Found Caliber Collision through my insurance and have brought 2 cars here. It's conveniently located walking distance to Enterprise Rental, which is a preferred rental car company for my insurance. Both times, dropping of my vehicle in the morning was difficult bc of a vendor (the same vendor each time) was blocking the driveway with their large truck double parked so I wasn't able to pull in. I had to circle around the block multiple times, finally found parking nearby - only to have to move my car into the garage after the vendor left. I understand they are located in a company space, but having an efficient way to drop off vehicles seems like it should be a priority. The first time I brought a car in, the damage was repaired quickly and the work was good. As a result, the next time one of my vehicles needed work, I brought it to Caliber. However, this time my experience was incredibly disappointing. When I picked up my car, I could see the body damage was repaired, but my car had some unsightly white residue on it. It was promptly taken back and cleaned after I pointed it out. I didn't think too much of it and now wish I had taken the time to examine the inside of my car before leaving. The interior of my car was filthy - not how I dropped it off. The third row was lowered to expand the trunk area - also not how I left it. There were dirty dust/scuff marks and drops of yellow paint. Some sort of sticky white residue on the interior panels, too. And "Juan" left his Starbucks drink in a cup holder in the back - which turned moldy. This was the first time I received a vehicle back in worse condition than I left it - and unfortunately, I did not realize it until my kids opened the door to hop into the back. After my service, I received a generic email from Caliber inquiring about the quality of work and customer service. I left a description of the dirty condition and attached photos . I did not receive a response back. So, I've not returned. read more

I highly recommend this shop! Everyone I interacted with at this location was very sympathetic to my situation. It was very easy to schedule appointments, and I really enjoyed working with Irene. She was very patient and kind! She kept me informed every step of the way and made sure someone experienced with Volvos worked on my estimate. In January of 2024, I picked up a beautiful Audi sedan which I love driving. A few months later, the day after we brought our second son home from the hospital, I was driving to the grocery store in Berkeley when a police cruiser sped through a red light at 50+mph. By the time I heard the siren, it was impossible to come to a stop and the front of my car hit the side of the police car. Thankfully my older son and I were safe and uninjured but this was a source of considerable stress to me. Geico contracts with Caliber Collision in Berkeley as a first party repair shop - which is literally a turnkey service - a blessing when you're wrangling two little kids at home. Geico arranged to transfer the car from the towyard to the shop, the shop provided an estimate and worked with Geico to get this approved. The repair took over a month, there was a lot of work to be done and a lot of parts to be replaced. Irene, my advisor at Caliber, did a fantastic job of keeping me informed of what was going on. There were a few false hopes towards the end as the car was close to being ready but quality issues were discovered and they had to replace them. When I first came to collect it, I was disappointed to notice several obviously wrong things (interior trim was incorrectly replaced, the Audi emblem they replaced was the wrong colour, there was some light paint damage from overspray). They corrected these and I came back to collect the car the following week. Unfortunately there were several follow ups - some of which were trivial things that should have been caught during the work itself, like the windscreen wipers not being correctly located and getting stuck on the edge of the windscreen. Others were harder, like a persistent warning message related to the left headlamp. Thankfully, Joanna, the manager, stepped in. If there is a single reason I would go back to this bodyshop, it is the quality of service she provided and the level of ownership she had for my car. She personally made sure to investigate each of the issues I raised, and followed up with Geico to ensure coverage. When our original rental coverage had ended, she worked with Geico to extend this. She also worked with Audi of Concord to get the more challenging headlamp issue resolved. Whilst I hope I don't have a reason to go back, I would heartily recommend this bodyshop if you ever have the misfortune to need it! read more

