Five Guys in Poway. Inside Dining and outside patio to the right. Plenty good chillin'!!!

13.99 for a combo and for a couple extra dollars I got a patty melt. However, wrapped in aluminum, by the time it reached the table, the grilled bread had become soft from moisture. Perhaps wrapped in the normal paper wrapping it wouldn't absorb as much. "Dunno?!?!" And how about a tray instead of a bag you have to tear at the table to make a placemat of sorts. Too messy! Otherwise food was tasty and staff was attentive or I may have given 3 stars... So be it...

recently visited the Five Guys in Poway, and overall, it was a great experience. The cashier was incredibly friendly and took the time to explain the prices and menu, which was a nice touch. It definitely didn't feel like a typical fast-food experience. I've worked in fast food before, and this was on another level in terms of service. Now, onto the food. The burgers? Absolutely amazing. Juicy, flavorful, and well worth ordering. Honestly, I should've just gotten two because they were that good. The hot dog, though? Not worth it. Way too overpriced. I could make the same thing at home for a couple of bucks. The fries were okay; they're fresh and made from real potatoes, but let's be honest, what fries aren't? Nothing particularly special about them. The restaurant itself was decently clean. The bathrooms weren't spotless, but they weren't terrible either. Just some stuff on the floor, which is pretty standard. One thing I really appreciated was how disability-friendly the location is. They even have separate tables designed for accessibility, which is a thoughtful touch. Now, the biggest downside: the price. I paid nearly $50 for two hamburgers, one hot dog, one order of fries, and a milkshake. That's pretty crazy for fast food. While the quality is great, it's definitely on the expensive side. Would I go back? Probably. Next time, I'm skipping the hot dog and just doubling up on the burgers. Rating: (4/5) Great food and service, but a bit too pricey.

Laid back no-frills atmosphere, has outdoor seating too. Great burgers and fries and not too expensive.

First time trying five guys in a while and I forgot that their regular burgers come with two patties. If you're not huge on meat, the little burgers are recommended because those only have one patty. The fries are super good, and I think I would say they're better than most fast food places! Come for the fries!

Your weekend hours are ridiculously stupid. Who closes at 4pm on a weekend? People eat burgers FOR LUNCH AND DINNER mostly, FYI!

Does this place allow smoking in their outside seating area? I have really bad allergies to second hand smoke but prefer eating outside

Officially, smoking is not allowed in the outside patio area. However, the employees have little to no power to enforce the Poway City Ordinance. I've never seen anyone smoke in the patio area, but it's always possible that an uncouth customer may… Read more

We made reservations on OPEN-TABLE, but they were not necessary. When we walked in, we were seated at a table by the window. We were greeted by our SERVER JAMES. FIRST, he took our drink orders, THEN our meal order. We both ordered a TWISTED GRINGO BURGER; mine was Medium Rare, my partner's was well done. I ordered Onion Rings, and Gonzalo ordered French Fries. WHEN THE ORDER ARRIVED, a mix-up. MY BURGER came with French Fries, my partner's with onion rings. SERVER JAMES, responded correctly by saying, "I'll take care of it." In 10 Minutes, we had NEW BURGERS, AND French Fries and Onion Rings. WE ENJOYED OUR MEAL!!! It was as expected, AND MORE!!!

For this most recent visit, we came at pretty much peak lunch time. We noticed they weren't very full inside when we joined their waitlist--they also had this huge outdoor seating on the side with only a few guests seated--but we had to wait about half an hour or so before we were called and told that our table was ready. Service was alright--our server was nice, but our food took about 45 minutes to come out and we've already been waiting for so long to get seated. Ambiance was cool--they have this unique rustic and old Western style going on. The place was generally clean, as well as their restrooms. Food was average--nothing to write home about. We got the Maple Bourbon Steak Tips with Garlic Mashed Potatoes and Tater Tots; the tater tots ended up being much better than everything else on the plate. When they asked how we wanted the steak cooked, we said medium rare. It arrived all well done and dry. We also got the Twisted Gringo Burger with Fries; this one was good as the burger patty was still a little bit juicy at least. Will we come back? Maybe, maybe not. I think there are other much better options to visit around the area.

The bar was busy with a lot of patrons and sports on the TVs. Moderate amount of noise but could still hear each other talk. Started the meal with free chips and salsa (Rewards member perk for the month of May) and the Summer Shandy, a refreshing concoction of Islands Luau Lager, Mango Freeze and Mango Agua Fresca. Still thinking about that Shandy and might have to go back for another. Ordered the Lunch Special Pacific Rim Bowl and the Patty Melt with Island Fries and Ranch dressing. The bowl came with grilled chicken, cabbage salad, red onions and edamame topped with a sesame-lime dressing. Good crunch and texture throughout with all the cabbage but thought the chicken to everything else ratio was definitely uneven (I cut the chicken into smaller pieces to ensure there would be a piece of chicken with most bites lol). The patty melt was as delicious and as expected....well-seasoned ground beef patties (yes, two of them), two slices of cheese. caramelized onions on grilled sourdough. Ordered the fries with no salt but asked for Ranch dressing because theirs is the best. Our server checked on us often which made for an overall good experience.

Seems like this part of Cali, SoCal, has HH even on weekends, so that's some serious news to me! I am always down to save money!! I came in here around 4pm and sat at the bar. HH on the weekends are from 3pm -6pm, sweet! There were definitely people here but now crowded. Service was prompt and nice. I felt like a frozen margarita as I walked over and the sun was definitely out heating me up! Margarita is huge, which was nice but I knew I couldn't finish all of it. I ordered the nachitos off their HH menu and this came out about 10 min later. I didnt substitute anything and it was a pretty good nachos. I could even handle the smashed beans and usually I cannot stand having most kinds of beans on my nachos. I think though for next time, I will order some chilli on top! Overall, a very nice laid back local neighborhood spot. I did wish they had some tables outside but the bar area was laid back and comfortable. Id come back again when in the mood for a margarita and a snack and would consider also returning to try other items like their soups and salads when the occasion presents itself! Thanks Islands for a solid experience!

My first burger wad the Tony Gwynn, but my most favorite item from here are the fries. My latest fav is the Ultimate BLT. The B should be capitalized and larger than the L and T because the 10 pieces of bacon are so crispy and delicious. They showered down onto the wrapper with every bite I took. It was so messy, but so right. My husband couldn't resist and asked for a few bites, and now he will be ordering his own the next time he goes back to buy me fries and sandwich of choice. Husband said the last time he went there, there was only 1 guy there doing everything on his own. No complaints when he had 6 burgers to cook and he had to make bacon for me and fire up the deep fryer. He was making food, packing food, taking orders, serving food, and cleaning up like a boss.

It tasted bland and bitter. Was it straight vinegar? I've never eaten at this place before and I surely will never go back. The toppings were minimal. And to think I passed up a perfectly good JM's right next door! That was a mistake. Deli Stop should just stop. Period. Junk! JM next door gave me a healthy sandwich today for $2 less. Talking about price, I should mention that the cash register showed $13.97 but the last charged me an even $14. A rip off for a disgusting sandwich.
