Meh. That's about the best I've got to say about this place. Heard great things and was excited to try it - plus, I had just gotten out of the gym when I went in (and off of a heavy squat program), so I was HUNGRY. I ordered a big cheeseburger and big bacon cheeseburger (2 patties each) and fries. The burger was just meh. Nothing special. Seasoning was OK, flavors were OK, fries were OK. Nothing memorable. For a $24 tab, I was expecting more. I probably won't be back any time soon. This place has not really figured out how to operate in a pandemic. They've changed their online ordering system several times so it has been confusing as to what the customer is supposed to do when arriving at the restaurant. They put one person out on front of the counter and sometimes they acknowledge the customer and sometimes they don't. As best I can figure it out, you are supposed to tell the guy out in front of the counter, your name and that you're there to pick up your online order. When your order is ready someone else yells out your name. That employee may or may not be the same one giving you the order. It seems like no one really knows what they are supposed to be doing. On my last trip I followed their procedures and they gave my order to some random guy that was obviously waiting to steal someone's order in the chaos. He beat me to the counter and after they gave my order away I gave them my name and then they asked me to prove it was my order with the receipt while the guy with my food made his getaway. They remade my order quickly but I feel like next time I'll be expected to fight for my food. read more

I went to my first Five Guys in Cinncinnati and at one point, I was the only customer in there. It was nice and quiet. This Five Guys is LOUD! The clerks are screaming at each other. I'm not sure if that's like a Five GUys thing or a Reno thing, but I'm guessing at a busy Five Guys they scream at each other kind of like a dinner theatre thing. I'm sorry but I like to dine in peace. Simply get take out. THere is no drive thru, probably bc it takes longer to grill each burger which is a good thing. Once again, Reno Yelpers complain about the price. Oh go f off, seriously. You get what you pay for. If you want a cheap pink slime burger loaded with filler, go to McDonalds. Jeez louise Reno. It tastes better because it costs more for quality ingredients!!!!! The burger is like the one in Cinncinnati, very tasty and I avoid lettuce and tomatoes and get extra cheese to make it one big, fat mushy gooey fun for the mouth. I rate this the best "fast food" burger. The best burger I ever had was in LA called Umami Burger. When that comes to Reno I will seriously just drop a load in my pants. The free peanuts are a cute addition, but nothing is free. I hate to think I'm paying 25 cents more for my burger to allow some lardo to eat a pound of peanuts. read more

Solid place for a greasy burger. My coworkers and I get to-go orders occasionally for lunch, and our orders are always spot-on, which gives them 4 stars instead of 3. I have to be careful with the bag because the grease from the fries soaks through. I enjoy the fries though and recommend the cajun seasoning. Recently I have been ordering my burgers with lettuce wraps, and on my last visit, it seemed like they just stuck small pieces of lettuce around the meat and toppings. To be fair, I get a lot of toppings, which makes it messy regardless, but it's hit or miss how well it's wrapped. Maybe it's a sign that I shouldn't try to make my burger healthy. ;) On my last trip I got a malted milk milkshake, which was tasty, but a little pricey for what you get. Although there are other places I prefer for a burger, this a quick and convenient place that is sure to fill you up. And if not, the unlimited peanuts will do it! read more