I was backing up and hit a pole. As you can see from the photo, it ended up really bad. That accident knocked off my front bumper, which left it barely holding onto my car. I immediately went to 3 places the next morning. The first place had told me the accident would cost me the estimate of $1,500-$2000k. I was really concerned as I am currently unemployed and I needed to pay out of pocket because my insurance is high. I went to a nice place named Henry Chin's Auto Care, who told me they weren't a body shop but they recommended me to the Caliber Collisions down Shattuck. I was concerned at first because as we got there, the space was very nice and organized. A well maintained and established business that intimidated me initially. We were immediately assisted, the receptionist gave me a warm greeting and looked at my car. She was very knowledgeable about cars herself. She passed me to someone who can look at my car and can gauge the fix and costs. While sitting in the waiting room, she made me and my friend feel welcomed. She offered us popcorn and coffee which comforted me while I waited for them to get back about the status of my car. We waited for about 20 minutes. When they returned to me and my friend I braced myself for the cost, instead they told me that I was good to go. My friend and I looked at each other really confused and shocked. He had told me they repaired my front bumper instead. I was so overwhelmed by their quick and quality work. I teared up as my car was fixed, which relieved me of so much stress. I am very grateful for the team at this Caliber Collisions, who genuinely care about the safety and concerns of their customers. I was a victim of a hit and run in a rear end collision. I've used this shop since it was called Shattuck in the past. It looks like Caliber Collision absorbed many shops recently but I decided to use this Caliber Collision also since I am familiar with it. I made an appointment to get estimated and was greeted by Mitch. He did the estimate and was able to get it repaired starting the next day. I has concerns about my ultra sonic parking sensors which may needed replaced and calibrated and Mitch took my concerns and assured me they can get it tested and checked. Caliber Collision does have a online notification where you can check on the status 24/7 which is a plus. I was notified by text it was ready. When I initially picked up the car, I had concerns. Now, people see their cars differently. Some people don't care about their cars, they trash it, doesn't care about cosmetics, etc. Then there are others, like me, who are very detail orientated and even to the point of obsession. I am a detailer on the side so I pay very attention to detail. Mitch and Jim (whom I have worked with previously), took my concerns seriously and agreed to get the repair a second time. Jim even paid for my rental car during this second time. Now, Jim should get an award for doing that, that is what service is! I was happy they agreed to take a second look, and Jim updated me when it was completed. After the redo, I was pleased with the results. Jim even told me he's a detailer also, so he understands my concerns. I have heard stories that other shops would not care about these simple things, since shops received referrals from insurance companies and they constantly receive work and they wont spend extra time to relook at a repair. Overall, I am very happy with the shop and with Jim and Mitch, who took my concerns seriously and their excellent service speaks volumes about their passion in the repair industry. They take pride in the work they do and they are proud of the results they give. This is missing in many repair shops in the repair industry. WORST experience ever! Never take your car here. I selected this business based off all the positive reviews it has and after my experience I am confident that all positive reviews must be FAKE! They were Terrible at communicating and sent me the wrong pictures of what was to be fixed. My car looks EXACTLY the same after I picked it up. Their only excuse was that they did sent picture, however the pictures they sent were not even remotely the request I asked to be fixed!!!!!! I have been going through with caliber collision for an ongoing repair. Turns out, the previous owner had not properly repair the car. I understand the unfortunate situation and the damage that is beyond what is initially expected. Jim has been very communicative and kind throughout this very stressful process. I appreciate his help very much, and I would return to this location if it was not for another employee there. His partner, Phil, who is also working on my car, gave me a very unprofessional, negative experience. Maybe he saw that I was young and inexperienced with cars, which made him feel comfortable to call me the day after I met with Jim, while Jim is out of the office, to repeat the information about the damage on my car and dump his complaints of the workload and my insurance onto me, a customer. He pressured me to make a decision about seeking payout for my car while I am still waiting to get more information from my insurance and Jim. During our conversation, I felt disrespected and very distressed as if this situation has not been stressful enough to my life. I do not question his skills and expertise; however, I do not appreciate his customer service. I will only return to this location because of Jim's excellent service, but I am unsure due to this experience I had with another employee. read more

A few years ago I used Caliber Collision at the corner of Claremont and Ashby, to fix the passenger side door damage. They were quick, efficient and their customer service and work on the door was above excellent. They had a very fair price and since I wasn't at fault, never saw a bill. They invoiced the other person's insurance directly (their car also sustained damage) and I know they also never saw the bill. A few weeks ago, the passenger side mirror on my very old car (2002 Honda CRV) was sheared off. Honda has discontinued making this part and trying to find a "certified by Honda" replacement is impossible. I bought an after market part that said it would fit and with fingers crossed called Caliber early this morning and they said to bring it in. They were incredible, again excellent work , excellent customer service all within an hour! I can't recommend this place highly enough. Thank you Caliber! read more

Somebody hit the side of my car while I was in a parking lot. Later I broke the driver side mirror. Downtown Subaru recommended this place. I am very glad I went here. This place is very clean and large. I dealt with Edgar. They did a great job fixing my car. The new mirror looks good. The entire side of my car that was scratched and dented looks brand new. They completed the job under their initial estimate, which included my additional damage to the car. They finished the car in seven days instead of the original nine days. They also cleaned the entire inside of my car before returning it to me. I hope I don't go back here but if my car is damaged again I will definitely come here. read more

500 miles from home in a Turo rental, the broken plastic liner of the front wheel well burned slowly against the tire on every left turn. Unable to make it home on right turns only, we made a desperate plea to the nearest body shop, which was this, Caliber Collision. They saw us immediately and within minutes a gentleman from the office, in slacks and a button down, was under the car. With strong clippers and a couple of zip ties he pulled the plastic forward, braced by the bummer. The rubbing was over and it was secure enough for the long drive home. The cost? We had scraped some paint off the front right side of the car during a side swipe against a building that left the building's paint in the scrape. I had previously taken the car to a body shop place and they wanted over $3,000 to fix it as they wanted to replace the bumper, headlight, 2 side panels and the side mirror - all kinds of things when we really only cared that aesthetically the side looked better (we can live with the slight dent the side swipe caused) and that we wouldn't get rust where the paint had been scraped off. I talked to Caliber's technician and then he used paint thinner to gently rub the paint off and advised me just to keep an eye on it for rust. He saved me thousands of dollars and it looks so much better. read more

They spent about 45 minutes patching it up so that it was in PEFECT condition to get back to LA. When I got back to LA I took it to a repair shop where they would have to do the major repair of replacing the fender and hood; they were very complimentary about the temporary fix that Caliber Collision did. A man greeted us warmly and quickly explained the estimate works. He took his paperwork and his camera and got started looking at the damage. Shortly after, he explained the damage and the estimate. He sounded like he really knows what he's doing. He was very accommodating and my experience was very pleasant. I recently had an minor collision with an object on the freeway asphalt that caused my tire to explode, the fender and bumper had damage. Caliber collision was quite responsive and got me in within 24 hrs for an estimate. The staff had excellent customer service, they answer the phone and are responsive.
