOW MY CAR IS A TOTAL LOSS. The insurance will pay the balance I owe to the bank and they are keeping my car....in this case Insurance/shop working together and the customer (ME) loss (the car). I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND THIS SHOP TO MY FRIENDS AND FAMILY. NEITHER WILL RECOMMEND THE INSURANCE BECAUSE THEY WERE SUPPOSED TO HELP ME OUT AND INSTEAD THEY PAID THE SHOP FOR THEIR "FISHY JOB" INSTEAD OF INVESTIGATE MY COMPLAINT AND THE FRAUDULENT PRACTICES OF THIS SHOP!