I'll give it 4 stars instead of 3 simply because they cooked my husband's burger without leaving pink in the middle, which seems to be a common occurrence for him (and why he no longer eats at INO). Anyhow.. Online ordering is awesome, and I was able to "schedule" my order ahead of time since I ordered at like 10:30am before they were even open. I was able to pay online as well. My only concern is I was not asked for any proof that it was me - no showing the card to confirm the last 4 digits or anything. The burger, as stated above, was well cooked. The bun is nothing special. The plethora of toppings and combinations more than makes up for the lacking bun. They also numbered our burgers so I could look at the receipt and look at the numbers on the burgers - no opening each one and playing "guess who's burger I've got". That's nice when you've got 4 small cheeseburgers and two of them are for small beasts clawing at you due to imminent starvation. The fries. Ugh. I will never order them again. Holy mother of god they are greasy, and they weren't even cooked all that well. So pretty much a greasy pile of mush. Maybe I got a bad batch, but my husband had the cajun fries before and said they were only cooked slightly more. The price for 4 small cheeseburgers and 1 large fry - $26 even. The soda dispenser is pretty awesome... BUT... it's not so awesome that I'm going to spend just over $7 for 3 small drinks. So in all today 5 Guys took $33 from me, which is a little more than I want to pay for a quick burger on a regular basis to be honest. I will go from time to time when I want a decent burger with options I can't find at other places around here (sorry FatBurger, you didn't blow my skirt up at all). If I'm looking for decently cooked fries, and a quick burger I'll swing by INO and be sure to ask for my burger well done. Also I will agree about the music level and yelling, and there were only about a dozen customers in the lobby/dining area. This place is a three star restaurant for numerous reasons, and I won't break any new ground with pithy comments, they've all been said already, and some are funny as well as spot on. So, Yes, I too prefer In & Out, Little Nugget, Awful Awful, and most any sports bars burgers (Bully's, Sparky's, Moxie's, etc) For a 10 spot I can get decent burgers and fries all over town that are easily on par with 5 guys, and have way better ambience! I finally had Five Guys in my mouth. I'd been hearing that Five Guys was the best most amazing ever so we had to give it a try. I liked that there are peanuts as a little snack and something to do while you wait. Peanuts are lovely. I like the simple menu. Even my kids couldn't take a year to decide. Spoiler alert: we all had burgers. I had mine with everything. I liked it. It was a nice burger. The bottom bun fell apart a bit, I'm guessing because of the "everything" being a bit damp (as in... greasy. mmmm, I like grease) so it was a wee bit messy. Ok, a lot messy. Ok, I had burger juice dripping from my elbows. Quite literally, I am why we can't have nice things. I liked that the onions are grilled. I like that they have mushrooms. However, the meat was bland! That saddened me. Seasoning up that meat would have made a world of difference. The fries are very good and they have malt vinegar on the counter so obviously they've been reading my diary. Love me some malt vinegar on fries. And they have one of those cool soda machines that does all the different flavors, those are cool. On the whole, the food was good. Not great. My wife and I each ordered cheeseburgers, small fries and small fountain drinks- $31.28 with taxes. It's fun to come here. I like it when they yell about someone coming through the door when I enter the building. The gal at the register smiles and asks me if I've been here before, to which I reply, "no, it's my favorite place and I'm craving a burger tonight." I usually get the little hamburger with my choice of toppings and my daughter likes to get their hot dog with light ketchup, and we share a little order for their Five Guys Fries. I actually prefer the cajun flavored fries, but my daughter is not a fan of anything spicy, so I passed this time. We treated ourselves to their fun and high tech 100 choices soda machine. If you're a fan of 'suicides', you're going to have way too much fun playing with the buttons on this puppy. My favorite is the caffeine free diet coke with cherry flavoring, topped off with some raspberry flavoring. And my daughter likes to grab peanuts while we wait for our number to be called. While we were eating our grub, a gal I assumed was the night manager came by our table and inquired if everything tasted good and if we needed anything. For a little fast food joint, it was nice to have this added touch of servcie. Also, it seems that the workers are fairly diligent at keeping the tables wiped down and the floor swept. My daughter remarked at how clean the place seemed to be. The great food and those 'small things' will keep me coming back, and telling all my friends where to go to get a great burger. read more

I would have given this place 3.5 stars but since that's not an option I rounded up to 4 to be nice. The atmosphere was good, the yelling from their crew can be a bit much but nothing unbearable and all the employees act like they actually enjoy working there, one employee was even rocking out to the music the store was bumping while calling out order numbers which I think added a nice touch. Their food was was give and take, my meat patty was a small scrawny little guy that barely had any flavor and the bun tasted like it was bought from the same supplier Burger King uses however the bacon and produce they used was pretty awesome. Actually the bacon was probably the most redeeming quality on my burger the produce a close second. Finally their Cajun fries could have used a little more Cajun and a little less salt but hey were in Reno so who is going to be that concerned over the cajuness of their fries. I've been to Five Guys in Pennsylvania and over the hill in the People's Republic of California. The Reno Five Guys meets expectations -- a bit on the expensive side but a good once-in-a-while change of pace from In-N-Out or Carl's Jr. Pretty much like going for an Awful-Awful. But . . .NO MILK SHAKES??? I say again, "NO MILK SHAKES???" This burger deserves better than just soda pop from the post-mix machine. Really, folks, NO MILK SHAKES?????????? The burger-a double bacon cheeseburger- was bland and tasteless, not to mention way over priced for what you got, and the fries were totally GROSS! I liked it! I personally dig the white porcelain/shiny chrome look of old diners like 5 Guys and Steak and Shake, so the ambiance got a point just by walking in the doors. The menu is simple, but effective and able to be customized. I like that all the burgers cost the same and their generous selection of toppings are all made-to-order. We went in at lunchtime on the first snow of the year and found it to be pretty full. The staff was ridiculously friendly, greeting everyone who walked in or left as a team - a very open and inviting environment. The bags of potatoes laying around wound up being some perfectly cooked home fries. The burger was super tasty (jr bacon cheese with lettuce, grilled mushrooms and A1). My friend got a jr bacon cheese with lettuce, mustard, katsup, grilled onions and jalapenos. We devoured them in moments. Not too hard on the budget, which is great for near gourmet diner food. The fact that you can order online is really nice too. Something to keep in mind when I'm rushed for dinner for the kiddo and out shopping. The fancy schmancy soda fountains were pretty cool - many of your favorite sodas can be had with flavor shots - like Vanilla Barq's root beer, or raspberry ginger ale. Also - FREE PEANUTS! How can you possibly screw up the great American hot dog?? Five guys can....the manager must be from Mars. Like most lousy fast food chains,the warming drawer strikes again and why would a burger shop without a drive through.....feel the need to serve food in less than 3 minutes.....I don't know. I like it! I was reading the reviews and was very surprised with all the "expensive" reviews. The regular bacon cheesburger costs 7.59. That's for TWO patties and unlimited toppings (bacon is +0.50$, eveything else is free). I would not call that a bad deal. There are no bun and lettuce wrap options. While I was disappointed that the on-line ordering did not work, I was happy with the burger. It was juicy, the toppings were fresh. Also the variety of toppings is really nice. The french fries were very good. Not sure why so much salt, but the cajun seasoning is awesome. Also 1 5guys regular fries = 2 x Regular fries elsewhere. I will eat there again :) read more

