A good body shop should show attention to detail and integrity. In my opinion, this shop has…read moreneither. I chose this Caliber location on Shattuck in Berkeley because of its strong reviews, but my experience was very disappointing. After having my SUV for more than two weeks, they missed a large, obvious scratch less than 10 inches from an area they had just painted. It was not included in the insurance claim, and I was never notified. I would gladly have paid out of pocket to have everything done at the same time. Equally concerning, I dropped off my SUV with 11% of its fuel remaining. Although the odometer showed only one additional mile, the tank was completely empty when I picked it up. My car rolled to a stop on the property, and I had to call AAA for a gallon of gas. It appears that fuel was siphoned from my vehicle while it was at the shop. If attention to detail and your vehicle's safety matter to you, I would strongly discourage using this location. I hope this review gives future customers the warning I wish I had.

Need to especially acknowledge all the professional and kind help received from Lupe. She was patient and understanding with me during my multiple calls as I was traumatized by the accident and the frustration of getting inadequate response from my insurance rep. She provided a lot of helpful info and took over and dealt with them in getting my deductible waived and resolving the claim. If I ever have another auto body issue, and my car seems to be a magnet for nitwits, I'm heading directly to Husteads.

Berkeley Auto Body is one of our insurance companies' options for car repair and, given their Yelp reviews, we went with them. In both cases, they were very responsive, completed the work quickly (and well!) and also communicated well throughout the process. The intake process for the car was easy and thorough - Lupe took a ton of pictures to document the damage and also walked me through the damage she could visually see and where they would be looking more closely for more substantial damage. Everybody at the shop is very professional and friendly. I appreciate that they are responsive both via phone and email.
