My son requested sushi at Pacific bistro for his 17th birthday dinner, so we made reservations for a relatively large group on a Thursday night. We arrived a couple minutes late, but we're seated right away and had a very friendly and attentive waitress. Take care of us. We decided to order the sushi boat and a number of appetizers to go along with a bottle of wine for the parents and assorted juices and sodas for the kids even though the restaurant was busy our appetizers came out very quickly, followed soon after by the sushi boat. This isn't our first visit to Pacific bistro, in fact, the reason my son has to go there as it's one of his favorite restaurants. That being said, I just wanted to point out that even though the restaurant was quite busy, our food came out quickly. Our waitress was very attentive and charming, And our sushi was as good as much more expensive restaurants on the coasts! As you can see from the pictures, we had no problem, finishing the sushi boat and actually ordered a couple extra rolls afterwards, which were all delicious as well. Highly recommend Pacific bistro and look forward to returning sometime soon.! read more

Food is good, but has not improved over the years. Static menu. Prices recently jacked ***ridiculously***. We've been going tothis place with my entire family for 10+ years and I'll not be going back. Hot saki came out warm. Prices were recently jacked to the ridiculous level such that I probably won't come back. Their are really really good sushi restaurants in the area and these guys are now double+ the cost and it's not worth it. Fillet Hibachi is $55, at VIP sushi in Oconomowoc, it is only $22 and it is very good They also made us order a minimum of four hibachi dinners (6 of us) so we tried to get one to go, I would've preferred to go sit somewhere else and skip the hibachi table. (but the family was into it so we stayed). There's only so many times you could laugh at a guy saying my "eggroll" as he spins a egg on a spatula. When the waitress came back to tell us, we couldn't get an order to go... this inflexibility was the limit for me. I canceled my two orders (sashimi, and a salmon dish ) and just stuck with soup that I had already been served (the coconut soup is really good) as it turns my stomach to get these guys any business now or in the future. Lot of good, a few negatives. In today's Ted talk we'll cover both. Good: Food is legit fire. Love their Thai dishes. Panang and red curries both good. Pad prik pao is incredible. Sushi rolls all fresh. Have the sushi bar right in center and skilled sushi chefs. Solid drink selection. Not so good: PB had high prices even before inflation made it cool. Look, I'm all in favor of paying for quality but I'd still say most items are slightly overpriced. Especially considering portions on the small-medium size. Came here on a weekend night and we were able to get a table. I had read online some folks liking the shrimp pad thai, so being a fan of that dish I ordered it. I thought the base pad thai sauce was a bit off in flavor and the dish also didn't have the right mix of crushed nuts, scallions, sprouts and lemon. Food was excellent, but we had it delivered via Uber Eats and we were missing part of our order when we received it. The bag was not stapled shut and it was easy access to lift some our items. Lobster sushi roll is expensive but so delicious and worth the splurge. The hibachi dinners are tasty, just a little pricey. Bottom line is the food is good, but I recommend dining in. Also, be prepared to pay more here than at a chain sushi joint. read more

I loved this place. Second time here and both times the food was excellent. This time I tried the special roll, spider roll. It had crab, tuna, cucumber, avocado, unagi sauce and I don't remember what else. Delicious! I also tried the chicken lettuce wrap and they were great too. House Cabernet pretty good. . read more

Everything I have tried at this restaurant has been great. The sushi and other dishes are always good. My complaint is that they are much higher priced for what you get. It is good sushi but for what you're getting- too expensive. I frequent many sushi restaurants and this one is a little pricey. read more

Went here on a date night and wanted to like it but just the quality and taste was very disappointing. There were several things not available on the menu and the few things that were were just mediocre. We had ordered a beef curry and it was served in a bowl. It was cover to the top in a very thin sauce like soup and deep within there were minimal pieces of meat and veggies. When I think of curry it needs to have some thickness to it and substance not a bowl of soup. The sushi rolls were very grocery store quality and wasn't impressed. I had ordered a sprite and it tasted like the lines were dirty. We won't be going back. read more

