The ladies forgot about us and gave everyone else that was after us their food even though they had ordered a lot more things. We waiting for about 20 minutes until I asked the people next to us that had ordered after us, if they had ordered the same fries we had ordered. He said he had and asked us if we had gotten our order and we said no. So he goes and tells the ladies we had been waiting for a long time and had not received our order (1 large fry). You should put an option to go negative on the stars as that is what this place deserves. My order was taken by some young, punk gal that looked like she couldn't care less. No smile, no nothing. Just plain simple and rude. To top it off, she ruined my order. A burger that should have been made with a single patty with no salt was made with double patties and with extra salt, extra dressing. The fries seemed to been re heated at least 3 times and were saturated with frying oil and tasted horrible. For $14 for a simple burger, that was a total rip off. My husband and I went there for lunch for the first time today and we had a great experience! I suffer from Celiac Disease so eating out is always scary but the staff there were so welcoming and helpful they made sure everything was perfect they dont have fried foods and thier buns are on a separate flat top so I felt super comfortable! I love the fact that you can customize your order free of charge. It is a bit pricey but the food is so worth every penny and you get free peanuts which are also very delicious. Fries tasted like they were redeepfried as some fries were crispy yet some where stale. Maybe one of the employees just refried old fries? Pros: outside dining and clean facility. My fiance and I came on January 13th of today the 18th and we ordered food and paid for it on a Green Dot prepaid card and we went back cuz we believe we dropped it somewhere in the restaurant and they said that one of the ladies threw the trash out and blew they saw the card and didn't believe it was anything. First time here and I really liked it! The staff is super friendly and willing to help you through the ordering process. I ordered the little bacon cheeseburger with little fries and regular drink (it was not little lol). My burger was about the size of an in n out burger. This is also the first time I ever eaten a bacon cheeseburger where the the bacon is actually crispy! I wish they did offer different types of cheese considering how many toppings and sauces they have. Also, RANCH! it would've been even better if they had ranch. Can't believe how many people are complaining about the price. Husband and I spent about what we do at Carl's Jr. and ended up with way better tasty burgers and way too many fries. All the free toppings are totally worth it and if you are a plain burger person then that will be where you have a problem. Boxes of peanuts cluttered up the place, and customers didn't really seem to be eating them. All the times that I have visited Five Guys the customer service has always been great. The food is pricey considering all the cheaper hamburger restaurants in Merced but saying that the hamburgers are delicious. But what really keeps me coming back are the Cajun fries and the shakes, they are consistently the only foods that will satisfy my food cravings. The location of the restaurant is also why I go here, it is near the university which makes it easy to get a quick meal before I head to class. This is by far the worse place of business I've ever been to. For being such a well known brand, the food was subpar at exorbant prices. I went during the first week it opened and just yesterday. The atmosphere has went from bad to unbearable, the management and the vibe is entirely different. From what I gather workers were being let go in large numbers due to lack of profits, and whoever is left are being given abysmal hours forcing them to choose between an hourless job or unemployment. These types of business practices utterly disgust me. I'd much rather give my money to a better, inexpensive restaurant that treats their workers like human beings, and doesn't treat their customers like idiots. read more
