Just got back from Fix Auto Berkeley (San Pablo location). I thought our car used to look nice (before we were sideswiped) but I'm in awe of how good the car looks after the repairs. It really looks better than new. There were a few things about Fix Auto that really stand out - (1) they are paired with our insurance company and the two communicated daily with updates about the completion date, covering extended rental car fees, and covering the cost of extra work needed, (2) Danielle at the front desk is very kind and very organized (read: the Fix Auto linchpin), (3) Jimmy went above and beyond to make sure our repairs were comprehensive. This included fixing parts of the car that weren't directly involved in the accident but were necessary to ensure the car runs smoothly. The full cost of the extra work was still covered in the original estimate and the car came out better than when it went in even pre-accident. read more

Initially, I had given Platinum a high rating, but then noticed damage on the top rear of my car they had missed. I took it back to them and they sloppily plugged and covered the large holes they had left with hardened ugly black goop. At first it was difficult to balance the decent work they had first done for me with such irresponsible and careless and low quality service. I had already spent a great deal of money at Platinum, and could not trust them to do more work. I took my car to other service providers for estimates, and every one of them mentioned the unsightly appearance and lack of quality evidenced by the condition of my car. It was costly to repair the damage Platinum had done, but I did find an excellent repair service that beautifully restored my car. My mistake for taking Platinum's friendly behavior by staff as real concern for customers. Never again, Platinum. read more

Although it took a while to actually get my car into the shop, I would say that it was well worth the wait. Someone rear ended me and I had to get the bumper fixed and repainted. They did a phenomenal job color matching and to the naked eye it looks completely flawless. While there are great repair shops all throughout the Bay, what really sets these guys apart is their customer service and the emphasis that they put on customer convenience. They made sure that the repair and rental process went seamlessly, which I really appreciate because we all know how much of a hassle that can be. And to top it off, they're open on Saturdays! Upon dropping my car off at the shop, Eugene gave me a ride over to the hertz location, which already had my reservation ready to go. What I was expecting to take hours ended up taking only minutes and I was on my way. The return transaction was very similar. read more

It turns out I don't have the best neighbors because they just love to hit my car and drive away. The first time I was hit, the grill of my car was completely cracked and there was damage to the bumper as well. The second time was much less severe with only a minor paint crack and damage to the license plate cover. But with both incidents, the awesome team at Platinum went above and beyond my expectations for quality work and customer service. I had a gig car run in to me. He tore the front bumper cover. If you look at the front end of modern car, there is a plastic cover over the bumper. Damage to these is a large part of any body shop's business. My insurance adjuster determined that it was going to cost $150 above my deductible. I chose Platinum based on the Yelp reviews. They are very approachable and worked up an estimate in a few minutes. I asked may questions about the paint matching. At the factory, the bumper cover is painted at the same time as the body. Replacing the cover requires a technician to paint the bumper to match the body color. So its done, and it is really well matched. read more

About six months ago, I woke up to find the wheels were stolen off of my car. Dealing with insurance and the, to put it mildly, crooked tow company who held my car hostage for two weeks was an absolute NIGHTMARE. So, understandably, when my wheels were stolen AGAIN three weeks ago after having locking lug nuts installed, I was an emotional mess. Both times my car was at Fix this year, they were nothing but absolute angels. Very professional and responsive, and they made sure to call whenever they had updates for me. I've had plenty of experiences in the past with body shops being condescending and giving me the run around - the folk at Fix were nothing but polite and understanding to my situation, and I never once felt like they were talking down to me. I will never take my car to another body shop in the bay after coming here - highly, HIGHLEY reccomend them if you need body work. Special shout outs go to Eugene, who coordinated with us the first time around, and Allanda, who helped us the second time around. They were more than happy to discuss different options (i.e. locking lug nuts, lug nut covers, alarm installation and recommendations, etc) to help me figure out a plan to keep my car safe from future hits. I hardly ever writereviews... but this place warranted one. I had them paint aftermarket fenders that came primered from the manufacturer. Found them here on yelp and they gave me a great quote. Brought them in and picked them up a week later. After installing them and taking my car for a wash, one of the fenders started to peel!!! Oh no! I called Eugene and explained it to him. He mentioned that they were a bit worried about it because of the primer coat that came from the manufacturer. Needless to say, no questions asked, they stripped and repainted all four fenders and re-installed them. I know that this came out to be more work than anticipated, but thanks to Eugene for taking care of this correctly and swiftly and honoring the original quote. Great experience here.... read more