I so wish I could do 5 stars!! I really loved my experience here. We came early for dinner and no host for seating so went to bar. Bartender/manager seemed flustered with the phone and we waited a good 10 minutes to get a drink order in. I had the lemongrass Cosmo and it was strong and legit! Things seemed to work themselves out service wise after that and we got a table. Knowledgeable and pleasant server greeted us and gave us great service through our meal. Started with crab Rangoon, delicious! Our dinners were Volcano Chicken and Pad Kow beef. You can order the heat you desire with each dish. The chicken was amazing!!!! My review loses a star because the beef was just tough and didn't taste very good. Otherwise the atmosphere was great. Soft classic 70's rock, think Todd Rundgren and Steely Dan, plus the place is immaculate and lovely! They have a sushi bar that looked fabulous and what I saw coming out was beautiful. It's OK to me. Food is good but not great. Sushi is good as well but again doesn't stand out as great. Have tried it a few times (at least 5) and each time was just OK. Hibachi was fun for my son and I however we much prefer Asiana. Have tried multiple menu items and nothing stood out as something I'd really want to go back for. If I'm in the mood for Asian food I may go back again but probably just because the ambiance is nice and the location is convenient. read more

The service was very good. But the food was not. Not worth the price. The sushi had a very strong odor... like the fish was NOT fresh. So beware if you're looking for good sushi, this is not it. Also had the Drunken Noodles which the flavor was very good but the chicken we added was off. Also had a not so fresh taste to it. Everything I have ordered from here has been wonderful! Start your meal off with the coconut soup! Hands down the best soup I have ever had. I would use the word breathtaking. A soup, breathtaking? Yeah I just called a soup breathtaking. Everything from the broth to the internal ingredients is out of this world! I would pay for the cooks to give me the recipe. Sushi - great! Pad Thai-great! Spring rolls-great! Eggs rolls - great! Service-great! Atmosphere-great! Crab Rangoon-great! I have only come here for lunch. It's never crowded and they have an excellent lunch menu. What really stands out to me is the quality of the food. It's not greasy or over salted. You leave feeling full but not sick full. First visit here. Wanted to waste time for an appointment and needed lunch so checked out where to go and this place popped up checked out menu and how it was rated and seemed good so lunch here I come. First walking in theres a water wall pretty cool. Its bigger than I thought and we were able to sit where we wanted so went to the back room to be distant from others and it was perfect sort of enclosed with doors but open and away from the bar where alot of people tend to gather more. I ordered hot tea and it was nice the waiter brought out a few flavors to choose from instead of one plain or boring flavor. There was lavender, green ,oolong and black. I had a lunch sesame chicken with jasmine rice. This had so much good sesame flavor and good coating on the chicken not soggy and big chicken chunks and a sweet and sour sauce for dipping. You have a choice of miso, onion soup or salad I went for onion soup because I don't like the taste of seaweed with miso soup and I really enjoyed that so much more. It has mushrooms and scallions and crispy onion pieces and a brown broth. Plus you can have egg roll or crab Rangoon and I went for the Rangoon they were decent but maybe a little bit more filling would have made them great. They do also have hibachi on the opposite side of the restaurant seemed more private area for the hibachi show and meal. My friend had the shrimp pad thai lunch and she mentioned that it wasn't dry which is a plus good plump shrimp and a different but tasty sauce and it was very good. Pacific Bistro is extremely inconsistent with their "star" levels for spices. Every time I order Sweet and Sour chicken 2 star, it's NEVER the same amount of spice. Most times it's very little to no spice and sometimes it feels like 4-5 star spice. Not sure how what's going on in the kitchen, but there's got to be an easy solution to this. Why even offer star levels if the measurements are never the same? I absolutely love dinning in, John is the BEST. Aidan is the most friendly host. The atmosphere is great. read more

This location was great. The atmosphere was very tranquil/clean and the service was great! The waitress did a great job of explaining the menu items and convinced me to partake in a saki sangria which did not disappoint. I would recommend a smoked salmon roll. I was not sure of exactly what I wanted and the chef asked me a few personal questions about what I liked, and what I have tried before and created a great dish for me. The price and portion was appropriate for what I ordered. I would highly recommend this location for dining and if I return to this town I will return to this restaurant. read more

I used to really love this place but my recent experience with a takeout order turned me off a little bit. We ordered from a lady that wasn't trained properly because she had to put the call on hold approximately 4 or 5 times and when we came in to pick up our food she asked how we wanted our steak cooked????? The food was decent, the hibachi was tasty, but the side salads were an embarrassment. Please see the attached photo. Overall, I'd still give them another shot but I don't think I'll ever order out again because it was a very poor experience and the food was significantly worse than when eating in the restaurant. read more

