Ordered the bacon cheeseburger with fries and drink. Shared some zucchini with a friend. The food was alright, but definitely nothing to write home about. Not sure what they put in my cheeseburger, but it looked like a large piece of uncooked meat. Didn't resemble bacon at all. Was afraid to try it. Also the dining room was dirty. Not worth my time & money. Will not be returning. read more

Five Star Burger Modesto - This was the bacon that came with my bacon cheeseburger. Did not look like bacon to me. Didn't even try it. - Burgers Near Me - Modesto, California

So I love mom and pop burger joints. Here in modesto we have quite a few. M.O.A.B.S in my opinion is one of the best. When I saw that this place was being built I got pretty excited. It finally opened and my wife and I decided to give it a go. Here's what we ordered and here's my review. I ordered the #9 double double bacon cheese burger. She ordered the #12 teriyaki chicken burger. We got onion rings, fried mushrooms and her meal came with crinkle cut french fries. She got cherry Pepsi to drink I got diet Dr pepper. REVIEW. her burger was quite nasty. The "chicken" patty was spongy like a fake chicken nugget. It came with some shredded lettuce and one small tomato. It came with some sort of very salty teriyaki(ish) sauce and it was drenched in it. My burger wasn't bad. It wasn't great but not bad. The bacon was a little limp. I think the patties could of been hotter. They didn't taste fake or frozen. My veggies were nice. Our sides(fries, onion rings & mushrooms) were pretty gross. They all came from a plastic bag and we're thrown into the fryer. Even though they were all deep fried they still came out not so warm. The onion rings were those fake spongy ones you get at burger king. The mushrooms were crispy on the outside and cold in the middle. And the fries were a mixture of old and fresh fries. My Dr pepper was watered down tasting but my wife said her cherry Pepsi was just fine. The restaurant on the inside is pretty run down. They never changed any of the seating area from the original Marias Taco Shop. The tables were all dirty and covered with old food and the floors were littered with garbage and old food. I heard numerous customers saying how nasty it was inside. Overall, for what we got and what we paid. My wife and I could go to moabs or farmer boys and pay maybe 4-5 bucks more and get incredible food. Needless to say we won't be going back. It sucks because I love these types of burger joints but I don't see them lasting very long. read more

We're to begin. Our first time here and will never be coming back. We were charged $10.00 for a large drink. We did get our $9 back. My husband found a hair in his hamburger. They remade it. The inside is dirty and tweekers hanging out inside and out. The food is nasty. My son's corn dogs we old hard and cold. My deep fried mushrooms were soggy. I hate to see what the cooking area looks like. We just wasted money and walked out hungry. If you have a 5 start name you better be 5 star. This place don't even deserve 1 start. Sham on me for not going to Rockin B's. Rockin B's is number 1. read more

Five Star Burger Modesto - Would you eat rotten avocado on your hamburger? Well this is what came on my #5. This place need to be shut down. - Burgers Near Me - Modesto, California

I found this place online. I ate there once and now Im in love i just love there food.they do take some time making the food but it's sooo worth the wait read more

My daughter and I stopped at Five Star Burger today as we were driving by and we were surprised at how good the food was. We ordered the Double Star Burger, a BBQ sandwich and an Oreo Shake. Everything was delicious and the sandwiches were huge. The interior is a bit dingy and a couple of booths were closed because of a broken window but the food made up for the lack of ambience. Overall, we were very pleased with the meals. read more

I only gave 3 stars because I placed a internet order from there own website. When I got there. They had no idea about a internet order. The cook did. He had the order ready. How do you not know you have a internet ordering system. When it's right in front of you. The burgers were good but because of the front counter not knowing about there internet ordering system was crazy. I'm almost 60 and placed the order. The front counter lady looked like she was 20 at most and had no idea about it. My hats off to the cook. He was the only one that did the right thing read more

OMG... Favorite burger place in Modesto EVER the meat had great seasoning , as well as their French fries!!! Try the fried okra and halepeno poppers !!! They're to die for ! Def a hangover relief for those of you that heal with some good food ! read more

After 19 min in the drive through i finally got to the window where I waited another 5 minutes. 2 girls were standing by the front counter talking, never once even acknowledged i was there. I finally just drove off. read more

I don't normally have a complaint but the drive through experience last night was a bit rough, ordered a double star meal with no ketchup, got the meal but the burger didn't have anything on it. Only bun, cheese, meat. No condiments, or any other toppings. Of course this wasn't discovered until It got home. A reminder to double check the order that was the driest burger without mayo or mustard. read more

