Service was great! Greeted immediately and the staff looked eager and ready to work. It wasn't busy so it was a nice relaxed atmosphere. The food was delicious, a tremendous amount of fries and the burgers were juicy. A bit more money then I would like to pay but over all it was a good experience.

Burger all the way

Two words: French Fries. So delicious. The burgers are amazing too - so fresh. Messy, but so delicious. One of the best burgers around. My only negative is that the same burger at Mighty Fine Down the street is also great and costs about $4 cheaper. Here, for a burger, fries and large drink it is $20. Everything is more expensive these days, but these are on the higher end.

We went right when it opened right at 11am. We are new to the Kyle area and loved to try something new. There wasn't a five guys near us prior to moving to Kyle. I must say the staff was super friendly and the food was so fresh! I was very pleased to see how hot and tasty everything was. I was so happy to try this place. All the burgers were made to order! We had no issues and the cheeseburger comes with two Patties! The large Cajun fries are HUGE! A regular was perfect for sharing. I also appreciated that they have the soda machine with 1000 options to choose from to drink. Overall, we had a great experience. I loved that I could eat peanuts while I waited and food was DELICIOUS! Can't wait to come back and try a milkshake!

Little Hamburger and the Cheeseburger. Not impressed

Running errands in Kyle and wanted to check out one of our favorites when we lived in NC. The staff was friendly and they all wore their masks. The place was really clean but the burgers were not as good as we remembered. Not sure if we got spoiled by some of the other burger places here in Texas but we didn't love it like we used to. I order the JR. with grilled onions, mushrooms, mustard, ketchup, lettuce and tomato. It felt like they didn't complete peel the onion before they cooked it. There was definitely onion skin on that burger. Hubby had the regular cheeseburger with grilled onions, mushrooms, mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, lettuce and tomato. He wasn't impressed either. It wasn't horrible and we will try it again.

Touching phone with food gloves, then puts burgers together with same gloves. Um, what?! How is this food safety?

Five Guys is great. I go in, sometimes there is a wait, but the burgers are worth it. The fries are even better. A bit over priced, but still good. Today I ordered two burgers and fries to go. While I was waiting, I saw a worker with gloves on (at the assembly station...? Where the raw food was assembled after the burger came off the grill) using his cell phone. Um, excuse me sir, but are you touching your phone with the same gloves you are touching food? Where does that phone go? Drop it on the floor? In the restroom? In your bed? In your pocket? Effin gross. Sure, there is a chance the phone could be clean, but a very, very slim chance. So, customers, survey your food preppers before you bite. You may get more than you bargained for. Wish me luck.

Before I stopped and ate here, I read the reviews on YELP and saw that they were not very good, to say the least. But i'm glad that they didn't stop me from eating here. I was pleasantly surprised. The service was friendly, and the burger and fries were delicious. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger with the works and an extra patty. The fries were just as good and there were a lot. It was about double the amount of fries that you would get at any fast food restaurant. You can even eat peanuts while you wait for your food. They have bags of peanuts that customers can eat while they wait for their food. The only negative thing that I could say about the place was that they don't have or sell ranch dressing. That burger and fries would have been extra good with some ranch. Great food and service. I would definitely recommend eating here if you get the chance.

This is the size of the LARGE Cajun Fries. That will not feed 4 to 5 people like I was told...:/

Lupe Tortilla is one of those restaurants. I'm not saying it's a bad thing as one of my personal favorites (Pappacito's) holds this same designation. Over the years I been to Lupe but haven't been overly impressed. A few happy hours; some lunches. It's pricey Tex-Mex. Lupe opened a new outlet recently in Kyle and instead of waiting for tires in a lobby we ride shared just down the road for lunch. New digs are nice; competition in this area will be stiff. It already killed off Austin fave Z' Tejas. I've never gotten the complimentary beans served with the chips and salsa. I personally don't need any more beans than what's served with my entree. Wife liked it though; she's a bean whore. Bloody Mary ordered; it's like an appetizer! Her taco salad was artfully presented. I'd still want the traditional fried tortilla bowl. I opted for the beef fajita and shrimp fajitas. This is where my favorite mentioned about easily stands above Lupe Tortilla. Well done meat versus beautiful medium rare goodness. Beef fajita meat doesn't have to be well done y'all. I literally could tag nearly every Tex-Mex restaurant in Texas at this point. Back to the dish this time concentrating on the seafood aspect. The shrimp were nicely cooked but red pepper butter? Fave copycat restaurant serves their shrimp with the most amazing frothy garlic butter. Diablo and the bacon wrapped version. Lupe isn't bad but there are better options. For this visit, including my dessert of a tequila shot. May not be my favorite but it was upscale fare.