I was part of a group of 7 to visit Pacific Bistro for dinner. Unfortunately, they were understaffed and really popular that evening, so service was very slow. The servers were working so hard to keep up; there just weren't enough of them on the floor. The restaurant itself has a great atmosphere. There's a nice big bar, a hibachi grill area, and table seating. The folks in the hibachi area sounded like they were having a ball, and the restaurant staff was really nice about letting the child in our group stand in the back with a grown-up so she could see some of the show during our long wait. On the menu, there are lots of choices. I would say the menu leans more towards the Thai and Vietnamese style of dishes overall. The starters include some of the typical favorites one would expect to see at an Asian restaurant in the US - crab rangoons, chicken satay, edamame, egg rolls, and the like. In addition to the aforementioned hibachi grill, there is also sushi and sashimi, soup and salad, curries, noodle and rice dishes, and a variety of entrees featuring meats from chicken and beef to seafood and duck. They also offer a kids menu and a gluten-free menu. Some of the folks in my group ordered crab rangoons to start, which were enjoyed. One amusing thing was that one of the rangoons had apparently exploded in the fryer and arrived empty - just a shell, no filling. Our waitress was apologetic and brought a new one, and the kitchen even went to the effort of dressing it up on a small plate with all of the garnishes, which was a nice touch. Three folks went with sushi, which they all enjoyed, although the usual side items like wasabi had to be requested - not sure if that's standard there, or if it was just the chaos of the evening. Kiddo went with the Sesame Chicken and rice, which she loved. The portion was generous, and she had plenty left for lunch for the next day. Two people ordered the pad thai, and neither of them liked it. It was described as being too sweet and the flavors not quite blending as expected for that dish. The gluten free menu had a nice range of selections, including a few items from most of the categories. I settled on the Red Curry and opted for chicken. This came in a large serving bowl with plenty of the sauce and a separate bowl of rice so I could put it together myself. I thought this dish was quite good - had a wonderful little kick and a good blend of flavors, plus plenty of meat and veggies. The portion was generous, and I had leftovers. The staff was really nice, and it may have been an off night with the combination of understaffing and so many customers, so I'd certainly be willing to visit again and see how it goes. read more

Happened to stumble across Pacific Bistro on our way back to Milwaukee and was very pleased with our experience. Based on our server's recommendation we tried the special drink which was green tea with cucumber vodka (and maybe something else) which was very delicious! Great summer drink! I selected the beef and broccoli (level 2 spicy) with extra mushroom and it was delicious. Plenty of beef, broccoli and mushrooms with a very nice sauce. A friend tried the Badger roll based on the recommendation of an employee and was very pleased with the selection. He also tried the lettuce wraps mentioned he would not order them again. Our luncheon entrees were quite acceptable. My Sweet/Sour Vegetables with chicken, Egg Drop Soup and Egg Roll were all well-prepared and presented. My wife's Egg Drop Soup and Crab Rangoon were also well-prepared although the Pad Thai was overly sauced and had an off-flavor. The service was prompt, although there was hardly anyone in the place at 12:30 on a Thursday. At $11 each, the price was acceptable, although not reasonable. read more

Surprised to see this is currently only 3.5 stars. Stopped in for lunch and had a Teriyaki Bowl with beef. The lunch included a soup and two crab rangoons. The soup was hot, had a fair amount of thinly sliced mushrooms in it and had great flavor. The crab rangoons were crispy and hot with a decent amount of filling. The Teriyaki bowl itself was incredible. A generous amount of beef and fresh vegetables cooked perfectly and served nice and hot. The service was fantastic and quick. Great service at bar. Hugely friendly. Had two spicy rolls. Both were very good. Had to take one star deduction for tail shell on shrimp in roll. Prep chef should have noticed, and almost a crime for sushi chef to miss it. Otherwise, GREAT crab on rolls - like how they string it out - and nicely portioned. Good sauces and they are happy to give you extra of whatever you like. Looking forward to going back. Hopefully the shell was just a one time mistake. Not too happy. I ordered sushi here for the second time. The first time was excellent. The second time was not a good experience. They forgot to include an order of salmon and no soy sauce. I also got a spicy tuna roll and 2 of the 6 pieces had absolutely no tuna in it just cucumber. The other 4 pieces had a tiny piece of tuna.
