We ordered the 1/2 lb "OG" burger and the 1/4 lb classic. Both of them came with soft brioche buns and juicy patties. It had a balanced amount of sauces and ingredients without being too overpowering. The meat tasted fresh and not overly salted. However, they are both on a pricier side for a burger that does not come with any sides. They are like fancy burgers without the fancy location. I enjoyed the OG burger's simplicity and its melted cheese but the Classic helped balancing out the greasiness with the lettuce and onions. They used thinly sliced lettuces instead of full leaves. It's very discouraging to see the weeds and trash that build up overall on this corner but specifically right in front of Swagyu. First time visiting Swagyu Burger in Poway and I was impressed! Interesting place with a handful of tables and friendly, energetic service. I ordered the ¼ lb Classic Smash Burger and it was very tasty. Made with all the traditional LTOP fixin's, American cheese, plus spread on a brioche bun. The burger tasted great but was kind of a hot mess to handle. I felt like I needed to take two showers when I was done. Overall the balance of ingredients could have been better. Very onion heavy, not enough shrettuce, etc. I think next time I'll have something a little more beef forward like a 2x2 or something. We shared a side of Sidewinder Fries which were delicious. Hot, flavorful, crispy and comes with your choice of two dipping sauces. They don't offer any combo meals here. Everything is priced a la carte, so it winds up costing a small fortune. Especially if you're out as a couple or a family. Note that there is no public restroom at Swagyu Poway which is unfortunate. There is a hand washing station near the front where you order. Small basic restaurant was over air conditioned and the rocking music was blasting. We were the only customers and you order at the counter upon entry. The staff was very nice and helpful. We decided to split the $20 OG Swagyu burger, share an order of the Sidewinder Frys. I loved the fries, but my wife thought they and the burger were over salted. There were only two staff members present when we arrived and they were very busy. I had to wait about 7+ minutes to place my order. The cook informed us they had just received an order for 16 burgers so they were busy. Although they were busy I appreciated how friendly he was. The smashed burger patties were fantastic, and the staff was very courteous when we went. But this location was out of tomato, pickles, and sidewinder fries (what I was most looking forward to) on my visit. The beef tallow fries were fine, nothing spectacular. The buns are large and sweet, too much bread for a single 1/4lb patty but would be good for 1/2lb+ burgers. Decided to split the 1/2lb El Swagador Burger with a side of the A5 Wagyu Tallow Fries. First of all, this quadruple confirms why I will never become a vegan. I just absolutely can't when a badass double decker burger with decadent pork belly on top exists!!! This burger sucker punched me directly in the mouth with flavor! The pork belly was so tender it basically melted in my mouth. The pickled serranos brought such a delightful kick. Honestly, even if I didn't get it cut in half, this is definitely one of those burgers you can't put down until you're done. You won't be able to stop going in for another bite. Of course the fries were spectacular as well. Why I've never had fries cooked in beef tallow before--and apparently are gluten free? Beats me. But now I'm ruined forever.
