It's been a while since we been to a Five Guys so we stopped in for lunch. Located in South Reno, in a convenient location, easy to get to and park. Inside, it feels exactly like a Five Guys should. Bright, clean, and casual. There's plenty of seating. Nothing fancy, but comfortable and straightforward, which works well for this kind of food. The staff was friendly and efficient. They moved the line along, explained options clearly, and didn't rush through the order. The food delivered what you expect from Five Guys. The burger was hot, juicy, and cooked well, with generous toppings. The fries came in a massive portion, fresh and perfectly salty. Well the place was not packed but i was nice and clean except the drink station which needed a little attention. First off i want to start by saying i love the box of peanuts available to customers. They had an advanced soda machine in which i found my favorite Sprite grape zero. My burger was delicious with all the free toppings and the grilled jalapeños were amazing for my burger. Fries? the fries were everywhere in the bag over my cup we had so many we took some home the burger never made it out the door. Best burger in town. Prices are kinda high but worth it. read more

Should have known walking into this place , most tables were dirty , trash receptacles full and food and other debris all over the floors. Yet at least 6-7 crew members behind the counter. Who's managing this place!? Worst grilled cheese I have ever tasted. Something was off about the bread or cheese. This was my first time trying the grilled cheese. They definitely have a weird vibe; I know no other place that uses their parlor as a storage room. They claim they have great fries, but they were just average to me. Their service was not that great. Their soda machine was about to run out of syrup si the zero cherry coke did not taste right. They served us fast, that's the part I like, but the food is not that great. I went because people say that this place is better than In-N-Out, it is not. Prices at Five Guys are getting higher and higher. I had been in Sacramento for an appointment and got into Reno after 7pm. Dropped into Five Guys to pick up dinner for the hubby. I knew prices here were higher than most Burger Joints but I was surprised at the price for 1 meal, $29.74! When I mentioned to the cashier their prices were getting ridiculous, he stated they were going to be adding Combo Meals to the menu. Burgers are good but expensive for fast food. Cajun Fries are the best! I had ordered a soda for the ride home but the Soda dispenser was chintzy with the syrup. Same issue a couple of months ago when I stopped in. Got my order in 15-20 minutes and took off. I get halfway home and realized they forgot the milkshake. Back to 5 Guys! I was not happy at all! I decided to add a milkshake to the order of for my husband who had remained in the car and thought easy peasy. NOT the case. I sat and scrolled my phone while nibbling on peanuts provided for waiting customers. After way to long if a wait I start fixing my gaze on the open kitchen and the hustle taking place. Finally an employee from behind the counter get my attention and has the milkshake I. Her hand reaching out in my direction. I go and retrieve the shake and imagine my fries will appear any second d. I go back to my seat and the wait goes on, and on... and on. At done point I realize my fries aren't happening as they've now starting calling numbers well beyond my ticket. I approach the person who'd handed me tgd shake and tell her that this shake isn't even for me and it's well on its way to total meltdown and my fries still haven't appeared. She was very nice and offered to remake the shake. I actually felt bad and didn't want her to have to do that. Still thinking my fries were going to appear any second, it's been over 30 minutes at this point. They determine that my fries order somehow fell through the cracks. Now I'm just standing at the counter watching the fry guy finally get my fries in the oil. It's going in 50 minutes and I'm just in unbelief. The reason for considering a gratis star is that aside from whoever dropped the ball on my order, everyone was incredibly polite and attempted to get it right in a very kind approach. I was also very polite yet frustrated when all of a sudden a manager type approached me and slipped two $10 5 guy gift certificates into my hand with an apology. My milkshake also was remade. At that point I couldn't get to the exit fast enough! When I got to the car my husband was slack jawed and basically said WTF? Everytime I go I order the same thing. I always ask for our fries extra crispy and aware they make them as soon as customers arrive so I'm always sure to double check that they're extra crispy when i pay for my order.. when i receive my order there not crispy anytime I get food there. I get grilled onions peppers and jalapeños on my burger they are rarely ever actually grilled , I visit this establishment a couple times a month and find it unfortunate that no matter how many times I order the same thing the attention to detail is never there. I think it should be concidering it's the only five guys in Reno and sparks. Those are the grilled peppers I asked for and that was the only pepper on there. read more

I have never had such great customer service. I went to 5 Guys yesterday at 6395 S. McCarren Blvd in Reno Nv and I was blown away with Halie's professionalism. I received my food but unfortunately my fries were harder than I liked. The harder ones hurt my mouth. So I went to the counter and asked if I could get some softer ones. This used to be my daughter's favorite fast food hamburger place. Too bad she did not join me on this visit, but more peanuts for me. Five Guys, named after the father and 4 sons; 2 years later Jerry had a fifth son, LOL. Quality/Quantity - Made fresh to order, juicy and messy. Got the Little Hamburger today as a snack. Well the Little Hamburger is not that little. :) And then, I added a few trays of peanuts which made it a full meal. :) Atmosphere - Love the decor, very consistent in the company. Decor also acts as extra storage space, potatoes, oil, peanuts, etc. GREAT idea. Multi-use. I also like all the articles and history posted throughout the business. Decor also extends to the bathrooms. Plenty of parking. Open 7 days a week from 11am to 10pm. Plenty of indoor seating. Service - Good, made fresh to order. Team is friendly, all working very hard. Cashiers call out the order and the chefs in the back repeat it back to them; am I in a Gordon Ramsey restaurant??? Ordered online to go and found out when I got home there wasn't any meat or cheese in my bacon cheeseburger just bacon and the toppings.