Went there about an ago for the first time and let me tell ya... they're too expensive for the size of burgers they sell. Everything you get in the bag is super greasy. Now.... I know... it's a fast food joint with deep fried goodies and what not, but I'm not kidding when I share with you that it's all SUPER greasy. All the grease from where they cook the patties, the bacon, the onions, the mushrooms, the hotdogs, etc. ends up on the buns, because the buns are heated over this greasy surface. They burned the fries and one customer asked for new ones and the employee immediately took it out on the guy flipping the burgers. Funny thing is that this guy that was trying to blame the other employee was sagging - his pants below the middle of his entire buttocks area. Plus, he had so much facial hair and this big weave-like thing going on with his head. They should look into hairnets so they don't end up contaminating the food this way. Honestly, biggest thing for me is the price - very expensive. I paid 8.79 for just one bacon cheeseburger and had to pay for the fries separately. Also paid 7.79 for one regular cheeseburger and the fries were not included with that. One fountain drink and BAM 27.45. lol. Worst service I have ever gotten!! I ordered online it said it would be ready at a certain time I go 5 mins after and it's still not ready and they do not even have my order or name or anything. Spend 5 mins looking but don't come and tell me anything at all! It took it out of my bank account so she took my order I come back 10 mins later they give me my burgers but my not fries I stand at the counter they all stare at me, all keep looking at me but not one person says anything until someone brings shakes to someone else. I ordered a smaller hamburger, but apparently that just means you get (only) 1 patty of meat...regulars all come with two!! Grab plenty of napkins because this is one messy meal. I love how you can add any and all fixins free of charge! It's clean, great for family eating and staff are super friendly. Seriously the guy at the register was ear to ear. Wait time wasn't super long, but I wouldn't recommend eating it in the car simply for the fact that the juiciness of the meat and fixins get all over the place. I think that the concept is great. Unlimited toppings on a base priced fresh off the grill burger. Fresh food, produce, etcetera is wonderful. The staff was nice. Went to five guys with three gals and we each got a burger and shared a large order of fries. This place is definitely way pricier than in-and-out and about the same quality of food. I had a lettuce wrapped burger which was good but very hard to eat, considering they were out of plastic ware and it was falling apart. The fries were really good and fresh cut, which I appreciate. Our large cup of fries was actually more like 2 large cups because the bag they came in was overflowing. Between the three of us, we couldn't finish them all. One of my gal pals had a soda and was excited by their techy soda machine with tons of options. Overall, it was a good meal. Will I be back? For the second day in Reno, not too bad. We like Five Guys, as far as chains go, they are pretty stellar. Bags of potatoes line the restaurant, testament to the freshness of fried goodness that awaits. You can also snack on peanuts while you wait, but you'd be advised to save your appetite. I ordered a regular hamburger (which is a double patty), and it came out with cheese. I'm not sure how much more clear I can be about a hamburger. If I wanted cheese, I'd ask for a cheeseburger, am I the only one who doesn't get this? I took it back, they apologized, but it took quite a bit of time to remake it. So much so that the rest of my dining partners were almost finished by the time I started. Not cool, but it was a tasty burger, so I adjusted my attitude. The fries are deliciousness wrapped in peanut oil goodness. You can get a variety of toppings for your burger, I chose tomatoes, pickles, grilled onions, ketchup and mustard. But you are guaranteed to get a delicious combo you'll love. Tip: this place is super loud when it's busy, and I expect it will be busy for a while. The tables are very close to one another, and it made for a frenetic and stressful dining experience. You may want to consider getting a to-go order until it slows down, unless you like being ass to ass with the people next to you, and having little kids paw at you with dirty hands. read more

Five Guys is a nice addition to the burger options in the Reno area. It's a little spendy for a burger, but it's better than say McDonald's or Wendy's. I got a burger, fries and a drink. The burger was fried. The beef and bun tasted good. The condiments were a little sloppy. Maybe that's how people like it. The fries are thicker than most but still well cooked. The fries were also greasy. It soaked into the bag and the receipt. But I still liked them. The drink selection was an interesting difference. They have a broad selection of Coke products. I like diet drinks and I can't have caffeine and with the FIve Guys I have several drink choices. Usually I'm lucky to get one. I went with the Diet Barq's root beer and it tasted better than I remember. Regular Barq's has caffeine but the diet doesn't'. Service was good and friendly. I saw an elderly gentlemen stumped by the drink machine and the staff helped him out. I'm not going to say Five Guys makes the best burgers in the area. But it's a nice addition. read more

One warning, i find it hilarious, but, there are stacks of nuts at the front door.....so my guess....if you have a peanut allergy, youll see nuts at the door and run.
