I've now brought Koehler three different repairs over the last two years. I really appreciate the open dialogue about how to minimize costs while maximizing results. All three repairs were done without insurance and Kurt was very sensitive to that. I appreciate the clear communications. In the first repair, Kurt on-the-spot bent a piece of metal away from interfering with the tire so it was safer for the few days before I could bring it in for a proper repair! This is the most terrible company. STAY AWAY! They had my car for nine days. When I picked it up it was filthy both inside and outside--with a bill of almost $2200. Where they repaired a quarter panel was streaked, because they never washed the car. This place has no pride in their work and it's disgraceful! Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere. read more

This place is terrific. My mother had backed into my car and wanted to have it fixed outside of billing her insurance. She got a quote from a friend/body shop owner near her house, but it was far away and I wanted to go near me. I went to Koehler's on my realtor's recommendation. Koehler came in slightly BETTER than her friend's low offer, was right on schedule with the work, dropped me off and picked me up at work twice... and did a flawless job! They told me what should be replaced, where I could get away with non-dealer part, etc. They were courteous and friendly. In fact they went beyond the call of duty. Rigo, the guy at the shop I interacted with, noted that I needed new wiper blades and offered to order them for me, then install them for me at no cost. He ordered them, called me, I came back, he replaced them. I also learned that Mr. Koehler, who owns the shop, treats his workers very well and brings them lunch pretty much every day. Had a great experience here. I paid cash for the repair, and got a great price quote from Kurt, which ended up being even lower than what the estimate was. I felt like I was dealing with professionals who gave me an honest and very fair estimate. I know nothing about cars myself, which didn't seem to matter here because everything was explained clearly and adequately enough for me in terms of what services were to be done. NO hidden charges or fees and I got a call promptly that my car was ready to pick up at the EXACT time that he had estimated, on top of the fact that they allowed me to leave the car there for no charge until I was able to come get it. Now for the paint. I had no idea what to expect since it looked pretty bad. I was amazed when I saw my car. It was flawless looking and obviously professionally done. There were two tiny issues that aren't major however. One, is the metallic black from toyota is the smallest difference than the paint that was put on on the door. Now Its understandable that the paint will never look 100% correct when it's repainted....I can't complain. The second item would have to be the tiny dots that the paint didn't quite grab when painted. Now when I say this, I mean literally tiny bead looking dots nothing major. You have to lean into it to even notice. Other than those two things listed above, for the price and customer service I give them 5 stars for sure. For their work I would give 5 stars, since the dent was repaired so well and car looked brand new after. Would definitely recommend. read more

When one of my old lady neighbors hit my parked car I simply was dreading dealing with it. But Kurt at Koelhers was recommended by my mom so I checked them out. I wanted to get my fender replaced with a pre-painted part that I bought from ebay (highly recommended, by the way). Koehler was recommended to me by a body shop that wasn't able to handle my request, and they quoted me about $80 less than the first place I went (one of the top-rated on Yelp). The final cost was even lower than the quote -- in the end, I saved 45% compared to the first place I got a quote from! I'm obviously very happy about the price (especially since it would have cost me $1000-$1400 to get a new fender, have it painted in the shop, and get the door blended). More importantly, my car looks great and you could never tell that I had to replace the fender. Plus, the repair was super quick: I took it in the same day I called and had it back in just a couple hours. A great experience overall -- quick, efficient, good quality, and cheap! read more

I drove my wheelchair too close to my parked van, and the wheelchair footplate created a long scratch on my van door. Koehler touched up the damaged area in just a few minutes for a great price ($50) and you wouldn't know the door had been scratched. Let me start off by saying that when it comes to my car, I'm not the most attentive owner. Someone knocked my driver side mirror off about 2 months ago and I've been driving around with it taped on ever since. In addition the front bumper was coming off due to being scraped on a parking bar. Needless to say my little Altima was not looking good. I'm on a real tight budget and was referred to Koehler after my usual mechanic said he couldn't glue the mirror back on for liability reasons. Boy am I glad I followed his advice. The guys at Koehler offered to screw the mirror back on which was fine with me since looks didn't matter much. They quoted me $20, had it done in 15 minutes, and fixed my bumper for free! I called asking for a quote how much it would cost for me to get my front license plate put on and was told $15. They put the plate on for me, and also gave me an estimate at my request to fix some paint damage on my bumper... Using a paint remover, they were able to remove most of the white paint that got onto my car. They said if I were still interested in getting the car painted, it would be approximately $300- most of the estimates I have gotten for this same job have been around $900. They weren't even going to charge me for putting the plate on. Until now, I've never left a dealership, garage, or auto body place feeling like I wasn't taken advantage of. These guys are great; I will be back and will refer everyone I know who needs work to go to them. read more

I wouldn't recommend this shop, my experience with them was not good. They overcharged on the repair, almost twice the initial verbal estimate and replaced parts that didn't need replacing. The work was good but there were too many issues I was not comfortable with. They took way to long to get the car back to me as parts had not arrived, and were not honest about when I would get the car. Then suggested I drive it around without the moulding while waiting. We're talking about a new car and an almost 5000$ repair. It was less than a half hour drive for them to go get the parts but this was their solution they preferred to wait for days until delivered to them telling me it wasn't there responsibility! So I took it to Infiniti of Marin to get it fixed... upon return of the car I noticed the bumper had extreme "orange peel". I took it into Koehler's and Rigo informed me that Infiniti of Marin attempted to re-use the same bumper and paint over it. I threatened Infiniti so they refunded me my money. I recently needed a mysteriuos water leak sealed on my car and quickly found out that not all shops are up to working with leaks. I was referred to Koehler by a highly regarded shop nearby. At Koehler I was given an estimate within 10 minutes one afternoon and brought my car back the next morning to have the work done. When I returned to pick up my car, the two men who worked on it were more than eager to relate all of the exciting details of the fix--it was clear that they truly know and love what they do. I ended up paying $20 over the estimate due to the complexity of the fix, but it was well worth it and guaranteed work. I have both dealt with Kurt several times for significant repairs of a Prius and a Mini. as has my son. Not only is Kurt (and his son - also named Kurt) incredibly personable (even offering quickie shop coffee and good talk) and patient in talking over what kinds of repairs are needed -- he's reasonably priced and really moves to get your car back to you. He's big on car advice, as well. You might well feel like you've met extended family after a few visits there.
