Don't trust what they say! They told me it's gonna take 1-2 day to get the part for my car. After 4 days I called them and they told me it's going to take another 4-6 days. They don't work for the dealer so they can't control. I asked if this is something you can control then why can't you be honest at the beginning. I have lots of work to do everyday and I'm also a care giver. I don't have time for this. The guy over the phone was so rude said you can go to a dealer to get it yourself. I would not recommend anyone to this auto shop. I feel sad that the manager didn't respect my time and me as a customer. read more

Poor communication and customer service. They said they would call me but didn't. When I did, they said they are busy for my 10 min job. I called again next week and they again kept telling me they are busy. So I ended up just buying the part from them. It turns out the part was broken and they blamed it on me. I had cosmetic (per Honda) damage on the fender, but after 3.5 years I decided it should be made whole again (though the sight of it did keep other drivers a safer distance from my car). I chose two shops with many enthused Yelps and I liked the people at both right away. Both were decently priced and they were clear about what I wanted done and what I didn't need. No-nonsense, no-pressure people. But I chose 101 Auto Body because of its rep for fast service with excellent results, along with very decent pricing that was the lower of the two quotes. They replaced the fender, paint-matched and refinished it, and I cannot tell any difference from the rest of my car, partly because they matched the color so incredibly well and also washed it and vacuumed it inside though I didn't request it. It was like getting a new car back. They have a heavy flow of cars in there and yet were able to do this in two days. And both Mike and Henry were very pleasant to work with. They gave me a lift to BART after I dropped off the car (it's so strange to be car-less). When I picked up my renewed car, they said to be sure to call them if I found myself unhappy with any aspect of it and they'd work on it. But, I found nothing in the area worked on The car looks better than it has in years. Kudos to to them and to Yelp and its members. The office personnel are not masked until someone comes in the door and even then one of them doesn't mask but sits off to the back maybe 6 ft away. I wouldn't go back for that reason. Other than that the body work was good. read more

Everyone else leaving great reviews makes me feel like I'm in the minority but I had a fairly awful experience here. 1. They were busy which is fine, and they said they would call me within two weeks to schedule a time for me to bring my car in. Almost a month later no call, so I call them. 2. When I do finally get the car in they say most likely 2-3 days (dropped off on a Monday). I call Wednesday and they say it'll be done Friday I'm like ok sure. I get in Friday and it's not even completely done but I needed my car so I drive it off and have to come back in to get everything done another time. 3. They replaced a damaged bumper, and that's fine BUT in the process of replacing the bumper they broke the clasp for one of the fog lights on the front so it randomly pops out while driving and hangs there until I pop it back in but it doesnt stay cause the clasp is broken. I brought this up to the person when I brought the car in to get the original problem fixed and he said its fine its just how those are made which is just wrong. To further exacerbate this issue now the light doesnt work because of damage caused from it hanging. I'm simplifying the interactions slightly, there were many more instances of me calling to get any idea what was going on and them not being professional. The only star they get is for eventually solving the original problem and the free car wash. Basically, slow, bad communication, unreliable, and they left my car in a condition where I have to PAY to get it fixed elsewhere. read more

The work: I have a BMW 328xi that I am (extremely) neurotic about. My paint is a deep green mettalic and very tough to match. These guy's did an AMAZING job with the paint. Even the cuts and lines of my bumper look better. I also had them install a aftermarket bumper lip which looks incredible as well. Can't go wrong with this shop!!!!!! I've taken my 2014 Mazda to 101 Auto Body 3 times in the last 3 years and am about to take it to them for the fourth time. Living near Berkeley, with its tight parking spaces and bountiful cars, I've had car doors opened into my car a couple times, and I've also miscalculated when making tight maneuvers, myself....so...it's great to have a body shop that does excellent work (they are an approved AAA repair shop, too) and competitive, fair pricing. The owner and his team are unfailingly courteous, and it's super convenient to pull up right in front of the shop, park, and get an estimate in a few minutes. read more

OMG, what to say. These guys are my heroes. Seriously. You will remember that the Artful Dodger was rear-ended one Saturday afternoon not long ago... See my five-star review of ECPD (and Officer Chris Purdy) for a refresher course if you've forgotten... State Farm and Farmers worked out a settlement. The other driver was 100% at fault.........so...it was slam dunk that my car would be fixed. Right??? Hold it. The Artful Dodger may be the finest Caravan since GM came over on the Mayflower...but its bluebook just ain't that high. And if the damage to the car is 70% of the repair cost then the car is "totaled." You get a check in the mail... Or so I'm told. SO... I spent a fretful weekend worrying about my Artful. Was his old body gonna be declared DOA? (Art is a guy...your car may be a girl...but my car is a guy..........get it?) Was the Dodger going to be shipped out to the glue factory? I didn't want money. I didn't want another Caravan...I just wanted my faithful companion back to haul trees, dogs, odd objects from Urban Ore. Made it clear to anyone who would listen. I just wanted Old Blue Boy back. David and Henry at 101 AUTO BODY heard me. Said the damage to my car was less than 70% of the value of the car. Said...they would do the fixing. I picked up the Artful Dodger today. Beautiful! Totally cleaned inside and out. Sporting a new bumper and taillight. Looking like Secretariat coming out of the gate. A real winner.... So thank you 101 Autobody...I'll be back. Meanwhile...I've got to take the dogs to UCDavis, pick up a tree or two. Maybe buy a clawfoot bathtub from Urban. I actually went to 101 because of the positive Yelp reviews, but I would tend to agree with Allan M. While I did get the car back in the timeframe promised, the work done left something to be desired. I took my BMW there after a rear-ender to get my rear bumper and left fender repaired. Since it was going to be in the shop, I decided to get my hood repainted as well as get some minor door dings repaired. The accident repair was taken care of by insurance ($1,700); the additional work was quoted at $1,800. After picking up the car, I noticed that the some of the additional work promised was not done. Additionally, the car continued to scrape whenerver I went through any type of dip in the road. It appeard that they replaced the bumper, but did nothing to repair the damage to the shocks. Plus, as in Allan M's situation, there did appear to be additional scratches on the car. When I brought this to their attention, they said to bring the car back and they would take care of it. While they fixed the scraping problem and attempted to fix some of the promised dimples/scratches, I am now left with a car with significant overspray on both the body and windshield. When I run my hand over the fininsh, it feels like fine grit sandpaper rather than "smooth like butter." At this point, I've given up as it I just don't think they are capable of performing satisfactory work. If your car is your "baby" you definitely don't want to take it to 101. read more

