f you're looking for a spot that transports you straight to sunny Florida while you enjoy some delicious seafood, this is the place! The upbeat music and vibrant colors create such a fun, coastal vibe that you hardly notice the slightly uncomfortable seating. The food was good, but not outstanding. Presentation was the same -- nice, but nothing special. I had the crab cake sandwich, which was decent, though it lacked a strong crab flavor. My son ordered the crab legs and really enjoyed his meal! The service was a bit slow at times, but our server was friendly and attentive once at the table.

Peel and eat shrimp

We came here late on a Tuesday night in October. It wasn't busy at all and we thought it might be closed or at least closing very soon. Thankfully we still had enough time before they actually closed up to order food and have a seat. We were seating inside in one of their wooden booths. Ordered a couple of beers and were starving so we ordered a little more than we needed. Food came out quickly. An order of peel and eat shrimp, good maybe slightly overcooked but not bad. Boyfriend had the crab cake sandwich/burger. Being pleased with his choice it was quickly gobbled up along with a side of cheesy mashed potatoes. An order of wings with sauces in the side. Wings were cooked perfectly. We decided to try the banana Cajun sauce. I found it interesting but not really something I'd order again. My boyfriend however thought this was awesome!! To me it kind of tasted like a spicy bananas foster. I had the Cajun shrimp tacos. Super good! A side of their coleslaw which was delicious - had some Granny Smith apples sliced in it which added tart yummy flavor!! I would come here again! I bet it gets super bus and fun on weekends or event nights!! And probably during warm summer days when you can sit outside. It is close to the casino, walking distance as a matter of fact if you are staying there. The servers and bartender were very nice, super friendly!!

Piña Colada

Went to Twisted Fisherman and sat outside since weather was nice. The strawberry mojito was pretty tasty and the piña colada was delicious. We loved the fried calamari as it was very lightly breaded and tender- comes with cocktail sauce. The blackened salmon had a slight kick and really good flavor. I didn't like the coleslaw side as it was a bit too dry for me but the garlic mashed potatoes were pretty good just very rich. Our waitress was super kind and attentive which I really appreciated. They have a large amount of seating inside and outside which is great for larger parties. They also have beach chairs and tables to sit on the "beach" too, in addition to piers for boat tie up. Would recommend trying out if you want affordable, good value, and tasty seafood and bar options with a river view

I love stopping here when I'm kayaking, or even if I'm not coming from the waterside. They are very convenient public docks, have friendly service, great food, amazing drinks and cocktails, the ambience is amazing with the Adirondack chairs in sand, family style picnic tables with umbrellas outside, as well as ample seating inside. I can't recommend this place enough!

Lobster ravioli with a side of grilled vegetables

Twisted Fisherman takes you to a beach restaurant on the Florida coast, however, it has that Milwaukee flair. The staff was very personable and friendly. They gave us many recommendations and insights about the city. My lobster ravioli was creamy and full of lobster. Would love to come back during the summer!

The bar was busy at 5pm while they were also accommodating a rehearsal dinner and a boat dock party. Nice job keeping up! The crab cakes were phenomenal! The pile of greenery with it- so unnecessary;) The GM works that room/bar like a dance- sooo on top of it! The game will be on, but the sound will be music. And the tunes were 90s jams! Turn it up! The bread pudding needs a shout out too. And their Happy Hour. Just go:) ENJOY!!!

Bar hopping by boat is FAR better than bar hopping by foot! During an evening of cruising the Milwaukee River, Twisted Fisherman was our first stop! With ample docks to tie up the boat, an extensive outdoor patio along with indoor seating, rustic costal chic decor, large bar, we felt right at home as soon as we walked in! The 8 of us bellied up to the bar, ordered a variety of cocktails and interacted with the bartender - who was extremely friendly. Although we didn't stay for dinner, the extensive menu looked and sounded delicious - seafood, steaks, crisp salads and more - a perfect taste of the coast! When back in MKE, I'd easily return!

Calamari, crab cake sandwich and Tai mai

Such a nice place by the river, drinks are awesome, music so nice. I cannot believe I've never been here before. The beach is so fun, small but cool with a drink in a nice day. They supposedly have domes for winter. Ordered crab cake sandwich and calamari with a taimai yum

My friends & I got beven oysters as an appetizer & they were so cheesy, savory, & tasty! For the main course, I couldn't decide whether to get meat or seafood, so I got the surf & turf which comes with both. The ribs were soft & fell off the bone nicely. The snow crab cluster tasted great with the melted butter, but I did have difficulty breaking them open. The sides I got were mashed potatoes & vegetables. For dessert we got a slice of chocolate cake & an apple cobbler to share. Both were good. Let's just say we all left pretty stuffed.