This place is so disorganized I specifically asked for sauces and how many and my food came before my drinks and my drinks I waited for a significant time when they should've handed the drinks out upon taking the money and I never got my sauces plus they've taken the phone off the hook! I'm pissed off I won't eat my food now and I cannot call them it's like they know they messed up I'm pissed and will NOT be returning read more

I waited to post my review until after I'd eaten, even though I had more than enough time to get it done while waiting in the drive through. only car. burger, fries, soda. 23 minutes later I was handed a basic burger and a stack of cold fries. nope. read more

Friendly staff. Employee hygiene is questionable. Long wait time. Saw some flys landing on the food in the kitchen. Food items are either pretty good or not good at all, no In between. Long wait time. Place would do a lot better if it was remodeled in my opinion. Did I mention long wait time? read more

Tried this place over the weekend, and it was pretty good. On the plus side, the burger was huge, and the prices are cheap. On the other hand, the burger patties are obviously previously frozen, and the fries are the same exact frozen fries I buy and cook at home. This place is good if you're hungry and want to fill up for cheap. Five Star Burgers is on par with most fast foods, so if you're happy with fast food quality, you'll be happy here. read more

This review is about a month late, I am on a quest to find a great burger stand and this is it - Five Star Burger - like the rating. I went through the drive-thru. Quick to take the order and to answer a few questions - very polite. Once to the window greeted nicely, got my bag of goodness. The burger is not thrown in a bag it is in a Styrofoam box and placed nicely. The crinkle cut fries were awesome and not soggy. The burger was awesome , everything about it makes it a great burger. It was not over priced and was a great value. I will be back for sure. If anyone is wondering I would have waited 20 minutes for this burger its that good. read more

The burger was good. The fries were okay. They were crisp and limp fries. The price was good. The decor is dated.

I like this place! Anything local always has my vote. The burgers are always good. The $5 box is totally worth the money.

Food is amazing. Burgers are perf...ice cream is perf....I adore their chicken strip basket. Owners are awesome! Order their milkshakes...bomb! read more

When 5 Star first opened, they had excellent service & food, sadly they have progressively gone done hill. I preordered a combo, went to go pick up, then they started the order. Half an hour later the food was ready. I'll stick to In-N-Out, they're consistent in good food & service, they're worth the wait. read more

Just ordered pastrami sub, used to to be so good but not sure what happened. The pastrami had no flavor. The onion rings changed also, used to be really good. Less quality food for the same old price. read more

The most. Amazing place to eat must try food. I sadly if. You can make a good burger. They. Can cook its like. If you fuck up a burger. You should not ck. read more

I love this place! Everything on the menu is good! My personal favorite is the the philly cheese cheese sandwich and fruity pebbles shake!! that's some next level deliciousness!!! I'll take a pic next time read more

This is the best god damn burger I've ever had. The only one I can speak on is the 5 star burger. Never needed to try anything else because this burger is so . Burger is huge, ingredients are the freshest I've every tasted on a burger. Don't eat this on your lunch break because your body will wreak of onions and pickles because of how fresh they are. I'm not complaining about it though. I'm pretty sure they grow the ingredients in the back or something that's how fresh they are. The price is also unbeatable. Huge burger, fries and a drink for 10 bucks. Can't beat it. Simply can't beat it. I've considered telling the chefs how much I appreciate them, but didn't wanna sound like a weirdo. Fries are hit and miss but it truly doesn't matter because the burger makes up for it. Building isn't the most esthetically pleasing, but who goes to a burger joint to enjoy the scenery?? 11 out of 10 easy. Order the 5 star burger with extra sauce read more

This restaurant is amazing. I've visited this location three times now since I was introduced to it by a friend, and every single time I've been served by an exceptionally friendly staff. The inside is clean and also has great air conditioning to provide relief from the hot weather while you eat. Next, the variety on the menu is large and diverse enough that anybody should be able to find an item to chow down on and enjoy. Finally, the food I have tasted up to this point has been delicious, and I will probably be a regular customer from now on. - P.S. - (Way better than standard fast-food fare such as McDonalds, which I personally find disgusting). read more

Absolutely amazing food! Chicken strips for me! My husband got the number 10 mushroom Swiss burger! And a fruity pebble shake! Seriously great! I and very friendly!! Excited to come back! Date night place for sure! read more