You can pay and assign a buzzer that lets you know when your food order is ready. I ended up ordering the bonfire bowl with salmon as the protein. The bowl included Cilantro Lime Rice, Black Beans, Spinach, Diced Mango, Pickled Onions & Jalapeños, Pistachios, and Avocado sauce. They brought my food to my table when ready. The bowl was a good portion size with 2 salmon filets. The salmon was seasoned well however there was a bone in one of the pieces. I loved the fresh mango and spinach. The rice was very flavorful but was a bit heavy. I was only able to eat half of the bowl and I was full and took the rest to go. We pushed two tables together in the dining area so members of our family could sit together. They had TVs playing sports and other funny clips for entertainment. Overall an enjoyable experience with good food and friendly service.

That changed when I lived in Kansas City; a place called Oklahoma Joes (changed to Joes KS) BBQ operated out of a gas station. It's one of the best places in the nation for BBQ, so with that knowledge and hungry for a decent chicken sandwich, I considered the new Sharks inside the gas station which just went up less than a mile from my house. In short, WOW, I'm literally shocked! I googled "fast food chicken sandwiches" and none of the suggestions that came up appealed to me as they've always been horrible. So, I thought, let me see some yelp reviews on Sharks Burgers. After seeing consistently high marks on burgers, I decided to try both. Before I go on, please note Sharks is inside of the Valero gas station right off of 35 across the freeway from Costco. The place is extremely clean, in a safe part of town and the employees are very nice. On the website I decided to build my own chicken sandwich and I'll mention they didn't have an option to double up cheese so I put it in the notes and it was added! I added mayo, ketchup, Swiss x2, grilled onions and mushrooms, lettuce and tomatoes. The chicken was slightly thicker than I anticipated while being moist and not overcooked. I think they could have added a touch more onions and mushrooms otherwise it was great. Plus, it has juices oozing out that got the bun soggy and I had no issues with that. The major gripe I had with both sandwiches is they didn't core the tomato so I gnawed on a big chunk of core, yuck. I decided to munch on my fresh tots which were pipping hot while dipping them in their shark sauce. I didn't like the shark sauce as I hate buffalo sauce which was the dominate flavor. My final item was the blue cheese burger. The beef was cooked perfectly and as with the chicken sandwich the bun was perfect but there could have been thicker and more slices of avocado. Otherwise, it's a well-balanced little burger with the blue cheese adding the funk to set it aside. To quote Pulp Fiction, it was a tasty burger (fyi - please add a big kahuna burger to the menu as I would be a regular). Overall, I was shocked about how much better Sharks food is over competing fast food restaurants. The meat is thicker and juicier, they have more interesting combinations and they food was straight from the kitchen, not under some heat lamp. I'd rank them almost on par with the "gourmet" burger shops like (4+1 gentlemen) and (extremely excellent) burgers (I hope you can figure out the cryptic message). I'll be back soon to indulge in Sharks offerings and if you're like I was, on the fence; get off and give it a try, you won't regret it.

As we walked in, we were greeted by who I assume is the owner and she let us know there was a free table next to her. Our waitress was super friendly and gave us chips and salsa shortly after being sat. The chips and salsa were excellent and I, as usual, ate too much. The salsa had a good spice and great flavor and the chips were very crunchy and crispy (like fritos but airier). I ordered a small menudo and chilaquiles with green salsa and both were really good. The menudo had a ton of flavor, good spices, and the stomach pieces were cooked perfectly; super tender and no, sometimes off putting, lingering offal smells. The chilaquiles were also great and the green salsa was mild and refreshing, with excellent side of potatos and beans. I could not finish my food as I thought the small menudo would be like a small cup not a whole bowl. I had also filled up on chips and salsa and our waitress refilled it so I had even more. All in all, this is an excellent little local spot for some bold flavors and fresh food. The menu is quite large and I'm curious to come back and have some other foods (like chicken fried steak).
