    Breakfast burrito

Fun and lovely atmosphere, New Orleans decor, went on a Sunday for brunch/lunch. There was plenty of seating, service was great, and a huge menu selection and variety to choose from. My friend and I split the fish tacos and breakfast burrito (meat on the side), and waiter was accommodating. The portion sizes are good for the price! One downside for the rice and beans - rice flavor was good but there was a crunch (rice was maybe over cooked / cooked inconsistently). Friends enjoyed the snapper and seafood pasta!

We came in just before kitchen close (9pm) and were seated right away. Unfortunately, it look about 10 minutes to get service. While slightly annoying, we were mostly just concerned that the kitchen was going to close on us. Luckily, it didn't, and when we did flag a server down she was super friendly and apologetic and the service was very attentive from there forward. They even comped us a desert for the wait! Over all the meal was delicious. My wife loves the blackened snapper and I tried the po boy this time. I think it could use a little more fish or less bread, but overall the seasoning was solid and the fish was flaky and delicious. We will be back!

    Friday Fish Fry!

Fish Bones is one of our favorite restaurants. From Friday night fish fry to Sunday brunch, their food and service never disappoints. The atmosphere is great. We love sitting on the patio over looking the lake in summer. And popping into a heated igloo in the winter. The drinks are fairly priced. The food is always spectacular. And the Gumbo is honestly the best I've had (even after a recent trip to NOLA). If you haven't been here, what are you waiting for??? It's one of our top dinner spots in lake country!

This place is amazing for a unique dining experience. They have amazing options for breakfast and dinner. Our server, Arie, was wonderful. He took very good care of us every time, no matter how big the party was. The atmosphere is romantic, which is great. We will keep coming back.

I love the food here! It's always amazing and in true Cajun style. Dining out on the patio overlooking the water is wonderful. The service is always spot on and sitting at the bar to eat is fun to talk with the locals. They always have some sort of spicy pasta-which I love!

    Fish Fry

Nice patio, my wife had blackened whitefish with dirty rice, I had the fish fry, both were good but the coleslaw was too spicy and the tartar sauce wasn't good (maybe a little pickle relish would make it better) service was ok. Second time my wife had the burger and I had red beans and rice which I really liked, but it needed some bread with it to soak up the sauce, reasonably priced and good portions.

I tried Fishbone's and sat outside on their back deck. Easy to get a table outside since we went early. Service was great and our waiter was very helpful. I started with a pineapple margarita which wasn't too sweet which I enjoyed. We ordered a bbq shrimp with grit cake special which was ok. Great size to share but wasn't our favorite. I got the ragin' Cajun pasta which had a ton of shrimp, sausage and chicken, but it was a very heavy meal. We ended with key lime pie which was great!

Great flavorful, food friendly staff, generous portions & reasonable prices. Fun zydeco vibe with music on the loud side. Great view from the deck of the lake. A great place to go for Sunday brunch!

Came on a Monday night with a friend. Food: Really like the menu. Lots of diversity to choose from, and the prices are reasonable. We started with a couple of specialty cocktails. I had the Sazerac, and my friend had the OG Old Fashioned. Both were well made, and there was plenty of alcohol in each. For an appetizer, we got the Frogs on the Mound, which, as you can imagine, is 1/2 lb of frog legs on haystack onion rings. I haven't had frog legs in a while, and I thought these were very good. The breading was light, well seasoned, and not overcooked. The haystack onion rings were just okay. They could have been hotter and maybe seasoned (or just salted) a bit more. For our entrees, I got the Blackened Catfish, and he got the Grouper Tacos. Both of these meals were also very good. The blackened fish was the best part of my meal. It was excellently seasoned, cooked to the right temperature, and moist and flaky. Delicious! The collard greens were good, but would have been better with just a bit more pork. More pork is always better. The rice and beans were good too, but the temperature was less than hot. My friend enjoyed his Grouper Tacos, and the bite he shared with me was very good, except for the green peppers. I much prefer orange or yellow peppers, but I realize that's a personal taste issue. The tacos tasted fresh, the fish was tender, and the portions were good. Service: The place was about a quarter full. Even though we weren't in a hurry, the service got off to a bit of a slow start. After getting waters and menus, it took a while for our server to get back to us. I started to worry that this might be an issue for the rest of the evening, so I made a point of getting their attention. After that, things went smoothly. After ordering appetizers and entrees, the food came out in a timely fashion. All the staff we interacted with were helpful and friendly. Thanks, Sarah 1 and Sarah 2 :) Atmosphere: Besides the separate bar area, the dining room is a big open space with lots of four-top tables spread around. Around the walls there are posters, art pieces, and plenty of Mardi Gras beads. I wasn't sure at the time, but there was something a bit cramped about the interior. After looking at the pictures, I think it might have to do with the low, tiled ceiling. (I think this is the first time I have ever mentioned something about a tiled ceiling.) On this night, it was quiet and easy to have a comfortable conversation. Glad that we finally stopped in for a meal. With the exception of the initial service delay and some small issues with a couple of food items, it was a very good meal. Would definitely want to stop back again to try other parts of the menu.

She took her time to go over the menu items and specials especially when she heard we were first timers. I ordered the Jambalaya which i have had many times before in New Orleans among other locations. Their version was equal to the best I've had anywhere. The rice was perfectly cooked and seasoned - the tomatoes were cooked just right and the sausage' shrimp and other protein were plentiful. My wife had the pecan crusted river trout - she loved it. Liked not only the fish but the sides that went with it. For dessert we shared a piece of Key lime pie. My wife and I love this dessert - we've had it all up and down the south Atlantic coast from Key West to Virginia and this was excellent. A real taste of key Lime. Just an excellent place to sit and relax and have an excellent meal with some nice people.

Our server was great and the manager came by while we were eating to ask how things were and see if we needed anything. The hush puppies came with a really interesting sauce. The cheese, flavor and texture were great. The chicken meatballs were good also had a nice sauce. I got the 4pc Pressure Fried Chicken sub collard greens for Mac n cheese to share. They nicely split the meal on two separate plates for us. The fried chicken was really good with a delicious crispy breading. The biscuit and Mac n cheese were alright. The Mac n cheese was nothing special at all. The mashed potatoes and gravy were good, potato skins mixed in. Enjoyed the food and variety of options!

My friend had the gumbo and said it was amazing as well. Most people order to go but there are two small tables and a few chairs at the counter if you want to dine in. It would be nice to sit outside during the warmer months as well. I attached a photo of the current menu, although it changes depending on certain daily specials and ingredient availability. The owner was making king cakes for Mardi Gras and we were lucky enough to score a freshly-baked piece. It was so delicious and still a little warm inside which was a pleasant surprise. I'd never had it before but was excited to learn about it. The owner described it as a giant cinnamon roll and I agree, plus a layer of cream cheese in the middle. I definitely want to go back sometime for their morning menu, and will definitely be back for the rest of the menu as well. I don't think you can find quality Cajun food for this price anywhere in Madison!
