Today they fixed a problem for me for no charge while I waited (on a Saturday!), saying that since it only took a few minutes and a few screws and fasteners that they didn't feel right charging me. (I had hit the concrete block in the back of my parking space, throwing the bumper strip out of alignment.) I've used them before for repairs from a few different accidents over the 30 years that I've lived in Berkeley. My car got sideswiped, taking off the door handle and badly denting the passenger side. These experts helped obtain a door from a recycle yard that matched my car exactly except for the color. After they installed the "new" door, they color-matched the paint EXACTLY. Like the accident never happened. This was tough because the car is ten years old. Sun and other factors faded the original shade of midnight blue. They saved a little leftover paint for me to touch up minor scrapes and blems. Take your car here for body work. You won't be sorry. The other body shop told me that one of the replacement parts was going to be almost $70. David charged me $24 for the exact same part. The total cost of the repair was only $243 as opposed to $1000. A great experience from soup to nuts. I am in my 70's and have been accident free during my driving life (kudos to Berkeley High School driver's education). However I got into a minor fender bender at my local gas station on September 5, and needed to have my rear bumper and tail-light repaired/replaced. My first stop for an estimate was with David So at 101 Auto Body. He provided me a reasonable estimate and some great tips and advice, which I compared with a couple other estimates/advice other from auto body repair shops that I later visited. I ultimately took the vehicle into 101 Auto Body for repair and was provided an ETC on the repair. Not only was the ETC met with flying colors, but the work was excellent! My car was hit/vandalized, the bummer was hit a few days later and I sideswiped my neighbor's car (don't wear a COVID mask while driving) all in the same month. So they had a number of repairs to do. A big rig hit my silver 1990 Miata and entangled its wheel spokes into the rear side panel. Took my car in today for an estimate without an appointment & was greeted right away by a very nice man. I asked if certain things could be done because I couldn't afford all the damage at this time. Everything was explained in a very simple way that I understood & an estimate was given within my budget for minor body work (removing yellow paint) instead of paying for major body work (fix dent, buff & repaint). I had my Cadillac repaired by 101 auto body a couple of years ago and they did a great job repairing my car and I couldn't have been any more pleased with the results. So when I needed my truck repaired my one and only thought about who I wanted to fix my truck was 101 Auto body. When I spoke to Henry and he agreed to repair my truck I felt confident in the work that I needed would be repaired correctly and to my expectations. When Henry called me and told me my truck was ready to be picked up I had my wife give me a ride to the shop to get my truck. This is when I made my biggest mistake. I went in and paid my bill and got my truck and drove it away. On my ride home I discovered that the door on the passenger side had a wind noise passing by like they forgot to put the weather stripping back in the door. Also there was a run in the clear coat that was so obvious it was embarrassing. And the vent shade weather guard pieces had been broken off both sides of my truck. I have taken the truck back on two more occasions and they still haven't got it back to an acceptable level yet. After letting them attempt to fix my truck and the fact that I couldn't waste any more of my time I settled for the work they have completed I took my truck home and I won't take any more of my work back to 101 Auto in the future. I thought the guy I rescheduled with was named Alex. He said he rescheduled me. I went to go check in, The woman at the counter could not get the past the fact that there was no Alex working there. We've taken both our Chevy Volt and Honda Accord to 101 Auto Body on San Pablo in Albany. Both had substantial damage. Both were returned good as new. Our first experience was with out Honda Accord. On Saturday night, 1 Mar 2008, at midnight, we heard a loud POP coming from the street in front of our house. It was the sound of our 2006 Honda Accord being severely damaged by a hit and run driver. A police officer said that they had to be doing 35-40 MPH. We were certain that the car had been totaled. State Farm decided that the car could be repaired and referred us to 101 Auto Body in Berkeley. Returned again after a collision involving our Volvo V60. This time the work was quite challenging body damage, fortunately covered by our insurance. One part had to be be special ordered and took a week to arrive. 101 Auto Body gave an accurate and clear description of what was involved in the repair, fixed a few small things that allowed us to drive the car while we waited for the part to arrive, communicated clearly about the order, and fixed the Volvo so that the damage was completely repaired and there was no sign the accident ever occurred.
