First time in, I drive by it all the time, but rather than going into Chipotle, we opted for Five Guys. Clean, somewhat crowded at noon, decor is, well, I'm not sure how I'd describe it, other than bags of potatoes on the floor. Fuddruckers comes to mind. Line in to order, and it's burgers and fries. I say if you do something really well, you don't need a huge menu. They do burgers REALLY well. They do fries exceptionally well. The burger was big, it was juicy, it was perfectly cooked. It was wrapped in foil, to keep all the juiciness from dripping all over. Just the right amount of lettuce, tomatoes, and onion. The fries had the skin left on, the small order was enormous and we couldn't eat all of the fries there were so many. They were crispy and delicious. Gourmet burgers as I like to call it. Five Guys is one of my favorite burgers joints that I first discovered in Alabama years ago. Service at this location great and the staff is friendly. Their cajin fries are always a hit and by far some of the best fries you will have. Be warned though, that if you order a large fry it will feed 3-4 people easily. Recently returned to 5 Guys for a quick burger and fries with a friend. The portions are huge and I feel are affordable. Their regular size fries are plenty for at least 3 people. The "little" burger is the size of a standard burger, you can have as many toppings as you want and most don't cost anything extra! I love that I can come here, get my burger protein style with grilled veggies and it's not $10! Remember everything is cooked to order (no reheated here!) so allow plenty of time. They have the new coke machines with so many pop options and various flavors of them to boot. Though the parking lot is a shared lot, it can be difficult to find a spot during the lunch rush because it's so darn popular. Free peanuts in the shell! What more can I say?!? read more

The first time that I ate at Five Guys, I fell in love! The idea of having a gourmet and fast burger absolutely blew my mind. This was my first time putting mushrooms on a burger and that moment changed my burger expectations forever. I love that they use peanut oil to cook their fries. Overall, the food at Five Guys is absolutely fantastic for fast food standards. My favorite thing to order is a cheeseburger "all the way" (which has all of their recommended toppings on it). So disappointed! We ordered online at 6:30pm, and arrived to the restaurant around 6:45pm. When we got there the cashier called out our name to the other employees in the back to prepare our order. He then immediately gave us our shake. After 15 minutes go by of waiting, one of the workers looks down at a bag and looks back at us with a thumbs up, indicating (in our minds) that it would only be a few more minutes. 15 more minutes go by before we actually say something to the workers about our food, once we see that people who ordered in store after us were getting their food. When we did finally say something, they started outwardly blaming each other for the mistake, taking no personal responsibility for their actions. They demanded to know who saw us at the cashier and posited that he never called out our name (though we know he did). Apparently our food had been made at 6:30pm when we placed the online order, but no one bothered to give us the order. Shake melted & burgers cold 30 minutes later, we asked them to remake everything and they were hesitant to do so. The culture of blame and lack of personal responsibility among the workers was inappropriate. The worst restaurant experience I've had in months. read more

If you want a great burger, great, friendly service in a busy atmosphere, this is your place. I do emphasize that its a busy, noisy restaurant, but if you're in that mind set, you'll have a great time. The burgers are great and cooked on a flat top griddle, not a grill. So you don't get that smokey charred texture and taste, but you still get a fantastic burger. They make your burger to order to your list of ingredients and if you want, you can pick just the "black line" on the board to make your life and theirs easier and faster. Its the most common selections people put on a burger. You can even have your sandwich in the form of a salad or wrapped in lettuce. All of which the staff is more than happy to do for you. They even make grilled cheese sandwiches. While you wait they have open bins of peanuts in the shell that you can help yourself to while you wait. Its clever. Shelled peanuts take a little time to open and eat and by the time our first tray was almost empty, our order was ready. Inside tip, the number on the sandwiches is the sequence of the orders, so if you have four people in your party and your the third to order, just look for the one marked with a number 3 on it and your good to go. The fries are fresh cut with the skin on and a little larger cut, giving you a meatier fry with a subtle crispness