I took my car here a few months ago after I was rear ended into a huge pick-up truck because of the excellent reviews. They were very honest about their quote, prices and even worked with the other insurance companies to make sure their estimate matched on the real costs of parts and labor. And then I got my car back... The first time I didn't get more than 5 miles down I-80 when the engine overheated and broke down on the freeway because a coolant tube FELL OFF while driving. The second time I got my car back I noticed the craftsmanship on the parts they replaced was horribly low. I paid a ton for authentic factory replacement parts. But the bumper, side panels, doors don't line up, have horrible spacing and look like cheap imitation parts. A plastic frame on the edge of one of the doors was literally peeling off. I had to complain and they took it back inside to try to stick back on. Completely fed up I accepted the car not to see the nice thick dried paint drip running down my front passenger door until I got back home. Having already spent a fortune on a rental car with the extra week to re-repair the car, I couldn't even afford to take my car back. Do not go here! My horrible experience cost me a ton and my car looks like a joke. If you care about your car, take it anywhere but here! read more

This place is a joke. There isn't any customer service here. I went there twice to get my mirror fix on my VW. When I went there first time, a guy was on the phone a long time and didn't bother to ask why I was there and didn't apologize me for the long time waiting. He said he will call me for estimate later, but he never called me for a week. So I called them a week later and went there again. I showed the damage of my car to someone else (david?) and arrange for the repair for the following week. When I called them, he said, the new part is not ready because he needed the vehicle bin number to match the color. ( why didn't you call me sooner for the bin number) They are acting like they are doing favor on me. So I went somewhere else who actually appreciate my business. read more

This shop was recommended by Co worker and as long it's under your auto insurance referring range. Ask to speak with David. He was able to get my Highlander in Right away, parts was order the next day. Keeping me posted. It was ready to be pick up in 1 week ( exclude Holidays) as promised. After driving with severe body damage for almost 2 years because I couldn't afford to pay my deductible, I FINALLY was able to get the car fixed. Goodness. I went to the AAA office on University Ave. to find out about my insurance, etc. The guy there recommended 101 Auto. I had my doubts. I thought, hmm, maybe they get special commission for each AAA customer they get to use their approved body shops. I don't know, I guess I just don't trust corporations. Anyway, I got a couple of estimates and I decided to go with 101, because they are AAA approved and I knew it'd make the insurance paper work go through faster, etc. etc. So--- O, M, and G. My car, my car, my sweet little damaged car looks new again! Amazing, simpy amazing work. The folks there couldn't be nicer & they finished the work in the right amount of time, as estimated. I've now been to 101 twice, and both times were great experiences. A couple of years ago my wife's BMW was rear-ended and 101 fixed it right up. Then last weekend, some a-hole broke off the driver-side rear view mirror of my Subaru. I dropped off a replacement for painting late on Monday, and I get a call on Wednesday morning that it's ready for pickup. They even went the extra step installed it for free while I was paying the bill. Of course it isn't a tough job and only took a few minutes for a pro to do it, but what great customer service. That saved me an hour of goofing around at home pulling out tools and trying to recall how everything fits together. I can definitely recommend this business. read more

Sado and his team at 101 Auto Body did a great job handling the repair of our car after it was hit while parked in front of our house. One a several shops listed with our insurance carrier, I checked Yelp, and based on prior, recent reviews, called 101. Sado had a tow truck to our house within an hour. The damage was pretty significant (broken front axle, control arms, front fender, etc.) Sado committed to using all new, dealer parts, and dealt with some insurance company challenges on that point. On a leased, 2008 Audi, we appreciate his approach and commitment. The work was done ahead of schedule, with minimum inconvenience (from 101; can't say the same for the local& Hertz office). The car looks great, drives as well or better than before, and didn't require much effort from us. Definitely consider 101 Auto Body on San Pablo if you find yourself in need of auto body work. read more

Sometime bad things happen...like getting a ding on your car door while parking on the street...but then good things also happen...like finding good and knowledgeable guys who can fix the ding. The 2 guys who run the shop know more about Subaru parts than my insurance assessor. Though they do get busy and sometime you gotta call to follow up if they don't actually get back to you when they said that they would. Henry at US101 Auto Body was so great to work with. He cares and knows what his shop is capable of. I brought my car in on a Saturday as they are one of the only shops open. I got several estimates from other area shops during the week and everywhere I went, they told me I needed a new bumper, it wasn't repairable. So, $1350 was the lowest quote I got for replacing the bumper. Estimators make $ on high dollar quotes and told me it was impossible to bang out this bumper. I'm sure they assumed insurance $, but I was paying cash. They didn't even ask which it was in the other shops. I believe US 101 is Henry's own shop. Henry said they could pound it out and repaint it for $550 and it is invisible. I made a 2 day appointment and it was ready on time as promised and looked factory perfect. He is about the nicest guy I met in the auto world, I really appreciate the service and professionalism. read more