Brian, your awesome barkeep.

Twisted Fisherman never disappoints. The atmosphere is loose and fun and the decor helps bring it all together. The menu is primarily sea food oriented, this their name, but the chicken wings are excellent, along with the pulled pork sandwich for those desiring not sea food fare. They make a good cocktail and the barkeeps, Mike and Brian, are sure to engage you with you a friendly welcome and great service. Twisted has an awesome outdoor sitting area when weather permits and also have "igloo" surrounds for not completely agreeable weather for quaint sitting for two, or small group. Pass this place by is only at your loss for a jewel, that after visiting, you'll be bringing many of your friend to. Hang out and have fun time!

Super nice bartender/waiter and great service. I have been wanting to come here for many years but to drag someone who doesn't eat seafood was very difficult. Well, it was Easter and most every place was closed. Aside from this place. I had the twin lobster tails special. It was accompanied w baked beans (I think there was bacon in them, very tasty, (I ate them even tho I was fasting from all meats) Also came with Mac n cheese. Very creamy and delicious. Hubby had the grilled chicken sandwich and baby got the hamburger. Chicken was very good. Burger was nice. Too bad our son didn't eat anything but that's how picky eaters are. Daddy ate his burger patty since two buns was way to many carbs for him. There's outdoor igloo and plenty of seating inside. Today they had Easter brunch. Sounds like it was amazing. Anyway check them out.

Super good dinner at twisted fisherman last night! Honestly felt like I was on vacation in Florida when I walked in and it was such a vibe. We had great service and the food was awesome too! I had the blackened salmon with fries and coleslaw. The salmon was seasoned perfectly and had a crispy crust. The coleslaw was interesting with green apple slices in it and the fries were pretty yummy too! I'd love to try again before the weather gets cold. The cocktails also looked amazing and want to try the crab legs as well! Definitely recommend for a cheap and easy seafood option in Milwaukee!

St. Paul Fish Market is located inside the very busy and popular Milwaukee Public Market indoor shopping complex downtown. It reminds me of the Pike Place Fish Market in Seattle. The only parking option that I am aware of is metered street parking. The building has 2 levels but the 1st floor is where most of the business are. It appeared to me that St. Paul's is the most popular business there. It is a seafood restaurant and fresh fish market. They have a small sit down area for table service dining or you can order your food to go at the counter. After being seated and reviewing the menu I decided to order the same meal I had over 11 years ago. I went with a bowl of clam chowder for $8 to start and then added a fried grouper sandwich ($16) with french fries for another $2.50. The chowder was perfect. Flavorful, delicious and I wanted more (5). The sandwich also was delicious and satisfying made with quality fish, lettuce, tomato, and bread. However while it tasted very good halfway through eating it the bread bun started to disintegrate and then quickly turned to mush before I could finish. Then I needed a fork to finish it. It got messy and I don't like that in a sandwich. It's only for that reason I give an overall 4 score instead of a 5. The french fries were very good tasting too but I had ordered too much food and only had room for a few of them. The table service was very warm and friendly. I believe St. Paul's is a very good choice for a casual seafood meal but please buy more sturdy buns!

We arrived early and were told seating begins ad 5:00 if you would like to go to the bar.... Went to the bar and had a martini and a glass of wine. Well we knew it was not going to be cheap but I was a bit floored by the tab of $45 with tip and a charge for using a credit card. We were taken to our table which was at the back of the restaurant with a beautiful view and relatively quiet... perfect. Put our orders in with a very nice waitress: Me: 3 Oysters, Caesar salad, Lobster Tails Glass of wine Wife: Chopped Salad, LobsterTails, wine BTW. I love to have wine with a meal and enjoy it by the bottle. However in looking at their Wine Book they essentially triple the cost of a bottle. So to have a bottle of champagne was going to put us out over $150 .... for a cheap one. It was offered by the glass for $28. Bread was very good but with cold butter. Hate that. Chopped salad got a very high mark from a salad critic (wife) and my Caesar not so much. Get the one at Cooper's Hawk. for a comparison. The Lobster was great. $74 seems a lot until you go out and but anything comparable. The serving was generous and well prepared. A complimentary desert was offered and it was Chocolate and Hazelnut. VERY highly recommended. My mind had been set on Key Lime Pie so we had that too. Bottom line: $45 bar + $264 dinner+ $61 tip +$10 parking = $380 Would we do it again. Maybe but it was expensive. Oh I forgot there was a $5 charge for using my credit card. Good Grief!!

