Chicken fried steak
Mark C.

Really good food. We ate breakfast dishes, 3 eggs, bacon, crispy fried potatoes, biscuit with honey, and French toast. This was fantastic. Grandson had chicken fried steak with gravy and a couple of fried eggs. He was stuffed before he finished.

Fitzy's is a fantastic, no-frills, old-school diner absolutely bursting with retro pop culture charm. The breakfast portions are huge, the food is delicious, and the vibe is pure classic comfort. A must-visit in Columbus!

This is still one of my favorite diner spots in Columbus, I come here at least once a week and I have never been disappointed. The food is amazing and made to order, the staff is always so nice, and the place is pretty clean. If you have not stopped here you need to come by for breakfast of lunch!

Over the years we have gone here. They have always had good food and great service. This time I had the corned beef hash and eggs.

Reuben sandwich & fresh fruit
Myra W.

Finally on this side of town. Have wanted to try for years I just never got over here to do it. Only open from 8 to 3 so it's breakfast and lunch selections. It was a hard choice between breakfast, but I went down between the Reuben sandwich and the chili with cornbread. I was afraid that that the chili would be too soupy and I prefer thick and chunky so I went with the Reuben and instead of fries fresh fruit. My husband ordered biscuits and gravy, home fries, and eggs.Reuben was delish - not greasy or messy. Could only eat half. My husband loved his meal. Next time will definitely order the chili - it looked thick and chunky. The floor bothered us - looked dirty but could have just been seasoned. The best is that they have a menu with smaller portions and - you don't have to be a kid to order from it.

The best breakfast place in Columbus I've been to this far. I got this to go, the home fries were delicious.

Tommy's Diner: More Than Great Food. It's the People Who Make It Special…read more There are plenty of places to eat in Columbus, but there is only one Tommy's Diner. And for me, it's one of my absolute favorite places in the city. First, the food is terrific. Good, honest diner food, generous portions, and lunch specials at prices where you still feel like you're getting your money's worth. Every time I walk through the door, I'm reminded of those wonderful Greek diners I grew up enjoying in New York City and Connecticut. Good food, good people, and a place where you always feel welcome. But what makes Tommy's special goes far beyond the menu. The service staff is exceptional. Many have worked there for years, and they treat customers like old friends. They remember faces, they remember preferences, and they genuinely care about the people they serve. You don't find that kind of loyalty and personal attention everywhere these days. And then there's Michael, the owner and son of the original Tommy. He carries on his father's legacy in a way that makes the restaurant feel less like a business and more like a gathering place for the Columbus community. If you remember the television show Cheers, where everybody knows your name, you'll understand the atmosphere at Tommy's. People from every walk of life come through those doors. Businesspeople, retirees, working families, longtime regulars, and first-time visitors. You get a wonderful cross-section of Columbus, and what stands out most is how genuinely friendly everyone is. That's the magic of Tommy's Diner. The food brings you in, but the people bring you back. You cannot manufacture or duplicate what Tommy's has built over the years. It's a combination of family tradition, loyal employees, personal service, and a community of customers who feel like they belong. Restaurants come and go. Some have great food. Others have great service. A few have wonderful atmospheres. Tommy's has all three, along with something even harder to find: heart. Tommy's Diner is my die-for place in Columbus. If you haven't been there, you're missing one of the city's true treasures. And Michael, please don't ever change what makes Tommy's so special.

It was so weak we thought we were drinking tea. The meal was just ok. Too many really good breakfast places to choose from that I won't need to drive across town anymore. It's more a neighborhood place. They are very friendly to those they know. Waited forever to get our bill that's how much we were ignored. As I walked out I reminded myself that this is my last time walking out those doors. We used to look forward to coming out to Tommy's but though the years quality and service have fallen.

First time my wife and daughter stopped before our daughter headed overseas for two years in the Peace Corps. Scotty''s is super close and convenient to the airport. Scotty learned of the imminent departure and came with cookies and treats for the long flight! And now this morning it was another airport drop off. It was my turn, dining alone but nothing about a table for one at Scotty's is lonely. The staff are immediately welcoming and every customer is every employee's charge. Four different people helped me or just checked in. The Gina breakfast combos have lots to offer for breakfast. But I was thrilled this 9:30 am to be assured the whole menu was available. I was looking for something less common and was excited to see potato latkes with sour cream and apple sauce as an option. That would have been great but then the waitress (Salome maybe) said, "Do you like corned beef?" The Schmoozer is 3 enormous latkes with thinly shaved and lightly grilled corn beef on top with an over easy egg atop that. Seriously, I can declare victory for finding something I'd never had before. Never would have found it without the nudge. Had to cut myself off with all the coffee offers. Just a great vibe. You rarely see a 4.9 rating and even more rarely that high based on so many reviews. But I understand why - like in so many things in life, it is about the people. And the joy they bring to every conversation. And I will just add, in this age when some would divide us, this dining room is filled with all manner of folks, reveling together over food in fellowship.

Their baked goods are also a must-get, especially the lemon cookies and oatmeal raisin cookies! The workers were so kind and attentive and made our first experience there absolutely amazing.