Fix Auto Berkeley is excellent. I worked mostly with Yimmy and Rachel. Both were professional and very accessible. I would be happy to work with them again if I were to have another accident. My insurer chose this shop. Despite the relationship between the shop and the insurer, the shop--and Yimmy and Rachel specifically--helped me navigate my insurance claim, so that the claim was resolved on much-better-than-expected terms. Took my car in for an aftermarket spoiler. The part was a duckbill spoiler, unpainted and needed professional installation. I had checked in with several other shops in the East Bay area, over the course of the last 6months - each time unimpressed mostly by the service or interest (or lack thereof) in understanding what I needed to get done. I love my car and want only the best hands touching her! So, it didn't matter that it was now running close to almost a year since I purchased the part, I just wanted to make sure it was going to be handled by the right person and most importantly, the finished work would look good! My experience was great from the get-go at Platinum Collision, and needless to say, I found it through yelp research. I met with the owner, Eugene, on a Saturday to discuss my intentions for the car and get a quote. He came out with me, patiently looked at the part and we talked about what needed to happen - he shared his perspectives in detail and then gave me a breakdown of the cost etc. It was professional, and I felt that this was someone who knew cars and cared about them. We even spent a few moments discussing tracking cars, modifications etc...I definitely liked this place! In addition, I liked the price and thought it was fair. Not cheap, but after all, you get what you pay for, so I was comfortable with it. Several weeks later I brought in my baby and dropped her off with them; had another rundown of my expectations, this time with Juan who was very pleasant, very attentive and detailed and ensured he recapped exactly what I needed and wanted. Juan and I also talked about cars- what he has going on with his personal cars...this convinced me I left my girl in the right hands. I work in the area, so I was excited to have a complimentary ride back to work. This is that extra element of customer service that makes a difference to someone like me. Juan was my contact person, and I got a couple of calls during the install to update me of the progress and address some challenges that came up regarding the spoiler (ripples/bumps on it), coupled with options on how to address them. Off course I was concerned that this would mean more money spent on my end, but that ended up not being the case as I spent less than the original quote because the painting was less than what was projected, a very welcome gift to my pocket book! All in all, the project took a few weeks - a few days longer than anticipated but I was okay with that because I wanted them to take the time needed to do the best work, and I was not in a hurry to get the car back. Besides, I was thrilled that Juan was also able to capture a few pics for me as she went through her transformation...car enthusiasts understand this little extra give! Finally, I got the call my girl was ready for pickup and that was an exciting day! And I loved that both Juan and Eugene shared in that energy and excitement with me! It was a gorgeous Saturday morning, and I arrived to find my baby clean and waxed (ANOTHER little unexpected gift) and ready for my viewing pleasure. The spoiler looked like it was always a part of the vehicle. It was smooth and flawless and looked spectacular. I have other projects in mind that I discussed with Juan and Eugene, and not only did they share some ideas and thoughts with me regarding my future intentions, but they also even referred me to another business that could do some alternate work that may be cheaper!!! What? They were willing to lose out on that money by referring me elsewhere just to help me save money? Yes! But in the end, I have decided that I will be coming back to them for that install...and I look forward to that coming up soon....as soon as I recover from this last expenditure, lol! Thank you Juan! Fix Auto did an amazing job on my car. I brought it in with a flap of metal that had been pulled up on the top of my car from my bike rack. I brought it to another shop and they said it was not repairable and that they would have to replace the entire panel. When Fix Auto told me they would repair it without having to replace it, I was skeptical. When I got it back, I was amazed. They were able to make the bent piece of metal look like new at a fraction of the cost! They also offered me a ride to my rental car and were generally super helpful. As usually happens with these types of situations, I found Platinum Auto after someone scratched up my car. Luckily, their insurance paid for their work-- which, by the way, was outstanding! I just picked my car up from them this afternoon, and their paint job was second-to-none. They're also extremely accommodating, and super friendly. Hopefully I won't have to get my car repaired again, but if I do, I'm definitely coming here again. I will say that their location could be better. Sure, it's convenient and easy to find. However, their space is extremely small, so much so that I had to come back later in the day just to park my car to get an estimate. Hopefully they can remedy that soon. Absolutely terrible, don't use this shop. Women-be aware the owner Eugene will tell you a bunch of B.S. and try to scam you! My car was hit and had $13,500 worth of damage. After 3 months and endless excuses, I pick up the car and Eugene keeps saying "look how clean it is-we detailed and waxed it for you". This was his attempt to try and get me to focus on the shiny car? The car had major issues: gas gauge didn't work, huge vibration when I drove over 30mph, rear inside panel cracked, dust everywhere inside the car and a strong smell of spray paint. When I picked up the car for the second time a week later, Eugene tried to tell me that I was "getting free work" and that the bad tire and gas gauge "were not part of the accident". $13,500 worth of repairs and I'm getting free work? They are completely disorganised and blame long delays on "supply chain issues ". Can you imagine an owner berating a customer because they wanted their car to be drivable after 3 months? Again, terrible experience, go elsewhere. read more