The only reservation we could get was 4:30PM but we were excited we were able to get in at any time. Because of the timing, the sun was setting over the water, which was really pretty to see. I got a little confused with where to enter the building and I guess I went in the wrong way because I walked down the dock and entered the back of the restaurant by the restrooms, lol. Barnacle Bud's had a cool decor vibe and moody lighting. Our waitress was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and you could tell she was very excited about the menu and the pop-up experience. She provided exceptional customer service- she went over the menu thoroughly, came back to check on us multiple times, and always refilled our water, which I always appreciate! To start, we ordered wine and the relish tray. Everything on the relish tray was a little too vinegary for me but most of the table enjoyed it. However, the four of us didn't finish it. It was pretty powerful with vinegar flavor. For an entree, I had the salmon with veggies and my friends ordered the lamb chops, carbonara, and a vegetarian friend ordered a plate of Bud's potatoes and veggies. The food was good but I thought mine was very salty. And I'm glad I ordered my sauce on the side. For dessert, the four of us shared the mousse, which had good flavor and texture. Also to note, there were up-charges for veggies, sauce was $3 extra, etc., so just pay attention to pricing if that's a concern for you. Overall, it was a unique experience and worth checking out.

Okay, I'm going to dish in a second. But overall - Maxie's…read moreis a super cool vibe. The colors, the well-placed low lighting, the appropriate volume of cajun music ... all done in excellent taste. The waitstaff is INCREDIBLE. They all seem to be having a great time, when it's slow, and when it's busy, which is important to see; plus, they help each other out. Waiters, bartenders, bussers, hosts, food-runners - they're often smiling and helpful to anyone. Not only did our waiter Scotty take amazing care of us (a group of 10 on a Saturday night, all arriving at different times; and he had many other tables besides us), but his teammates helped bring drinks, clear the table, and our deliver our food. Everything was timely, fresh, and as far as I know, no errors were made with drinks or food. We were all quite satisfied with our meal. The reason I give 3 stars is, for some reason I do not understand, near the end of our meal, we heard a man yelling quite loudly from the kitchen area AT OUR SERVER. The man (manager I assume) was insisting that Scotty was not attentive to us (and I can't discern a single reason why this would be claimed). Even if he noticed something we didn't -- it could have been a moment of quiet criticism, but this dude turned it into a screaming fit. And he could not have been more wrong. In fact overhearing this exchange (right around the corner, within full earshot of us and the back half of the restaurant) was the ONLY thing that soured our otherwise amazing experience. We then watched who I assume was the same guy (red-faced and angry) sit down at a table very close to us, and our server return a moment later somewhat shaken up. It was awful. We made sure to congratulate him loudly on his impeccable service after that. I don't know if the manager heard or not. But one can hope. This was not my first time here, but it was the first time I've experienced anything like this. Like I said, the team seems solid, our service is always timely and kind (and often, incredibly FUN) even when they're PACKED, the food is bangin', the oysters are fresh and delicious, and EVERYTHING is well priced & spiced! So we will be back. But we really hated seeing our waiter treated like that. For anyone who doesn't know - waiters in WI currently make $2.33/hour. This is below the federal wage rate of $7.25/hour for the same job. They survive off your tips. If they're good, they're great, and GOD BLESS THEM - they must do what they do because they love people. This manager did not seem to appreciate what he had right in front of him. But we did!!!! Needless to say, it was crowded and lively, but our table was waiting for us and we were sat immediately. My husband decided on the jambalaya, I went with the crawfish étouffée, and we split the roasted Cajun cauliflower as an appetizer. While it's hard for this kind of stew-like, saucy, veggie/sausage/seafood over rice mixtures to present beautifully, everything looked, smelled, and tasted delicious. The jambalaya had a little more of a kick than I prefer, but my husband loved it and my crawfish étouffée had the perfect amount of spice without being spicy. The roasted cauliflower was cooked to perfection and was the perfect way to start the meal. Not pictured is the bananas foster bread pudding that was the perfect way to end it. We both left with extra food to take home and the memory of a wonderful meal and great experience.