First time here. Had two lettuce wrap number 1. Unbelievable. The meat patties where premium. The produce on the burger was fresh and didnt taste like the reefer. Far better than In and Out. Customer service was excellent along with the meal. I will always come back. read more

I like the blt sandwich cheese fries and the handburger and also the cheese sticks and the fish and chips and the shrimp plate

as far as I'm concerned, this is one of (very few in this area) the best places for a honest, real ooey-gooey loaded to the gills hamburger. Their hand made shakes are the best, and if you don't want a hamburger, their grilled cheese sandwich is another favorite of mine. Their drive through is slow, but that's to be expected because nothing's pre-made like that of the chain owned fast food joints. read more

Waited in the drive thru for over 30 minutes. I was the only customer there. The time in my receipt is 12:45 and I left at 1:20. I ordered 2 burgers and one spicy chicken sandwich, even making them fresh, it shouldn't take 30 minutes. The food was okay, just an average burger. They really need to work on their speed and customer service. read more

This is my favoooorite burger place. The meat is always perfectly seasoned and cooked. The wait is definitely worth it. This is always me and familys go to place to go when we want a burger. read more

They have great food, it's fresh and hot and we finally found a place that makes the jalapeno poppers that my sister just loves. My only problem is that they don't have someone to clean the tables. The few staff that I did see were very busy, so it was not like they were being lazy, they just did not seem to have the time. We will be back because of the food and the staff were very friendly. read more

I wish I could give this place 5 stars because I love the food and there's nothing wrong with it at all. It's just that today me and my boyfriend decided to come here for lunch because we wanted to treat ourselves to something nice which we rarely do. And we tried ordering 2 orders of the number 1 combo..both large but one with curly fries and we wanted it to go. Not so hard to understand am I right? But when I received it he gave it to me on a tray at first so I asked for it to go. Then we left and went home. Then I didn't realize they only gave me two patties instead of three after I only took two bites of it. Then I looked at my boyfriends meal and it also only had two patties but he hadn't eaten any yet. And also before I took a bite of my burger I saw they gave me a medium fry..which I didn't mind too much so I just ate them and then proceeded to eat my burger. And my boyfriend decided to call them and they basically said there's nothing they can do because I had already taken two bites of my burger. Which is understandable..but they wouldn't even remake my boyfriends meal which wasn't even touched. The 'manager' there also didn't give us a receipt or tell us our order number. Just very rude and unprofessional. If we end up going there again I'll be sure to tell the person taking my order to go over our order like three times before they charge us. read more

I have tried but I am not satisfied that is it halal or no because it does not say any where on there menu Or in there restaurant I am confuse read more

$18 & some change for two burger meals. One was a Western Bacon & the other was a Pastrami burger. Service was decent, food was hot, but the place could be cleaner. The burgers are most likely frozen and cooked on the griddle & are also frozen crinkle cut. They were just OK. If you want a hot fresh burger made with fresh ground beef and fresh produce for a couple of dollars less, go to Lula's on Yosemite Blvd in Empire. Lula is super sweet too! read more

I love this place! I work nearby and come here for lunch sometimes. The food is always fresh and is always ready on time to pick up when i call it in. I always get the mozarella sticks and the cheese fries & they're always perfect! They also have the best ranch. The burgers are good too! read more

Expect a delicious ranch! I'm very picky with my ranch and if you're looking for good ranch you have to come here! Makes the fries so much better! The prices are good and the food is yummy! read more

Good enough food. Service however needs significant improvement. Ordered food online. Told us to wait 30 mins so we did. My husband went to pick up food and he ended up waiting another 30 mins at the store. People came in and ordered food at the restaurant and were in and out faster than my husband was. Food was cold and we were missing items in our order. Called the restaurant and they said we can come pick up hot fries but at that point it was just not worth it. read more

Do not eat at this place if you're in any kind of a hurry they constantly make me late on my lunch break from work even if I call my order in in advance it will not be ready and when I get there I'll be waiting on it even though there is nobody else there but me no one in line very unprofessional read more

Food was great. Was my first time. I wish the cashier wasnt rude but it was overall a great experience.

Ok. Yeah. The menu is huge. And it has a little wear (I like to say "lived in"). BUT COME ON! The food is great. And I like the fact that there is a larger selection. The "simple menu" thing has been done to death. Fried mushrooms, fried pickles? Awesome! Every time I come here the service is good and the staff is friendly. Its one of those places that sure, you look at it and see some potential improvements. But, in my opinion, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. I love this place. read more