First thing I have to say, is the free peanuts are back! The second thing is, the price of the burgers have gone up about 2 1/2 dollars! So my cheeseburger cost a whopping $10.09 :( on the bonus side, I asked for extra tomatoes, extra mushrooms extra pretty much everything and there's no up charge. Another thing is the new styles of having your burger either in a lettuce wrap, or in a bowl. Today I chose to have a bowl. It's kind of like a hamburger salad. You do have to cut up the stuff yourself, but yeah cheeseburger salad lol. What I ordered: Cheeseburger in a bowl. Extra tomatoes, extra lettuce, extra mushrooms, Normal amount of grilled onions lol. It is really nice to be able to shell and eat some peanuts in the shell while waiting for my order. All of the Covid crap, unavailable so I just stopped coming here for a couple years. Skyler was the cashier/order guy and he was a little flippant ? I was trying to determine what the difference was between a lettuce for a burger and a burger and a bowl. I didn't know if they made it an actual salad or what. I guess you ask a silly question, you get so many looks and so he answers... Notes for the uninitiated: - Get the smallest fry and they will still load it up - The Normal burger is a double patty - Unlimited free toppings on the burger Milkshakes are very good and seem to be made with real ice cream, however they are like 6-7$. OMG. This place is great. It isnt cheap, but the burgers and fries are amazing. Made to order with soo many choices. I think there is something like 200k+ combinations. I ordered a regular bacon cheeseburger with the works, no mushrooms and the smallest fry size. The burger was perfect, and NO, you dont need to order a double cheeseburger, a single is like the size of double quarter pounder. The cheese was melted and gooey, and everything was just right! Its a mess to eat, but the bun doesnt get as soggy as other places. The fries. Jesus Christo. The smallest order is like a McDonalds large size. If you order the large fries, its like an entire brown paper lunch bag full. Im not kidding. Its enough fries for 4-5 people. And they are delicious and fresh. Highly recommend this place. read more

Upon arrival. I was greeted and acknowledged by all workers in the back. The cashier was friendly and kind. Tables, floors, counters, were very clean. Excellent work management team by realizing the importance of customer service. I have visited a few times throughout the month and every day was consistent. If it's your first time going to 5 guys, don't be discouraged if you're bad at ordering or undecided. The burgers are customizable and offer a variety of condiments and toppings that are listed out on the menu before making your order. Overall the food was amazing. Try the Cajun fries. If I could give you 3.5 I totally would, because this is a big tasty burger that packs a lot of flavor. That said, I can't give more because I still feel the value proposition is a little out of alignment with Five Guys. First things first, a "Burger" here has two patties. The "little burger" has one. I didn't see any mention of this on the menu (May have overlooked) and figured it was the size of the patty, not the number. One would've been more than enough for me. Patties are large, hand formed, and griddled nicely on the flat top to order. They land on a soft seeded bun, and they offer a lot of free toppings, like grilled onions, fresh jalapeños and grilled mushrooms. The problem is, the patties are big and juicy, and once you start stacking on the toppings, the bottom bun can't stand up to it. I ordered a large fry, around $6, and it was enough to share with one hungry adult. The fries here are great. Fresh cut and when ordered extra crispy, they're near perfect. I wanted to order a shake, but they only offer one size and it's around $6. Most shops would call what they serve a small, so I had to pass. All told, a "bacon cheeseburger" is almost $10, add a large fry $6 split between two, and you're at a $13 fast casual burger. Most of our great local burger spots come in about the same or less. read more

On a Sunday afternoon I was in the mood for a good juicy burger, and being that I live in South Reno I felt like staying on this side of town. So after contemplating where to go, I decided on a whim to try Five Guys, since I haven't eaten here since it first opened in Reno way back when. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger with grilled onions/mushroom, and Cajun fries. For the price of the burger I was surprised at the lack and options of toppings. And this now chain burger shop (this is pricey) also has the option for tips when paying, which a whole other subject. The burger itself was good, but wish it was a bit more gooey and loaded with toppings. It seems a little sad and didn't fill my craving. The fries were awesome but wish I had opted for the plain salt fries, since the Cajun seasoning was really salty. So after a huge gap between visits, I can see why I never felt the need to come back. Five guys: pretty much the same experience at every restaurant; so consistency is definitely an important facet of their business model, which would explain why they keep growing as a chain nationwide. Easy ordering and good service. Burgers are cooked to order, so not quick, but that's great considering it's YOUR burger getting cooked on the grill. The stores all look the same, stacked boxes of peanuts, potatoes and oil along with the white and red ceramic tile. You definitely know you're in 5 guys based on the decor and you the sounds coming from the kitchen. $18 for a burger isn't bad for a great but you do get free peanuts.