I recently had an accident and I took my car to Fix Auto Berkeley. That place is absolutely amazing! The customer service is great! They are all very friendly and professional, especially Gen and Dino, who will go the extra mile to make sure you are satisfied and will take the time to happily explain everything that needs to be done, and will stand by their work. Gen, who has a beautiful personality is an asset to the company and is a great communicator with customers. Dino has a great sense of humor and is very thorough in checking your car, making sure you understand what the damages are, and what has to be done. He is very professional and knowledgeable. You don't feel rushed and he takes his time with you. I felt very comfortable and I never felt like I was being taken advantage of. In addition to the above, I have always appreciated the informative texts that Gen sends out stating exactly what is being done and when my car will be ready. I also had the pleasure to meet Gene. He took me to my car upon completion and we ended up having a nice conversation. He is a nice person to deal with. I had the best experience at Fix Auto, mostly due to Alondra. As a woman, it is always a gamble if you are going to get taken advantage of at any dealership, maintenance location, or auto body shop. I instantly felt comfortable with Alondra and talked everything through with her. She worked with me to figure out what would be best for me, and it ended up being less than another quote I got from somewhere else. She also knows Subarus (which I have) very well and gave me some good tips for the future. I would go to any Auto Body shop she was working at to make sure I was getting the best service. Someone bumped my car while it was parked on the street, and a dent made it difficult to open the driver's door all the way. Oceanworks II recommended this place and I just stopped in. Even though the shop was obviously busy, Ki was AWESOME and super friendly. He asked if I could hang out a few minutes and then got one of the guys to come and check out my car. We talked about the options and possible complications, and he said they could probably try and get the dent out and make the door functional in about an hour. Seriously, 10 minutes later it was all done and the door worked great. My car is older (a 2001), so I didn't care about the paint or anything like that, but no one will probably ever know there was a dent there once. I would definitely bring my car here again (hopefully I won't have to) and will recommend them to friends. Yay! read more

I got rear ended by a SUV last week and was looking for a body shop around Berkeley and I found 101 Collision. I gave them a call and the manager Steve told me to bring my car. Drove in and met with Steve, he seemed young but he actually knows what he is doing, took care of all the paper work and everything. They even dropped me off at the car rental. I dropped my car off on Tuesday and picked up my car on Friday. Steve did a great job. My car looks like a brand new car. Great customer service, Steve and his team did a great job. I had a small collision the end of last week , took my car to two different places but they were way out of my price range not only that but were going to take a long time to fix it due to their busy schedule. Luckily i found this place ! Took the car in early in the morning took about 20 min for them to diagnose and tell me a price. Steve worked with me on a very reasonable price, cant thank him enough his a great person to work with and completely understood a persons daily struggle. These guys are amazing! I was onsite at a photoshoot in Marin. When we returned to our cars I saw that someone had hit the corner of my bumper and scratched off the paint. No note (bummer, I would expect more from Marin nature enthusiasts). Anyway, as most people, I am always a little wary with anything car related. I went into Platinum Auto and spoke with Dino. The car is metallic and so it requires a special type of paint to make sure the repaired properly. They walked me through the process (the paint and process requirements for my car) and gave me a great price. The whole experience was great and they will definitely by my go to group in the future. Platinum is the new body shop, sharing the same address as 101 collision which I was not happy with, so pardon any previous reviews I had on the location. I work directly across the street so going here has been convenient, as was checking on the progress. I was a little disappointed in how long it took to get the car back, but the place recently has become packed with customers so I guess I had to get it in to stake my place in line. I'm going to post before and after pics of the work they did. I'm very happy with the bodywork and results, their is no orange peel as resulted in previous work from the business I took it to for other bodywork. The body is smooth as glass. Let me start off by saying I really, really, really love my car. My honda prelude SH was my first car after graduating from college, and I still baby the hell out of it after 15 years now. All stock, paint as clear as glass, and an interior that is absolute perfection. So you can imagine the sadness I felt when I crashed my car in September 2014. I rear ended another car on the freeway. I was okay, but my car wasn't. The front end bumber, hood, radiator, AC condenser, headlights and hood were damaged. I think I was really depressed about the whole thing, and I thought about selling my baby for parts while I try to find another prelude SH, or similar. However, after several test drives, I came to the conclusion thought no one else loved the prelude as much as I do, and I would never be able to find another car as clean as mine. I decided to try and fix it. I'd gone through 2 other local shops and got estimates, but decided to get at least a 3rd estimate. Luckily I heard about 101 Collision Center on Yelp. I checked out their website, read some of their testimonials and saw other people's before-and-after pictures. I decided to send them an email to see if they were able to take a look at my car. What impressed me the most about them was their customer service. Henry immediately responded and was willing to do an estimate at my home, since my car was not drivable at this point. He looked at the two other estimates I had, and walked me through his thoughts about what the car needed as well. He was even willing to tow my car to the shop for free if I decided to have him fix the car. Luckily, there was no frame damage so my car could be restored safely. Honestly,all three estimates were in the same ball park, and 101 is even a little bit further from my house. But everything I saw about 101 collision, and their great customer service at that point convinced me to go with them. Henry kept me in the loop about how the repairs were going, and when I got my car back, my jaw dropped on how great my car looked. I met Ki at the Berkeley location and he was also very nice. He explained to me their lifetime warranty on their paint and body work, and told me that if there were any problems not to hesitate and call; they will take care of it. The bottom line is 101 Collision Center made me love my car again. If you love your car as much as I, do yourself a favor whenever you get into an unfortunate accident, and give these guys a call.