to it. Malt vinegar is also offered, its a nice touch. I got a shake, and you can mix the flavors or add bacon to any shake, do it! One of the joys of someone else cooking is that you can get food options from them that you just would go through the hassle of doing your self, so take the options, you're worth it. Luis made mine with Oreos and Malt. The texture is a little thinner than most fast food places, but this allowed me to drink it with my burger rather than eat it like a sundae, what a novel idea. Delicious! The online ordering here is an awesome feature for me because when I eat here it is usually when I'm ordering a bunch of food for everyone at work. They don't make the French fries until you show up to get the food, which keeps them so fresh! You can get a bunch of different toppings on your burger and they aren't extra!! So I had a small cheese burger with fresh jalapeños on it--amazing! The food was still hot when I got it to work for everyone, which made everyone happy. The fries are delicious!! And so big! Definitely share!! And I recommend the cajon ones. One thing I particularly appreciate is they number each of the burgers with a little sticker on the wrapper. Love Five Guys, just not this location. I moved from Sacramento where we had multiple locations around and the burgers and fries normally taste very good. At this store, they never get your order ready on time if you order online. Expect to wait an extra 15-30 mins on top of your ready time. Also, they'll get your toppings wrong. The fries we received this evening were way over cooked and over seasoned. You couldn't eat them at all, and I'm a huge fry person so good fries mean a lot to me! One of the best places to grab a fresh non-processed burger, it's comparable to in and out burger, or a sit in diner style burger. Had the cheese burger with everything on it, really fresh and tasted wonderful, also ordered a large French fries, the fries were a little salty but still everything was up to my burger standards. Today was the first time I tried this restaurant. I get to my destination and remove my food from the bag only to find out that they gave me the wrong order (burger only). I was hesitant to call them to complain. My wife convinced me, so I call them, the employee who answered passed the phone to his manager John who was extremely nice and understanding. He apologized and asked if I was near so he could redo my order. I told him that I still have the fries untouched and only needed the burger. He said he would also include the fries so that I could have warm fries with my burger. When I get there my order was nearly complete. John as well as his staff apologized for the error. They even gave me another drink. I will definitely be coming back to this location when in the Reno area and recommending it. BIG props John and his staff. I hate to do this because I absolutely love five guys. However this place really needs help. Out of the last 5 times I've eaten here, only once were the fries just ok. They are usually overcooked, or have been sitting too long, and over seasoned. It's clear to me they don't do fry calibrations. One side of my grilled cheese was barely toasted, you could still see hecka Mayo, it still tasted bomb lol! I also know that most food service places are struggling due to staffing so I'll give some grace there. Again, not trying to be rude, but being from the east coast where five guys originated I am used to a certain level of quality that is frequently missed here. I just want to give feedback so that this can be addressed to protect the five guys brand. I was a GM for five guys on the east coast and I've frequently thought about getting a job here part time just to help bring the quality to where I know it can be. But seriously the fries are really the separating factor here than most burger joints. Five Guys has online ordering which is so worth it! I literally walked in and it was done right on the time I had chosen for pick up. I have done this option before and had a great experience then as well. If you've never been there make sure you ask how the menu is laid out. If you say everything you get EVERYTHING written in black and you add the items in red. Or pick and choose what you'd like! They have a good variety of toppings! I did learn that the regular burgers have two patties unless you order the little burgers which come with one. The quality of hamburger is worth going alone. I definitely recommend the BBQ sauce on your burger!! Delicious. The jalapeños have been pretty spicy each time I go so be aware. The buns are fluffy and good quality but they can do a lettuce wrap or a bowl if you prefer. We usually get a large fry to share they are a sharing size and salty! If you dine in they also have peanuts for while you wait and they do have high chairs. Stuff is always pleasant and helpful. I have never had an issue with an order nor an employee.
